....you can buy off the wall kits for closer to $2k, my buddy pulled the parts of a an XR6 at the wreckers, cost him a few hundred. Can do it way cheaper then $8k.
I've seen a stock unopened Intech make 400whp reliably for years smashing limi as a skid car with a turbo an ECU some injectors and fuel pump about $1500 worth.
I turboed my ef xr6 for roughly $7k including Haltech 750 $1600ish new Deka 650cc injectors $200 s/h Walbro 255 $120 new FG intercooler $150 s/h Turbosmart fpr $230 new Snort intake plenum $1200 s/h Snort exhaust manifold/dump/turbo $500 T56 swap with twin plate clutch $2500 Misc $500 Then + $1k for tune / plugs/ petrol etc. 9psi it made 320rwhp and 540nm torque
Dont forget to reinforce the flywall around the clutch cable so it doesnt tear out, unless your going to run a hydraulic clutch. Get a Mal Wood quick shift for the T5. As much as you probably dont want to, wrap the exhaust pipe or get some heat shielding to at least cover the brake booster (It will get too hot and split) and wrap/shield down underneath to around half the drivers seat as the tunnel floor and insulation can get a bit warm/slow burn type of thing. Unsure if Race Brakes Sydney still make a 330mm rotor kit calliper kit that didnt change the offset. Same as Whiteline suspension had adjustable swaybars, better rear trailing arms and watts link. Does Snort Performance exist? you could a bolt on kit back in the day for about 6k How much boost are you going to run? You used to able to run about 8PSI on stock everything with no J3chip. Its probably been close to 15 years since I got out of the Falcon game but remember it like yesterday.
Beautiful job on the engine bay considering it was using rattle cans i can now see where money goes for a turbo conversion and why BA-FG turbo models hold their value too cheers
Great video! It adds up quick! Make sure you have the high current bulkhead fittings, Raceworks do two versions and only one is rated for the current a 525 can draw 👍
Considering doing a very basic budget turbo on my ed and would like to run as much standard gear as possible. J pipe and maybe not intercooled. Not looking to make power just add a little grunt and make the car more efficient. Anything in particular you would absolutely recommend I do? Being silly not intercooling it? Any help much appreciated. Great video👍🏼
Cool video thank you so basically I need to spend 10 grand on my xh xr6 manual Ute with the red AU Intech I already fitted.. I love ef el and xh falcons brought and sold quite a few but my favourite is my genuine xr6 series one navy blue xh Ute
I'm old. This stuff is really cool but much more complicated than my hey day. Mostly, we just put in the biggest engine we could afford, and that would fit. I have an Au ute 5speed. But I think all this might be a bit beyond my capabilities. 300kw sounds good, though.
Great video there, Nathan, and keep up the good work regards from William. I forgot to add the total cost, for anyone that's wondering full retail on all those parts is over $8K!!
Seems reasonable

Once again you have blessed our eyeballs and ear holes with excellent content. Very keen to see this car finished
Nate bro your build is honestly real tidy (bar the bogga welds) keep it up bro up the EF
thanks mate!

Turbosmart fpr $230 new

Then + $1k for tune / plugs/ petrol etc.

Nice result bro 👍👍

Malwood pedal pin kit with it helps the pedal box
Good info there mate! More than just bolting a turbo onto the side of the engine like most people think!
Thanks man! Yeah i wish it was just that haha. Your ef is a perfect candidate for a clean turbo build!
@@nathanpaykin Keen to one day!
that was an interesting choice to go with the nearly forgotten falcon generations
Beautiful job on the engine bay considering it was using rattle cans i can now see where money goes for a turbo conversion and why BA-FG turbo models hold their value too cheers
thanks mate! Yeah turned out better than i expected

Good on you Nath!
Can't wait to see this thing go!
One day, I'll have a turbo car just like mr Nathan
🤣 hopefully you have less headaches

Gotta do a video together when yours is done! My stock auto EF XR6 Vs your turbo manual EF XR6!
Not sure if you've covered it, or if someone has asked already.
But, are you going to be running the stock XR6 diff and gears?
Hey mate could you do this with a standard stock auto EF or EL 1995 and a 1998 or does it need to be manual for the turbo cheers
Happy to see you turbo the intech rather than a barra swap
do ya still have your old K freme for sale

You should have bought a factory xr6t kit and added a bigger turbo cause it's 1 much cheaper and 2 its much simpler and easier to do
I was just thinking the same thing lol 😅 there still should around unless the US as taking them all 😅
i nearly have all the parts to start my eb Fairmont turbo build im already at 10k and haven't bought ecu yet 😓
what was the total cost
Give or take 7.5-8k 😬
@nathanpaykin worth it
Great video there, Nathan, and keep up the good work

Thanks Will! Im always up to date with your videos :)
I watched this vid about a year to late lol 20k on a 600 dollar au ute
a good fuel system, wastegate and tune are whats worth spending money on
I’m doing a xf falcon build
Nice only problem is are you staying 3.9 or going 4L?
@@snapped4433 I’ll be going 4L
@ricky_james69 alright good was going to say have fun with all the emissions crap 😂💀
Should video it all, be keen to follow along
Should of kept the ef motor eb and ef have the stronger rods the au
I’m still gonna turbo my au xr6
get rid of that button clutch, t5 hate them
If you're gonna do it, budget 10k at a minimum and get decent parts
With me personality the ed intakes are crap compared to ef/el
What's for breakfast...
Classic one, mate.
That's funny as xxxx.🤣🤣🤣Evil Lol 👀 rolling
That's pretty cheap to be honest. Cam and Intake on a V8 costs about that much
Concidering you can by a ba falcon xr6 turbo thease days for 1500 yup u wasted ur money big time .
Where are you finding ba turbos for $1500 I'd really like to know 😂
@@bradleyadams5167 me too. I have an X6 turbo hear for 30 grand if anyone wants
Nice build it’s taking too long though it’s getting boring
Pull your head in 🤡
