I'm so happy seeing that u give genuine replies and ask questions to make sure when ppl are asking u questions about their routines or products they want to use or even their concerns.....not all youtubers do that, I've had an experience where I wrote my concern and the only reply I got from that RUclips was ''ok,good'' like that was such a turn off.....I'm genuinely so happy seeing ur replies are longer than the actual comments, seeing that u really do look into the matter which makes me trust u more and more ♡

I am not sure why "others" aren't doing it. But I think RUclips is mainly used for advertisements or generally selling products, and it's not so much about helping others personally. You won't get paid when helping them, you only get paid on the views and/or affiliate links, so it's not great for business and only costs money or time. Also, if you are a big RUclipsr, this will likely be impossible to manage independently, and the Networks do not do it because it's not profitable again. There may be other reasons, but that would be the most obvious to me.
Personally, I think it's very beneficial to connect with (you)viewers to learn more about skin issues or how people apply the products to understand and improve their concerns. That way, I can enhance my content further to create better videos.
However, it will not be manageable anymore for me at some point in the future, and I need to find a different solution. Not sure will see, and time will tell 😉
And thanks for the feedback. 🙃

Yes, that's fine! You can probably use them on the same day (if tolerated): the exfoliating acid cleanser in the morning and a regular one in the evening when using your retinol. Alternatively, you can use both in the evening but on different days.

Hello Melissa! I just started G&G A-Game 5 now :) I'm excited, my 1st retinoid!! 🤩 Would it be about 2 pumps of the product, for that pea size amount? I'm so careful expecting my face to burn off 😅 that I'm not even sure if I applied a pea size amount 😂 I did one pump 1st, it didn't seem a pea size amount, so used a 2nd pump (half or full pump, not sure).
Before A Game, I applied some moisturizer along my nose and under it, also on the corners of my lips (Benton's snail bee lotion). And I used Avene's Physiolift eye cream for my under eyes (this one has retinal too).
[Before trying out A Game, my PM routine was Benton's snail bee essence + lotion (and cleansing with Toleriane creamy cleanser)].
Now waited half an hour after applying A Game and will apply Benton's lotion on top of the G&G A game.
Btw, I didn't try A game on my neck just in case, I can apply it there too, right? But I heard the neck is more sensitive, so maybe let's see how my face does 1st?
    Thank you, as always! 😊♥️✨

      Hello 🙂
Well, it will not be that bad. Usually, these moisturizer techniques are used for retinoids in higher concentrations. But the retinal 0,05 should be okay.
Anyway, you can, of course, do it. If you use too much or too often in the beginning, the irritation usually shows up after a few days, so you may think everything is fine; I tolerate it well, but then it really starts to become uncomfortable.
A pea-sized amount would be a bit more than half a pump. Now, you need to be careful around the eyes (corners) and lower lash line; that is where I often experience irritation. I have never experienced irritation on my neck with a retinoid or retinol but with an exfoliant, but again the same applies to what I just wrote above 🙂

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Hello again dear :) Thanks a lot for your advice, I came back here to let you know I am now in my 5th week using G&G A-Game 5 :)
I am now applying it 3 days a week Mon-Wed-Fri (I think I've done so for 2 or 3 weeks).
I did some experiments, like putting some moisturizer as I said along the corners of the nose and lips, but I dropped that fast and haven't had any issues there.
I started just on my face and then tried my neck and upper dec. (I don't wear scoop necks, so I just apply the down the collar of whatever top I'm wearing, so basically just the neck).
I wait about half an hour and then apply a moisturizer. At the beginning I noticed the skin felt tighter, because I am used to applying an essence + moisturizer on damp skin, and G&G is applied on dry skin and it's quite a dry serum, so not sure if what I felt was just the lack of moisturizer/essence or the retinal. In any case, it looks like it's going fine.
What didn't go well was my eye area. I dropped Avene's retinal (Physiolift eye contour) because I had a tiny bit of irritation / eczema at the corner of my eyes (crow's feet) and the irritation spread downward a bit on one of my eyes. My derm had said I could use Avene's retinal eye contour even if I had that bit of irritation at the corner of my eyes, but I guess my eye contour area is too frail, that is quite a disappointment. I'm now using Dexyane Med for that area and dropped sunscreen there too. --- Not sure if using a chemical SPF with alcohol denat wasn't good for my eye area with the retinal, even if I've never had issues before with it (LRP hydrating milk SPF50, LRP sunscreens have alcohol denat but I've always been told they are not irritating).
In any case, I was dreading retinal/retinol and it seems this G&G serum is super well-tolerated even for very sensitive skin, so no need to freak out.
      Hugs and hope you're well!

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  Год назад +1

      @@Hvitlys Hey 😀
Yes, around the eyes is the part where most people get irritation, even though you may not apply it right on that area, but the skin is very thin/fragile; therefore, it does that. You could use a balm or a heavier cream to protect it or use a retinol with a much lower strength to avoid it, or using it less often may also work. So again, you need to experiment.
A sunscreen with alcohol denat is usually not an issue, but if you already have sensitive or damaged areas on your skin, it may harm it; that is at least my experience. The best would be to use a mineral SPF, but good formulations are often very expensive for daily use.

      Hello Kaye,
I think that there is no need to do this at all. Best to start with using it 2-3 times a week without any moisturizer and slowly increase the frequency to daily use. And if you should experience dryness over time, add a moisturizer to it. (Flaking is normal and not a reason to add a moisturizer) just make sure to avoid the corners of your eyes and lips as otherwise it will become irritated, or just apply a bit of moisturizer on these areas before using the retinal! :)

After cleansing I use PC Omega moisturizer and then use the PC retinol/bakuchiol combo. I haven't had any irritation.

The easiest way to get rid of the blackheads is to extract them and then maintain them with Salicylic Acid or even a retinoid (Adapalene) or the retinal shown in this video. You can only use it in that area if needed.
And are you sure that it is your skin that peels off, or do you have pilling because you used too much serum and/or moisturizer?

      Hello 😀
Yes, you can use that cleanser with any other skincare products you have at home.
And what low pH cleanser do you use? 🤔 Because there is only a couple that I can think of which may conflict. And it is very unlikely that you are using them 😉 All the others have a lower pH, but they usually call it low pH if it is around 5-6 ;)

Thank you so much dear for your precious time and reply❤️❤️
Currently I’m using t.o squalane cleanser.
I was thinking of switching to cosrx low ph good morning cleanser or g&g jelly joker.and incorporating t.o buffet into my skincare. And was curious about using the low ph cleanser with peptide if it will have conflicts

@@samirsaleh2140 COSRX Low pH Cleanser isn't really a 'low pH' cleanser, therefore don't worry about it! Out of the two you have mentioned, I prefer Geek & Gorgeous Cleanser! :)

    5. can I use moisturizer after using salicylic acid serum? if yes, after how much time?
    6. Can I use 5% niacinimide serum & 2% salicylic acid serum one after the other ?
    7. can salicylic acid give u even skin tone?
    8. is it okay to use a cica gel at night instead of a moisturizer?
    9. is it okay to use 2% salicylic acid serum for a beginner?
    10. is it okay to use salicylic acid serum even if u dont have THAT much of a breakout ?
I'm sorry for all the questions XD

      1. can barrier creams act as a moisturizer
      2. can barrier creams get rid of acne/textured skin?
A barrier cream can be anything; it's mainly a marketing term, so yes, it can. And yes, depending on what the cream contains, it can help to improve your acne. If you tell me what cream you want to use, I can better assist you.
      3. how should the routine be of a 15-year-old who uses a 2% salicylic acid serum?
      4. should I use salicylic acid at AM or PM ?
      5. can I use moisturizer after using salicylic acid serum? if yes, after how much time?
You can use Salicylic Acid once or twice daily; the main issue is using other exfoliating acids or retinol or retinoids along with it. But if you just use SA, then there shouldn't be an issue. Since this is a treatment, age isn't as important. You can use a moisturizer afterwards; you just need to find one that does not clog the pores and feels comfortable for your skin type.
      6. Can I use 5% niacinamide serum & 2% salicylic acid serum one after the other?
      Yes, there is no conflict.
      7. can salicylic acid give u even skin tone?
No, but it can help to improve your current condition, so it is the only treatment, not a cure. But it can make a huge difference when used regularly. So, for example, it can help you remove the dead skin cells, reduce inflammation or regulate oiliness, etc. Therefore, your skin will become more even over time.
      8. is it okay to use a cica gel at night instead of a moisturizer?
Depends on the overall formulation. So what do you use? Haven't you used that particular gel or product?
      9. is it okay to use 2% salicylic acid serum for a beginner?
When being new to a product, you should always do a patch test that can help you determine if you are sensitive or not. But yes, of course, unless you do not tolerate it well, which can always happen.
      10. is it okay to use salicylic acid serum even if u dont have THAT much of a breakout ?
Maybe best to only use a spot treatment instead of the serum. So a Benzoyl Peroxide stop treatment is most effective for "a few pimples/breakouts."

Shouldn’t you wait 30minutes or less before applying Retinal or Tret after your serum/moisturizer? Atleast that’s what the dermatologists recommended based on reviews.

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  2 года назад +1

No. He/she likely meant Retin-A, which is tretinoin. It is different from retinal. It is very confusing.
Here are a couple of videos you can watch:

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet oh so retinol and retinal doesn’t really require any waiting time before and after it’s applied while using other products? I thought it was different from retinol because it’s closer to tret already because it only requires one step when it comes to transition to retinoic acid in our skin unlike retinol which requires two.

@@lonewolf5969 Yes, so it is right in between. Still, the % here is much lower, so therefore, it shouldn't be an issue unless you have very high strength. But that's all just theory. Just test it and see what works best for you :)
