  • Welcome to The Scale Modelling Cafe and another Sprue Tour video. As I write this I'm about to fly home for 5 weeks therefore I thought I'd do a few of these types of videos to keep you going until I can get back to the bench in May.
This kit is the Curtis H75N from Clearprop. I think this little company from Ukraine goes under the radar, but as you'll see from the quality of the plastic they are right up there with the best. I hope you enjoy the video, and if you are not familiar with Clearprop I hope that you'll try something from the brand, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for doing the sprue tour Jamie, it looks like a beautiful kit, and that whole Hawk series of aircraft fought or trained all around the world throughout the war, I remember the Hobbycraft kits they were pretty good basic kits of some obscure stuff, but this ClearProp stuff is in a whole other league, and 20 or 30 years more advanced though to be fair.

Lovely looking kit ,it makes a nice change to see a manufacturer doing something a little different as we are spoilt for choice when it comes to Spitfires , Hurricanes and mustang's. I'll definitely be looking out for one of them , especially if they eventually do the P40 . I've just built a hobby 2000 p40 " the lulu Bell "
With wonderful noseart flown by Phillip Adair . What a story he had and what a amazing pilot. It would be Superb if they done a new tool kit of such Aircraft.

It would be great if they could do a P-40 series for sure.

Really good to see these emerging firms choosing different aircraft and schemes from the mainstream. Looking forward to seeing this build Jamie.

Good to see something different. To tell the truth I'm getting tired of P-51s,
Spitfires, Me-109s, you know what I'm getting at.
    Thanks for this teviee.

Excellent review! I ordered this kit as soon as it hit the market and having built numerous Hobbycraft P-36/H-75 Hawks my reaction was similar. Truly amazing on the sprue and the Decograph decals look very similar to those in the newer ICM releases. Very nice. Plus, I finally have an adversary for my Vichy MS.406 in Hutter's markings.

Ah yes, I think they are Decograph. Be aware that these only flew in the Far East and Argentina as far as I am aware, all the others had retractable undercarriage.

@@thescalemodellingcafe Yes indeed. I believe that the one depicted in the boxart was involved in a scrap with Vichy French fighters based near the Thai border.

Loving the scheme featuring the Elephant markings, think I'll order one of these via Andy too. Boy those surface details and in 1/48 scale too, brilliant. Hope the home visit is going well too.

The French flew the H-75 and had some success in it when fighting the German invading forces in 1940. The Clearprop 1/72 Mig 23 looks amazing, a lot more detailed than the 1/48 Trumpeter one.

They didn't fly the H-75N though! This one had fixed gear! My MiGs are inbound, I just had a message!

It does look amazing indeed. It would be really nice if they did expand the range right through to the P-40 series. Perhaps start with an F or L as there seems to be a big gap for these variants in 1/48 especially, I know trumpeter did the F in 1/32 but we all know what youre getting with that. Perhaps they could then move through to the E, K, M and N variants. It's a biased opinion from me being a massive P-40 fan boy but I know there's a lot of us out there. Great review as per usual.
