- The 2022 Grammys was a fashion disaster. Not only did it completely bore from a stylistic perspective but the fit issues, poor styling, and uninteresting styling overall made it incredibly forgettable. From Dua Lipa & Doja Cat both repping Versace to Billie Eilish stepping out in something new with Rick Owens to the dull Olivia Rodrigo moment, there was much to discuss just not all of it good.

I think Gaga look was very appropriate for the night because she was going to give a tribute to Tony Bennett. So her wearing a very simple dress is just perfect as it shows focuses on their work rather than her dress.
even though the dress was "simple" for gaga her dress was better than a lot of what other people were wearing that night

I think this was their attempt at it... I mean her past looks from earlier this year I feel were aiming at it.
She's wearing Vivienne Westwood meaning they tried and failed lol. Her magazine shoot stuff is better.

I’m so happy Billie is not letting anyone dictate what she wears. The assumption that women should wear sexy clothes and show their bodies when they do not want is so tiring. I’m sick of people acting like her frumpy looks aren’t ok to criticize just because they’re supposed to be modest. You can be modest and tasteful, it’s not limited to clothes 5x larger than your body. Lauryn Hill did it all the time

what makes it worse is that majority of Olivia’s fits off red carpets are actually so good. So like why isn’t that translating? Even her after party look for the Grammys was stellar- a turquoise Blumarine dress, her hair was actually up, glittery eye makeup, it was fun and youthful but still fashionable! Her stylists do not know how to prioritize or curate her looks at ALL.
The way magazines and other photoshoots style her have been great, too. I don't understand why her stylist insists on these underwhelming outfits (like that red Brits ensemble) when there's so much inspiration for her style and image. They could do so much more.

The hair also kinda pissed me off because her hairstylist has been doing the same boring curls over and over again for every event. It's weird because when you see her magazine shoots, after parties or just personal outfits they're fun and show personality but the outfit for the Grammy's was just underwhelming from the hair to the dress.

Louis Vuitton always put BTS in the most boring outfits imaginable and this time was slightly better than usual but it’s absolutely not as good as they could be. I just want them in something closer to their album photoshoot scale or performance wear on a red carpet for once.

the color of doja's dress was so dreamy especially paired with the crystals and i really loved billie's look because it wasn't a "pretty" outfit but she looked so cool and i love the pearls on lil nas' fit.

I like the change in Billie's style, you had the youthful oversized Streetstyle Logomania - childlike, a cocoon almost - then blooming into this short beige lingere-bodycon period shedding childhood and now after this vunerable moment some sort of new dark-elevated cocoon. Its all black and she is drowning in more fabric than ever, there is surely some symbolism there. But her expression through multiple art forms, be it music, dance or fashion make her a full memorable artist to me. She tells her whole lifestory through art, she is solidifying herself as an "Icon" of our generation.

Oof, yeah Saweetie’s look is rough. She pulls off the top SO well compared to the runway model, it would’ve been a killer look if the skirt was tea/ankle length. Someone needs to fire that stylist lol.
You know what I was like, "This guy's a hater!"when he critiqued her dress because I thought it was fine; definitely suits her brand but I see your point about the skirt.
I think maybe they were trying to go for a skirt that like just barely grazed the floor and, considering the fabric, that would've been lovely (even if we would've been cheated out of those hot pink tights and heels). Do stylists not understand how fabrics work? Anyone could tell that a fabric as structured as that one should never drape or attempt to create a train. In any case they failed and I feel for the seamstresses that had to make this look.

@@brilliantnights4860 You can dig further into the research available online yourself, but a short synopsis is a lot of people disagree with their deep conservative views (published as early as 2006 as far as I'm aware), relating to various interviews/comments they made about anti-gay parenting, anti-gay marriage, calling IVF the production of 'synthetic children' etc etc etc (why the two of them never got married and don't have kids). Then in 2018 there was a series of ads that angered a lot of people, and Stefano Gabbana also claimed his social media account was hacked, but tbf he has a broad history of just saying offensive sh*t and getting away with it. In 2019 they sued 2 U.S bloggers in an Italian court demanding a ridiculous amount of money in damages. In recent years they have clawed their way back into the fashion world by brute force (i.e. paying bucketloads of money to celebs to wear their brand).
Meghan thee stallion's dress is giving me 2006 video vixen vibe. With all the fame she has, she is a beautiful women. The designer always messed her up (except for the grammy)

I grew up in Las Vegas. There are tailors and smoking is only allowed in gaming areas in casinos. You don't have to pass through a casino to get to where the Grammys where held.

I like Kourtney and Travis's look as a couple, it kind of plays of masculine/feminine dynamics in a way I think is fun. Travis has the bright pink, almost gown-like oversized coat, as well as a necklace, while Kourtney has the more tailored black number, no jewelry. And yet at the same time the black outfit is still feminine in the gloves and the cutouts and the pink still a mens look with the suit underneath. I think it's a fun combo.
And I say this as a fan of neither lol. I was happily surprised.

i think my biggest problem with olivia rodrigo’s styling is whoever is dressing her is putting her in outfits that just seem too mature for her, if that makes sense. she’s still a teenager, correct? so why would they try so hard to put her in “sexy outfits” i’m not saying she needs the full billie eillish type of styling, but i’d rather see her in something sweeter and youthful on the carpets not so much the ~sexy~ little black dress moment. i think once she develops more into her career, she’d knock it out in the LBDs but i just don’t think she’s there yet. i guess there’s always room for her to grow and develop a more personal sense of style and we will just have to see with time

Japanese Breakfast in Valentino was one of my favs, I feel like the look suited her music and vibe so well, and the nails were a great detail.

My heart goes out to you, this whole Award Season, you have looked like Red Carpet fashion has betrayed you.
My faves were Billie (yes with playing with shapes, her looks are always so interesting), Cynthia Erivo (stunning, the dress kinda looks like an armor) , Doja (the sandals and purse tied the look together for me) Hailey Bieber (looks basic at first but love the fact that the dress is not as tight around the waist the way silk dresses usually are, it makes it look airy and comfortable), Lil Nas X (I always know he's not gonna disappoint!) Lily ildrige ( very minimal but those straps and wires... !!!)

If u look at BTS Grammy looks side by side this is the best one out of all of them and they get more colorful and more experimental bit by bit too. It's still not very good but they are making progress so I hope that they will get there eventually. Also I really like the way u talk about each look very respectful💜

I’m pretty sure Olivia’s look is inspired by Taylor’s own first Grammy dress from 2010. They have very similar cut and sleeves and they have a similar vibe to them.
