Oh, I would like to mention before even watching this video that sugar burns are the actual worst kind of burn that you can get when it comes to food related burns, because molten sugar will adhere things to your body. Things like latex gloves, you might be wearing the clothing you're wearing your jewelry that kind of stuff. Oil burners are pretty bad because they spread very quickly and they cover a lot of surface area but sugar burns hot and it will burn really really deep.
Ayup, I made caramel once when I was like 10. I still have a circular scar from where the molten sugar drop fell on my hand and it’s been like 30 years.
I hate that these dangerous recipies dont get any warning, the mess is the least concern, if people don't cook it in the right way in the right containers... it can disfigure people, badly.. children have been getting burnt really bad. He most likely knows how dangerous and hot molten sugar is. This is why I love "How to cook that" She does all these fun videos with the actual information.
Guys be extremely careful if youre gonna try this at home and dont do it if youre not a seasoned cook. Melted sugar can be extremely dangerous to work with so kids and amateurs should probably avoid this
Don’t be discouraging. Kids, ask a parent to help. Unseasoned cooks, wear protective gear. Simple as that. Fear mongering society makes me laugh so hard.
I agree. There's a reason why if your child isn't careful or attentive in helping. They are best not to be in the kitchen for regular cooking. Much less dealing with hot sugar. Adults can get bad 3rd degree burns as an amateur in the craft. Do you want to blame someone if your own child gets it? Take your own damn responsibility if you order them to learn and get badly burn from sugar. Between hot oil and hot sugar. Hot oil can be the lesser evil of two. That's all I'm leaving this at. Unless both adult and child are old enough to know the risks and what they are doing, don't enable them to attempt this
@@maxleong304...so basically don't do this in front of a kids face and as long as you know what you're doing... basically what they said. Actual safety isn't fear mongering... lol. Saying "the crime rate is up 200%" when local crimes have gone from 1 to 3 is. It is not "fear mongering" to say "probably a good idea to know what you're doing when handling prison-napalm and act as such." And who are they fear mongering for... Big Cotton Candy?
Because who tf needs to talk about the strawberry that fell? Are you perpetually online and think that all facets of a video should somehow be found in the comments? Are you nervous no one's talking about it or something? 😂
May be worth also mentioning it’s incredibly dangerous to spin molten sugar. The TikTok versions of this recipe are notoriously dangerous and have caused a massive spike in life altering burns on young children doing the beginning part of this recipe using a microwave! Whilst you’re using glass and high quality cookware, glass that is microwaved can explode on contact with a cold surface. Microwave safe plastics can’t withstand the heat of the molten sugar are also a massive issue. Remember your audience.
Dude, you sound preachy as hell with that "remember your audience" shit. I get the concern, really I do, melted sugar is very hot. But you're talking about microwaved tanghulu when there isn't a single microwave in the video. Be careful with media sensationalizing a trivial problem, therefore making it a bigger problem than it ever should have been or was. E.g. the nyquil chicken fiasco last year. Seriously, I searched for a good 30 minutes and could only find 2 articles talking about it. I wouldn't call 5-6 isolated incidents a "massive spike in life altering burns". If you got sources that backs that claim up, no troll, I'd genuinly like to see them.

Did you know that if you stay in the sun long enough, you'll get sunburned? Remember your audience.
After looking closely I think I know why they got it so good. - First their strawberries are coated with what looks like fine vanilla sugar dust. - Second he only briefly exposes the strawberries to the bubbles from the boiling sugar, but doesn’t dip them in completely and doesn’t soak them. - Third is just a speculation but listen, how you make creeps flame or something like that, creeps that are in a caramel sauce with brandy that you set on fire is you warm up the sugar and add quite well bit of butter and lemon juice. Think that the butter is the key to make the sugar boil like that with so many bubbles and it might also help it spread better like cotton candy! Please try it if you have time and try to make creeps with peach compost inside with the sugar that you have left so it doesn’t go to waste, just add some good brandy or cognac in the sugar butter mix before you finish frying the already made pancakes in it, then set them on fire before serving and turn off the lights so that the flames look better on camera.
Maybe if you push that 1st strawberry all the way through then bend the tip of the stick creating an anchor so the strawberries don't slide off that might help.
