Hey Mick, never apologize for the video being long! Loved the canopy removal 😂 very professional. The bar and grill comment was funny as, reminded me of Hogs breath bar, they had one in Port Macquarie when I lived there 👌
Hahaha yep 🥩 🍺👍
loved it Mate, go and have a beer, talk to dog lol
I left OZ in 2002 to live in France, used to sell and own these Falcons, my last was an EF Fairmont had great seats, I still own two Fords here, a trip down memory lane for me.
Thanks!
France ! That’s a big change from down here🍺🍺👍cheers for watching
Hi Mick, good job on the XF ute mate. I just sold mine recently after doing a very similar fix up. Great to see another one being saved. I hope you get some enjoyment out of it as they are very cool looking utes in my opinion. Cheers for the efforts you tubing !!!

Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
THANK YOU SO MUCH MICK, I always love watching your stuff, it's such a relief from the workday shit. At 5, I still enjoy getting my hands dirty and greasy, but time and ability become an issue the older I get and of course, I don't have the expertise you do. I am so grateful for the tips and tricks and 'back shed' (pun intended) knowledge that you give. It keeps the wheels turning for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Your more than welcome David 🍺🍺👍
Always a better day when you drop a new video, thanks so much, really enjoy watching your adventures 👏👏
Too kind David 🍺🍺👍
I’m pleased you enjoy them👍🍺
Mick, great choice, great ep. I had a 92 xg longreach 1 tonner column auto, bench/bucket efi white, it was a work horse, this shape is one of those eternal great shapes a real winner for ford, mate you knock it out of the park, enjoyed every minute, thanks for the memories, love your work, cheers
Your welcome mate🍺🍺👍
Next to the Commodore this is my favourite project yet. I love the 80s and 90s stuff. Cheers mate.
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Great vids mate love what you do with these great old Aussie icons, keep up the great work, and l like the Aussie humour you put in as well so cheers mate 🍻🍻👍🛻
Cheers Gary🍺🍺👍
Great to see a new ep Mick, looking forward to it. Within the first 2 seconds it looks like a 92 XF the last before the XG.
Has an orange repeater in the guard which would go on to be on the XG aswell
Your crazy close to spot on mate 6/91 built xf 🍺🍺👍👍
I love it when your vids come up. 👍🏻👍🏻 hey uncle Mick. At the 35:13 mark you are holding the connector for the CAM tester. Code Analysis Monitor tester. ( I was around ford a bit before the production date on your Ute ). You can extract fault codes with an analog voltmeter. I will look up your email and send photos from the manual on how this works. I have an original ford manual for XF. Also EA to Ed. Any ? And I can look it up. I stopped vid to send this. I think you may need to know that those peeps who fitted those alarms did actually want them to work. If it’s like a dealer associated accessory. 👍🏻👍🏻
🍺🍺👍
As I said love before, love these long episodes. I don’t have the means to get a project car for the moment, so will live vicariously through these videos.
Cheers mate , do stick around Ryan there’s heaps more coming mate🍺🍺👍

You are a tru blue mechanic love all of your work 👍🏻
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Love the long vids, takes me a week or two to get thru them but a lot better than having tk wait for parts 2 and 3 etc. Cheers for the tips
Yeah cheers mate I appreciate ya saying , I also prefer making the long videos because I work a normal job like everyone else and have limited time to work on the cars so I bash out the work I can get done on my days off 1st week the go back to work the edit on my next break the next week .👍🍺 people can grab a beer and sit and watch as they please mate but I prefer to give a result in the videos rather than a wait and see type thing🍺🍺👍cheers for the feedback
Awesome work Mic. She came up great. Got to love the old xf ute
Cheers mate🍺
Great work! Had one of these many years back - still miss it!
🍺🍺👍
Loving these vids Mick. Whenever they pop up I have to make time to give them my full attention! Good stuff. Never really been a huge fan of the XF, but this thing looks like it's been a good work horse, and with your guidance it will be again!. Rock on mate, cheers. Dan
Cheers Dan🍺🍺👍
Solid wheel choice and great episode. Cheers man
Thanks mate🍺🍺👍
and stainless steel too 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Brilliant as usual Mick, and loving the new music too 👍
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Another great Vid Mick. I had to laugh when you were taking that fuel line hose off. I could see that it was going to run down your arms and drip off your elbows. Happened to me so many times before. Any way keep them coming. loving it. Sully.
Cheers mate🍺🍺🍺
Another brilliant video Mick. Great job. Keep ‘em coming.
Cheers Paul🍺🍺👍
Nice work, mate! Many years ago I had an XE fairmont catch fire while driving due to the ridiculous position of the coil. The car was fully optioned and the mindf#*k attempting to replace and piece together all the rubber hoses, lines, and where they went was a nightmare. The engineers couldn't have picked the worst possible place to mount the coil if they were trying.
Hahha I agree🍺🍺👍
Very interesting video. I learned a few things. That Ute really looks the part. Thanks for sharing all the experiences. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Cheers mate
Are you new to our channel or been here for a while?🍺🍺👍
This one is gonna come out great keep up the good work mate

Hey Shaneo I knew you’d be here soon enough mate 🍺🍺👍
Bloody hell man she's clean! Another classic brought back to life! Can hear a vacuum leak somewhere possibly as well at the end of video ..
Yeah that whistle I hear it too mate but I’ll sort it next episode 🍺🍺👍
She came up mint another great episode love the long one too cheers mate
Thanks Scott 🍺🍺👍
When i had my xd and xe i relocated the coil to the suspension tower lower mounting nut using the original bracket, it made life easier to replace leads and or the coil itself...
You dont even need to make any electrical adjustments, just untangle the wiring mess... simples!!
Great vid!!
🍺🍺👍
Come up a treat mate. Good job Mick 😎👍
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Hey Mick, great show. Really brings back memories. Learned to drive in my old man's XE ute (his company pit truck), he had an XF and then an XH ute after that, he still drives an LPG BF ute now at nearly 80 yo. Had an '98 XH van ex-Telco, excellent bodywork, and drove great. Should have held onto it. Cheers mate.
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
I nearly bought an XH van... can't believe that was 25 years ago!
Hahah yep it flys👍🍺
Great to see you back Mick. These old utes were a great work horse. This one is a nice looker.
Cheers Ross 🍺🍺👍
Awesome to see a 90’s Falcon. She just needed someone to give her a little love. Excellent vid again mate! The aftermarket alarm gave me PTSD of my first XE Ghia 😅
Yeah I hate them🍺🍺👍
Great vid the Ute looks awesome looking forward to see what you do with the old Val AP5 cheers 🍻
Cheers mark
I’ve done 1 video on the Val and I’m just waiting on floor pans for her🍺🍺👍
Once again Mick what a banger.. makes me want to get another x series falcon haha as always love the content. I need to find something to fix up keen for the next build 👌🍻

🍺👍
Ill be looking forward to watching it bit later. 🍻
Cheers Paul🍺👍
Love your videos mate, Always motivates me
Thanks mate I hope ya gettin heaps done 🍺🍺👍
Hey Mick , good to see you back on the job mate. That XF was a bloody good score, especially getting one without the complimentary rust around the quarter windows. I have had several of them and they never let me down. My thoughts on cutting coils are the same as yours on lowering blocks.Cheers from NZ, Phil.
Cheers Phil 🍺🍺👍
Yeah it’s fine for a cruiser but nope on a high performance car👍🍺🍺🍺
Thanks Mick👍
Your most welcome mate🍺👍
Very enjoyable video as usual Mick. It's a real head scratcher as to why Ford continued produce & fit the ancient 4.1 OHV engine (& the carburetted version at that) into the Falcon ute for years after the EA Falcon was released with the [then] new OHC EFI sixes, until the XG ute was released in 1993.
🍺👍 maybe if it ain’t broke ? So they didn’t try to fix it ? 🍺🍺👍
Maybe some traditionalists didn’t want any electronics in their bitch magnets…?
Hahhaha yep maybe 🍺🍺👍
Your Birds…awesome 😎👍✌️
Hahha there’s a few around mate🍺🍺👍
Great job mate 👍 love your work keep it up mate I look forward to your videos .😅
Cheers Karl🍺🍺👍
I have to say I'm not usually a fan of lowering vehicles and definitely not the lowering blocks but you have that thing looking right on the money. Another great video thanks brother
Cheers John🍺👍
Well done, it looks cool....the paint still looks okay.....
Good enough for me 🍺🍺👍
Great work Mick. I started on an XF ute project but it was beyond my ability. I found a 2nd one and it's now the new project.
🍺👍
That's a tidy uterus Mick, you've done a nice job. Liked the bloopers... "multi grips, that's what that bloody tools called". I had a mechanic mate that always called them "nut Fu *#'ers."
Hahha yeah I get that hahah🍺🍺👍
another great vid,cheers Mick
Cheers mate🍺👍
Great looking rig, looks like a great score, I like the Ford, but the XF were renound for rust, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Cheers mate🍺👍
Nice piece of history. Cleaned up nice. Well done. Needs a nice polished alloy toolbox behind the cab. Always good extra to have the pick up cab. Go camping for the night or two. Chrome tip exhaust. Chrome spotlights. Whip antenna out the middle of the tool box.. Needs a man with a pin strip brush.. Good job Mate.. Keep digging um up. 👍🦬🍺
Will do mate🍺🍺👍
Hey mate thanks for your episode of this falcon i have one around where I am going pretty cheap i have been thinking of buying blessings and cheers 😊
No drama mate , turning an ugly car into cool ain’t that hard🍺🍺👍
in before the door handle snaps and the smart lock computer takes a turd. lol. Love the vids mate
Hahhaha yeah I hear ya 🍺🍺👍
Ahhh
The old xd xf ute …
I still have one as a garden ornament with 1.28 million kms on the clock…
I’ve had a few of em over the years …
At 260,000 km she’s barely broken in !
Good clean old ute !
🍺👍
love the video mate keep up the good work
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Oh dear! The carpet on the dash 😂
Hahahah🍺🍺👍
need to send you my Ute your like car Jesus turning paddock.scrap into nostalgic memorabilia . So cool to see young bloke on the wheels too what satisfying project id have loved that . All.the best for silly season mick can't imagine what you'll bring us for next ep 🤟 anyway enuf talking 😅
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Absolutely love the XF ute Mick!
I had an 86 XF Panel van company car. It was awesome. That must be one of the last XF'S Before they went to the XG with the 3.9 SOHC multipoint EFI engines, when the EA'S came out. You've done a top job on this one as well Mick.
If you make sure the lifters and overhead assembly aren't starved of oil, you'll get another 300k out if it😂. Keep up the awesome content🍺🍺
🍺👍👍
As a Ford parts guy from 88 through 2001, I found this video traumatising......😢....I am suddenly flooded with part numbers 30 years buried.....😅
Hahhahaha🍺🍺👍
Cool episode Mick! 👍
I had an EA years ago with an immobiliser on it. It was good until it wasn't. But it did have a small button hidden under the dash which when the key was ON...push the button to deactivate....worked when the fob didn't! 👍
Love the banter mate....its funny as and it feels like I'm right there too! 👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Another great video Mick. Show us what you do with the interior when you get a chance 😜
Will do mate🍺🍺👍
Pretty cool ute for what it is Mick..
Reasonably tidy rust free mate will be an awesome daily..
The drsgway's look bloody fantastic on it too by the way mate!!
Yeah Scott just cheap cruiser 🍺🍺

I'm very excited for you mate that you have bought yourself an XF Falcon Utility - pride and joy - I have really enjoyed this long episode.
From, William.
Mount Gambier, South Australia.
Cheers William I appreciate you coming back again mate🍺🍺👍
@@backshed5295 Yes, particularly when you do source out these particular falcons with canopies or even Panel Van's - I certainly do enjoy watching. Cheers mate.
Thanks mate 🍺🍺👍
It’s a long one but hang in there🍺👍
Great job mate
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Love the video Mick just a pointer when painting plastic bumpers you should always add a flex agent to the paint other wise the paint will crack if the bumper gets pushed on.
Not to acrylic Lacquer mate only 2pack paints🍺👍
Really enjoy your channel. I'm from the states and have owned three el camino's but your ute's are so much cooler. Just a side note when I first started watching you channel because of you accent I thought the name of you channel was batshit
Hahahhaha cool
🍺🍺👍
Another great video.
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Great ep Mick as always. Love your work👍, i had a ZL awhile back with paint code Z stark white. The holes in the rad support on the left & right are where the brackets for the radiator go.
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
@@backshed5295 🍻
Looks great can't believe how tidy it is with a polish and some elbow grease . Also I feel your pain with all the rules around mods etc it's the same down here in nz , painful and pricey.......
Sure is mate🍺🍺👍
Thanks so much for making this video, I really like how you explained your thought processes.
Cheers mate for watching🍺🍺👍
@@backshed5295 I just got a XF Ute and been pulling my hair out reading forums and now I’m so happy after watching your video because it answered most of my questions cheers 🍻
When you’re doing the zip tie trick what else are you checking for besides the obvious piston being at the top?
Just piston at the top mate and look for some marks on the balancer.🍺🍺💪
@@backshed5295 thanks 🙏
