You never fail to impress Martin. This does look time consuming, but should be worth the result. Thanks for demonstrating the technique and for the tips to make the task easier. Your Fw by the way looks excellent. - Bob
Watching your videos has helped me become a better builder and absolutely finishes a model to look more realistic.Thank You...I have lots to learn and always look forward to your videos.
Hi David, I am very thankful for your videos. You always address topics clearly and answer the questions that pop up in my head ("where did he get those blueprints?"). Also, your encouragement makes me realize that modeling is all about practice. I spend more time reading about it than building because I am intimidated and don't like making mistakes. Perhaps this is the wrong hobby! Or perhaps it is the right one as it forces me to become patient and resilient. Anyways love your videos - they always address key topics which other videos or magazine articles simply don't discuss. Thank you!
Great video Martin, I think you're model making guides are about the best on RUclips. On another video I noticed you sculpted you're own superb figure. I'd love to see a 'how to' covering figure sculpting.
Another informative video David! One question: What do you do with models that have a few engraved molded rivet lines (usually on the control surfaces)? Do you prefer to match the pitch of the molded rivets, or do you fill them and replace them with your own rivet lines? For example I have a Tamiya 1/72 P-51D that has a molded rivet pitch of around 0.8-0.9 mm, while the "real" pitch from blueprints show a pitch of around 0.5-0.6 mm. What would you do when making rivets on the whole plane?
Great video David! Very informative I just happen to have one question: how do you rescribe the wierd shapes on the model like for example circles or rounded corners?
I am currently building an Airfix 1/24 Spitfire Mk Vb as part of a video build for my channel to try and show that even poor kits can have a place in modelling and I have hit a snag on riveting, my riveter which is the more recent Trumpeter labelled one does not match the rivets over the rest of the Spitfire, the original rivets look more like they were made with something like a 1mm hole punch heated up rather than the smaller dots the trumpeter riveter makes, do you have any suggestions? many thanks, Mark
great build as always, and very informative to! one question though, if you have a model that comes with raised rivet details would it be worthwhile to sand off the raised detail and then use the technique of making rivets. or be better to just leave them alone? thanks!
I love the look of the rivets...so I bought a few rivet wheels and rivetted a Revell Beaufighter 1/32 scale...Took a couple weeks...I lightly sanded it and it looked great until I sprayed it and lost all the rivets....Doh!...I haven't given up...I'm working on the old Revell P38 1/32 at mo and I'll be riveting without the light sand this time...
Wooow!!! beautiful work!!!! Your techniques is awesome!!! The riveter has bought it or you have made it by yourself??? thanks for share this tutorial!!
So useful video!!. I have an alternative technique for riveting path, and is using a plastic "For Sale" ban, because it's flexible and solid enough. I wonder if you would show how to deal with old, risen paneled kits (How to clean the risen lines and re-scribing).
How interesting. Nice video. Anyone recall the old Otaki and Aria kits came factory with rivets. Also ICM molds rivets in both 1/72 and 1/48. They are very nice.
Hey PLASMO, can you tell what do you do in order to scribe new panel lines in putty? I got problems with this, dealing with 1-1,5mm gap along panel line with Tamiya Putty White but when it comes to rescribe the line it goes bad and uneavenly (both, wide-wise and depth-wise) even despite scribing along the tape.
I am considering getting back into models. I have not touched one in 40 years. Your work and videos are exceptional. I expect to watch you tutorials often. Thanks for the great work and help.
Hello, I just found your videos and they are some next level stuff for sure. I have a question for you abkut 9:55 the finished painted model shows decals on the wing saying no step in German. When i apply decals they tend to show an edge where the clear film is around the decals and it looks undealistic. Can you make or recomend a video that shows pro level decal work. Also there are sme rivits on the leading edge that are spaced far appart. I assume you used a pin or some other tool to do those individualy by hand, what did you use? Thanks again for all the hard work in making these videos that help us out here take ouf work up a level:)

Great video David! Very informative I just happen to have one question: how do you rescribe the wierd shapes on the model like for example circles or rounded corners?

Please build more FW190's!

když to tak vidím, bych měl možná ty modely někdy taky pomalovat nebo něco :-)
výborná práce!
If I am brush painting, should I do riveting after painting or would it be better to do it after applying a layer of clear gloss?
Incredible
great build as always, and very informative to! one question though, if you have a model that comes with raised rivet details would it be worthwhile to sand off the raised detail and then use the technique of making rivets. or be better to just leave them alone? thanks!
What is that saw bald you use and where can I find one? Great video...
Do you have any tips for making raised rivets like those found on some spitfire kits
Thank you, David, for sharing ! One question : where can we order the Dousek rivet tool (Rosie) ? Cheers from France
Can someone please tell me how to get a silverplate finish on a B-29 superfortress im rather new to this thanks.
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. Can you please tell me where you bought your riveting tool?
Amazing...
Hi, any advice on which type of tape to be used as guide? Thank you
I love the look of the rivets...so I bought a few rivet wheels and rivetted a Revell Beaufighter 1/32 scale...Took a couple weeks...I lightly sanded it and it looked great until I sprayed it and lost all the rivets....Doh!...I haven't given up...I'm working on the old Revell P38 1/32 at mo and I'll be riveting without the light sand this time...

Hi there, great job! Do you have a link for somewhere to buy the wooden riveting tool? Thanks
Hi Plasmo , very instructive videos congratulations, do you use regular black electric tape ?
Amazing tutorial. Can make you a little insecure when you see just how good the detail is. Still, it's about the enjoyment and learning from others.

Stunning work! You make it look so easy :) it's a shame dousek's riveters are so hard to get these days! Can't find them anywhere in Europe!
Great job Dude. TFS,G :)
I am considering getting back into models. I have not touched one in 40 years. Your work and videos are exceptional. I expect to watch you tutorials often. Thanks for the great work and help.
Scratch building is awesome & time consuming
Do you think i should rivet when scale 1:72? Great videos plasmo! I really apriciate the time an effort you put on them. /Andreas, Sweden
Great stuff. Does your "razor saw" have teeth or is it closer to a utility knife blade?
