@@LadyGoza a lot icon units don’t a replacement brush. But if you follow the motor wire back to the motor the brushes are attached to the wiring. And thank you
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing. I have a 4.25 hp, 130 VDC Leili treadmill motor that I’m using for a lathe. I noticed that the red and black wires coming out of the motor are AWG 16. So, like the fool I am, I decided to upgrade to AWG 14. I popped open the little plastic door where the black wire exits the casing. It shot across the room. Turns out there’s a spring in there. The black wire connects to a thicker copper braid which is attached to the brush, or magnet or whatever it is. This brush or magnet fits in a slot inside. So I connected the braid to the 14 gauge wire and I’m wondering what the spring is for. It’s a PITA to get it in like it was. What’s its function and do I need it in there? Did I do a foolish thing? Thanks for your help. Paul
My motor looks very similar to the one on here. I need a replacement reflector sticker that goes on the end of the flywheel for the infrared censor. Do you know how to get one or even properly word that question? It's a precor 9.25i 400 series. Thanks!
Well that will be hard to find they have not used that reflector tape or the infrared sensor for a long time. Your wording is perfect send me a picture of the tape to fitness parts pro @gmail.com they made different kinds back in the day I will see if I can help
@@FitnessTechnologyServices ok thanks. I actually bypassed the damaged tape which was on the edge by moving the censor inwards. I also plan on using mirrored tape to make a new one. Thanks for the response!!
I can’t answer that I never have heard of doing that! I general I think it is not good to get it wet .... you could try a pen eraser no pencil it not rugged enough
Hello! Very helpful and top specialist video always! Could I ask please for a detailed demonstration of changing sole (F80 or any other) brushes and spring replacement? Thanks and greetings from Greece - Athens!
Wow!!!! Spring was crooked so the brushes had bad contact. Amazing. Your video is just the right thing at the right time. My treadmill stopped working with FET Error. So I ordered the FET and my genius coworker, Ben, helped me out by replacing it. We still got the same error. Long and short, Ben took it home and applied a DC voltage, and it worked only when he pushed black wire. He then opened it and the spring was crooked. He straightened it out and it started working. I am going to order new brushes anyway. I could not find any direct information. Maybe someone can help me. McMillan Part # C3456B3442 Life Fitness Part # 7964201

Great video. I'm still looking for a video on the Pro Form 505 CST model PFTL60910.1 I can't seem to figure out where the brushes are. Thanks.

I think you have to have the spring the motor brushes need to move a little. And the spring keeps light pressure on the brushes

What about all the grit inside after cleaning?
Well there nothing you can do about that. I never heard of this being a Issue.
Will bad brushes cause squeaking?
Hmm not sure on that . It is normally a tapping noise but I guess
Would spray carbon cleaner clean the commutator ?
