The Scale Modelling Cafe with Jamie Haggo
Великобритания
Добавлен 18 фев 2022
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to check out my channel. I have been making scale model for many years and have enjoyed watching RUclips modelling content for a long time so I thought it may be fun to join in and create my own channel!
I prefer aeroplanes however I have done some military vehicles in the past and my aim is to do again here from time to time, maybe the odd ship too. However the focus will be on aeroplanes. What I enjoy most is weathering and therefore I choose subjects that allow me to indulge my passion. I do have a few favourites though, Cold War Soviet jets, WW2 fighters, derelict and abandoned subjects and even some Post Apocalyptic machines from my imagination.
Thank you again for the interest. It's a cliche but please Like and Subscribe and of course, don't forget to hit that notification bell to be notified when the new videos come out.

Welcome to part 1 of the new project, a slight departure from my usual format in that I do a short introduction at the start of this video rather than a separate video, it's such a small quick project it wasn't really justified. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

Another Airfix surprise release! Plus a dit on Jet Provost after market
Lovely work, first class. Don’t want to be that guy but…. I think the reflector sight is facing the wrong way!
I love this kit. Bought two
Hello and Happy New Year! Thank you for posting your content and enjoying your conversions. Talking Mk 14, the conversion looks great coming together, and I want a Mk 14 for myself. Do you have any input regarding Airfix’s Mk 14 Spitfire for that build. Something to stay away? I have built 2 Eduard’s Spitfires, Mk I & V, familiar with that kit. Is the conversion a better way to go? Thanks so much and all the best. Doug
Griffon engined high back Spitfire you have my undivided attention.
Great work on the Spit. I love the high back Mk.XIV, in fact I’d say it’s my favourite Spitfire mark, especially in the SEAC colours. Bring ‘em on!
I'm really surprised that no company has picked up on a new tool Canberra (ICM?) - there are just so many versions and schemes, that you could be releasing 1:72 and 1:48 kits for years to come. Everything from a 1951 B.2 to a 2024 NASA WB-57F
I love Spitfires. 👀 I don't have any in 1/32. This could be my NY resolution: to find one. I have them in every other scale 😂
If someone sees the Airfix teaser and guesses correctly, they won't know they're correct until the announcement day. Babies taste of chicken, so you're always going to get a chicken flavour one.
Hi Jamie - great stuff on the Spit.
Two episodes workshops videos sounds very good even for all projects.
I must admit that those Griffon powered Spitfires grow on me, Jamie.... Looking fantastic.... Onwards and upwards, on to the bubbletop!
The statue is of Wilbur Wright. It is at LeMans. My guess is a 1967 Ford GT40 but who knows.
C-48C is the U.S. military’s designation for a DC-3A with PW R-1830 Twin Wasps and a 21-seat interior cabin.
Great Vlog, very entertaining lol
Hiya Jamie. Can't wait to see vids on both these builds, they look fantastic! Doesn't bother me what you do mate, I just enjoy your channel, watching, learning and listening. Interested to see what Airfix are going to be doing this year and equally waiting to hear how much moaning and groaning will be done cos Airfix didn't do a Westland Wapiti in 1/24 scale! 🤣 Enjoy your builds mate, and I'll look forward to seeing your new vids. Stay safe Jamie 👊 Bobby
Fun fact that statue was actually a classic Romanesque statue of Jamie crying to the Gods for wool socks 😂
We talked about this last month Jamie. Talking or doing the same subject time after time will not go down well in the long run. Do you agree ? Great you love the Spit, but over years the community is getting tired of Spits and Mustangs.
As soon as i heard Spitfire, i switched off...more power to you, Jamie If, you like the Spitfire, but personally, i am SICK to the back teeth of Spitfires.
Watch something else idk You know that Jamie will be working on a few Spitfires, as with last year
@irismodelling i will watch something else, and i have unsubscribed from his channel
@irismodelling Sad Typical reply to not seeing this guys point.
@paulmorgan6269 no....its called having a PREFERENCE and having an OPINION, last time i checked i was ALLOWED to have both...and yes,i DO hate the spitfire at tĥis stage.. sorry if that upsets you but i am NOT going to apologise for having an opinion
Reminds me of: Monty Python -SPAM. Spitfire, Spitfire, Spitfire, sausage, eggs, Spitfire, Spitfire, Spitfire. It's Spitfire, Spitfire, Spitfire, Spitfire in 1/24 Airfix Mk.IXcs Spitfire, Spitfire in 1/32 Tamiya. I think that will be enough. There are reveals of three of them on my channel. Spam for me is: Phantom II, Phantom II, Phantom II, Phantom II, Phantom II Phantom II, Phantom II, Phantom II in 1/32 Tamiya F-4E, EJ, Js. Currently working on five kits and considering ordering another.
Looked through my log book while watching this and found XN579 that I flew during training 1988 from Linton on Ouse. Wonderful model, brought back wonderful memories, thank you.
Can you ditch the horrible background “noise”. Unfortunately to hear your commentary, I couldn’t turn the sound off.
All the best for the NewYear those that watch know your difficult life schedule and we appreciate the effort you put in to keep us informed and entertained modelling is such a diverse hobby so you can't build what everyone likes it's your hobby and your Chanel so hopefully we can all comment and keep you motivated to push through best of luck
I need to build mine. It’s a beautiful kit in the box.
Hi Jamie. Will enjoy and look forward to whatever you build and/or show us fellow modellers! Totally understand where you're coming from and I would hate for you to lose your mojo in doing your channel, as I personally (and from the comments on your vids, most people here!) am very thankful that you share your modelling skills and builds on YT. I like the multi stage build video's too, but as you say, a 30/40 minute full build is just as rewarding. One thing I will say Jamie though, if you don't video a build, please please please do a de-brief afterwards!🙏 Oh yeah, and a weekly chat! Sorry! I'm getting a bit of a diva! 😂😂 Seriously mate, do what you want to, I love to watch and listen to whatever you put on here! Most importantly, enjoy what you do, cos that's the point! Thanks again Jamie for all the fantastic content. Take care 👊 Bobby
Hello Jamie, where do you buy your Mr. Epoxy Putty Epoxy Super Lightweight (78g) Modeling from? I have seen it on eBay for £ 25 , where do you buy it from? Really enjoy your channel.
Great plan for the coming year! Fingers crossed it goes to plan! Looking forward to seeing how your 2025 builds come along!! Good luck!!
I started using Ultra Glue recently (inspired by your videos). It is amazing stuff. Strong, slow to dry, easy to clean up with water and dries clear. What more could you want? I'm so glad to get rid of the faff and ugly glue marks of superglue (not to mention sticky fingers and bottles drying out!). My superglue is now only reserved to gap filling and seams!
Thanks
Looking forward to your builds in 2025. I want to try your technique of using super glue for the fuselage half’s. Have you covered this in detail in one of your builds?
Here's to another year of absorbing videos from you Jamie. I'm always learning (from your articles and books too) and the secret to improvement isn't really a secret is it - build stuff and give yourself a chance to make mistakes.
Hi Jamie. Just got to say after being out of action for nearly 4 years and having surgery at the end of 2023 I needed something to take my mind off things and a hobby that didn’t require me to leave the house. So let say my stash grew rapidly. Bored with normal TV I found myself hooked on RUclips and took a while to narrow people down to a handful. Some I’ve not stayed up today with while others I pick and chose depending on their build. Yours on the other hand I’ve watched the lot and plan to carry on this year also, and if I were told I can only watch one model builder from now on then I can honestly say sorry to everyone else but I’m sticking with the cafe. I look forward to a new years worth of viewing. All the best
Good on yer mate! 👍
Hi Jamie, Thanks for an amazing 2024 and Really looking forward to following your builds in 2025. In particular, I'm looking forward to the LF spits and Norseman, and the Tempest will be amazing. I will press the button on the LF 1/24 spit as soon as it becomes available, Love anything that Mathieu produces. many thanks for a Superb experience in 2024 and looking forward to more of the same this year. Cheers, Andrew :)
2025 let s go!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
It would be great to see you build the Airfix 1/24 Scout/ Wasp
Looking forward to your book for sure. Great build plan for the year.
Hi Jamie, wow you’re gonna be a busy boy, congratulations on the views that’s fantastic and good luck with the book. Look forward to your 2025 builds, cheers take care, Liam
Everyone I know just wants you to do a follow up to your Bronco Futuristic scratch build. We all loved that kit. Please really consider this at some stage of this year.
You've got to do whatever works best for you Jamie. It's lovely to have lots of views etc, but as you say, it's your hobby and you have to keep it enjoyable for you. I just like sitting with a cuppa and watching whatever you put out even though I don't make aircraft. I shall still look forward to anything you do mate.
Looking forward to seeing what you present this year - cheers!
Sounds like you've got big plans for this, Jamie! The 356th Fighter Group did indeed have a striking color scheme. I became more interested in the 356th after visiting the museum at Martlesham Heath in the company of aces Clinton Burdick and Donald Straight. Good luck keeping your resolution this year, Jamie, what with Eduard alone promising us their upcoming 1/48th P-40/Kittyhawk series and a 1/32nd P-51B among others. ICM, Arma, and several others are bound to surprise us. Having bought several of their sets last year, I'm looking forward to seeing what LFD has in store for us this year. Highback, razorback, whatever... I once got my hat handed to me on a popular global forum for posting some color images of Seafires on a carrier deck with the title "For all you Spitfire lovers". I figured that although the Seafire is a naval subvariant that the images would be of interest to Spitfire lovers in general. I got virtually torched by about a dozen Brits and even got accused of trying to rename one of her majesty's most famous naval aircraft. My initial thought was "Get a life, you guys", but I apologized profusely for my apparently egregious contextual error and shouted "God save the queen!"
Would love to see an Eduard 1/48 Bf 109K-4 in 2025.
As there is some level of repetition with at least some models, I think you're wise doing some 'for yourself' and 'off-camera' Jamie. A catch-up after completion might be appreciated if there's anything worthy of note, and just so we nosey parkers are up-to-speed on what's been happing behind the curtains... All sounds good to me!
Loving the channel and the content after getting back into modelling at the tender age of 60. Looking forward to see what your upto in 2025
I’m going to be all over some of those 1/32 scale kits, especially the Defiant so here’s hoping Peter decides to release it. I would love a 1/32 scale Roc too 🤞🏻, fighters with turrets look amazing to me.
What a great model. Amazing to watch. Thank you.
Hello and happy New Year . I was considering the Border 1/35 FW 190 A-8 and Aliexpress have them for around £50 including tax and shipping . So if you're tempted 😃😃BTW it was this channel where I heard about LFD as Mathieu was starting it up. Much appreciated .
Really nice new format. My only suggestion is you keep describing the materials, decal brand, tools. That is very useful for us not so experienced modellers. Thanks Jamie...!!
Brilliant Jamie, love the format and the new music, what a great kit, i done one last year and loved it albeit it was the old plastic but still a hidden gem in the Airfix catalogue
Super job on a very impressive kit from Airfix.
Beautiful build, like I said on your year review this one is close to my heart! I personally prefer your usual format, but this way of doing it definitely works really well for those smaller 'palette cleanser' builds such as the little JP.
Looking forward to a great output in 2025. Loving the Laminar conversions. I must do one this year. I also got the Finemolds Zero. It’s a great kit and in my opinion at par if not better than Eduard.
