A couple weeks ago, I turned 50, and I pretty much grew up on Ratt. I remember when this came out (1985) and Ratt was really one of those bands you couldn't get enough of. The model in this video is Marianne Gravatte, 1985 Playboy Playmate of the Year. She also is on the cover of the album that this song comes from, "Invasion of Your Privacy". It's only 35 minutes, but it packs a punch. We were so spoiled in the 1980's with great music!
Especially that opening riff! That was one of the spiciest, most beautiful, bad-ass riffs EVER at the beginning of a song! It will never get old!!! Warren hit it outta the park with that riff!!!
In the 80's I was married to a Rock guitar player in a local band. He was out on stage and I was home having babies. I would take them to the parking lots outside bar stage doors, open the back of the station wagon, open the stage side door, and watch dad while we had a picnic. Good times.
One of my favs by RATT, that riff 🎸😍! "Dance", "What You Give Is What You Get", "Body Talk", "Nobody Rides For Free", "Shame, Shame, Shame" and "Lovin You Is A Dirty Job" are amazing as well . "Giving Yourself Away" is also a great ballad. RATT N ROLL 🤘 Edit: Btw I know I haven't mentioned all RATT bangers 'cause my list would've been too long lol
“Nobody Rides For Free” is a very underrated Ratt song, because it came out for the movie Point Break in 1992, which stars Keanu Reeves & Patrick Swayze. Grunge took over by then, that’s why a lot of people didn’t hear that song. The video is also great, as it shows Ratt playing on the beach at night, with pics from the movie.
This hit #40 on Billboard Hot 100 in 1985. One of 2 Top 40 songs they had. Many big videos on MTV, Lot's of great RATT songs "Way Cool Jr.", "Dance", "Giving Yourself Away", Loving you is a Dirty Job", "I Want a Woman", "Wanted Man", "Dangerous but Worth the Risk" "Lack of Communication" just to name a few.
The opening guitar riff on this song is perfect. "Wanted Man" is another one of my favorite Ratt songs. Bullet Boys are another hair band you should listen to on the channel. "Smooth Up In Ya" and "For the Love of Money" are great songs
Alot of people think this band was underrated. Far from it. 4 of their first 5 albums went platinum or mutiplatinum. Their shows were sellouts. I saw them twice back then. Poison opened on 1 tour.
Love this song... love every song off the Invasion of Your Privacy album. I wish I had pictures of myself in the 80s... my mom lost them. AquaNet is still in use today... my wife uses it 😁😁
Brings back old memories.I can remember seeing Ratt in concert with my buds in the 80's as a long hair teenager. Robbin Crosby the lead guitarist was still alive. They were always one of my favorite bands.
Love this one guys! RATT are brilliant to listen to live in concert🤘You should react to Skid Row - In a darkened room. The voice of Sebastian Bach is absolutely amazing🎤🫶
I used to mow my Dad's 2 acres in Bridge Creek while listening to this tape. Saw them with Queensryche at the the Lloyd Noble Center in 1987, awesome concert! Love your channel and your honest reactions. Watching you two fall in love with the music that raised me is something special. God Bless and Rock On! 🤘
FINALLY RATT! One of the best bands of the 80's! Slip of the Lip, Body Talk, I Want a Woman,Lovin You is a Dirty Job,Never Use Love I could keep going! Ratt N Roll baby!
As teenagers in high school loved this group seen them in live in Concert... Raw music 🎶 🎵 The first time I saw them Bon Jovi opened for Ratt at Mud island in Memphis Tennessee
Great choice guys. I saw Ratt about 10 years ago when they opened up for Def Leppard. Jay, you would have loved that concert! Need to react to "Wanted Man" or "Back For More" next. Thanks. 😎
Easily my favorite Ratt song. With that super heavy bottom end and killer guitars you can't really complain much about this one. The drums literally rattle your spine which is awesome as well. Now I noticed you just mentioned something about delta blues and things of that nature. Why don't you do a movie reaction for the movie Crossroads with Ralph Macchio Joe Seneca and Jami Gertz. Just an absolutely awesome movie if you're into that style of music. I would absolutely love to see that and I guess that's my request LOL thanks for doing what you guys do to keep everybody's Minds occupied and off of negative things.🖤🤘
I saw RATT in concert in August 1985 and Bon Jovi opened for them.Bon Jovi came out with Slippery When Wet album in 1986.RATT put on a great concert! They fizzled out as the years went on,where as Bon Jovi was ready to take off!
That Tour was my first time seeing RATT and Bon Jovi live as well, it was on Halloween night so just a couple of months after you were there. I saw them here in Augusta, GA and was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the stage set, lighting, and the kickin' tunes as well - awesome concert!!!

Bon Jovi came back in 1989 Skid Row opened,by then Bon Jovi was extremely successful..RATT booked a concert here in 1989,but was cancelled due to low ticket sales.
@@chuck4tnvols681 Right on 👍🏻 I too had only known about Bon Jovi after seeing them perform “Runaway” on a tv show called Solid Gold, then later saw the music video on the Mtv 🤘🏻🤘🏻 My friends and I went to see Bon Jovi for both tours, Slippery When Wet (Cinderella opened I believe) and New Jersey with Skid Row on the Bill. Both were incredibly good and fun to witness! We had the pleasure of meeting Sebastian Bach and Rachel Bolan downtown after they finished an afternoon radio interview with the local radio station. That was super cool 😎
That is my Favorite opening Riff on Any Rock Song . Period. I Remember this being played constantly on MTV back in the day. Ratt-N-Roll!! Love Ya Guy's!!!
Ratt is on one of my favorite concerts. Saw them on the reunion tour for the last album they did. It was incredible. Warren DeMartini is an underrated guitar player!
Hey guys, on demand '80s at your fingertips! Happy those that never experienced these times can take them in. RATT had their own groove, Lack of Communication next please! ❤ the photo request.
I saw Ratt in concert back in the day. Bon Jovi opened for them. "You're In Love," is a great song by Ratt. They were hard and heavy and well liked by fans just like Motely Crue was. I had the spandex, spiked heel pumps, hip belts and BIG HAIR too lol
I was in high school during these times LOL, Saw Ratt on every tour, every album sometimes more than once each tour, along with Dokken, BonJovi, Van Halen and anyone that came through St Louis...we lived for concerts, worked our part time jobs just so we could get tickets. I miss the 80's 😭😭😭
7:49 Please check out, “WAY COOL JR” by Ratt, it’s a bluesy groovy (hair) metal song they do and my all time fave by them and no doubt, you’ll both be vibing with this too Fam 🔥🔥🔥🔥.
Ratt, one of my all time favorite 80's bands. Aqua Net is, the hairspray that glued the world! with a little bit of Tears for Fears music in the background.
"I want a woman" "You're in love" both videos are shot at some of their concerts.I hope you get requests for those Amber & Jay.They were great in concert when I saw them
OK. First of all, a great hair band song you should check out is "Mutha" by Extreme.. As for Ratt suggestions, I'll go with "Giving Yourself Away", "I Want a Woman", "Slip of the Lip", "Dance", "You're in Love", "Nobody Rides for Free", "Back For More" and "Body Talk"
I met RATT back in the day. I was 15 in 1986(Invasion of YOUR PRIVACY TOUR) the tour for this song and album. I LOOOOVED this band! Ratt was my first concert....1985!! Bon Jovi was the opening act. Ratt bangers include Body Talk, You're In Love, Loving You Is A Dirty Job, and Lack of Communication!!!
Interesting Fact is that Ratt's manager is Marshal Berle, nephew of legendary comic genius and TV Pioneer, Milton Berle. Marshall had his famous uncle in another Ratt's music video, "Round and Round"
Ratt was my absolute favorite as a teen in the 80s. I went to an outdoor venue south of Phoenix, don't remember what it was called. I was there way early and they let me in, front row. The drummer, Bobby Blotzer came out to jam and came up and sat on the front of the stage, tossed be a beer and BS'd for a few minutes, then he went back to banging on the drums. I'll never forget it.
The song was me at 14 years old. I had the cassette the week it came out. It coincided with outgrowing so many things. And if you were there, you remember the 80s were so awesome
RATT was my 1st concert when I was 16-17. I couldn't afford a t-shirt at the time because I spent most of my money on booze, but I did buy a bandana. Almost 35 years later, I still have that bandana and I just saw Stephen Pearcy play 2 nights ago and did the meet n greet and got it signed. Great show, great night.
Glad y’all got this one, kinda shocked y’all picked this one. You will Body Talk and Your in love . Several more that are fire ! One of my favorite bands of the 80s .
40 years later and I still know every word. Oh the fkn memories I have with this song.... 😪 I cant listen to this stuff anymore. Too painful. The world has turned to sh*t. I saw RATT 4 times. I have permanent hearing loss from the 80's. A daily reminder to just how great those times were. I knew I shouldn't have watched this. I feel SO sorry for the young people today. They have no idea how great it was. I shouldn't have watched this.
Ratt was an awesome band to see live back in the 80s, and I did, at least once. Before Poison, before Guns n’ Roses, Ratt shook up the Sunset Strip in Hollywood and really established the LA hair band scene in the 80s. That really was a helluva time and I was fortunate to be able to experience some of it firsthand! So many great clubs like Gazzarri’s, Coconut Teaszer, and the legendary Whisky-A-Go-Go (which thankfully is still there), showcasing some of the very best rock bands in LA during that time. You really should get several of Ratt’s albums, since each one has at least two or three solid hits. I recommend the songs “Lack of Communication,” “Wanted Man,” “Way Cool Jr.” and “Nobody Rides For Free” for your next Ratt listens.
😂😂Heard this song a million times, owned the album back in the day....Never saw the video! (until now) Great stuff , and thx to RATT for not blocking the vid! Those guys always seemed pretty cool
When Ratt came on the scene, they were a great addition to the uprise of "hair metal"...we were crankin' this stuff! Yes, Aquanet.....as the eighties rolled on, a lot of the "hair bands" were using more of it than the girls....to get that big hair look!
Speaking from someone who was a teenager at this time, it was all that and more than you could ever imagine...crazy fun times back then. Damn I miss those days lol!
Next Ratt song “You’re in love”
Good one along with "way cool junior"
Then Body Talk !
WHY NOT NEVER USE LOVE, DANGEROUS BUT WORTH THE RISK, BETWEEN THE EYES? Might as well start these 2 off with the best.
@@shack8110 the whole IOYP album is tight, wore out 2 copies of it!

The riff from thunderstruck is more iconic
Love RATT!! Guitar solo by Warren DeMartini (so underrated) is some of the best ever!!!
Soooo underrated 💯
Wasn't a big fan of hair metal, but also wasn't a fan of the criticism they endured. These were some amazing technical and serious musicians.

That opening riff is one of my absolute FAVORITES to play when trying out a guitar. So badass and iconic.
Back for More, Way Cool Junior, You're in Love by Ratt are all worthy of a listen. Chicago's very own, Warren DeMartini, is an excellent guitarist.
I saw him in 1985 with Ratt and 1989 on tour with Whitesnake
Back for more is my favorite. Lovin' you is a dirty job would be number 2.

Warren DeMartini was from Chicago???

I liked Ratt but somehow don't remember this song at all.
I like the commercial they were in where the guy told a home owner they had a 'Rat problem'. Ratt was playing in the attic. 😁
i love when you guys unexpectedly drop some banger reactions like this

My favorite RATT song and one of the BEST guitar licks and intros in all of rock. Warren is an insane guitar player.

Lack of Communication, You're in Love, Way Cool Junior... All three definitely worth a reaction.
