      I'm using the retinal and Vitamin C products from the brand and I LOVE THEM!! Have seen improvements in my skin since day one using them both and the Vitamin C is the correct pH level to actually work unlike some from far more expensive brands! Both products very affordable and well formulated. The retinaldehyde 1.0 is a far better fit for my skin than retin-a (tretinoin) but I still notice definite improvements in my lines and wrinkles since I started use and they are now both HG products. Thank you Hungary from Ireland and well done to this fantastic company for making affordable no nonsense products that work!

    I went from my gateway TO's 2% Granactive retinoid straight to G&G A Game 5 and then straight to A Game 10 after 3 weeks of A Game 5. It is super gentle (imho) and transitions were no issue at all. It has such a soothing formulation that with my oily skin I feel like often I don't even need a moisturizer on top. Since I have lots of A Game 5 left I am using it under the eyes and on the neck, so it was a good decision to get both strengths.

    Greetings from Slovakia, I really like your videos and your honest reviews. I was looking for your review of A-game (and G&G), because I love all products from this brand. My sensitive skin can handle their exfoliators, vit. C is not oxidizing and from their niacinamide I do not get reactions as from TO. And since my country is neighbouring with Hungary, I have my order delivered within 2 days! so, 10 out of 10 for most of their products from me :) Btw, I am on tretionoin, but I use A-game on my neck since my neck cannot handle tretinoin. Works great and I really like formulation, just switched to 1% strenght and so far no bad reactions.

      I stopped 0.5% tretinoin because of too much skin sensitivity but am finding the G&G 0.1% to be equally, if not more effective than the tretinoin for anti-ageing. The Vit C is wonderful too and at the correct pH level. Wonderful affordable products. Greetings from Ireland :)

    Hi Sarah I love this. I use tretinoin, but have both rosacea and eczema. Although I can't use retinoids during a rosacea flare, using them has strengthened my skin to where I don't get too many flares tbh. I use this on my neck mainly (which won't tolerate tretinoin), although I do use it all over on nights where my skin feels a bit more sensitive (rather than using the tretinoin). I bought the 0.05% strength as it is primarily for my neck. It took two years to acclimate my neck to this stage btw as it is even more sensitive than my face (out with flares of rosacea). I use tretinoin 0.05% on my face approx 3 times a week, but I can use the Apad and this together which I can't with the tretinoin. I don't use AHA's or low ph L ascorbic acid, as my skin (which gets a lot of retinoid use) just won't tolerate them. I prefer to use the retinoids over these other ingredients, as for me it really works. I worked my way up the retinoid ladder though over a period of more than two years - from a very weak retinoid up to tretinoin. It took patience, but has been so worth it in terms of firmer/bouncier skin and some lessening of lines. I'll be 49 next month and I'm menopausal, so aging is a concern. Retinoids have turned back the clock a bit and given me back a bounce to the skin that was lost. People always think i'm in my thirties when they meet me, so it must be working lol. Best wishes.

I'm a little nervous about the brand for many reasons, but I haven't talked much about it so I think I'll do a video on it this week. The founder of the brand (Susan Yara) really did some shady things when she started the brand up. I'll explain more in my video. I have a feeling they are paying Influencers big bucks to schill their products. I've tried a few before the "scandal" and wasn't too impressed with them, many of the products also seem to have ph stability issues. Keep an eye out and I'll talk about all of this in great detail this week.

    I hear that retinaldehyde is better tolerated than retinol, in general. There is actually a study comparing 0.05% retinaldehyde to 0.1% and the only difference they noticed was that 0.1% worked to reduce pigmentation while 0.05% did not during the period of use. It would be great if they tested for longer to see if 0.05% eventually had the same effect as 0.1% though. There is also a study comparing 0.05% retinaldehyde to 0.05% tretinoin. It is good that there is some comparative data about the ingredient. Cosmetic skincare research is very sparse

      Kind of hoping Geek & Gorgeous makes an affordable version of Skinceuticals Triple Lipid moisturiser since they have already "taken inspiration" from the CE Ferulic. Because many companies don't use the correct ratio and just add a ceramide to their product for the marketing

    • @moose8762
      @moose8762 3 года назад +1

      Also the cloudberry is added by the manufacturer of the retinaldehyde (that Geek & Gorgeous and others purchase from) as an antioxidant to stabilise the retinaldehyde. I do not think it is there for skin benefits. You will see it in Medik8 also

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  5 месяцев назад +1

      I haven't noticed anything like that from the A Game. From my research and understanding the main reasons behind the retinal hair loss connection is mostly due to irritation and dryness it can cause, not the actual active ingredient. So if you use a retinal that is very strong and notice irritation and kept using it then you can be prone to hair loss. I think preventing that dryness and irritation is key by doing a couple things. 1. Start out slow 2. Use a good formula 3. Use a good moisturizer after the retinal. Interesting enough, some companies include retinoids in hair growth formulas. I would recommend the A Game 5 which is the weaker of the two versions and start out slow, one or two nights a week and be sure to follow it up with a good moisturizer and see how that goes.

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  3 года назад +1

      I believe both can be wonderful for anti-aging, although adapalene does not have any research "proven" for anti-aging as of yet. Retinoids in general are wonderful for fine lines, wrinkles, and skin tone. I would go with whichever is easier for you to use and purchase- if you are in the US Adapalene is over the counter, and pretty affordable so that would probably be the easiest way to go. If you are outside of the US adapalene is most likely prescription, so I'd probably go with Retinal in that case- both are going to be pretty strong and help with anti-aging so I think its more of a formula/price choice.

When that suddenly emptied (the only bad thing about airless packaging, you can't tell when you're running low) I didn't know about G&G but wanted to try retinal, so I got the Medik8 0.06 I had no reaction at all.
      I'm not crazy about the Medik8. It has a scent, not heavy but more than I want. It's also expen$ive. When it runs low I'm buying the G&G 0.1% ... even if I pay full shipping costs, it's 2/3 the price of the Medik8!

      It also has some iron oxide that changes the yellow color to peach. They claim it's for blue light protection, but I think "blue light damage" is a scam.
      As far as extra ingredients ... that depends on what you're getting in the rest of your products. I get my peptides from The Ordinary's Buffet + Copper.
      Finally ... I ordered direct from Medik8, and had lousy customer service. My order was delayed 3 weeks, they didn't respond to my emails until after the product was shipped. And there were no samples

    Do you think this is OK for the neck? I'm using tretinoin successfully on the face and eye area but it's still too strong for my neck. I've been using other retinols like neutrogena eye Serum and inkey list retinol serums for the neck and I tolerate them much better but I want to slowly start using stronger products. I'm super impressed that you've been able to use retinol products on your neck, it sounds like you've done a good job getting your skin acclimated to it. I think I might go with the Olay Retinol 24 Cream, then once you finish that give the G&G a try- it is going to be much better slowly getting your skin adjusted than going too fast. I'd go with the G&G A Game 5 after the olay, and when you are getting started using it you can mix it with a moisturizer for the first few weeks, that is a great way to get your skin acclimated.

It is sadly rare to find a good retinal serum and in a lighter formula that works well for oily/blemish prone skin types compared to the endless heavy serums or creams available. @@NOBSBeauty I'm so glad I wasnt the only one finding it so absurd as I have no shame emailing all companies direct also and have been chatting with them since January as well lol. That is why its frustrating because every time they swear and have their estimated date by and second it rolls around it gets pushed out again Jan, Feb, and now March. So it really feels like their launch was an April fools considering what decade they will be in stock again and if this is a constant that will happens with this product comically. I've been so impressed with their other formulas and over how rare a good not overpriced retinal is was super excited when theirs hit. In the meantime I did try the Mychelle's which many rave as holy grail and had no irritation at all but their serum formula was somehow just way too rich for me and never sunk in always leaving a bit of a film after my skin got used to it and especially still needing to use a moiaturizer after. Bummer as formulas were so similar and why I felt I had to downgrade trying Paula's Choice Booster 1% which ironically irritated my skin which makes no sense when the Retinal did not. Anyhow don't know how I missed GG having this .1% Retinal so thanks again for getting that on my radar in a light formula serum as I need. At this point do you think the Maelove's might be too hydrating for oily blemish prone skin in comparison as just crossed my mind and with the great price of GG I may fight my skincare lover urge and not even attempt Maelove now! 😅 I've been loving the Allie of Skin Niacin and Isntree C Niacin Ampoule so I am trying to refrain from trying the versions from GG as lovely as they seem you are right. Years of higher C Serums were fine for me but as I'm after more preventative going to something lower like that Ampoule feels more balanced instead of seeking the highest as I'm initially inclined to always do not being a stranger to actives. Hi, Have you noticed any hair loss (eg thinning eyebrows, etc) while using retinal? I really want to try retinal but I'm scared of it causing hair loss. Cheers ^_^

    I’ve been using 5 and didn’t get any results. I am going to use 10 and see if it’s different.

    Oooo could this be a cost effective dupe for Medik8 crystal?

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  3 года назад +1

      Absolutely- this one is much more affordable, has the same active ingredient, and much more affordable, I actually prefer this to the Medik8.

      I just tried the Medik8 retinAl and felt there was no difference. It was the very first level of the crystal formulations. I just bought the Geek and Gorgeous 10 so I cannot wait to see the results.

    Is this really not sponsored review? 🤔sounded very much like sponsored, all the way long. And also what does “ it helped with the texture, it helped with the wrinkles?” . You could have been more precise and say what EXACTLY it did to yoir skin , did the wrinkles diminish, disappear? After what time, was it slight or noticeable… maybe some photos before and after…

    Your skin looks very nice but for some reason I think you do Botox a lot😲 because you don't seem to be able to make expressions. But I think Botox probably doesn't make skin look as healthy as yours does_ still I wonder what it would look like if you didn't have Botox.🙂 But if you don't do Botox please correct me I am curious to know, this will make me want to order the geek and gorgeous.

      Haven't done botox, but if I ever do I will definitely do a video about it! I'll take it as a compliment because I can make all sorts of crazy faces to dispel the myth, but I cannot remember which videos I did that that in.

      You are naturally beautiful, retinaldehyde only mostly helps to keep the skin as free as possible from blemishes, because it is basically an exfoliant. ❤️
