Happy new year everyone , talk to ya’s soon in the comments 🍺🍺🍺👍
Easily one of my favourite RUclips channels for car revivals! No pretense, honest and humourous. Mick you're a champion!
Cheers mate i appreciate ya saying 🍺🍺👍
100% agree
I never thought I'd be old enough for an xf to be a classic
Hahahah yep i hear ya 🍺🍺👍
Another top video mate, when cars were fixable with tools rather than computers 🍻
👍🍺🍺
Definitely my favourite car channel specially us Aussies can relate to these old gems. Looking forward to the next crop Michael.
Heaps coming mate of all brands 🍺🍺👍
Those cars cleaned up nicely compared to what they were when you first got them
100% mate they have come a long way🍺🍺👍
That VB commodore will look good in my driveway👍👍
Hahaha 🍺🍺👍
@@backshed5295 I changed the tranny fluid in the Mrs Captiva twice "3 months intervals" & was blacker than my rottweiler😂
I think I want the XF now👍👍
Pretty sure that panhard rod might have been on backwards as the bend helps it clear the exhaust but it’s in the wrong side in your video. 🤷♂️
If lowering it these early commodores need adjustable panhard installed or they scrub like mad on one side.
Ill look into that one mate🍺🍺👍
Yep spot on,, bend goes on the passenger side to help exhaust clearance-flip the rod around & happy days 👍
Great vid Mick always enjoy cant wait to see the next one cheers mate
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
I am betting that these two vehicles move very quickly, most likely a Christmas or New Years present. Both would be a good vehicle to have. All the best for 2024 and I look forward to the next lot of cars coming
Cheer shane and yep both sold already mate 1 within 24hrs and the other 48hrs 🍺🍺👍
No surprise..They know they're getting a great car .. (saw the add for commodore)
well done Mick - thanks for providing some quality entertainment & tips 👍
Cheers mate ya more than welcome 🍺🍺👍
Damn it, I wanted that commodore!
I wanted to wait till the end of the video, and it probably don't matter now if you've sold it but i had a feeling that panhard rod is supposed to be bent like that so i went out and had alook under my VL and it is. The thing is your panhard bar is upside down sort of. The drivers side is ment to be on the passenger side. My bar runs parallel with the diff housing then kicks up to the mount on the passenger side.
Mick think your show is great and always look forward to the next one. Keepem comin man, absolute legend.
Hahhaha really ! Hahhahha
I thought it was bend as hahahha🍺👍 im not that familiar with commodores to know , i have way to many cars to know all about all hahaa🍺🍺👍
From memory (a poor one), one reason for the bend was clearance to the exhaust during movement and full suspension travel regardless of exhaust size. Plus allowing a universal fit for sedan, wagoon and ute.
I cant recall where I heard that or if I made it up myself 😂 there's at least 2 or 3 different bushing sizes which no one seems to mention when buying new ones. I learned that one myself haha 😂🤕🍻
I was hoping you'd be back soon into the new year. I know you can't keep em all but I'm glad you're saving these old cars. Hope you have a great year in 2024 and find some more gems.
Strap ya self in mate ive been busy buying hahahha 🍺🍺👍
I’m learning so much from your efforts. Thanks for taking time to explain things like you do. Must admit my love for the XF ute. Mint!
Too shiny for me mate🍺🍺👍
51:02 classic!!! “Whatever” 😂😂
Hahaha 🍺🍺🍺
The Val with a big cube small block Mopar would be a killer sleeper..$$$ yeah but you could handle it and do it
Cheers mate 🍻
🍺👍
You made me get motivated to get back to my xc ute. Mick. It's been sitting for 2 years.😂😂
Stop talking and get into it hahhahah🍺🍺👍
Okay boss,😅@@backshed5295
Hope there comes a time soon, that I can buy one of your projects.
👍🍺🍺
You’re a champion Mick, keep ‘em coming!
I will mate 100%🍺🍺👍
Great channel. Superb as usual Mick. Cheers.
Cheers mate🍺👍
We dropped a Datsun down on a two poster to get a gearbox back in. Piece of wood on a jack and lowered the hoist down on it. Took the load off the arms and the bloody jack rolled away car fell on the mechanic and shattered his pelvis. Lucky it had the wheels on. 40 years ago and it still makes me shiver. As you said. DON’T
DO IT.
100% mate 🍺🍺👍
Going to be a brilliant 2024 as long as you keep up the great content young Mick.
Too kind Dale 🍺🍺👍
Happy new year Mick. Love your videos mate.
Cheers mate thanks for coming back for another🍺🍺👍
Best of luck in the new Year. Central California watching
Thanks mate and thanks for watching over there 🍺👍
Another 2x classics back on the road! Nice work mate!
Cheers mate i do love finding them but ive only got so much space and $$🍺🍺👍
I only discovered your show a couple of weeks ago and have been catching up. Love rhe show and seeing some great cars in familiar landscapes. I'll keep a look out for when you have something coming up for sale. Keep up the great work mate👍
Cheers mate 🍺🍺👍
Bloody fantastic video, thank you. Taking my first break in 4 years. It's different, but enjoyable all the same. Cheers.
Cheers mate , 4 years sounds like you deserve a break🍺🍺👍
Wealth of knowledge and i learn atleast a thing or two every video
Hhahaaha is one of the things you learnt is that in a idiot? Hahhaha 🍺🍺👍
Also Mick onall commodores remove the plastic grommets in front of rear wheels in sills hose the sills out too stop rust
🍺👍
Great work. This mechanic enjoys watching your channel. Keep em coming
Cheers mate 🍺🍺👍
Its really cool to see you bring these cars back to life I know I would love to own either , someone's gonna enjoy these 2 for years to come and they wont be sitting in a paddock somewhere rotting awesome job Mick
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
cool cars man love the 79 commy. hey man I just use the same shims on the same side that they come from and just put your crown wheel on a new center. I do it all the time with E serries Falcon diffs. I change ratio all the time with em too but once there cracked it's much easier each time.
Great to see some vids mick, all the best for 24 mate.Aussie Graham.
Cheers Graham thanks for coming back mate 🍺🍺🍺
Love this stuff.
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
love the safety boots
Hahha holiday mode ! 🍺🍺👍
Great stuff as always mick
Cheers mate i appreciate ya saying 🍺🍺👍
Love the show on most ford diffs there is usually a bolt that’s larger in the bottom centre on the rear of the diff that is the drain and you don’t have to damage the gasket that one bolt just comes out and it drains through it
Not the Ute!
Cheers mate i didnt know that 🍺🍺👍ive got that many cars i cant be an expert on all hahhah🍺🍺🍺👍
Yeah no one knows it all I do mainly fords besides my charger and 240z and most my knowledge is from other blokes any way.
I seem to break a lot of stuff so I’m working on my cars more than I’d like to I’m surprised you don’t have guys in the comments on about the chrome sockets on the impact too lol 🍻
Happy new year to you and family mate and like others have said back shed is my favourite RUclips channel always a laugh and always learning thank you so much and I really appreciate the time you put into this channel
Cheers mate ya too kind🍺🍺👍
Hope you had a Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year
To you too mate🍺🍺👍
I had a 253 low comp in a HG Prem great economical motor.I changed to a Chev gave to brother in law with trimatic he put in HQ wagon used it for years even towing The 2 axle caravan everywhere was rebuilt when I got it Then when into nephews HK smashed everything he got in maybe why he chose the Army for a carreer
🍺👍
Maybe the commy wants to stay? His playing up. Doesn't want to leave lol
Always the way hey mate.
On your way to do the final step. Rego. They'll let u down every time
100% hahaa🍺🍺👍
That XF ute looks Beautiful man👍, great work & the Commodore too👍
Cheers Chris🍺👍
@@backshed5295 i just did the diff fluid in my AU sedan last week 🤣
& rhe FD a few months ago
word of advice and this happened to me a few times , always crack open the filler plug first before draining 😁👊👍
Ok yeah i hear ya i can see the benifit of that , no glug glug stuff hahhah🍺🍺👍
@@backshed5295 the main reason is if the filler plug is jammed up and you cant refill it 😂👍
Yeah ok i get that 🍺🍺👍
i did a rwc on a Nissan ute but it was really a XF ute ,maybe 15 years ago ,never seen one since ,love this channel makes me feel like im home on the property with my dear ol dad ,he would off been your biggest fan ,im sure hes subscribed from heaven ,happy new year mate
Ive seen one of them years ago too , sorry to hear of your dad passing mate but flattered my channel has good memories for ya 🍺🍺🍺👍

Hahaha yep🍺🍺👍

🍺👍
Happy New Year Mick.
If i had the money, i would buy that Commodore and ship it to Europe. Then i would go searching for a Opel Commodore C and change it to left hand drive.
But sadly im not that loaded☹
Thanks for the video.
Cheers mate thanks for coming back again for another 🍺🍺👍
Awesome Mick great work have great new year , cheers , shaneo, Nelson, NZ 👍🍺🍺
You to mate
🍺🍺👍
I’ve got a feeling the commodore pan hard bars are meant to have a bend in them. I’m to clean to go out in the shed and look but pretty sure
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Always a great watch looking forward to whats next happy new year mate all the best for 2024 💯👌

Heaps of new cars coming mate for all brands 🍺🍺👍
Classic Mick......enough said 😂👍🍺🍺🍺
🍺🍺👍
Good stuff Mick 👍
Cheers ned 🍺🍺👍
You're an absolute golden source of ideas, mate! My XR6 got written off for a bent tub. I fixed it with a chain and some hard jerks. Profit $7700 bucks! Oh, except I'd spent $2k on a parts ute, and $5k on a daily driver... It helped that for some reason, I had a spare tailgate and a set of tail lights. I would probably never have even tried if you hadn't inspired me. I'd have been seriously interested in that Falcon otherwise...
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Love it 👍🍺
🍺👍
Happy New Year mate love your Work safe approved safety boots the XE is a ripper imagine a 302-351 in it and a few finishing touched love it in my collection and you did a great job on the Ford ute too well everything you touch turns to gold
Hahha thanks mate but im not sure about gold hahaha maybe rust hahhah🍺🍺👍
Awesome work as always mate
Cheers mate🍺🍺👍
3mm difference. If you corrected the full 6mm, you would have a 6mm error the other way.
28 + 3 = 31 and 34 - 3 = 31.
Hahha i left it alone mate its good enough for me and yeah when you put it like that its only 3 mm , its mint🍺👍
@@backshed5295 yeah, a bee's dicks width.
A bend in your shaft is fine mate
Hhahahha cheers mate🍺🍺👍
Thanks doc 👍
That ute looks like it's got plenty of miles left in it. 👍
🍺🍺👍
Happy new years bud as always it’s what I needed after a big week good old back shed and a few beers 🍻 👌

Nah mate had to work the hole time , maybe next year🍺🍺🍺👍
happy new year Mick cant wait to see what entertainment you bring us this year all the best
Cheers Graham 🍺🍺👍
Yeah hey Mick the car scene around the world is ruined by old dudes wishing they had the cars when they were young. Old days helping mates get cars going. I saw a HQ beside the road very ordinary scared to put a magnet near it
Price I thought $6500 maybe I'm thinking $3500_ $4000 ok
Looked again $65000 for a Kingswood.
Hi mate happy new year to you and your family all the best for 2024 👍👍👍
Cheers mate , hope ya had a good break🍺🍺👍
Hey Mick Happy new year mate & thanks for the great content.
Those 8 bolt Salisbury diffs where as week as piss I went through four of them in my VC when I was younger same thing each time (spider gears)
Roll backs didn’t help much I guess but got quick at changing diffs😂
Hahahah yeah a good roll back sure tested a gearbox and diff hahhaha🍺🍺👍
enjoyed this . good content and i like the mechanics part . i can identify with these cars even if i do live in northern england . i never liked patinated cars but they do have a sort of style of their own , lm 75 years of age now and still love classic cars . my favourite are triumph 2000tc and rover p6 but Holden and GMC , well i had a vauxhall or two
Cheers for watching Dave🍺🍺👍
A bitter sweet moment when you need to sell a car and a ute on and they probably sold pretty quickly
They did mate 🍺🍺👍
@@backshed5295 That's good make room for more classic Australian cars
Like your work buy the way love where u get the cars to just wat im looking to buy something with the work done
🍺🍺🍺
Happy new year Mick ,love the show . I took tip from you and bought a pump for oil just like yours hope it works as well as it did on video.
Cheers mate😊
Cheers for watching Ian 🍺🍺👍
If my mates were helping me with a diff, once fixed it would be burnout test time....and BANG time to fix the diff again. Ask me how I know. Twice.
Hahhahaha i hear ya mate🍺🍺👍
