Was thinking the same. Amazing!!
Thinking the same well done!
Long overdue and well deserved tribute to this modern Australian (and I do mean AUSTRALIAN -it's a very Australian car) icon.
Video looking excellent mate. Well done!
Thanks guys! Your new Mira episode was epic.
This is wholesome
My two favourite channels communicating 🥺😄🥳🥳
These days it's notable for the most appearances on *Dash Cam Owners Australia* spinning out on the motorway...
🤣🤣
I own a S1 AU Fairmont Ghia, yeah I'll admit they have a light rear end.
Just makes it more exciting in the wet, and makes me feel like Dick Johnson.
Towed a caravan 27,000km around Australia over 8 months in one. Up and down mountain ranges, across dirt, in 45 degree heat. Did not miss a beat. All I had to do was replace the rear half of the exhaust for $220. That’s it.
It was super comfortable and used as little as 12L/100km towing a 1500kg caravan.
Great car which helped us have a great trouble free adventure I will never forget.
AU falcons are like the cockroaches of the road.. they look ugly, they are everywhere and they don't die.
ceffydriver I want to buy every one of them and just send it to the wreckers lol
FalzoonFX Wait, why?
Manic they are American, and American stuff breaks down
@@FalzoonFX au falcons are not American, the 250 crossflow is solely an Australian designed as built engine since the 60's to now as the barramundi.
They probably conk out whenever you spray insecticide on them. Has someone tried?
Am I the only one who thinks the TE50 looks really cool?
one of a small few HA
I like em
Nope me to that’s why got 7
No it looks cook
U r not alone
As a taxi driver some time back, I drove the A.U. Falcon before
my boss replaced it with a B A wagon.
The old A.U. Clocked well over a million kms, although going through three gear boxes.
It was re registered and sold, the motor never had the cylinder head removed in its lifetime.
You can’t get those ks out of any Holden ,not even a Holden cab.
I remember they had to run the V8 in the Commodore Taxi as the Six couldn't take it.
Serious? AUs still in revenue service?
They relaxed the age limit for cabs in Sydney after Uber was legalised yet the oldest cabs I see are BF III wagons. Are memories that short in Sydney at how well the AUIIs handled taxi work? It must be that the workshops don't carry AU parts anymore.
True.Holdens tend to be "sporty".Ford's tend to just keep on'.
We had one come in for a service at 1.7 million K's, the only thing that was replaced was the auto.
Put the largest transmission cooler on them & they will last a heap longer
It looks as if an American Ford Taurus and Chrysler Sebring had a bastard child lol
Mercury Sable LS
I was thinking from the side it looked a lot like a Chrysler Concorde or 300M
No where near as hideous as tge mid to late 1990's Taurus🤮
I think its the Australian cousin to the Crown Victoria, rear-wheel drive powerhouses that never die
@12 Volts I was gonna say that it looked like a jaguar, dont think it's an incredibly ugly car
the AU falcon is a part of Aussie history and should rightfully be on the $50 note. AU= AU-stralia
How awesome would that be? I was half considering using the Australian anthem at the end of this video, it fitted quite well.
Should have mate, would have been awesome
Or at least $50 to purchase LOL
@@tobo26 bargain!
tobo26 haha yeah, that’s sounds a little steep really 😂
My Au Falcon has 370,000km on the clock and hasn't skipped a beat.
I ran my first one up to over 800,000 as a taxi...unstoppable
The AU Falcon's styling grows on you after a while...a bit like a wart.
The Ford 500 was a remake of the Falcon. They just widened the headlight and taillight covers.
For me, I personally didn't like the AU Falcon when it launched (as did a majority of people) but over the years I've come to accept it for what it is. It stands out from other Falcons with its design. Something totally unexpected. Now I love the car. And I'm glad many others found a place for it in their hearts.
It may be 20 years late, but the AU Falcon finally got the love it deserves. Awesome video.
Well said mate
Totally agree.I've got a 2002 sr wagon. The bloody thing has had issues with leaks & door thingys'(actuators) f.upBut after bodging up sway bar it'll go forever.Over 200,000kms & seems like new.
Yeah, I'm the same. I hated it when it was launched, but now 24 years later I think it's a great looking car
I'm a proud AU owner, I love everything about it.
yeah, if you don't care about appearances, and you need a big, comfortable, fast, reliable, very cheap car, the AU is for you. Personally, I don't even think they look that bad. Also, I love the way you throw the profanity in to a formal style of delivery :)
They're not quite as shocking as they used to be, that's for sure. Thanks for watching!
Wait for it, I actually do find them good looking, I don't even mind the whale mouth grill base model, if anything it's the dead boring interior centre stack inside I despise.
I find the series II base model grill with the simulated horizontal slats the best. I don't mind the droopy rear as long as it's the series II deeper rear bumper. I still dislike it with the less beefy original 98 rear bumper.
I didn't hear any profanities, he told it the way it was. That's the Aussie way.Political correctness has already brainwashed the cottonwool crowd.Don't beat around the bush.Aussie,Aussie,Aussie,Oi,Oi,Oi.
Aussie way or not, overuse of foul language to sound cool is pathetic and many Aussies out there only turn to it on occasion if at all and find constant use of it as uncouth and common.
@@chrisday1423 do you know what profanity is? Did you watch the video?
Is it just me, or if find this car look absolutely normal?
Who Cares? It looks normal NOW mate. Back then it looked fucked next to every other car.
Can't wait to see one legally imported into the United States.
ive seen one imported into Canada lol, it was an XR6
No one would want it. Gas guzzler, poor head design always warping or blowing gaskets and uglier than a witches titty.
Gee Paul that sounds hot
Gee Paul The xr6/8’s look ok and the head gasket are only a problem if your a dick head and don’t keep a eye on the coolant level
Gee Paul so the same as any ford in the US at that time.
The actual fuck do you mean unloved?
It's incredible at doing incredible things.
I think the change of opinion as they're nearing the 20-year old mark is interesting. People are starting to respect just how strong the fuckers are. Thanks for watching.
@@MotoringBoxTV Around about the same time as the Au came out Mercedes brought out a model that also had a sloping rear end. I didn't hear any comments bagging it at the time. Maybe because it was a Mercedes.
Aussie Arcade I’ve just sold my FG after about 7 years of comfortable, reliable motoring. They’re a great car, I hope yours gives you as much pleasure as the AU!
Like rusting their boot lids out after 18 months?
@@tcpnetworks Yeah the boot lids are the worst. The Silver Turd has a tiny patch which I hit with rust converter, seems to have done the trick.
What an amazing well edited video, wow I've seen channels with millions of subscribers who can't even do a quarter of this style of editing work
Thanks for the compliment, glad you liked it!
We are a country with virtually no identity or culture, so whatever culture that comes out of Australia must be treasured, that is why people keep the AU falcon.
no identity or culture you say??
@@SuperTambo69 Yes, put it this way, if we take every country and rank them in terms of identity and culture, do you not think we'd be amongst the last? I honestly think dead last really...
@@SmellsLikeNirvanna no, define culture and identity. Aussies are one of the most identifiable cultures in the world, much revered. Maybe you yourself would be dead last, and questioning your own country and culture confirms this, with no national pride. Sad, but thats your issue. Thats the problem with Australian's today, no national pride.
@@SuperTambo69 identifiable only in terms of influence. The same way USA has wealth and power and is far more identifiable than most regions in Europe. Does the USA have more culture than Europe? most will say no. We have cute animals and beaches, and perhaps a dated identity of laid back and "tough men crocodile dundee/steve irwin". Thats about it. So yea our identity is not even because of the people LOL. As for pride, sorry, no not for this, its delusion. Besides, many Aussie lie and exaggerate crap online anyway to push our culture.
People keep the AU because nobody will buy it from them and they have no resale value.
Drove one once in the country. Oh man they are comfortable , effortless , cheap ( gas converted) and powerful. Loved it.
I bought my Au Falcon just over ten years ago. Prior to buying it I asked several mechanics if there was anything wrong with the car mechanically. They all said no. I needed a new car as my daily driver and thanks to motoring writers and public opinion
AU Falcons were being sold cheap. I also had LPG installed making it dual fuel and at that time the government was giving a rebate on cars converted to LPG. I paid just over $6,000.00 for the car and it had about 120,000 ks on the clock. Well I have clocked over 465,000 ks and what has it cost me in repairs other than routine maintenance, one alternator, which I only replaced a couple of months ago. A tank of gas costs me about $40.00 and will get me at least 400 ks. Don't tell me the AU Falcon is a crap car, I'd buy another one tomorrow. Running it on gas gives you a large comfortable car with a small car fuel bill. Go the AU.
They’re ugly as fuck. Never liked the look 👀 them....but I’m on my 3rd. Great cheap car
Ford all ways been great engine wise and still is , but the headlight on that thing just no thought put in to it , bar that great car , just got myself a 2010 xr6 ,,,, fucken love it .
Glenn Schadow - quite the opposite, Glenny. Outsourced to one of the best headlight makers in the world, Hella Germany. High beams so good, no aftermarket ones needed.
How are the ball joints going ??. Mine Start rattling every 100,000 km
@@Dazzcam You have just jogged my memory. I did have to replace the left ball joint. The right one is still original. I should note that most of my driving was on sealed roads. A ball joint is a relatively cheap repair. The expensive repairs are engines and transmissions. Hope this helps.
I hated how these cars looked on first release. But I reckon it's aged better than most Fords and Holdens of a similar era. Reminds me a little of a W219 MB CLS.
MB copied the AU with that model 😜 Mercedes fan here 👈
agreed......just was revolutionary is all
Especially from the back
I like it better than a lot of American cars from that time. I don't think it's bad to look at at all. Better than the Taurus, or sable.
My dad had one of these while I was groing up. Thing went well and was super reliable
Please do more reviews/stories of Aussie cars or imports! You have give us so much info and its obvious you spent time making this and it paid off real bloody well! Was a good laugh and real informative. I love it!

I bought a bran new AU Falcon in 2000 and loved it. It's still going with the original engine and gearbox. It was roomy, powerful and economical on fuel. Never regretted buying it and the insurance was cheaper than it's competitors.
My AU has been in our family for the last 10 years and now my dad owns it and loves it just as much as I ever did 😘
Dammit, now I feel a very strong urge to go and buy an old Falcon.
Thanks for watching. You should!
I got 2 in a shed in Russia... By no means great condition ones either.

Ford AU were ahead of time. Mercedes copied the rear end in the CLS.
First time I saw a CLS I thought that too
They are very like the ones on the W220 Mercedes S class. However, I am certain Mercedes wasn't looking at Ford Australia for design inspiration ....lol. just saying.
@@modfus he is saying ford is the one that started the angled design back lights of vehicles.
@@modfus if you’re designing cars for Mercedes you would definitely know about the history of every major manufacturer and have a general idea of what they’ve made in the past. It’s plausible.
I personally loved the AU falcon, my first car was a 2001 AU XR6 and to this day i still look at the old pictures i have and remember it fondly and those bubble lights gave it a great mustang vibe.
I actually saw this vid and went into it not expecting much but was well surprised. Good editing, good humour, even got some emotion in there.
0:45 across the ditch here in New Zealand... The Au Falcon needs no introduction either.
As a foreigner, I learned so much about Australia in this video. Thanks for the history lesson!
Drove one as a cab. Bulletproof and easy to maintain. Want a car to hate? Start with the Cortina Six, Holden Camira or the Morris Marina. The AU was perfectly serviceable and durable.
Bro.. How have you only got 3k subs.. This video is awesome!
I don't wanna run before I can walk, if I keep producing good content I trust it'll grow. Thanks for watching!
Great car - smooth is exactly how I'd describe it too! It rides beautifully.
LOVE IT! I learnt on an AU series 2 S pack in red back in the day...great car...my daily is a 03 BA Fairmont Ghia and love it! Go Ford!
As a non-aussie, this video is simply amazing. Very well edited, clear shots, and superb explanation. I just saw a guy with an AU Falcon profile pic who was trolling a discord chat so I wondered what was that car about, very interesting to see its history and its status in the Australian minds.
Wow, thanks!
A motoring writer once said the following.
This best thing about the AU is that you can't see the outside when you are driving it ,
By the way,
I own a BA Falcon so I am Biased.
Kind of true. I usually like to own cars that I think look great visually. While I like how the AU looks, I don't LOVE it. So it has been quite an adjustment. But after a few months I do have big respect for it.
I personally always really liked the look of this car. I was in High school when it came out also. Eventually a few of my friends owned them and I got to drive them. Loved it! Now I want an AU Falcon haha!
My 2002 dedicated gas wagon is still going strong at just over 500000 kms still the original engine and gearbox and as far as I know timing chain too, I bought it in 2007 with 100000kms on it and I was told it was just run in, I looked at him as if he was smoking something but now I understand! This car proves that you can make engines and gearboxes to last, not like the crap scrapped at 200000kms European cars!!!! The Au is a dead set Aussie legend!! I'm glad I got to experience it!!
You should replace the timing chain then. But yeah you can run on them for ages
@@xripideffectsxx5162 I bought an SS VE Commodore wagon so the Falcon is just parked on the drive till I can get it ready to sell. But will easy do another 100 k plus KMS so be good for a learner or p plater
Dude, I just love your sense of humor. Btw, I own an AU XR6. I absolutely love it. Done almost 300000km now and only a few small electrical issues.
Production value is top notch. Subscribed.
Wow, I ignored this YT suggestion for a long time. I'm glad I finally watched it. I HAS SUBSCRIBED!!! Fabulous work, simply astounding. BTW, I have a 2003 BA LPG Wagon - and LOVE IT.
Easily one of the best engines ever built by FoMoCo. It's nothing for them to do a 1,000,000+ km. Many years ago I had an AU taxi come into the shop with over 1.4 million on the clock still going strong on the original donk. Let's see an alloytec do that😂
Brilliant video. My mates love the AU Falcon. And over the years, I’ve come to love it too.
I am about as far away from you as is physically possible (Sweden), but I’ll have to say, you and your videos are top notch, superb quality. You’re better than Doug, in my opinion. Keep ’em coming!
Thanks mate, that means a lot! Glad you enjoyed it and hello from Downunder :)
TheFlobby yeah doug sucks
you don't need to put another channel down just to lift another one up. Doug has his way of doing videos and MB has his way of doing it.
Doug runs a great channel, I've been watching him for years.
It's where Mercedes got its Gen 1 CLS design from, but absolutely nailed it.
Pretty much!
This. This is the proper AU Falcon video we need but don’t deserve. Bravo 👏🏻
Wow...an AU fairmont ghia thats not that terrible beige brown, not full leather, and under 200K on the clock...thats truly a rare find!
I had an AU series II ute. Absolutely loved it but had to part with it. It was only an S pack with the square grill and it towed so well. It just kept going.
Very very well done video, it sums the AU up perfectly, the editing was on point but most importantly the story of the Au got told perfectly. It was a pleasure to view.
Thanks mate, glad you liked it!
Awesome video dude. I've lived in the UK for 10 years and this was just what I needed to remind me of home!
The production / editing value is top notch. I will probably never see a ford falcon in my life. But this video helps with that.
Seriously good. Both review and the car. Where are all your subs?? I have an AUII XR6 ute and love it to bits. Tough as nails and doesn’t ask for more than a tank of fuel and oil change every so often. My ugly duckling. Great piece of commentary. Well done. 🤙🏽
Actually not so bad looking. I like that they used the trusty straight six engine that Ford sold here in US. That engine might have been a good fit for the Ford pickups, like they were before, but with the modernized design used in this car.
Great edited video. I loved my AU Falcons - had 3 of them.
This isn't Regular Car Reviews. I've been had.
I can definitely see how the looks were polarising back then, but looking back now it just seems like another rounded early 2000's car. Which means it was ahead of its time
Nice report. 😀 I owned a 1999 AU Fairmont wagon for many years. Great machine. Gave it to my son who drove it even further. Then I bought a 2010 Focus 2 L turbo diesel with the wet clutch auto. This car is still going well with my daughter. I replaced that with a 2008 BF Falcon wagon. Still driving it today, excellent vehicle and superior to the AU in most ways - except that the AU seats were better, and the AU steering was better.
Let me expand on the steering. The AU had variable ratio hydraulic power steering, the variable ratio being provided by the Bishop technology steering rack. This jewel provided more direct steering as you increased lock, and at straight ahead was a very smooth easy rolling feel, such that cruising on the highway was easy and relaxed. Enter the Focus. 11years on design wise and the steering was wooden and needed more attention than the AU on the highway. Enter the 2008 BF wagon. Steering in this car is similar to the Focus - in their wisdom Ford dropped the variable ratio steering and now I have steering which is wooden, does not roll easily from centre and requires more work on the highway than the AU.
I've driven my wife's 3 Commodores, only the last one with electric steering steered better than the AU, and lately I drive a Hyundai i40 (once a week or so for the Red Cross) and the steering on it can be described in the same way as the BF, although it is helped by being lighter.
So there you go, more cudos to the mighty AU. As an afterthought, why did Ford fit a TAPE player to the Fairmont AU. At that time nobody used tapes anymore, I wasn't even able to find a tape in the bottom drawer! I had to go to Dick Smith and buy one of those tapes with a 3.5mm jack wire coming out of it to play my music. . . 🙄🙄
The steering surprised me the most, super smooth and feels very satisfying. Thanks for the comment!
I don't know why this turned up in my recommended, but I'm glad I watched it. This is the sort of thing I wish we got in the States. Sure, we got the Commodore in the form of the Pontiac G8 and the Chevy SS, but we never got the Falcon, and we never got the Barra. And that's a bit sad.
You got the Barra...In fork lifts(!).
I moved to Australia last year and bought a thirdhand falcon last year, its taken me around Australia and my favourite car I have ever driven. I love it !
I moved to Australia in 2006, bought a Falcon and did the big loop. My favourite car ever too.
I had an AU2 wagon with Tickford dual fuel, could do like 1300 Kms on both tanks, very comfortable car and very reliable, bought it because it was more comfortable for me than a commodore and there have always been more old Falcons on the roads than old Commodores and I drive older cars, it was a great car, now I have a dedicated gas BF Falcon which has been a great car for me for nearly 10 years now. What to buy next is a bit of a quandry!!!!!!!
Wow. So wasn't expecting this video to be so professional. Perfectly put together video and car. Well done.

I'm not often commenting on RUclips but this video truly deserves my credits! I had some good laughs and the editing is just breathtaking! You earned yourself a new subscriber!
The look grew on me over time and now I love them. Owned an AU ute for 14 years
That's a long innings! Thanks for watching.
That video-editing showcasing the various models is absolutely amazing! Well done editing!
yeh top job loved it:)
I bought an AU back in 2009 for a roadtrip - fresh out of highschool and never had anything bigger than a 1.8L before, but decided I needed some horses after our poor Camry died en route to the Nullarbor - overworked in the WA summer. I hit up Gumtree.
I viewed an ED falcon for shits, but decided it wouldn't go the distance as the owners informed me that it 'overheats sometimes' while filling the radiator straight from the hose, as I looked on at their bogan mansion (complete with overflowing wheely-bin and sticky barefooted kids who should have been in school at the time).
I viewed a suspiciously cheap V8 VS Commodore, with gold spoke rims and a very enthusiastic seller who took us on a thrash around the block to show us 'she fuckin' goes alright', but decided it was probably just too thrashed-out and far too thirsty.
I viewed an AU in a Kalgoorlie dealership with epilepsy. All of the electronics were truly fucked; lights flashing on and off randomly, doors locking and unlocking themselves non-stop from the moment you turn the key, rough body and a slightly concerning 330,000km on the clock and passed up on it, but something stuck... _she's not pretty but I reckon she'd go the distance_
I settled on an ex-realestate agent's car. A sporty red 2000 AU II Falcon with spoiler and alloy rims, single small scratch on the door handle and 220,000km on the clock. $3200, cash in hand, rego transfer papers signed off on the boot lid, done deal. She was a mighty AU falcon which would go on to do 6,000km across Australia in the next 8 weeks - from cruising at 140kph on the Nullarbor to the shaky unsealed back roads of coastal South Australia, from the Great Ocean Road and rolling hills of inland Victoria to the windy mountain roads of Kosciuszko, the stop-start traffic in Sydney and all the way up to Cairns. She never missed a beat!
She was smooth and quiet, sitting effortlessly on 110 even with an arse full of tents, tools, baggage and 3 adults. Need to overtake some grey nomad with a Maui going up-hill? She'd roar to life and leave them in the rearview mirror. Never overheated and surprisingly wasn't even that thirsty. The AU falcon was the perfect Australian touring car. I fell in love.
I ended up regretfully selling her (for more than I paid), but went on to buy another AU and 2 BF Falcons since then. I became a sensible-6-cylinder-overhead-cam torque connoisseur in an economical-4-cylinder man's world.
It's interesting that the car was panned for its design in the 1990s, but has aged better than most of its contemporaries.
It may seem strange to some but the most unloved falcon ever seems to have been a decade too early and really styling wise seems to fit here and now. This is a great review and to be honest it seems there are more AU Falcons than VT's on the road at least in QLD. Good work guys !
Great video, mate. The Au Falcon is one of the most underrated, reliable cars ever made. Sure they may look like a spannered crab, but they are very reliable.... I myself own an AU, it has close to 400k kms on the clock but still runs like a dream, it has never let me down, the only work ive had to do to it is replace the alternator, power steering pump, and power steering switch in the 3 years ive owned it. They are an Aussie classic. You and Barry keep up the good work now.
Glad I'm not the only 1 with a soft spot for the Always Ugly falcon😉👍
Incredible editing and really enjoyable video. Cheers from Brazil
Almost all of them are handsome cars yall were just picky.
Literally were all ugly and the interior even worse some how. You have disgusting taste.
@@boostjunkie2320 Nothing coming out in the 90s or early 2000s had a good interior, they were all plastic and plain. You can only then rate them nowadays by how well they hold up physically, which I can't speak on because I don't live anywhere these were sold. As far as looks it's much more sleek and shapely than all of it's big plain square sedan contemporaries that seem to be popular in Australia. Australian muscle car taste seems like it never left the square bigbody phase of the 60s and 70s. It's not really as good of a look on a 90s car.

Aussie without being over the top bogan. Subbing 😁
I owned a series 2 AU and have lots of mates that have had them over the years as well.
I also owned a VT and whilst I still prefer the exterior look of the commie the falcon did everything else better.

If you don't intend on keeping yours please make sure it goes to a good home, there's so much life left in it for someone to enjoy.
Solid and well edited video and spot on review on what was then a publicly maligned car is now an iconic and well beloved meme.
the AU will never be forgotten, its shapely figure is seared into the nations eyesockets from countless hours spent on the m1 between stepmums hosue in darlinghurst and dad's house in cessnock.
I own an Au series 3 falcon. It has 235 000kms on it, and everything works. I look after it, oil every 5000kms, Trans 50000kms. I replaced the ignition system, and injectors and fuel pump with aftermarket, but apart from that it's standard. It has excellent performance, and by locking the torque converter by selecting 3rd for speeds under 80km/hr, I achieve on average 10 litres per 100kms on regular E10.
I prefer the single overhead cam straight 6, just more simple. My car seems to be quicker than the BA's.. even though their figures are better for peak power and torque. I can consistently do 0-100kms in high 7 seconds. Standard cam and all.
I drove many as cabs. Ahh memories. I preferred them to the BA and BF. I did a shift in an AUII with 700,000km and was smooth as butter (gorgeous actually) and made the most amazing transmission whine. It was like fine music!! The body felt as tight as a drum.
My mum's partner has an AUII ute with a canopy and it drives nicer than my NC II (un)Fairlane V8.
That's cool. It'd be cool to get hold of one and take a look, especially if it was still running on the original engine.
@@MotoringBoxTV the manager at a taxi base showed me an EA engine with it's head off and recall he said it had done similar km, if not more, and he got me to try and move the piston crowns side to side and they were all firm.
@@droolooze6811 I heard of them getting 1 million km on one engine. 2 factors: engine hardly getting cold except when the car needed mechanical work, and 2 their bottom end was very tough.
@@droolooze6811 who made it smelly? Yep the stupid crazy public.
Nothing wrong with the look of the AU, IMHO. It was the first Falcon I had paid attention to since the XC (yes I'm that old and owned a few). After they toned down the AU Falcon shape they went back to Boring rectangular boxes that hardly differed year after year. Your story should also have made mention of the return of the ozzy made 1 tonner ute in the AU which even made Holden re-enter that market after nearly 2 decades absence.
Ford: We've spent a lot of time on this car, it's perhaps the best car you can get for your money.
Australia: But it looks kinda funny
Could not agree more, one the best cars built in Australia in terms of reliability and drive ability. I had an AUII Fairlane, way comfier than my WM caprice.
Fantastic video mate. Excellent editing and just well put together. Throughly enjoyed watching. Have owned many models of ford but the AU will always have a special place in my heart.
I truly dont think the AU will be forgotten in time. With the social media love it receives, the old bangas on the local skid pad and the still mint looking bone stock rollers, I think itll live on
First video I've seen from this channel. Amazing work, guys! You earned my subscription! Keep up the awesome work mates!
I bought a second hand AU wagon for a thousand bucks, it was a bit knocked around but it sure was a nice car to drive especially on the long drives on the Stuart highway from the Northern Territory to South Australia. Very comfortable and economical, certainly one of my favourite cars!
I owned the Ford Falcon TE50 2001 model .
It came out at just under $80,000 in N.Z, I purchased mine for 40k..........220kw hand built V8 engine with tiptronic on the steering wheel ....it was a rocket, great car and now a collectors item.

13:43 - LOL the Cockroach of Australian cars. I like it.
Always thought it, like the Taurus, looked like a cockroach.
@@coreycarpenter2489 agree, geez that thing was ugly.. not a good time for design at Ford.
I love my AU. I have a series 3 wagon now but had a series 3 sedan about 10 years ago. Sure they have their issues but it keeps running like a trooper.
Interesting having the in line 6 cyl that has it's roots back to the old 170 CI we had in Canada back in the 60's . I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred , this car reminds me of it some.
I have an au2 wagon - best car ever baught new from ford drive her every day still 👍✅
Love the wagons, thanks for watching!
This popped up in my recommendations and I couldn't be happier! Great content, fantastically shot and edited, delivered with charm and eloquence! Subscribed in Texas, looking forward to more reviews in the uncanny valley of Australian cars from American marques!
It's fantastic to learn about cars from other nations. Thanks for sharing the story of this....um, very unique looking....Ford! Now excuse me, I'm going to get a sausage and subscribe!
The food analogies are always my favourite and man the editing you do to make that car look like its counterparts...
It's like if Americans treated the Buick grand national like a 90s Toyota Corolla.
By far the greatest video in the history of RUclips.😍🥰😂
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it.
I Used to have a Matchbox Car of this, the Paint has since worn off to the point where there is no more Lettering just the Black and white Police Style Paint and Red Lightbar. I Never Knew what car it was until i saw this video.
For those who were wondering, It was based off the Forte AU Falcon.
