I never realized how beautiful PNG was. It's so wonderful to see people who are often demonized or sensationalized in popular media shown for just who they are. People with a fascinating cultural history, and a beautiful way of life.
@@GreenSpace314 they dont. if they did, they wouldnt need a foreign system(christianity) based on philosophical absolutes to disregard savage practices like cannibalism.

It's so cool that these people are able to CHOOSE to live the way they do. They have the option to live a modern lifestyle in the city if they want to, but they can go home and live a much more simple life too. It was interesting the the young woman said she preferred the village life, and the old woman said you can live "for free" in the village. It's in small communities like this where people can live a communal lifestyle. Obviously, everybody chips in and does the work they're able to, but they don't have to work and save up for their entire lives just to provide for themselves when they're too old to work. The community recognizes they provided for others for a long time and now it's time to provide for them. People lived like this for thousands of years. I'm not sure our modern society is better off. I kinda wish I had the option to live like this. I was the happiest I've ever been on 2 different 90-day backpacking trips where we spent more than 80 of those days entirely outdoors. I didn't have anxiety. I didn't crave substances. Every day was a new but simple mission. Simple foods tasted SO good when I was REALLY hungry. Little things made me so happy, like a jolly rancher 5 hours into a treck across a glacier, or giving one to someone else and seeing their face light up. A lip full of dip and shooting the sh*t with the boys at sunset was such a rewarding end to a day. Lol, even finding a lovely spot to do your business was exciting. I know, the grass is always greener. I live a very privileged life as a white person in the US and I shouldn't romanticize the lives these people live compared to mine, but I really wish I had the option

Hi, from Namibia. This video made my day. Firstly, besides the unique food idea, I must confess that you know how to communicate and you are very funny 😂. Last, their meals seemed healthier than anything the universe could offer. Any tips on how you manage to just close your inner eyes and have the courage of testing the food you haven't eaten or seen before at your age? Because that is my weakness. Power on.
My favorite country series yet! And I love all the PNG folks in the comments giving us facts and context! Also, I know looks aren't everything, but the Crocodile tribe has some really beautiful women and handsome men - wow!!
Thank you, Sunny, for coming to my country and experiencing how the East Sepik province live candidly! I love this show. Sonny and company have taught me so much I never knew but am so blessed to have learned. It can’t be easy (or cheap) to gain access to the places he goes to. The production is also really high quality, especially for a RUclips channel not affiliated with a major network. I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t been approached by National Geographic, Discovery, etc. The show is educational, respectful and completely different than anything on mainstream networks. (This is when I wish I was a billionaire who owned a network because signing him and his crew is guaranteed money. He’d bring in so many viewers it would be an instant hit)!

Sonny not only are you a hilarious person but your ability to connect with people is unmatched. I just watched a video on cannibalism and im left with some tears in my eyes!
I recently watched young black men in the Outback of Australia, and I wondered how our cousins inhabited lands thousands of miles from Africa. Now here we are! Another set of cousins. Everything they are doing from scarification to cooking misheveve can be traced to different African groups. The only thing I guess we don't have in Africa is the starch from palm trees. Sending love from Kenya.
The women said that maybe because of the processes it takes for them to make and cook these foods. Trust me making sago is a tedious job, the women will have to stand for hours to wash, squeeze and ferment the sago. Just imagine doing that regularly because it's a staple food. I'm pretty sure they're used to it because that's what is available in the area but it would be nice to have something different sometimes aye 😊
@gambit1499 agree. He asked the men twice "do you ever get sick eating fish and sago" they answered no, it's their daily food. For women, his question was a little different by saying "tired" instead of "sick", so they answered"yes".
god these guys are some of the KINDEST people i have ever seen, they seem genuinely happy that people are interested in their culture and what they eat

@@marwanak10 I don't need your permission nor criterion to be amazed by something.
@@canchero724 What fascinates me more is that they live the way they do, honoring their tribal traditions to this day, but just a few hundred kilometers from them are civilizations that seem alien.
This is one of the best Food reviews and unbiased reporting. Thanks for promoting the Sepik River
Hi,
from Namibia.
Power on.
Sonny is not pregnant, but he never fails to deliver

This was an excellent episode! I loved the wonderful people of this village! ❤️🥰
They would eat u man😂
Sonny, you are the goat of food traveling. The only 3 places you have left to go are space , heaven, and hell to give us great content
My favorite country series yet! And I love all the PNG folks in the comments giving us facts and context! Also, I know looks aren't everything, but the Crocodile tribe has some really beautiful women and handsome men - wow!!
Beautiful & kind people.. protect them & all people like them at all cost from what humanity has become
Hell yeah much love from aus! Png have beautiful souls 💪🏼💯
are you serious?
Thank you, Sunny, for coming to my country and experiencing how the East Sepik province live candidly! I've been following you for the last 5 years, and I have to say that you have seen nothing yet in PNG! When you were in pom I asked one of the featured guests in your tour to come try out my province food without the cameras so you can teste how some of the traditional food is. But! it didn't happen, and hopefully, you can again in the future of this small island of 21 countries and over 800 languages 🇵🇬❤️🖤💛
RESPECT TO YOU MR SUNY FOR GOING ETRA TO CREATE CONTENTS AND HELPING PEOPLE DOCUMENT THEIR OWN HISTORY.
Truly wish you win an award some day Sunny. You deserve it !
Good lord you make incredible content. Seriously it's TV or Netflix quality. Why hasn't this been picked up for the world to see? Love your videos.
The edits is so smooth, appreciated it!
Dude, we love you. Thanks for just being there each friday
Hi Sonny, I’m Papua New Guinean-Australian and I’ve watched your videos for so long ❤️ This episode was so great, thank you for doing my island home justice.
This has got to be one of the best episodes Sunny. i wished i could stay with these village people for a week sampling their foods
I love this, every day I learn something new about these places & tribes that I never knew existed.
Its my island
Thanks for exploring my country..🙏you deserve much more subs..
Sonny you're a Legend! Thanks for visiting my country. 💯👏🏽🇵🇬
Have you ever eat a person??
Yes, 3 times a week. And on birthdays and christmas. Your mommahs on the menu for tonight h@@Mumtasxuseen1
Yes I did . Your mother@@Mumtasxuseen1
@@Mumtasxuseen1 No, but after this dumb comment, I'm considering it. 🤔
Thank you Sonny i enjoyed this a lot
Best episode yet! I loved the interviews with the Chambari people. I love PNG. Good on you for being the first food RUclipsr to visit PNG and produce positive videos for the world to see.
I’m impressed how good English they can speak
Lol! We were "colonised" by the English at one time.
Plus, we also gained independence from Australia.
That's how
@ I have been to Southeast Asia and people speak really bad English even though they have millions of tourists visiting those countries.
@@franciscapeter1853 I get that, but I'd expect those people who live in small villages in the middle of the jungle, not to speak/understand any English.
@@Hans-gs2gvbreh didn't u hear Christian missionaries came thru the villages. Thats how they learned come on big dawg.
In port Moresby they speak English fluantly
Ever since I started watching this channel I was like cmon just eat some human already
I did my best!
@@BestEverFoodReviewShow Were you the guy who ate a placenta in a Scandanavian country?

Jacob the village chief wearing a Dublin GAA jersey 😂
Almost as funny as seeing guys in places in Africa wearing 'blackpool hen party 1999" t shirts
When players get traded or cut and they have leftover stock of their Jerseys they can't sell because of trademark rights they send them as donations like this. They also do the same with losers of the big playoff games like the championships and Super Bowl
Walked into a beer parlour (pub) in Ilorin Nigeria and first person i saw there had a Kerry jersey on 😂
Yes some of their clothes are also donated from families in the Torres Strait
Huh?@@sammone1739
Sonny not only are you a hilarious person but your ability to connect with people is unmatched. I just watched a video on cannibalism and im left with some tears in my eyes!
I love Your films and the respect which you treat people ❤
Thank you so much for coming to my country....alot of criticism about our country but there are some of those that are good
Just recently this channel popped up on my feed and now I'm addicted 💥 . Keep it up💗
The name of the channel truly reflects the content. This is true unbiased journalism. You deserve good things! Well done, Sonny!
hello, you are a top notch creator, host , trying and messenger of different foods and cultures and also simply the best. Ur Goat ed.
please keep.up
Another excellent PNG Vid!
Amazing adventure, love to watch and get inspired 😍
I recently watched young black men in the Outback of Australia, and I wondered how our cousins inhabited lands thousands of miles from Africa. Now here we are! Another set of cousins. Everything they are doing from scarification to cooking misheveve can be traced to different African groups. The only thing I guess we don't have in Africa is the starch from palm trees. Sending love from Kenya.
I wish this episode came out earlier.. I would have voted this my favorite for this year's Besty awards!
I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that they speak such good English! Like damn, I was expecting a translator!
Awesome. U deserve an Emmy!! 😅
"Do you ever get tired of fish and sago?"
Men: No, never!
Women: Yes.
Lmao.
At least the women were honest 😂
The women said that maybe because of the processes it takes for them to make and cook these foods. Trust me making sago is a tedious job, the women will have to stand for hours to wash, squeeze and ferment the sago. Just imagine doing that regularly because it's a staple food. I'm pretty sure they're used to it because that's what is available in the area but it would be nice to have something different sometimes aye 😊
I think it was misinterpreted as the men thinking they would literally become sick from the food.
@gambit1499 agree. He asked the men twice "do you ever get sick eating fish and sago" they answered no, it's their daily food. For women, his question was a little different by saying "tired" instead of "sick", so they answered"yes".
lol cause they gotta cook it everyday and they’re tired😭
Hope you enjoy the diverse culture of PNG and its unique dishes, Sonny🇵🇬💫
god these guys are some of the KINDEST people i have ever seen, they seem genuinely happy that people are interested in their culture and what they eat
Life lessons right there: no money = happiness.
Sometimes less is more. Like the song The Bare Necessities from the Jungle Book
money is an instrument of modern slavery
Money was literally invented to exploit and enslave people
Hahahahaha yep.
Eat human brains= mad cow disease.
Bingo!
Money isn't everything in the pacific islands in addition to PNG
