Read the book this year, it was amazing. The trailer has a very different tone tho, like a quirky wacky comedy, when the book felt more like a psychological thriller/feminist theory. Can’t wait to watch either way, I’m sure Amy Adams did a great job portraying Nightbitch
This is the kind of movie that in 1985 I would expect to see on at 11 PM before the TV station went off the air. I find it kind of nice in that old school corny kind of way.
An unusual number of comments are making deranged "Aw man she's *definitely* not gonna win an Oscar for this!" declarations despite the last two Academy Award winners for Best Lead Actress being for performances in weird supernatural dark comedies.
Yeah, the book by Rachel Yoder was considered an unfilmable book and Marielle Heller has delivered the proof. I knew this was never an Oscar contender for Amy Adams.
I saw an announcement about this movie a while ago and that it was based on a book. the description in the article was kind of odd but sort of interesting. i wanted to see what they did with it. seeing it visually...still kind of odd and interesting. I think i might see this. but I think I'm going to see about getting the audio book to see if the story overall is something that I like.

In the book he travels for work m-f and is only home on the weekends so she’s doing it all by herself during the week. So yes literally not there because they need the money and the job pays too well for him to quit
this trailer has such a weird vibe. the book had a much darker tone and was really interesting, either the trailer has really misrepresented the film or the film has missed the mark completely (hoping it's the former based on the R rating.)
Probably a little of both. Definitely trying to market it more as a comedy but also it’s gotta be harder to make the book into a comparably dark movie when you’re actually seeing it instead of imagining it
Yeah this marketing seems off. I didn't love the book, but it was much more sinister, introspective and pessimistic than this trailer comes across. It would be weird for them to market it like a wacky comedy if they are going to stick to the tone of the novel. So I'm thinking they´ve changed it to a more lighthearted aproach, unfortunatly.

Maybe it's just the trailer edited to be like a comedy, but there is a really good film called BITCH (dir. Marianna Palka) that is much darker about a housewife who is tired of the domestic mundanity, loses her mind, and believes she's a dog.

If you're expecting this to be an academy award-winning performance from Amy Adams you'll be highly disappointed. This is NOT going to be that film. This is no American Hustle or Poor Things knock-off. And Adams is probably really really OK with that. After all, she did produce this project. Listening to the Audible version of the book now. Every man should read this book. Extremely well written. ironic given that Man and Woman are actually two different species. Takes some living to know this.
Please check out Norturnal Animals, which have both actresses. It's just brilliant (plot, picture, costumes, ost). Don't watch the trailer to have no idea about the topic, just believe me that it is worth it! Quick note: it's a serious movie, not a comedy.
Obviously they leaned into the similarity between them to portray a "real" one along with her fictional counterpoint. That's too meta :) It would've been way trippier if they switched the roles back & forth between the actresses ...unreliable narrator, casting of doubt as to which is the "real" story?. Is she mentally ill projecting her fantasies into a fictional character she's created in her mind ...plot twist she's in a mental hospital after doing what's in the "book". Another possible plot twist Maybe she's the writer writing her dark fantasies ...maybe she writes the story & the story writes reality. Maybe this movie could've been & done so much more :)
Well... Yeah, her character is saying the truth. She is not thin. You may think that's incredible shape or whatever but that figure not thin and there is nothing contradictory in what the character said. She is obviously wanting to be thin, and there is nothing wrong with that as well.
Idk for sure but I feel like this movie will be about stay at home moms and dads who don’t appreciate them. Like her being alone with just a child isolates her and she comes up with an identity to escape into. The identity is a dog though lol.
I always had a crazy crush on Amy Adams since I saw her in Catch me if you can, but then mad love for her when she was Gisele in Enchanted....and now I'm all down for the Doggy variant of herself lol
the book is one of my favourite books I’ve read though this trailer makes the story much much lighter than it felt in the book so i’m not sure how it’ll go but I’m holding on to hope cuz i wanna like it so bad
I’m not even sure what you mean by that. The film was adapted from a novel, which happens all the time. It’s an original concept, if they were ‘running out of ideas’ I would expect a story I’ve seen a million times before.
"Wahhh everyone just keeps making sequels and remakes why can't we get anything original???" *Watches the trailer for Nightbitch* "LOL I guess Hollywood is running out of ideas this movie looks so weird I'm not watching this just give me Bill Murray in the Ghostbusters suit again!"

This will not help with me constantly mixing up Isla Fisher and Amy Adams after watching Wolf Like Me.
Please check out Norturnal Animals, which have both actresses. It's just brilliant (plot, picture, costumes, ost). Don't watch the trailer to have no idea about the topic, just believe me that it is worth it! Quick note: it's a serious movie, not a comedy.
@@juliabluerainoh yeah, that mind fucky movie. I still have no idea what it's about.
Obviously they leaned into the similarity between them to portray a "real" one along with her fictional counterpoint. That's too meta :)
It would've been way trippier if they switched the roles back & forth between the actresses ...unreliable narrator, casting of doubt as to which is the "real" story?.
It's giving Bhediya for moms (with subtext!) and I'm SAT!
What makes matters worse, this is a officially a Disney movie, imagine seeing this on the Disney+ menu lol 😂
Kinds of Kindness is on Disney+ with Hulu. Your comment is not special
Right there with Law and Order SVU….
Technically it's Searchlight Pictures under 20th Century Fox, which would put it in Hulu, not Disney+
It's going to be a tremendous good movie
Both actors playing parents were in Batman V Superman
Wheelchair dude and Lois Lane
She is such an incredibly talented actress. Love her so much.....
This trailer sold me once they started playing Midnight Sky by Miley Cyrus lol
We need more wonky movies like this
I'm so glad cinema is back. I like that we're getting these type of stories
Gives a whole new meaning to doggy style.
Ohhh God 😨They turned amy adams into amy schumer
Amy Adams better get that Oscar, long overdue ❤
'I'm never gonna be thin' says Amy's character, in incredible and perfectly normal shape lol
Normal? Yeah. Incredible? Nah man..
@@ninoextendo9680 that part is just an opinion tbf
@@bolio9383 she is visibly overweight. Stop being so american
Well... Yeah, her character is saying the truth. She is not thin. You may think that's incredible shape or whatever but that figure not thin and there is nothing contradictory in what the character said. She is obviously wanting to be thin, and there is nothing wrong with that as well.
I’m praying that we get to see the physical transformation
Is this one of those Hollywood humiliation rituals?
Idk for sure but I feel like this movie will be about stay at home moms and dads who don’t appreciate them. Like her being alone with just a child isolates her and she comes up with an identity to escape into. The identity is a dog though lol.
You actually completely figured out the plot, atleast of the book. Congrats lol.
Directors and screen writers must be running out of ideas 💀
I’m not even sure what you mean by that. The film was adapted from a novel, which happens all the time. It’s an original concept, if they were ‘running out of ideas’ I would expect a story I’ve seen a million times before.
Sorry i didnt know this was based off a book. I think i meant like good ideas? Idk the movies dont movie like they used 2 lol @acspicer
"Wahhh everyone just keeps making sequels and remakes why can't we get anything original???"
*Watches the trailer for Nightbitch*
"LOL I guess Hollywood is running out of ideas this movie looks so weird I'm not watching this just give me Bill Murray in the Ghostbusters suit again!"
@@samiliciou_s There's plenty of good movies coming out, just not from Hollywood studios, check out A24 or Searchlight Pictures for smaller films.
THIS LOOKS SO GOOD!!!
holy s***, they're trying to normalise furries with this one
What's wrong with that?
I clicked bc I thought it was an AI trailer 😂😂 Wtaf🤯😵😵💫🤣🤣
