    Your honesty is appreciated. Not everyone would admit to f#cking up. Most RUclipsrs would cut to the end and say they are the best at what they do. You're showing everyone that you're human and will make mistakes.

      I'm not mechanic too,but RUclips, repair book give to me some nolige. You are done good job,but if clips on back of rail is not properly lock you have vacuum in this spot and your ECU will have problem with mixture air and fuel and he will be confused. Stereoscop is good for checking injectors clicking. I don't trying to criticised you only I'm trying to solved problem with injectors from ebay maybe they are good but isue clips don't hold injectors proper in rail.

    Another good video Sean. It gives those who have no idea what to do a good idea on how to change the injectors.
    With mine, I went Bosch but I exchanged my old ones at Repco. I also cleaned out the fuel rail due to the fact that living on the Mid North Coast of NSW, we do get crappy fuel from time to time. I filled up one day into flooding at a petrol station that wasn't affected & they had bad fuel so I'm waiting to get through the tank. At the time replacing the injectors, I replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs & leads. I found I was still having the same problem & found it was my new Bosch leads so I ended up replacing them with a better brand & it worked perfectly after that.
    If you got a mechanic to do it, they would charge like a wounded bull. I still recommend that if you can do it yourself (with a mate if possible), it'll be easier.
    Had to laugh at the vaseline innuendos.

    Great job! Your injector story reminds me of when I replaced the injectors on my wife's corolla to solve an intermittent starting issue (occasionally misfired for a few seconds on startup). I bought a set of 4 "remanufactured" injectors from a guy on trade me. Car started great with the new injectors on cold start, misfire gone, however now it struggled to start when hot. Looking closely at the injectors, I realised 2 of them had different part numbers. I sent them back to the seller and he sent me a new set of injectors with matching part numbers. Went to start the car after installing them and the engine immediately hydro locked. Much swearing later I disvovered two of the injectors were stuck open. After hand cranking the engine to expelling all the fuel, I put the original ones back in temporarily and had ended up paying $1000 nz for Bosch ones. Super easy mistake to make as injectors are expensive and it's really tempting to try to save some money. Good on you for getting the car running great in the end.

      When you think about it, they're probably one of the more critical parts when it comes to how an engine runs. So yes, it doesn't pay to skimp out.

    Good job is done.I have replace injectors on Ford Falcon Ba and first I have connect injectors on side of rail and I have instaled clips for injectors which is not easy they should click on bottom and they should not move left or right which mean clips is instaled properly.After that I push all 6 injectors in manifold and after rail bolts were installed.On Ford Falcon idle adjusment should not be touch ,because bolts can crack ,because they made them from plastic.If adjustment bolts can be moved paper clip should be connect on TPS conector earth wire silver -red and another clip to signal wire yellow and conect voltmetar and in idle if is proper adjustmet reading should be 0.6 to 0.9 V. If is idle low screw shoud be adjust in plus.Wide open trotle engine off when you press pedal down should be reading 3.5-4.7 V. It is proper way of adjusment of TPS and idle screw. WIRE BROWN -YELLOW is 5 V power for TPS and never put paper clip on that wire should be market adevice Voltmetar or ECU can be damaged.

    Most manufacturers of Injector Cleaner will stipulate, when asked, that their product is more for maintenance than for fixing gacked up injectors. There is merit in running some injector cleaner through every couple of months (dependant on driving frequency) to keep the new ones working as good as new for longer.
    Thanks for the video, Sean. The POV works well, I’ve put injectors on my AU to-do list now.

    Another awesome video man. I am no mechanic (a Mechanical Fitter by trade), but I love having a go at things myself. Not only does it save you money, but it teaches you so much new stuff about the vehicle you are working on. On top of that, you don't have to be worried about paying mechanics to NOT do what you've asked them to do... And to be honest, you can do the work better yourself if you take your time and use basic common sense. My comment is not a mechanic bashing session by any means as I know there are good ones amongst them, it's just the shit ones make it bad for the good ones. And basically people tend to want to learn and do stuff themselves properly.
    I love the fact that you are giving it a go and I totally admire that. Stuff the keyboard warriors man, I learn something new in every video you publish. Keep up the great content. 👌

    My old girl 1997 el ford falcon shes just had some new spark plugs put in her dont know if they have ever been changed but shes been running rough at idle alot of the time, cold starts it idles fine but once it warms up it develops a bad misfire so next thing ill put some new injectors on her she has done 210k kilometers the pain isnt in the best condition but shes always reliable i think i have an automatic transmission leak very slow one but im hoping it has a fill plug on the side of the transmission so i can top it up there is no dipstick so cant tell how low it is for sure but it does slip early in the morning going around the corner at the end of the street so id say she's just low enough for it to start becoming a problem, cheers for the video its extremely helpful also if you had a video on replacing the cab air-conditioning fan id love to see that mines gone but it seems like a full dash removal to replace bit of a big job the ac works fine tho

    • @MotoringBoxTV
      @MotoringBoxTV  2 года назад

      Hmm that's a strange one. I'm no expert but I'd say something is being affected by heat so I'd be checking the ignition coil or the distributor. Engines typically inject more fuel when cold so I would be surprised if the injectors are causing any issues when hot. I think EL's didn't have a dipstick on the gearbox so you may be up for the same job that I had to do. If it has one you'll see the dipstick on the driver's side of the engine right up against the firewall.

    • @sandy1234853
      @sandy1234853 2 года назад

      @@MotoringBoxTV yea no dipstick for gear box. anyway ill update you on what's happend so far.
      topped up the gear box was about 1L low was slipping before now its brand new ill call it rebuilt haha
      new injectors proper ones flow matched copied your video for the install went in without much issues did have one leak on first inspection but the metal clip was not put on correct just fixed it and sealed up perfectly
      New fuel filter dont know who put the old filter on but it wasn't the right one lol luckily they didnt chop the flared ends off and the nuts were still there just freely moving about, the fuel coming out of the old filter was black so can say it was about due the new one bolted on perfectly didnt leak at all
      after all of that the car drives great but the miss is still there only at idle and only once its warmed up im thinking fuel pressure regulator or the sending unit in the tank might be bad and its not holding pressure i noticed when taking the injectors off and the fuel filter there seemed to be no pressure behind it just leaked out slowly once it was lose so i dont know could be many things its not that big of an issue in my eyes under throttle its smooth and reliable and plenty of power.
      BTW when i say bad misfire i really mean its mild and not all the time just makes the rpm drop then it revs up and does it some more then it will settle its a bit random might be a drop of fuel pressure for a moment then returns could be a vacuum leak i really dont know the timing chain could be warn out and its out of time or the distributer needs replacing or even the coil id have to set some time aside to diagnose it
      my main issue is the cab ac fan is dead but its a full dash removal to replace it the ac itself works just fine i can hear the gas moving through the system when you activate the ac just no fan to blow it around so one day ill fix it but its one big job

I bought a set of no name idler pulleys for my BA and they only lasted a few months before needing to be replaced. One was literally falling apart. Same thing with bonnet struts. Bonnet struts aren't a big deal but if it's an important part, get OEM or an otherwise trusted brand. They just work and unless it's a consumable part, you won't have to replace it again.

      The spray pattern will tell u what injectors are like. Attach current to - and + the + should be marked on side then fit a rubber tube over in end. The big rubber seal comes off. Don't try and take the small one off. Seal a tube spray in rubber tube. Connect + and squirt it fru. Injectors will make a small click noise when opening.

    It's an intake air leak OR MAP Sensor issue OR low fuel pressure ( check delivery rate & regulator on the rail ).
    Other than that its the ECU/PCM. ( poor hot water over it when cold test! )
    Leads on an AU MUST be covered in plastic conduit anywhere they can touch metal.
    Eagle brand box sets of 8mm leads are best.
    Thermostat should have 2 holes opposed on outer rim to allow water flow before opening too( HOT TIP ).
    You should also reset KAM Values after making base idle changes. ( KEEP ALIVE MEMORY )
    Is the start issue solved or did it just seem to be but came back?

      Depends, I'm used to it but some people will consider them thirsty. Depending what sort of driving you do you might expect 12L/100km for a mix of town and highway for an AU 6.

Third time I learnt a bit about the bosch EV1 connectors and realised it's a spring clip, all you have to do is press on the flat wire and the sides spring out - leave the clip where it is - and you can easily just pull off the plug :D
