Sonny's reviews are always so respectful to the culture and people. I live in Myanmar and I haven't tried most of what's he's eating. Whether he actually likes it or not, he gives an honest opinion without disrespecting the country. Thats why he's my favorite food reviewer.

Sonny showed incredible respect for the Buddhist culture by joining the monks, even though his time among them was short. I feel that I learned a great deal through his experience. Watching him collecting alms with them was something I found particularly beautiful. It immediately occurred to me that the act of begging is one of the ultimate acts of humility; In that moment, you are essentially saying to a complete stranger, "I have no worldly possessions or attachments- nothing whatsoever. I humbly ask for your help, expecting NOTHING, but GRATEFUL for whatever you can give. Thank you." This unbelievably difficult but simple act, when practiced daily, is an incredibly useful tool to use for the purpose of developing mindfulness & quieting the ego. The fact that all monks are expected to participate in this shows great wisdom in its design. Fantastic content as usual from Sonny & his crew- excellent segment!

Throughout the whole video I just had a smile on my face.. You are so much better than any other food review show on TV or anywhere! You truly have done justice to the name of your channel Sonny👍👍👍
I was born in America and I lived in Asia for most of my life, I have to say, compared to a lot of other documentaries, this is really accurate, besides that, it has a really good quality to it, almost like a cinematic large fund commercial documentary.
This might have to be my favorite episode. My family is from there and I grew up in Thailand. I fortten what some of the food I use to eat are as a child but now seeing this brings me back. Also the green leaf that you had in the beginning with the tobacco, it's the white paste that will give you the buzz. It's good that he didn't put too much on. Also no you don't swallow it. Keep doing what you're doing and I love seeing your videos.
Thank you. It has been many years since I have been back to visit my country of birth, and watching this video brought back many fond memories of my youth. Burmese are kind, inviting and generous people, and your video displayed those wonderful qualities. Thank you for showing respect to the people and their culture with humor and genuine curiosity.
@28:44 the fact you said that the fish was bad and didn't try to cover it up made me adore this show that much more that I can't explain!! Thank you for your honesty !! @35:32 this is yet one other point that you didn't try to pretend that it was you favorite thing ever tasted..it's crazy that people assume we should LOVE everything the second we try them ..some take a few tries and become a beloved treat tbh
Can't believe that I'm tearing while watching it. I wonder how could he take all these beautiful cultures of Myanmar in so deep in this video. And at the same time popping up the thought about current situation and it make me unstoppable tearing for my county and people...
“Best Ever Food Review” is the perfect name for this channel. He is the best on RUclips. Showing us food and cultures we never seen and he’s funny lol.
9:46 tapioca balls are pretty common in India! We call them sabudana! We make khichdi, sabudana wada, sabudana papad, payasam, kheer, dry sabudana chivda etc out of it! 😀❤️
Love the monk portion of the vid- the calmness and lowered voice of Sonny along with the chill music and overall quietness of it all was an experience. Would love to see this style more :))
What I like about you is the fact that you mingle each and everyone you're with so naturally. You even dare try foods may it be from the street or local's houses. That is awesome.. 😊💙
I am from myanmar guys pray for us Military is ruining everything and people are dying from covid under poor management. They also kidnapped and killed the protesters and Rohingyas too !!
It was peaceful times. Now almost civil war. Almost failed state because arrogant and selfish military leaders. Pray for Myanmar. Pray for the people. We'd really appreciat it.
Myanmar people should had protested when the junta was finishing ethnic clean$ing the Rohingyas but alas they fell for the propaganda of the junta. If you guys protested early then maybe the present state wouldn’t be so bad. Even Su ki defended the junta. Stay strong Myanmar 🇲🇲 hope you get better
@@ProfX501 do you know what you are saying? At that time Myanmar was still a democracy. They would have protested against their military’s action against the Rohingyas, but at that time they supported it. Now do you understand how dumb you sound?
@@None-do2qn Myanmar has a LONG history of recurring military coups, protests, and killing of civilians. This is not a new occurrence, and many Burmese today would have memories of this. Even during periods of civilian governments, the military constantly remains a looming presence threatening to take power at any moment. If you did your research before commenting you would know that. Burmese citizens aren’t brainwashed by propaganda-they know full well the realities of military rule but are powerless to effectively resist it.
Wow!!!! What a beautiful country, although I am Muslim and don't eat pork still I found people in Myanmar very very alive, hospitable and kind, especially the part in the temple with monks was touching, salute to all the good people around the world❤️ Cheers from Moscow, Russia

This guy is so good at what he does, excitement, action, comedy, effects, storyline, emotion, beautiful people, nature, and food. Better than a Hollywood movie nowadays. This is a great and funny episode. Well done.
I have to tell you, I love your show, your humour and all your show offers but watching you experience the life of Monks almost brought tears to my eyes. It was just so beautiful and heartwarming.
This was brilliantly done and beautifully respectful and sympathetic to the people. Thank you for giving us this insight into another world many of us might never see, Sonny. I love your videos.

love seeing the mixtures and harmonious binds of cultures, myanmar has so many subgroups from alot of chinese tribes to indian nomadic groups and more in between, its a beautiful country and the fusion and cultural birdges connect its amazing to see
my 2 favorite street foods from Yangon didn't make it into the video. 1 of them is a dosa with chickpeas and veggies, served in a random folded page from yesterdays newspaper. The 2nd would be any of their salads. Pickled tea leaf, lemon, rice, and many other salads are whipped up quickly and cheaply with so many contrasting textures. Lastly, myanmar beer is the best SE Asian beer imo. I hope more people can experience this amazing country in the near-future
I would not recommend Myanmar Beer. Myanmar Beer is a beer of the bloodthirsty Myanmar junta and Myanmar people are trying their best to boycott it to deprive the fascist regime of more income.
Host of the show is so adorable and sweet. Enjoy this show and it's so uplifting everytime I am depressed by the hate consumed in this world. Lots of love to you guys. Thanks for making such lovely show.

I absolutely love your videos Sonny. I've been binging these and this is one of my favorites so far. The people are all so friendly and good-natured, and quite frankly I think I'd eat everything I've seen so far with delight- and I'm a picky eater. Good job! (Edit; maybe not the crickets)
42:47 when the guy says "Ready" and takes Sonny by surprise because he hasn't said a word the whole time they were cutting down and cooking/getting eaten alive by ants was just too funny 😆

My Parents are from Myanmar but I myself have never been there, Thank you Sonny for this experience.
You should visit...my father was born in Rangoon......it’s beautiful
u r the best reviewer...not everything is "wooooow" like some of these other reviewers an u show how the food is made...ur like a real human...love it
I cannot stand hearing hmmmmmm after every bite lmao
A country with a street food is a place to die for🙌
Walmart mary j blige?
What will u do after dieing
Agreed
yes and potentially get covid-19
☝️
Looks like I'm not the only one 😅
“Best Ever Food Review” is the perfect name for this channel. He is the best on RUclips. Showing us food and cultures we never seen and he’s funny lol.
Sonny personality is the only reason I watch big documentaries like these love it 🐸
9:46 tapioca balls are pretty common in India!
I am from myanmar guys
pray for us
Military is ruining everything and people are dying from covid under poor management.
They also kidnapped and killed the protesters and Rohingyas too !!
:(
It was peaceful times.
@@None-do2qn Justice for the entirety of Myanmar and the Rohingya people
@@None-do2qn The entire premise of a military junta is kind of that people don’t have much power to protest. You’re living in your own world.
Wow!!!!
What a beautiful country, although I am Muslim and don't eat pork still I found people in Myanmar very very alive, hospitable and kind, especially the part in the temple with monks was touching, salute to all the good people around the world❤️
Cheers from Moscow, Russia
Thank you so much for your show.
I am from Myanmar, but this video really comforts my homesickness in this covid pandemic and cruel military coup time.
♥️
As a kenyan have learnt that food plays a huge role in history and it's the way to unite people 🌎 sonny we love❤️you
This has been my fave episode. The section of becoming a monk for a trial really opened my eyes. Peaceful people. Great episode, thankyou
Silent watcher.... Just wanted to say I love watching you, love the unique foods that you bring out to the table for us to watch and see you eat something that I probably will never ever try, keep doing what you're doing you are amazing and a BIG HELLO from Farmington New Mexico 💕
The 1.9 dogs is the best part of this video. I literally laughed for more than an hour.
I Came Here Looking For This Exact Comment 😂😂😂🖐🏾
i am still rolling on the floor for that statement lol
Bruhhhh!! I was cracking up 😂
Hahahaha I didn't expect to see this comment 😂 it took me couple of minutes to realize 1.9 dogs 🤣
I came for it
Sonny is the most delightfully awkward, lovable, adventurous man ever! I want to eat some serious food with this guy! Someday we will cross paths in SE Asia, I just know it
"Mmm. The rice tastes like rice!" ~ Sonny Side, 2020

the noodle taste like noodle
OK.
@@mememachinebacon790 Actually this video is from 2020 when the team went to Myanmar. They have the entire series on it
im tired of that slogan
This guy is so good at what he does, excitement, action, comedy, effects, storyline, emotion, beautiful people, nature, and food. Better than a Hollywood movie nowadays. This is a great and funny episode. Well done.
I have to tell you, I love your show, your humour and all your show offers but watching you experience the life of Monks almost brought tears to my eyes. It was just so beautiful and heartwarming.
A whole Myanmar food, nature and culture experiences in a single video. You got this! boom! ♥️
This was brilliantly done and beautifully respectful and sympathetic to the people. Thank you for giving us this insight into another world many of us might never see, Sonny. I love your videos.
I'm right here bro
These people look and sound sooo friendly. This feels like the country that you enjoyed the most!
I had never heard of Myanmar and now I really would love to travel there one day. Looks like an amazing country still rich in tradition.
lol theres a war there right now with the military police and hella dead bodies everywhere 🥴🥴
@@analopeee lol, there is war lol
@@analopeee poor Myanmar can't catch a break.
As a myanmar citizen. ..the coup will take too long to finish.
Visit. Dont worry about the Coup , its made to protect citizen from AA terrorist groups bombing people up. Trust me they(PDF terrorists )have bombed innocent people for "working for the government". Military wont bother you unless you tried to shoot them .
At present, freedom and happiness are lost in this country because of the military dictatorship. Hope to have more fun days like in this video soon. As a Myanmar citizen, I would also like to thank you for coming to Myanmar 💙
Sending lots of love and prayers to Myanmar 🇲🇲. 🙏
Stay safe man
Would like to invites all when the bad days over 🙏
Stand strong brother and stay safe. Wishing peace from London U.K.
I don’t think so.
Myanmar gotta be one of the coolest places I've ever been to. One of the best countries to visit as a tourist in Asia
I love Sonny’s sense of humor and his total respect for other cultures!
It’s incredible what Sonny is willing to try. And I’ve never seen him gag! Legend has it his stomach is made of iron.
I miss this world, when you can just be friendly to tourist and not think you’re killing each other unknowingly, Your editors deserves every $ you pay them, this is awesome.
You learn about a people's culture through their food, Sonny is the best! Keep up the good work
Thanks for the video dude. as a chef myself I love the way you taste the food.
It's hard to explain but the way you give everything a chance. It's beautiful.
You're my going to sleep channel lol. Keep being you
I LOVE MYANMAR❣️
FROM PHILIPPINES❣️
I’m so glad this channel popped onto my recommended 🥰 it literally saved my sanity during lockdown and I’ve loved watching and getting to know Sonny. He’s such a natural entertainer 😅
I love the level of awkwardness here 💕 the people are just so beautiful i hope Myanmar get back it’s peaceful time back soon
Sonny my dear, when you had your head shaved and you were talking in hushed tones with no joking around, I was nearly in tears. You where respectful of the Monks and their culture. You have my respect as well.
Well done Mr. Minnesota. 🐓🐪🕷🐿🐔🐑🐞🐜
love seeing the mixtures and harmonious binds of cultures, myanmar has so many subgroups from alot of chinese tribes to indian nomadic groups and more in between, its a beautiful country and the fusion and cultural birdges connect its amazing to see
The way Sonny was serving that food like he made it, himself! 😂 When I say I'm IN LOVE with him!
my 2 favorite street foods from Yangon didn't make it into the video.
@@josephyoung5281 I didn't realize that they were boycotting it. Makes sense though. Thanks for the info (y)
Host of the show is so adorable and sweet. Enjoy this show and it's so uplifting everytime I am depressed by the hate consumed in this world. Lots of love to you guys. Thanks for making such lovely show.
You and your team really do such an excellent job. The editing is great, the locations are wicked cool. And all the food is super interesting. I really enjoyed this one. This country has such an interesting cuisine.
I have been an avid fan of this food review show since 2018 and I am really amazed of all its old and newest vlogs.. I mean documentary☺️ Keep going and stay safe😍
This guy is amazing, Sonny brings us to a world many have not seen & shows us his amazing ability, adapt to culture and food not normally tried, Super humble, adventuress . well done
3:35 i love the way the handhandles are brushing against all of the food giving it that unique flavor and germ and bacteria boost to the immune system...
Sir I nominate you for Nobel peace prize , because your videos are not just food review rather your videos give me a peek into a country's culture. Keep up the good work y'all
Watching this channel has really influence me to Start my food review journey in my country Jamaica. Thanks again Sonny . Big up yuh nice clean self
I absolutely love your videos Sonny. If you do get to return to the US, I'd LOVE to see you head to some of the states with a heavy Vietnamese culture like South Louisiana, and compare how the local Vietnamese have adjusted their dishes to more Americanize them. I'd love to find the closest thing to authentic. Thanks for all you do to entertain us!!!
I've been binging these and this is one of my favorites so far. The people are all so friendly and good-natured, and quite frankly I think I'd eat everything I've seen so far with delight- and I'm a picky eater. Good job! (Edit; maybe not the crickets)
That was like 4-5 video worth of content combined in one.
Worth the time though.
Loved everybit of it.
I loved this, I never knew how beautiful the lifestyle is. I’m Christian and it’s good to understand others peoples religion/beliefs.
As a vegan, I love vicariously through this guy!! Recently discovered your channel and loving it.
42:47 when the guy says "Ready" and takes Sonny by surprise because he hasn't said a word the whole time they were cutting down and cooking/getting eaten alive by ants was just too funny 😆
Don't ever change sonny. Love your videos. Always insightful and entertaining. Much love from Canada
beautiful country beautiful people mouthwatering food.will visit .love from India.
If you’re wondering why Sonny always wears that red bandanna.....
It’s because.....
He is a High Ranking Blood gang member.
I spend my time watching videos like this so that I can have a feeling of travelling virtually.
I absolutely love watching this show.Ya are awesome! Of course I couldn’t do it,I still enjoy all he does to show us the difference in our countries. He’s my National Geographic man😇
36:45 who notice it? It shows that he one of great person. Thanks for inspiring 👍 😊 🙏
This was so beautiful. Thank you for sharing the world with us. 🥲
I'm so used to Sonny by now. His videos are a constant part of my life.
