Papua Guinea culture is so similar to our tribes here in North eastern part of India called Nagaland State. Especially the tattoo faces and the way they prepare food.
I've worked in restaurants for over a decade and all of these dishes blew my mind. I'm so happy for shows like this to show how diverse the world can be.
As an expatriate in Port Moresby who has had the opportunity to travel to various regions of Papua New Guinea, I am incredibly proud of the diverse cultures I’ve encountered. I feel fortunate to have experienced a small glimpse of the local way of life and to have made lasting friendships here.

One of the best parts of this is seeing Papua New Guineans that aren't living primitively. That's not saying anything about those who do live that way, just that over the decades every time you see one it's always indigenes living stone age lives. It's nice to see something different. I love that they all seem warm, friendly, and happy. Almost everyone is smiling. Makes me want to visit to city the big city as well as those who still live the old way. And that's before we get to what is perhaps the most unknown and newest cuisine on the planet. Also wild is that their accents are only slight if you're American. Jamaica is closer and has a harder accent to understand so you would think people on the other side of the world would have a thick accent.
English is the usually the 3rd or 4th language for most Papua New Guineans. Having over 800 laguages means people here are linguistically flexible and don't have much of an accent.
When I heard you came to PNG, I was checking your page to see this video. Thank you for coming and showcasing our culture and food to other people in the world.

I remember being in the hospital for months and still getting an A+ in certain classes because I had such engaging teachers. I legit had an English teacher who broke a fountain pen his deceased father game him while reading us Death of Salesman. I’ll never forget that class and I would always feel proud of my grades because he was the straight reason, it was like watching a play with him every day. Amazing man. I’ve had traditional art teachers who made me feel this way as well. Absolutely beautiful souls made for educating those who want it.
Lamb flap is a Lower rib offcut, and sometimes butchers roll and stuff it.
Boiled banana is indeed an islander alternative to boiled potato to eat with meals.
Great episode, Thank you.

I've been watching your videos for years. Making a video about PNG culture. And also capturing some of the Motuan culture (in which I grew up in) has made me nostalgic. Although you experienced major difficulties in travelling to PNG, you still chose to focus more on the culture and food. That is why you will always be the Best Ever Food Review Show!.
Well done, Sonny and the team.
I've always said look after your own backyard first. But Australia should be doing a hell of a lot more for Papua New Guinea.
Thanks,

There are a lot and variety of cooking styles to what you have shown on this video. Otherwise, you have made an effort to show just a portion of the many variety of cooking styles. Thank you for visiting Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬
