    Hungarian checking in - glad to see foreign skincare RUclipsrs mention G&G, it's nice to see us making something people like :) I actually prefer B-Bomb to TO's niacinamide, as it's a much nicer texture, isn't sticky and will blend with everything, and their retinal serum is gorgeous, the texture is light and actually works with oily skin (unlike TO's, which are so oily that they just sit on my skin without absorbing). Thanks for spreading the word!

    I honestly feel like geek&gorgeous is one of the best skincare brands in terms of no bulls@#t philosophy. The products are so well made, so calming and “organic” to the skin... On the other hand, Paula’s Choice is the brand that started my journey into skincare, but their products are so expensive and so “complex” that my skin almost always (to the exception of a very few products) reacts badly or gets overwhelmed. In fact i almost feel that if they don’t start doing more simple, affordable, “kbeauty-like” products, they will “die of success” 😂 in a couple of years...

    Hi I may try this next, but I'm happy with the reformulated Garden of Wisdom 10% Azelaic acid for now. It is no longer a slightly gritty cream, but instead a smooth gel/serum texture and much better overall. I have type one rosacea, but i also have eczema so my skin is very dry. Many azelaic acid products are targeted at oily skin with ingredients that are quite drying.or oil balancing (eg face theory). This looks pretty good and a nice texture, but the shipping bumps up the price. Best wishes.

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  3 года назад +4

      I do still use it- I've tried others but none that I love as much as the Geek and Gorgeous. I also tried the PC one and just didn't love the texture as much as the light serum texture from G&G. I think if you asked 10 people that question you'd probably get 10 different answers. From my use and research I think if your skin isn't super sensitive you can probably use the two together, but I'd start off slow and try and introduce the Apad slowly. I'd recommend always applying the vitamin c serum first. Give it a minute to absorb, then if your skin feels fine apply the apad serum. I've read that Vitamin c and AA can play well together, especially preventing breakouts. Hopefully your skin will handle it well, but if not then using the AA at night might be the way to go. Some people have good luck using them together so hopefully that will be the case for you!

What is your stand on claims that The labelling of a-pad is misleading, since The 20% refers to “azeclair” a 6% solution of Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD), meaning The geek & gorgeous product is really a 1,2% solution of PAD? Do you Think Its a problem? Do you Think It could still be effective? And How does this product compare to the products on The market containing 10% azelaic acid In your opinion? Im a fan of The product and The Line btw. Just a bit puzzled by the labelling on this particular product and what it means.

      I totally know what you mean. I think a lot of brands do it in the same way they call Vitamin C derivatives "Vitamin C" or any type of retinol "retinol" even though apples to apples it's different. I also think in the short run it might be more helpful to customers so they know what "type" of ingredient they are using. In the long run it isn't the best way to go because people will start to get confused and not understand the difference between the two. And some people will have different results between apad and a true Azelaic Acid Serum. I've had great luck with both those ingredients, but that's probably not going to be the case with most people.

      When I come up to the cabin I usually bring the PC Azelaic Acid (because of the tube packaging). I find the PC to be a little strong, plus it's hard to use with other exfoliants since it has salicylic Acid in it. It's also a lot thicker texture since it's a cream. The Geek and Gorgeous can fit into a morning and evening routine, which is nice.

I asked em about bha in product, and they stated it was 1/2% bha and used mainly as a tool to help penetration of product. They do claim you can use another exfoliant with there azaleic acid (which I do) I haven’t found it (PC product) THAT strong but I do agree everyone is different skin toleration levels.

    I haven't tried this. Azelaic acid at over the counter percentages doesn't really have research to back it up. I think 15% and 20% products are prescription? This is the equivalent of about 6%. Not to say that it doesn't work, just that the higher percentages are what have been shown to be clinically effective. I am sure if L'Oreal or Neutrogena decided to make a lower % azelaic acid product they would invest in research to show that it is effective. I assume this one wouldn't exfoliate at such a high pH and would mainly be a tyrosinase inhibitor.
    I use their A-Game and C-Glow and my sister uses the B-Bomb. They essentially copied CE Ferulic for C-Glow so presumably it is the best affordable option for vitamin C. Retinaldehyde has been shown to be effective by Avene and can be used around the eyes so A-Game is presumably a good "retinol" option. One study showed that retinaldehyde at 0.05% is 25 times weaker than Tretinoin at the same concentration. But another showed that 0.1% retinaldehyde only differed from from 0.05% retinaldehyde regarding melanin and otherwise they had the same effects. I recommended the niacinamide to my sister because every other niacinamide serum in existence is sold out at the moment. I don't use more than 3% niacinamide because I don't see the need but this is a nice gel texture.
    Overall, this brand was a great find for me. I don't like the formulations of The Ordinary products and The Inkey List doesn't really offer the same quality of actives. The only product from The Ordinary that I would consider worth buying is the 1% retinol and only because it is so hard to find any affordable alternatives. I would say to keep C-Glow in the fridge because otherwise it does turn yellow. It was only on my repurchase that I decided to refrigerate it and it has been over a month with no colour change

      I've been pretty impressed with Geek and Gorgeous so far. I've found their products are much more aesthically pleasing than say, The Ordinary. This Serum was super easy to fit into my routine and for me it's made a huge difference. I've wanted to enjoy an Azelaic Acid product but most of them were too thick and didn't mesh well with my other products, this one made it so much easier to add in. A winner for me, that's for sure.

    • @moose8762

      @@NOBSBeauty I think that is because azelaic acid is a gritty powder so companies use silicone to remove some of the grit.
