I love how you’re adding the time stamps in. It’s so helpful! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. It’s made my tretinoin journey so much easier
She's amazing
whats your skin type? and what moisturizer do you use after using tretinoin?
Love them too! They make it easy for me to review the info again and decide what product to try next.
@@spontaneouslycombust4992 I love the second Cerave that she mentions.
@@joycej9415 thanks for your suggestion!!!
Top 10 sunscreens while using Retinol please
Hope she'll see this!!!! I would also like to know
yeeeees
interesting!
In my personal experience the mineral sunscreens are better than chemical ones, less chance of irritation or stinging
I'd like to know too, but usually her recommendations are too heavy for me. I do use Retin A every night and Blue Lizard Face SPF 30 every day. The SPF 50 in any brand is too heavy for me.
The lighting in your home looks so cozy.
Dr. Dray almost has 1 million subscribers! I still remember when she was first starting off! Congratulations
Dr Dray. Your skin is gorgeous. I really appreciate these videos. It makes the process of understanding my skin and taking the best care of it that I can within my budget more doable 💜
Delighted to see you use Australias QV brand. The chemists at Queen Victoria hospital made their first hand cream for their nurses over 100 years ago! They have a new range of ceramide products too!
Love the brand, their QV light moisturising cream has ceramides, niacinamide and lactic acid
I like the format for your videos. Straight to the point and you dont add a lot of dialogue about one product. thank you!
Ive taken a break from RUclips over the past year and found your channel again. I appreciate your calm confident energy, I always learn so much from you. Thank you
Dr.Dray you are the only professional I trust when it comes with skin care products. Thank you for your work!. ❤
I needed this video as i have been trying to figure out a reputable retinoid product and still moisturize well. Thank you for all you do. You’ve saved me money and educated me.
So thankful to actually have the time to share in-depth skin care information!!
Thank you, you answered sooooo many questions for me. I have wasted so much money trying to find the right things. I takes so long to stop believing the claims in marketing for products. You are appreciated.
Your knowledge and suggestions are wonderful. I’ve been binge watching your videos and also buying most of the products you recommended and so far, I’m pleased.
The way i was looking for this exact topic on what moisturizers go with retinol, and just knew dr. dray probably has a video on it. The queen of skincare
Absolutely the best timing ever as I was itching to try a new lotion to use with my retin-a!
Happy Monday, Dr Dray! Even though I don't use any type of retinol, I appreciate the moisturizer recommendations. Thank you! Hope you have a cozy evening!! 💖
Your work is soo organised and clean and professional....i LOVEEEEEE it!!!!❤️💜😍
Another super useful video, as always.
I've been prescribed adapalene by my dorm and was given no instructions how to use it; that's how I discovered you 3 years ago and I still remain a loyal fan.
Thanks for everything!
I love that she/ u are so on point with the real information I'll keep watching you
This is the first time I used the cerave cream BEFORE my retinol, and for the first time I woke up without irritation!! Thank you Dr Dray 🤍🤍
What did you used cerave night cream?
I am quite impressed and happy with your product recommendations regarding my roceaca . Huge improvement and smoother, even toned skin. Kudos to you Doc!
I didn't really pay attention to my skin until recently and thank you for educating us. I used to just put baby oil on my face. I'm sticking to CeraVe products and so far it's working well for me.
I love the cerave renewing night cream! I've been using it with for a few weeks now and my sensitive skin tolerates it well.
Love the Cerave Night Cream. Works great with my Retin A. I never have peeling.
Dr dray you are the best!! I’ve just started tretinoin and was hoping to find a video by you on this, so this video is perfectly timed, thank you!! ❤️❤️
Vanicream cream has been a lifesaver for my sensitive, rosacea-prone skin.
My fav 🙌🏾
can we use it on the face?
@@yoanle6872 Yes!
Im scared this will break me out does it have fatty alcohols and coconut in it?
doesn't vanicream have petrolatum or mineral oils?
I was prescribed QV when I was having radiotherapy and can vouch for how soothing it is for painful, tight and damaged skin.
Hey Dr. Dray. Brazil loves your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the whole planet!
Appreciate your concern in giving information so kind of you
I can't imagine my life without Dr dray❤️
I was literally planning on buying a new moisturizer tomorrow. Dr. Dray you read my mind.
I remember when u had less than 500 subscribers wow Over A MILLION!! You Go Girl!!!! If I’m Ever In TEXAS maybe I Can Get an Appointment. Thank You For all Your work and Sharing it With All of Us. I’m a CeraVe woman ALL THE WAY!!!! I also Love LaRouche Posey Vitamin B Balm!!!!
This video seriously came at just the right time -- as my face is stinging from applying my everyday moisturizer after just starting tret. Thanks so much for the info and recs Dr. Dray, you're the best.
I use the Vanicream Lotion ...I am very sensitive and this works great!
Dr. Dray, your skin looks so good! Thank you for the free knowledge and advice.
Love love these videos about retinol! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I’m so happy 😀 I found this channel. Thank you 😊!
I have started to use retinol the way you suggested doc... and zero irritation on my skin..❤❤
Hi Dr. Dray! Greetings from Colombia! We don´t have a lot of the products available in the US but I have tried to find them through amazon and the ones I´ve tried are great. You have helped me so much. Thanks a lot.
Looking back and found this super video from the vault.
Thank you SO much for this video!! This has been my exact issue.. Finding a good moisturizer to pair.
Hi Dr Dray,
I had to come and post to say, thank you! I have been having problem skin and breakouts for a while, so I changed my skincare routine and added a retinol (CeraVe resurfacing serum.) I was having nice results as far as skin resurfacing, but breakouts were in fact getting worse. In this video you mentioned how salicylic acid can sometimes cause problems with retinol. A lightbulb went off for me. I was using a salicylic acid face cleaner! After watching your video I cut it out of my routine and in only a few days I have noticed my breakouts are already clearing up and im having less new ones. Thank you so much for the posting this! It has been a very frustrating situation, so this information was truly helpful and much appreciated!
Very helpful for dealing with a potentially complex issue. Thank You ♥️
I love the anti aging benefits I have seen with my 0.035 tret Rx but my skin has been arguing with it for nearly 2 years. I finally now put Vanicream on my face 20 minutes before the tretinoin and it's made a huge difference to my tolerance and very little irritation.
So helpful. I sandwich by applying cerave lotion, then retinol, then a thick layer of cerave night renewing cream on top. All dry before next layer and do not overwash!
I really love the chapters tab in this video
I watched the full thing but it was so great to go back and rewatch a certain topic I watched to review💛
Just in time when I needed this the most ! Thank you ❤
Once again great information and advice!
Catching up with you Tuesday morning 😊🍁
Lovely video thanks Dr Dray 🤩. It’s bonkers how you find time to create content daily on top of your job! Personally, I love Cerave night cream here in the UK and layer before using my retinol cream. A very good Monday! 🥳💕🇬🇧
My derm unfortunately NEVER told me about healthy skin barrier. I suffered with acne, peeling skin...and the viscous cycle of thinking “drying out” my skin would stop the acne, then over moisturizing to combat the dryness. I’ve since then been using only CeraVe morning and night after cleansing...retin a before bed. Of course sunscreen after cera ve in the morning. My skin has never been better! Thank you Dr. Dray for sharing your knowledge......free!❤️😀
Thank you for these suggestions, for listing the links & for noting the times on this video.
Thanks so much for this! I use tretinion and have been wanting to have a safe but good moisturizer now the Dr Dray approved list is here. Before this I'm putting my bet on CeraVe sure it's on the list. Also have LRP Lipikar AP+M stand by, but it's even thicker then the CeraVe Renewing one, although both use shea butter.
Doc I started using retinol a few weeks ago since you helped me to alleviate my concerns about them. I’m starting off slowly 🤞
My first product was neutrogena frag-free repair cream and that paired well with cerave cream for my skin.
After I finished both I’m now using la roche-posay eff gel and that’s been pairing well with cetaphil daily lotion ✌️
This video is so informative, Thank You Dr. Dray. I only use The Ordinary 2% but usually put my moisturizer on after. Thought the retinol should be put on directly because it is a mild formula. Good to know you can use it before. Going to try the Avene. Looks like a good product.
You are amazing even with me eating wrong my skin STILL has tremendously improved over the months, from watching your videos 🙌🏾🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.
Very good information. Thank you Dr.
You have changed my skin and hair for the better! Not to mention my budget! Thanks for being so informative.❤️
I tried the vanicream facial moisturizer. It even says for sensitive skin, but it has added acids. It's a compound and it made my face sting. I switched to Cetaphil for cleanser and moisturizer. No sting. So gentle and my Trentinoin goes on after. Finally found what works for me.
That’s so weird because I’m the complete opposite. I swear by, and absolutely love vanicream cleansers and moisturizers. I have very sensitive, dry, and acne prone skin , and one of the only brands that doesn’t burn my skin, break me out, or leave my skin still dry is Vanicream. I’ve tried several cetaphil products and almost every one I’ve tried didn’t work for me. They either breaks me out, burn, or cause a lot of irritation on my face, mainly around my eyes. Their moisturizer weren’t bad, they just didn’t do enough for my skin. Their cleansers seem to be what irritates my skin the most, especially when used with retinol.
Omg I just happened to shop for a new moisturiser since starting my vitamin A, just got the QV ego LOtion and boom you came out with this video!
I live in really humid hot weather and have comb skin so I do prefer the lotion better over creams! Thanks doctor dray
Great topic, Dr Dray helpful as always!
Thank you for giving us affordable options! I watch your videos so I can get the best products at the best prices :)
Thank you for the time spants! Super useful! Amazing video like always!
Thank you so much for your insight!!You are extremely thorough and trustworthy.
🌷 Thanks Dr. Dray! Thanks for the great information and to go straight to the topic, saves one so much time in guessing and comparing products.
Hi Dr. Dray. Just wanted to give a big thank you for all your hard work and FREE information you share with all your viewers. I personally see a dermatologist in my area but I feel as if you are also my personal Doc lol. You have the most informative videos of any that I watch (and I watch ALOT, skin care ENTHUSIAST would be a weak term lol). Keep up the hard work! With love from NC
Thanks Dr. Dray! I needed this! Have a great week!
thanks for watching!
Great information! Also, I really like your hair parted on the side!
Dr dray that's so crazy, I have been thinking about what moisturiser to use with my retinol, I commented on your most recent video asking this question, and I just noticed now that you posted this video the exact same time I posted that comment!
My oily acne prone skin has actually paid off for me in late middle age. I've used RetinA most my adult life and now I use adapeline. I use the thick CereVe on top of it and my skin is better than ever. Of course I don't smoke and have always used sunscreen. All these things help in the aging process.
hi! what is the thick cerave? the cream or the one thats clear like Vaseline? thank you!
@@lynnshasta3901 cream
@@lynnshasta3901 the thicker cream is a night time renew cream, made with shey butter. Here it’s purple and white where as the reg moisturizer is blue and white/label

Thank you so much Dr Dray! very informative and always helpful
Thank you for being aware of products that are available in Australia 🙏🏼
Thank you for letting us know what NOT to combine. I will be looking through your videos to find more of that. There are so many ingredients to consider that it’s hard to know what’s okay, especially if you’re new to retinol products.
really helpful video. Thank you Dr. Dray. Would you consider doing a video on which facial spa treatments you would and would not recommend to the general public and why? For example, do you think going for regular chemical peels at a spa would help people with acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, etc.?
Excellent advice as always. Your skin is looking amazing by the way Dr Dray XX
Thanks Dr. Dray you are No Nonsense, I appreciate your advise. Very Helpful!
Happy Monday everyone❤️, my school has gone into lockdown again but your videos really entertain me, thank you so much.
stay safe! Thanks for watching :)
@@DrDrayzday hi dr. Dray!!! I just received aveno 0.5 ratrinal cream. I am going to try to from tomorrow with cerave moisturizering cream...I just tried naturium plantbased ceramide cream and it leaves my face more oily and I think made me breakout...only used it two days..or could be wishtrend mandelic acid prep water.. I wanted to love it but either one of them causing me breakout.
@@DrDrayzday good morning my favourite dermatologist, please can I use both differin adapalene and neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair cream together in my night routine? Like I mean, I cleanse my face with my gentle cleanser, then follow up with my adapalene and then lastly my neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair cream? Is it okay like this?
Aside from being knowledgeable about skincare, what I like about Dr. Dray is her effort to save her viewers some money. Now, only if I could have her immaculately flawless complexion...that would be so nice 😏✌🇵🇭
Thank you! This is a great video. You always have great videos. I learn so much from your channel. 💕💕💖
Very informative!!! Loved it!
It's like you knew I was starting retinol
Thank you for this!🥰 Been thinking of including retinol to my skin care. Happy Monday Dr Dray and to all!
Love your videos💕 I have followed your recommendations and it has help my skin 💯%
Very informative vid, thank you so much Dr Dray 💖
I loved your last vlog Dr. Dray! Also, very informative. Retinol is great, I am re-trying adaplene.
Was waiting for this video. Thank you, Dr.Day!
Can you recommend any spot treatment?
Enjoy all your tips! Thank you!
Thanks so much Dr Dray! Your the best❤️
Cerave, Squalane oil, and Vanicream rock for my sensitive skin that’s been made even more sensitive with retinoids and retinols. I also will throw on some Aquaphor or CeraVe healing ointment over my moisturizer at times for extra moisture while sleeping. 👍😉
So after the retinol, you put a moisturizer and slug after? I prefer petroleum jelly. I've heard you shouldn't slug when you use retinol
@@nenabunenathat's right because it can cause it to penetrate deeper and cause further irritation and compromise the stability of the product. Especially during retinization period.
You saved my sensitive skin recommending vanicream. Thank you so so so much. It’s inexpensive, doesn’t burn and is so hydrating!
Do u use the cream or lotion
@@sarat8389 Lotion if you're more oily based
Would really really love if u cud pl do a video on complete skin care for over 50 years 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
love your comments on different moisturizers bbb
As a child, whenever I got rashes, allergies, bumpy amd itchy patches on my skin, my mom would always recommend La Roche Posay. it was always so cool and calming, instantly moisturizing 😍
I'm glad you made this video dr Dray. I'm using tretinoin cream, I apply it before bed on moisturised skin (I have a bath/shower about 7-8pm, apply on my skincare, except tret, right after). I tolerate it very well, even at the beginning I had very minimal side effects. But I keep seeing on instagram (from some dermatologists, other experts, not random people) that applying tretinoin on top of moisturiser can affect absorption (active vit A won't reach deep into the skin, occlusives and emollients are to blame) so basically you waste most of the product🤷♀️. I cannot apply tret on dry skin, 30 min after washing my face, my skin will feel like Sahara desert😩 (plus I love my toners, essences, serums etc. I have plenty of those😬)
this was exactly the video i was looking for
thanks so much for this-----very helpful !
I do a moisturizing sandwich, so moisturizer before tretinoin and once it's dry, moisturizer on top. The climate I live in is extremely dry, especially in winter, and with good old menopause causing my skin to be drier on top of everything else, I find I need that extra protection. 🙄
Do you have oily skin? Do you use heavy moisturiser after retinol?
@@spontaneouslycombust4992 They answered both of those things in their original comment...
@@raerohan4241 and Where's the original comment?
@@raerohan4241 and Where's the original comment?
I absolutely love using the la roche posay lipikar with retinol. It's so rich, but absorbs completely and leaves the skin so well moisturized. I typically apply Clinique Moisture Surge 100 hour underneath, and always apply my retinol first. This combo has proven ideal for me.
So, retinol shouldn't b used first followed by moisturizer
@@animabiswas7594 of course it can
Thanks for ur reply
Do you use lipikar on your face? My derma gave me that one for my body. Thanks! 😁 i also like it, but I will try more to see if I can find something better.
@@paolandre no, I dont. It never occurred to me, because I have sooo much skincare. It's pretty strong, so if I did, I'd probably mix it and only do it once a week. That's probably all my skin could handle. I do use Good Elephant glycolic body lotion on my face, though, so maybe lipikar would be okay.
I have been using retinol before my moisturizer but I will try it the other way around. Using the ordinary but almost finished and then I have the versed one with bakuchiol. Very excited to try that one out next 😀
Thanks for talking about QV for those of us not in the US!
I bought QV thinking it would be for sensitive skin .. but it is stinging my skin ...
@@tanukahlon8085 I find the cream can be stinging on my face, but they have a nice gentle facial moisturiser for sensitive skin that is great for me.
