I love the Two Towers and Return of the King, but there was a lot more I liked about the Two Towers
    Two Towers
    1. Enemy units were a little more tough to deal with, their shields didn't break after one fierce attack, if you kept blocking their attacks, kinda like how you can do a bane move, they also could do a move that broke through your parry and knock you down, Bane moves didn't give perfect mode instantly, the Troll bosses were tough ones and the epic bosses like Watcher in the Water, Cave Troll Balins Tomb, Lurtz and Sharku were very well thought out and an enjoying challenge, mostly because they became unaffected by Arrows after a certain point.
    2. The Good soldiers were a little too weak to say the least, like I know it's about your character making it through the level, but you just notice how the good soldiers just get the living shit beat out of them (except for that Golden Soldier who was immortal)
    3. The Environmental Hazards didn't do much to help, it was bombs that you didn't want to be near when you blew it up, Uruk Crossbows, threw fire bombs at you, catapults and archer fire at Helms Deep and fires that you doused with a nearby water barrels.
    4. The only really helpful item was that stone you used to level up a little faster.
    5. Dont forget to do it all over again and get Legolas and Gimli to level 10 to do the Palantir of Saruman and then unlock Isildur for the game.
    Return of the King
    1. Good soldiers are a lot tougher which is nice, but it never feels like they are in the way or make the level easier
    2. Level designs are a lot bigger and longer than the Two Towers, plus with all the insane hazard designs and puzzle pieces it was insane, fun and blew my mind even to this day.
    3. Enemy units are a bit to easy to predict sometimes and you can always block their attack, they can't brake your defense. Bane moves give instant perfect mode which everyone abused to get prefect scores and instantly buy all the upgrades. Enemy shield warriors lost their shield after 1 fierce attack. Enemy mini bosses were nice to fight, they held higher armor so you had to use more than one fierce attack to take out their armor. Troll bosses were made tougher and bigger.
    3. Bosses are still a lot of fun to fight, and with the exception of the Witch King, I though it was cheap that some bosses were affected by arrows.
    4. They gave way to much help with environmental hazards, especially with those Spears, yea those spears that can 1 hit KO Trolls, 2 hit KO enemy mini bosses
    5. Those goddamn fellowship bonuses, when you upgrade that and it unlocks for every character, so that way in game when they hit that level they can use the ability already. So most players would take Gandalfs missions first since he was already level 3 from Helms Deep and just buy the most of the fellowship upgrades with him.

Fun fact: The development of this game pre-dates the release of the Two Towers rough cut, it predates the locked off design for Gollum (who was nevertheless modelled and animated as a blue frog early on as a playable character for this game). The reason the title opens with a handful of encounters from Fellowship of the Ring was because the same studio, Stormfront, had planned on making a Fellowship of the Ring title but ran out of time. The music for the film had also yet to be scored and as such, the songs we hear are from FOTR.
The settings and characters were designed using photocopies of photographs supplied by Weta Workshop and Three Foot Six as there was no way to share the length and breadth of art required digitally at the time.
Apparently the production of this game crushed a lot of devs who would later go on to have great careers in the film industry. Beautiful game though.

It's just so satisfacory to see that both this game and Return of the King are so similar; so cohesive in design. Kind of rare, comparing to other game adaptations.
The only "bad" thing is that this doesn't have a very accessible coop mode, like the other one, but it seems great anyway.

My dad got this for my brothers and I on Christmas and we spent all night trying to beat the ring wraiths and we called for our dad to help and he showed us you have to use the torch and set them on fire. Great memories haha it’s one of those “my dad is so cool” moments

I cannot explain how much I love cyan's videos, there's just so much he and I like. Lord of the rings, helldiver's 2, Warhammer, starship troopers. If I'm super duper lucky he likes horror movies and the matrix

One of my most vivid childhood memories is getting out of class in 3rd grade, excited to play this game as soon as I got home. I grabbed a pack of Little Bites chocolate chip muffins and replayed the Village/Warg level for the hundredth time. I was a Gimli-main bc my older brother always got to be Aragorn when we did co-op. Also, Rising Revenge was the best move upgrade bc you got knocked on your ass all the time.

It's like they told the cast that the game needed to sell in Japan or something lmao, with all that "Ninja" and "Samurai" in the interviews

I grew up with this game and beat all 4 campaigns including the secret unlockable character, I never had the Return Of The King game though which saddened me

Bro, two towers and return of the king games were phenomenal! I'll never forget that hoe cave troll. The dude was hard as hell when I was young and dumb. And the helms deep battle kicking down the ladders. God, the memories thank you for this video.
Best movie trilogy of all time, too.

Each video store that had video games, This game was always rented out. For weeks even. It was crazy having video game movies this great and they came out way before the movie release.

18:26 He found it! I remember this part sometimes.
For some reason, killing enemies on the walls in this mission granted kill animations, I don't think this existed in many other parts of the game if at all.
