i remember playing this back in 2010 and during the razing of the shire i remember playing as Sauron, charging across one of the bridges to fight Gandalf and getting fucking snatched up by one of the Eagles it was...anticlimactic
I remember one time when I was playing Conquest Mode with my sister, she never played the Shire Conquest, I wanted to surprise her with the evil hero as I did play it before. So there she was in her sniping spot on the hill south of the Green Dragon over looking the whole area. I kept to the south most part of the map, hoping she wouldn't see me until the last minute. I was playing as the Balrog at the time. I got to the bridge, I powered up and planned to run up the hill. I did and learned that the Balrog was to big for the fence and got stuck. The tiny hobbit archer proceeded to shoot arrows at me, ironically she killed me with a fire arrow. It was so anti climactic.

The gd backstab and then immediate cut to Aragorn's tomb at 13:45 had my WHEEZING. That shit was a 10/10 edit. The quotes/puns throughout this video was quality. This game truly makes you feel like a Lord of the Rings: Conquest.

Used to love this game in splitscreen. The Scout being seen as a WMD where everyone starts panicking when someone declares "Its come to this!" and suddenly a misty bastard with knives is running around hunting down heroes like they owe him lunch money
I mean, I want to be clear on this. My friends and I used to do duels in BF2 so when I got this game we continued to Duel and I played the rogue because I was already infamous in the group for being really annoying with invisibility. I spent the entire match doing a pseudo Peter Griffin cover of the Lord of the Rings theme that I would make louder and more epic whenever I did a backstab successfullly and then make really quiet again when I went invisible again... My friends decided to stop this game specifically with me afterwards.... I don't know if I have any regrets.
Cyan voice acting for some these characters is actually really great. If the next LotR game or show doesn't hire Cyan to voice a character I'd be shocked.

First game I got with getting the Xbox 360, me and my dad just enjoying it and looking at it. My dad picked the Xbox up while it was running and heard a horrible scratching on the disc reader. I loved this game but whenever I booted the game I would be able to get halfway through a mission before I got booted to home. Always remembered this game in good graces but with some longing since I never really got to explore the game. Odd enough I was hoping it would be ported to Xbox one, since I would have the game hard copy but wouldn’t run into the disc reader issues. Alas it never was ported. Love the review man

This what I loved about older video games. Occasionally one would come out, your reaction would be “ooo, that looks pretty nifty” then once you’re in it goes completely off the rails in the best way possible. I think the last game I played like that was just cause 3
War to the North is better but, couch co-op on this was absolutely incredible. My best friend has been pretty much informally adopted as a brother because of the sheer amount of weekends spent at each other’s homes. Our parents would ask us on Wednesday who was going to be at the other’s place for the weekend. 😂 We would meet up during youth and plan on which co-op campaign we would stay up all night Friday beating. This game was always a great contender. We would play through the good campaign, switch to Call of Duty World at War’s American Campaign. The next weekend would be us throwing hobbits around The Shire as a troll before switching over to Dynasty Warriors 7. We’re both in our late twenties and when I came back home from deployment, he drove nine hours to play this and War to the North with me while taking shots every time we died before rewatching the entire Director’s Cuts of Lord of the Rings. I absolutely adore this game and the sheer amount of time well spent with the best friend I’ve ever had.

(Gandalf voice) Seriously this game meant a lot to me aswell back in the day till the disk broke 10 years ago I wish we had more games like this and swbf. I also actually loved it when 2000’s games incorporated scenes from the movie no matter how goofy transitions are it just really adds to the fun experience. And like you said about the villains getting a what if campaign SO COOL and the overpowered attacks like Daaang this was nostalgic!! I played this game non-stop offline for a solid year or so and then for a few weeks every year since I bought my 360 in 2010. It’s simplicity yet diversity in playable characters and storylines just gripped me. It’ll never not be my favourite game!
Oh my Lord this game gives me too many nostalgic vibes this was one of the few Games me and one of my Best Friends would play as Kids the list I could remember was Medal of Honor Allied Assault, LOTR Conquest, SWBF2 2005, and occasionally the Wii version for Medal of Honor but this game I had a blast with him especially playing the Evil side cause if I remember correctly when playing on the map Shire and you the Villains similar of SWBF2 how you could rack up points and then get to play special Characters like Vader, Luke, Windu etc... the Villain side of the map Shire would let you play as the Balrog! Which was like playing a Scarbrand or even Angron Edit: Speaking of WH40k have you seen the new game modes/trailer for SM2
I wish I could still play this game man :/.... Sadly I can't get it on PC and I don't have a console for it, and even if I did. Copies are so hard to find

My fondest memory was when we were fighting on Moria as the orcs and my friend died, but before he respawned the camera tracked his killer and the camera catches my fat orc mage charging in beating the guy to death while I was screaming "REVENGE! REVENGE! REVENGE!"
Good lord i remember working my ass off to get the platinum trophy for this game when it started dying. Got that shit before the servers shut down and you could no longer get those online trophies.
I am glad people have fun with this game, but overall I felt like it could have been way better and I found it disappointing. The pitch of “battlefront but lord of the rings!” Led me to expect more polished gameplay. The maps looked cool and some of the later campaign levels were creative though.
