Can you please tell that tretinoin can cause hair fall or not ??? And if it does then what to do for it??? Cause I'm suffering from hair fall since I started my tretinoin from 2 months.. 😭😭
Hi Jennifer, thanks so much for your videos! Just letting you know the link to the first attached video has expired..is it possible for you to re-attach it please? 🌷
My dermatologist put tretinoin on the back of one hand for years. He left the other alone for comparison sakes to show his patients. He retired at 82. The hand he'd treated with tretinoin was smooth and unwrinkled.
My skin was at its worst from age 22-26. Flawless for the entirety of high school and college. But alot of that I attribute being on bc pills and I started tret at 12 and stopped unfortunately before I started college
The fact that a 40 year old has younger looking skin than me (at 20 years old) is insane. It also means I need to up my skincare game while I still have time lol
@@Deep_ltd004 Yeah I just started a moisturizer with retinal in it (goldbond age renew retinal moisturizer) and I’ve seen a difference already! I don’t think I’ll use a concentrated version yet, as I’m still young

My insurance allows me two 45g tubes per month at 0.05%. I literally apply Tretinoin all over my body every three days followed with an ultra rich water based moisturizer and I always use SPF 30+. As a guy, I get tons of compliments on my skin especially my face, neck, chest and arms. After one year of doing this during the lockdown, my skin transformation is just something you have to see. My skin tone is one solid color all over my body, smooth, dewy, firm, no lines or wrinkles and microscopic pores. I don't waste my money on any fancy expensive creams or serums. Just Tretinoin, SPF lotion, gentle cleanser and a thick water based moisturizer. I'm hooked on this stuff because it truly does EXACTLY what it says it will do and more!...
my skin is very prone to clogging! could you please let me know what is the moisturizer that you use for your skin?? is it as good as an oil-based moisturizer ? thank you so much in advance !!!!
@@jjo2720 my skin was very oily even the lightest moisturisers would clog me. Like netrogena water one and iunik centella one. The one tip I have is to get a good cleanser. Now I use cerave foaming one twice a day. Sometimes once. Now my skin can take alot heavier moisturises. Like cerave pm. Lol when I first bought cerave cleaser I bought it WITH the moisturiser. But I didn't use moisturiser until like 3 or 4 months later. So get a good cleanser then the light weight moisturiser would not clog you.
@@simranjitkaur3682 I "once" had an issue with acne when I was a teen, so it was on file that I had Acne Vulgaris, when it wasn't really that bad. I told my physician that I was getting flare ups again (adult acne) while talking to him over the phone, so he just called it in for me. The insurance company looked at the diagnosis code for Acne Vulgaris (L70.0) and that qualified me for insurance coverage with larger tubes, twice a month to treat the face, neck, chest, back and arms. So now I just use it every 3 days all over my body, which does prevent any breakouts but also does a whole lot more, for having great skin all over. Hope this helps!
My son suffered terriable acne from a very young age. So took him to the gp. My poor son look terrible and was flaking and sun screen was a must. Today at 31 he has really love skin. Ladies, yes tretinoin is awesome. But please know that the woman on this video with the flawless skin has done more than just use that cream. She has spoken for 11mins on this video, and has not once moved any portion of her forehead. and there is nothing wrong with caring for your skin, but its misleading to guide women into using one thing, instead of being transparent about everything that she has done.
Excatly!. So many of us we don't have the money to buy so many products. E.g im from Fiji and it costs a fortune here. So the least one can do os be honest with us becsuse we save up and sacrifice to buy these products.
Hi there! I don't know this youtuber well, so I wouldn't know about other things she may have had done, but I did want to say it's possible to have no forehead wrinkles without botox. From a young age didn't use my forehead muscles (wasn't intentional, I just wasn't very expressive up there) and so now in my older age it *looks* like I have gotten botox because probably atrophy over the years of non-use. if I try really hard I can get some movement but it's pretty weak. I'm sure people will assume it from time to time that I've done botox, and that's fine, just thought it was worth mentioning that this is a thing. More likely than not she has, just isn't a guaranteed thing is all. Totally agree with your point that influencers often have more done than they let on which can distort our own self image of whats possible with what products.
@abby Loe. Tretinoin prescription from doctor only. It is good. If you do not want wrinkles use that at night with moisturizer, sandwich effect of course for beginners. During the day use Argiriline and Matrixyl from the ordinary. Or Buffet with copper peptides 1% from the ordinary. Argiriline tightens skins. The buffet with copper peptides takes longer but I find it better as it has so many other good ingredients in it for the skin. But tretinoin prescription does work. Start off with 0.25mg first. After your ski can adapt to it then only switch to higher concentration. Also a time lasts long because you only use pea size amount at night. You must apply properly or you will damage your skin: use sandwich method. First moisturizer then retain A then moisturizer again for first time users at night 2 hours before bedtime. In the morning you must wear sunscreen spf 50. Regina A attracts sun which will damage your skin. The next best to retain A which is a prescription, would be retinaldehyde, it is less irritating on the skin, this is over the counter, but will take longer to see results. Hope that helps.
I just assumed it was because East Asians don’t really start getting wrinkles until their late 50s. Hyperpigmentation comes much earlier for them tho, which it looks like she’s prevented pretty well.
The peeling is a good thing. Like a chemical peel. Removing the damaged, bumpy, discolored layers of skin over time smothes the skin and lessens the appearance of dark spots.
I am a medical aesthetician and this was music to my ears. patience is so important when on this journey. SPF every day is extremely beneficial, even more so with any retin A product. LESS IS MORE loved this video!!
I’m a 54 year old grandma and I’ve been using Tretinoin for about 25 years. I still use it about 4/5 days a week. I originally began using because of bad acne. People rarely believe I’m as old as I am! I wear a moisturizer with SPF under makeup during the day and use Tretinoin at night. I find that wearing a primer under foundation helps with any flakiness during the day. Drinking lots of water and not smoking will also definitely help keep your skin from aging.
I'm 55, Agree. Proof is in our pix as comments show ;-) Tretinoin, sunscreen, do not smoke, rarely drink alcohol, eat healthily and exercise. Nobody belives I am the age I am. There are no secrets. But most will not do it.
"My skin is in better shape now at 39 than it was when i was 25" Me being 26 I needed to hear that. That's so fire. Also cerave healing ointment is literally a lifesaver for my sebderm skin omg, petroleum jelly is the #1 proven occlusive skin protectant :D
Girl 26 is nothing. I’m 32 and I feel like my skin changed over night. Love your skin NOW. Dont love your past self. We always think we’re “uglier” or fatter or our skin is horrible I. The moment. But you’ll look back at yourself and think “wow I was actually decent looking! I looked pretty damn good! What was I thinking being so critical of myself?!” Love the skin God gave you now, take care of it yes! But don’t be overly critical. Their is beauty in aging, but her is wisdom and grace that comes with aging.
I always wonder about Vaseline So when you say it's proven number one do you mean Justin protecting your skin from drying cuz I find that in the summertime sometimes are more so in the winter time that I like putting it on my forehead or sometimes around my face around my cheeks but other than that I feel like it's clogging for my face
@@toniapearson4695 I’m 40 I use aquaphore (extra thick Vaseline) on my neck chest and the skin bags just outside the armpits and it stays on all day in a thin layer, it’s more worth it to buy than regular or generic Vasaline, it makes my turtle neck rings go completely away after two weeks and reduces my armpit bags by over 80%, best after a shower, very thin layer, I also do the bottom side of my arms where skin gets loose as you age. lots to look forward to as you age
I started using Retin-A when I was 22. I’m now 49. I look 35. My skin flaked horribly in the beginning. Now I apply at water-based lotion first & then the Retin-A. @@strawberryjellybean2839 although u could, I wouldn’t truly recommend. Tretinoin is sssso harsh , you may experience too much irritation as the skin around the eyes are the thinnest. But if you have to, go for an over the counter eye cream with retinol like the ROC brand. It’s gentler.
I started using Tretinoin in 2007, but for whatever reason, I gave up after only using half the tube. I wish RUclips and Tik Tok were around then, I would have your skin by now :) I discovered your videos about a month ago when I started using Tretinoin again. Please don't change. @@iwanttokillmyself206 tretinoin you get it prescribed by a derm just like you did with accutane. Tret is the cream version of accutane basically. You shouldn’t use them simultaneously. You can start at any age really. Accutane is iso tretinoin which just means oral version, but oral and topical have different intensities of side effects
I highly recommend starting off with differin (adapalene) for a couple months/weeks prior to beginning tretinoin to get your skin used to the increase cell turnover. I was on adapalene/other retinol products for years prior to actually starting tretinoin, and I was able to use it nightly immediately with little to no sensitivity.
@@recruitmentqatar8713 Differin is less intense of a treatment, but it will give similar results. For some it even works better and is far less irritating.
@@dianadiana8081 I can't speak on the Drunk Elephant product as I've never personally used it. I'm sure it would work in acclimating your skin to the retinoization process if you are planning to move on to tretinoin afterwards. When starting, a great tip to remember is to apply a good moisturizer before tret. Let it rest and absorb for 20 min before you apply tret. Let tret do it's thing for 10-15 min before applying another layer of ypur moisturizer.
@@Jade-ig9lq you can but if you are just starting or mid way through your tret journey, I would use the sandwich method; moisturizer (waith) > tret (wait) > moisturizer to avoid skin barrier damage and peeling.

@anjalichauhan4056 Its good, but dutasteride had the same effect for me. It slashes Sebum Production at the root, snd makes your pores and sebaceous glands smaller You may not find much info on this online, very few understand how this works. But it certainly works.
Thank you for sharing Jennifer- I agree totally- I use Retin-A religiously for the past 10+years and I am 46...I mixed it in Vaseline/Paw Paw's Vaseline and it will stop all peeling/dryness. My skin looks like I'm in my 20's and in my background my grandmother and older African Americans use Vaseline nightly. Staying the course is key and you will find after many years you can take breaks/holidays and use it less frequently.....You are absolutely beautiful btw!
The Vaseline on your face doesn't cause more pimples? I feel like oils and such that I put in my hair breakout my edges but I guess Vaseline isnt actually oily?
@@chasebarber10 Vaseline is an occlusive. The molecules are too large to penetrate the skin and instead seals in any product under it. It is definitely oily but that isn’t a bad thing, just use it at night. It’s a great product to help your skin barrier heal because it is protecting and sealing in moisture so it actually assists healing and should not cause break outs unless there is an allergy or a bad product underneath it.

I've never ever had irritation or peeling or purging with any product apart from making the move from retinol to adapalene (Differin). My skin peeled like crazy! But even going from Differin to Retin-A, I had no issue. It really is a wonder product!

Been having skin problems all my life and Tretinion was the game changer. It has drastically improved my Ichtyosis vulgaris. I do not play with my prescription strength tubes. I recently quit vit c and there is no effect. I introduce and guide all my skincare group members on tretinion and make sure it’s on the routine for those abroad. It hurts that it’s expensive and they need their doctor to give it to them before they even use it and some don’t so I make sure I ship as much as they want. No law should prevent anyone from getting tret. It’s Tret on my body + moisturizer and a broad spectrum spf 50+ for life. Your videos are so encouraging and amazing. I just turned 30 and I've been using tretinoin on and off for about 6 years now. It's amazing, I'm at the point where I don't get the flakiness anymore and I can skip a day or two and it doesn't affect my results.
Can I just use tretinoin without a prescription from a dermatologist? I am currently using an Adapalene 0.1%, but my face still oils up. Super super oily.
I needed to hear this. I'm 1 month in and while my skin isn't in bad shape, it is rather flaky and mildly itchy. It's hard to imagine that it will help so much when you are only a month in. This is a good reminder of what I'm fighting for.
Thank you for making this video. I've been using TRETINOIN for 2 years though there were few gaps here and there where I stopped for a month or so. Recently I started thinking that I don't see a very drastic difference, but this video gave me hope and clarity.

I still remember finding you on RUclips (I was watching a Dr. Dray video on tretinoin and yours was among the next recommended videos) over a year ago and being so struck by your beautiful, glowing skin and your clear and cogent explanations about what it’s done for you and how highly you recommend it. It took me a few months afterward to get the courage to finally try it (and being completely sick and tired of trying every product in the drug store to cure my acne - none of them helped!). Your videos are immensely helpful and your skin is such a testament to a simple routine and good daily habits. Thanks so much for sharing you and your uncle’s wisdom. I like “the skin has the largest memory” - I’m going to remember that going forward.
It's my 4th month of using tretinoin (0.05%). Those first 2 months were horrible. Inflamed and sensitive skin, pimples and what not's. But your videos gave me a great motivation to continue on my journey and looking back I'm glad I didn't gave up. I use it religiously every night and my skin has become accustomed to it. Though a long way to go, I can already feel a tremendous difference to my skin texture and tone to a degree where I don't need any other products and cut all of them to minimum basics. Hoping for much more in the near future. By the way I'm 23 years, nearly the same age as you were when you first started.❤️ Sending you lots of gratitude and love for giving me the strength to continue in my skincare journey.
Hi. I want to strat using it. I don't get acne, I just get bumps on my forehead. Can you please tell me if I should use it? Also, do every one gets sensitive skin and redness after using it initially. Also how did you manage in those 2 months when your skin became sensitive.
I wish I would have started using tretinoin 18 years ago! I’m 34 and just now learning about skincare. I hope I can manage to reverse the damage and have beautiful skin like yours!
So excited to try tretinoin for anti-aging. I'm approaching 40, and I only heard about this stuff a few days ago. I had given up on facial skincare, since any moisturiser I've ever tried just gives me spots, and fails to have any anti aging effect. I had concluded that the entire anti aging industry was a scam. Actually the only thing I do use on my face is factor 50 sunscreen when needed, and I use a toner, that's all I do, other than pure lanolin on my lips. I do focus on a healthy lifestyle for the sake of my skin but it's hard to be consistent with that all of the time. I have ordered some tretinoin without a prescription, fingers crossed the site is legit!!!!! (It's a foreign brand.)
Your skin is amazing! I used to use Retin A as a teenager, but couldn't get hold of it from my doctor. Now at 43 I've been prescribed the retinol: Differin (Adapalene) 0.1% and is easier to tolerate and have improved skin.
🤯🤯you're 39!? Amazing. Your skin looks incredible. I'm 31, and started an Rx retinoid from my derm about a year ago. I've had some crazy drying when I overused, but I have dialed back some and so far so good! I hope my skin looks as incredible as yours in 8 years!
There’s a huge amount of Botox in her face too, so let’s be realistic. She stopped her muscles moving to prevent wrinkles. All round eyes and forehead. Hence the sheen too.
your skin is perfect. I started + stopped because my skin was literally burning, think I will be starting again + doing once a week compared to every other night! thank you!
I started tretinoin about 3 years ago, I’m 36. I’ve just got it down my neck; I started with it in patches. First half my forehead for a week, then my full forehead, and so on, unless I started getting it irritation, and I used moisturizer as a base. Now I’ve gotten to full face coverage, and neck, and am starting to put it directly on my face, no moisturizer as a base, and I put moisturizer as a second layer. I had no horrible flaking or crusting by beginning this way, but have all the benefits, my skin is so much better than it was.
This is so random but when you said your uncle’s quote “the skin has the longest memory” I felt that so deep, i have psoriasis that was triggered from trauma and I have flare ups whenever i feel stressed.
I’ve been using it for about 6 months now and I have started seeing results! Smoother, brighter, even toned skin 😊 I’m only 22, but I’ve struggled with my skin since I was a teenager. I had dryness and tightness at the beginning, but not as much irritation as you had it sounds like.
I used retin A for years, for an odd case of adult acne, and later, moisturizers with a retinol. I also used fake tan, and the highest sunblock available, face and neck, on ANY exposed skin, arms and hands, whatever.. And a neck scarf whenever i was in direct sunlight, as a physical block. Not SOMETIMES, but ALWAYS. Consistency is the key here. 40 yrs later, i have no eye wrinkles, or mouth parentheses. Retinol corrects the normal age skin thining. Old skin is like paper, young like cardboard. Think of trying to crease either...this is EXACTLY how this works. And my neck is still perfect, hands unblemished. There is little even the best plastic surgeon can do about ANY of this.

Yes girl… Vaseline!🔥🙏 I don’t know why so many people swear against using Vaseline but it works great on all skin types. It’s not irritating and it’s dirt cheap🙌
About 2 years ago, I met a woman in her 50s who had the creamiest skin. Guess what her secret was? She covered her face in Vaseline every night. I have been doing it ever since. It seals in the adapaline and moisturizers. I am now 61 years old and my skin looks better than it did 10 years ago.
I guess the vaseline we receive in our country is all fake.. that's why it doesn't work the same way it works for people in western countries :/ super sad
Vaseline is great but not for everyone. I am oily and I broke out with Vaseline, I used it as an occlusive. I wanted it to work but sadly it didn’t work for me.
Jennifer I started my tretinoin treatments after watching your videos. That was January 2020. I went through the purge and all the slightly discomfort and unsightly peeling. Lockdown proved a blessing as this mostly happened during that time. I will never be without this product as it has totally helped to clear and brighten my skin. I started much later in life at 55 but I feel great about my age and skin now. I am also religious about caster oil on my brows and eyelashes which are thick, lush and glossy. Your brows and lashes are goals, but I know we are all individual. Thanks for continuing to inspire and educate us🙏🏾.
I’ve been using Tretinoin for about 20 yrs now. I started due to post-menopausal acne (never had it as a teen, go figure). I wasn’t going for porcelain skin, I just wanted to control excessive oil and breakouts. We started slow (0.025, then 0.050, then 0.1) and I had very little peeling or flaking and no cracking. Eventually the oil production became normal and breakouts lessened; I’m assuming that’s due to the retin-A but also changing hormones. I have very little wrinkling; I don’t know how much is due to my oily skin or the retin-A but I’ll never stop using it.
Your skin is flawless. I've been using for a decade and turning 40 with flawless foundationless youthful glowing skin. I see the initial flaking as the great skin PURGE of getting your old crappy skin off to reveal the baby skin underneath. SPF is must, I agree. Some people experience dermatitis which is NOT to be confused with the initial skin purge. Dermatitis is inflammation of the skin and a negative reaction yet be aware of other products used in addition to.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us Jennifer. I really enjoy your lovely calm and gentle nature and your straightforward and uncomplicated approach to skincare. Your “less is more” approach is so refreshing! You’re looking as beautiful ever. Thanks for the wonderful channel.
Thank you for this testimony. I was about to give up on this tretinoin journey. It’s been about 2-3 months or so and wasn’t seeing any difference and my skin was peeling and dry. (I have combination skin) I will go slow and increase like you said and hopelessly one day have beautiful skin like you!
Your skin is amazing girl! I'm so jealous 😫 wish I would have started the benzoyl peroxide and tretinoin regiment when I was in my early 20's. I'm 32 now and been using both for 6 months and my acne is 75% better and skin is smooth and even. Glad to know I've only seen a fraction of the results I'll see a year from now. Thanks so much for the information you provide! And seeing a 40 year old middle aged woman look like as great as you do. I'm more than optimistic. You are gorgeous 😍
Is it worth starting it at 20 turning 21 ? Like my skin is already good clear touch wood and I am young ofc what's the right age ? I do feel like got open pores on cheeks
I started with Differin gel for about a year before upping to tretinoin and had no side effects (other than even more amazing skin and 100% cleared acne). Differin is available anywhere over the counter and is like the baby version. Totally recommend!
@@mothoon yes that’s the only way it’s available. It’s a generic kind covered by my insurance. RetinA is more expensive but it’s the same thing. Tretinoin is the active ingredient.
@@skz_stay7642 to start with, every 3-4 days. More time inbetween than that if your skin is freaking out about it. Every other day is common once you get used to it. Just a pee sized amount and avoid around the eyes.
So glad I found your video. I started this treatment about 3 months ago, starting slowly first few weeks then every night. I have had such dry skin, flaking and irritated. I was ready to stop. Putting on makeup in the morning is a nightmare, it looks aweful to the point that I scrub it off use a microderm scrub hoping the flaky skin comes off. I will now back off a bit as I have been using it every night. Last night was the first time I "slugged", using Vasoline over moisterizer and my face did feel better this morning. I think maybe use 3 x a week and vasoline the other 4 until my skin really sees improvement.
I’ve started using retinol recently. I’ve been using it every other day, so when I heard you say you started using it once a week my jaw dropped lol. I was like aahh shit, think I’ll dial back after today and take it even slower. Can’t wait to see what my skin is like a year from now. I appreciate the video!
Retinol is not as strong as tretinoin but you should start slowly. Once a week and work your way up. You should also start with a milder one and get a stronger one in time
I loved your video started trentoin 3 months ago now using micro trentoin which is slow release 0.1 percent love it . If skin gets a bit irritated I skip a night and moisturize
I'm also 39 and thanks to your videos, I started using Cerave's retinol serum over 1 year ago. It's helped so much to smooth out my skin texture and getting rid of fine lines! After watching this video, I'm going to start my tretinoin journey hopefully starting in December!
It has been my second year on tretinoin, I’m really grateful that you introduced it for me , all the acne is gone and pores are smaller, and my skin is no longer as oily as it used to be it is starting to be more like normal type of skin too! a while ago I got little lazy on using sunscreen when I’m at home even tho I open the windows and it didn’t turn out great so I starting using it everyday even when I’m at home and thank god I rescued my skin once again hahaha
I need this so much. Thank you. I never wanted to give up on it & haven’t but I was thinking I was stuck with acne no matter what but a week later I am looking at my skin in a whole new light because it definitely is working. It’s been like 8 months on it & I thought it just didn’t work for me. I’m so glad to hear someone tell me it’s only going to keep getting better.
I’m going on my 2nd year with regular retin-a use. I used it when I was 14-16 but hated it. My skin would bleed and peel and that is awful at 16!! I’ve just turned 54 and many can’t believe my skin is so nice. I’ve never had good skin but it’s getting closer and closer. Thank you for your knowledge and help with this product!
I just started to use Retin A last week and had no peeling. The face will feel like burning a bit when I put other products but it goes away within seconds. I also put vaseline around me lash line, top and bottom, and around my mouth. I start using 5%, prescription, every day right away, however I follow this evening routine: 1. I wash my hands 2. I wash my face with Cerave 3. I wash my face with Cerave millar water without rinsing 4. I wait for it to soak in 5. I use red and infra red light therapy for 20 min, to give sufficient amount of time for all product to be absorbed. 6. I apply Retin-A 7. I wait another 20 minutes and I apply moisturiser 8. I apply eye cream when moisturiser soaks in. Maybe the peeling will happen still, we'll see, but I already have incredible results, evening of the skin tone, and minimizing fine lines under my eyes. I hope that marionette lines also go away eventually.
@@olgabushak2942 Yes, after cleansing you use your retinol/retinoid and finally you put on a moisturizer. Only use retinol/retinoids at night. In the morning you must always apply sunscreen at the end of your skincare routine. Some recommend using retinol for starters as it is less irritating than retinoids such as tretinoin and adapalene. The reason retinol is less irritating is that it needs to break down first into a retinoid (retinoic acid also known as tretinoin) before it can be used by our skin, so when you apply retinol onto your skin, it slowly releases retinoic acid into your skin, leading to less irritation. On the contrary, tretinoin or retinoic acid is the form in which your skin can use it, so when you apply tretinoin onto your skin it immediately gets absorbed into the cells without the need for any breakdown beforehand. This is the reason why tretinoin could be much more irritating for your skin than retinol, but also it is why it is more effective than retinol. You could start using tretinoin immediately though, but you would need to be very careful with how much you are applying and the frequency. Hope this helps!
You saying that it took 12 months to see results has really motivated me. I am currently using Adapelene, its been 5 months now and still no results. My skin has not worsened but I have not seen results. I will be consistent!
good luck. I used adapalene for around 8 months and didnt get much better. My dermatologist switched me to tretinoin and its worked way better. Maybe if you have a dermatologist ask them about other options?

I loved hearing this too! It's spot on, everything one needs to know! I'm currently 29 and I've been on Tretinoin for a year, however on & off. I stopped only bc I wanted to get pregnant, and after a miscarriage I decided to hop back onto my Tretinoin journey. It sucks to have to go thru the acne purge again but I'm hoping to condition my skin again for the next 2 years or more before trying again for a baby. I believe that starting Tretinoin is definitely for someone with the ultimate goal of skin beauty or perfection. You have to commit and have lots of patience!!
You're 39!?! Skin goals! 💯✨🙌 I'm currently 24 and started with Epiduo (0.1% adapalene, 2.5% benzoyl peroxide) due to constant breakouts. I'm hoping to have a skin like yours and when you said it took you 12 months to achieve wanted results, it gave me reassurance to keep on going on my journey. Thank you! 😊
Not going to lie, I used epiduo and it's effective but it PEELED my skin so much, especially the skin around blind pimples. Please be careful and go slowly with it! X
@@claraaralc thanks for the advice! GP recommend starting with every other night use but it is too much. My skin becomes too ichy inflamed and peeling. So before I can start applying it every other day without such horrendous consequences, I apply it only twice a week. So hopefully after a month I can perhaps start using it trice a week and so on. How is your skin looking now? How long have you been using it?
@@miamohac1352 I started once a week, then twice a week the next week, then 3 times etc till I could use it every day, but I never used very much of it at once. That's what my GP had advised.

She has spoken for 11mins on this video, and has not once moved any portion of her forehead. and there is nothing wrong with caring for your skin, but its misleading to guide women into using one thing, instead of being transparent about everything that she has done.

When people can’t put in the work, they shame others.

Thank you for sharing your story. How is are you results now that you’ve been treating it with Tret for this long?
I am coming up on the 60 day mark!
Thank you, and thanks for sharing!
Aquaphor is good too instead of vaseline

I've used some type of retinoid since I was 20, finally made it to tretinoin at 25. I've never ever had irritation or peeling or purging with any product apart from making the move from retinol to adapalene (Differin). My skin peeled like crazy! But even going from Differin to Retin-A, I had no issue. It really is a wonder product!
Whoo another early tret user! I started when I was 19ish but I wasn't super consistent until I was 21. I get some gnarly cystic acne if I stop for more than 60 days. Tretinoin and SPf will be the core of my skincare for the rest of my life.
Edit to add i used differin on and off from 14-19 i didn't just go straight to tret
I'm 56 and just started prescription Tretinoin today.
How's it working out for you 7 months later?
For all the people that are getting scared to use it, I didn’t have any side effects whatsoever and I started putting it on every single night from day one! Not everyone has these side effects and if you start out on a weak concentration it will be much better, start at 0.018 or 0.025 and work your way to 0.05-0.1 concentration

By the way I'm 23 years, nearly the same age as you were when you first started.❤️
Sending you lots of gratitude and love for giving me the strength to continue in my skincare journey.

Also, do every one gets sensitive skin and redness after using it initially.

Be careful w foreign brands
Thank you for an intellectually compelling and sensitively delivered recommendation/review of tretinoin/retin-a.
Your skin is amazing! I used to use Retin A as a teenager, but couldn't get hold of it from my doctor. Now at 43 I've been prescribed the retinol: Differin (Adapalene) 0.1% and is easier to tolerate and have improved skin.

your skin is perfect.
Same with my eczema.
I’ve been using it for about 6 months now and I have started seeing results! Smoother, brighter, even toned skin 😊 I’m only 22, but I’ve struggled with my skin since I was a teenager. I had dryness and tightness at the beginning, but not as much irritation as you had it sounds like.
Which concentration did you start with?

I just started to use Retin A last week and had no peeling. The face will feel like burning a bit when I put other products but it goes away within seconds. I also put vaseline around me lash line, top and bottom, and around my mouth. I start using 5%, prescription, every day right away, however I follow this evening routine:
1. I wash my hands
2. I wash my face with Cerave
3. I wash my face with Cerave millar water without rinsing
4. I wait for it to soak in
5. I use red and infra red light therapy for 20 min, to give sufficient amount of time for all product to be absorbed.
6. I apply Retin-A
7. I wait another 20 minutes and I apply moisturiser
8. I apply eye cream when moisturiser soaks in.
Maybe the peeling will happen still, we'll see, but I already have incredible results, evening of the skin tone, and minimizing fine lines under my eyes. I hope that marionette lines also go away eventually.
She’s the only reason why I started my retinol journey 🙏🏻

I'm so confused how to use retinol. Do I put moisturizer after. What brand do you use? Why did you start with retinol vs tretinol

@@connorendres4544 Thank you for the advice! I plan on seeing a dermatologist in october. For now I decided to try curology. We shall see what happens. I realized differen was just making my skin super sensitive to all of the products I owned.
I am in my early 20s and started using trentinoin earlier this year. I can’t wait for the results ! your skin looks so amazing and youthful !
Same here, i'm 21 and i started tret in December 2021😊
My skin is so much better and it keeps improving💜
@@han_j3797 that’s good!! Same my skin improved a lot and people think I’m younger than 23 I thank Trent
@@annabb19 😄🌼

@@130surajkumar7 you can a lot of derm websites (make sure they’re legit) send monthly subscriptions of them
You have literally made me feel so much better!!! Youre skin is beautiful im 6 months in and my skin litterly peels off like yours!!! I was worried id didnt see results but lookking at youre skin im going to carry on with it deffo ❤
What's the update now??🤍
I loved hearing this too!
You are doing great already, More power to you❤
I feel you.. same story
You're 39!?! Skin goals! 💯✨🙌
I'm currently 24 and started with Epiduo (0.1% adapalene, 2.5% benzoyl peroxide) due to constant breakouts. I'm hoping to have a skin like yours and when you said it took you 12 months to achieve wanted results, it gave me reassurance to keep on going on my journey.
Thank you! 😊
Hi! what brand benzoyl peroxide do you use? I’m having trouble finding a brand with less than 4% 🤔
@@Alex0196 hi! Google the Epiduo cream. It has 2,5% benzoyl peroxide, but it has 0.1% adapalene as well. I got it via GP prescription in England.
Unfortunately it didn't work for my nodular acne and I had to stop using it bc the irritation on my acne was making it so much worse, but the rest of my skin was super clear!
Used tretinoin for 6 months now. No peeling…because accutane already took care of that phase 🤪
where do you get it from?
Ouch, I heard that’s Supa intense
@@griceldamata I got mine from regular doctor. It has to be prescribed.
