      Agree they have the best customer service. I don’t think they have many employees so the owners themselves reply to all inquiries. If you have a problem, they have the authority to fix it since they own the company. By keeping their costs low, they can sell their bikes at a low price and still make a profit.

    If you can go 35 miles an hour as this bike goes I’ll take the bigger tires. Sand drifts at on bike path’s are better to handle as well with26/4 tires. My other mountain bike has the smaller tires which are ok on city street but not on beach path or Forrest and gravel roads. 2 different bikes for two different purposes. That being said thanks you for the video. Helped me make up my mind. Wired cruiser it is.

    I don't think they're trying to compete against moped style e-bikes except for the speed. It's more of a budget best bang for your buck speed category so it's going up against the Ariel Rider Kepler, Magicycle Cruiser Pro and other similar 26" variants. I have both 20" and 26" wheel bikes and there are advantages and disadvantages to both. It's a lot safer being visible to other drivers and pedestrians with the bigger wheels and I get into a lot more close calls with my 20" wheel bikes with drivers and pedestrians not seeing me. The larger wheels also give you more security and stability at higher speeds when going over cracks, bumps, potholes, etc and smaller wheels have more risk of throwing you off the bike or crashing. But yea, they really do need to move the controller to the bottom downtube.

    I'm really loving my Freedom. I do agree with the rear suspension. I had one of the ones with the wrong shock but once that was free replaced i can jump off curbs fine. I did swap the handlebars for a more aggressive mountainbike feet and made the bike feel less big but yeah still a very large bike. I wanna get a dropper seat post to make it easier at stop lights. Upgrading to a more sturdy mounted headlight is needed and i plan on swapping the rear gearing too.

    like config b. Not the outro music. I like the bicycle features. Big advantage over moto. (surron is 30lbs heavier for your staircase meneuvering adverntures) I'd want 20x4 for personal and overall reasons. Lighter weight of 1000w or less motors and extra smaller batteries for extreme range days is adequate power for me. 2000w will fit in a 20x4 wheel too. Even more effective torque. Your suspension comments are very valuable. The suspended triangle format has more effective travel. 26x4.8 with this motor would fit well. Even more speed, and more off road confidence.

  • @buffalomind6838
    @buffalomind6838 11 месяцев назад +5

    It seems like a great value, and is for what others are asking for less of an ebike with a bigger price. That in itself has to be taken advantage of by intelligent ebike manufacturers as the market is there to be taken over by more honest prices. The 2 things I don’t like about the bike is the 4” width tires, and the weight. Had they made the same exact ebike for 20lbs less I’d had purchased. Think about it you could then add in another 1000w hub drive in the front that peak to the same amount as the back while adding in another battery. And only add it in when you wanted super range. I am interested in a mid drive for my next ebike while still holding onto the hub drive as it is fun & easy to pedal or not as it is a cadence sensor.

    Damn that's a bit weird geometry on the rear triangle not allowing much rear suspension travel... Guess they didn't foresee somehow the controller box being in the way lol. Hmmm... One solution potentially i see is using 26 x 3 tire on the rear instead, so you get at least 1 inch of more travel... Man that's a bit annoying. Bet with slick tires it'd go even faster though.

    Honestly think im gonna get the bike because where I live is super mountainous with lots of downhills, so having that extra height and room would do me a world of difference. Its weight also isnt bad for what it is, very workable and I can see myself mounting a second battery on the rack if need be. I weigh around 120 pounds so having all that wouldnt be the craziest thing, but ill likely get a suspension seat post and a cushion for it to make up for the suspension.

    26 inch fat tires are safe. There is rubber on the road to stop in rain and snow. This bike is fast. To stop fast that requires contact with the road. Also, because it is fast poor road conditions come at you faster and sometimes cannot be avoided. Off road they definitely earn their keep. 20” tires will stop but won’t be as stable at the higher speeds this bike is capable of.

    The Wired Freedom is in my top 5 ebikes, but didn't make the top 3 for two reasons: First, it wasn't in stock when I was ready to order, and second, its wonderfully powerful motor renders it illegal as an ebike on UT state roads and in all 3 federal public land jurisdictions. I expect cops will become informed about 750W motor limits and 28 MPH ebike speed limits as time passes, and I just don't want the hassle of being considered a motor vehicle or an OHV instead of an ebike.
    So given my use case, I ordered the Haoqi Cheetah. I wanted full suspension, 26"+ fat tires for UT mountain offroading, good climbing torque, and a battery of at least 17AH and 800WH, all for about $2k or less. I wanted a motor of no more than 750W so I'd be legal as an ebike (legal on all 3 jurisdictions of federal public land plus anywhere in UT that bikes can go). My top 3 also included the Cyrusher Montta and Freesky Wild Cat. Standover height needed to be 29" or less because at 5'10" my inseam is 30.75". I wanted fenders and rear rack, and preferred not just rear running lights, but brake lights. I preferred half-twist throttle and Shimano shifters, a seat that is height adjustable (so no minibike configurations), 5-level pedal assist, 180mm hydraulic disc brakes, and a display that shows volts remaining in the battery.

      It's not illegal as long as it limits the amount of power to the motor (750w), regardless of how big it is. It's all in the settings. They have to prove you changed the settings since it was shipped as a class 2.

      (1) Class 1 electric bicycle shall mean an electric bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour.
      (2) Class 2 electric bicycle shall mean an electric bicycle equipped with a motor that may be used exclusively to propel the bicycle, and that is not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour.

      its larger than a mtb. The classic bike categories for "overland" are gravel, hybrid, cross country. This is more overland than mtb because mtb is meant for pure recreation trail speed/tricks. Being heavy reduces those capabilties even though the fat tires make crossing hard trails at low speeds possible. Compared to other overland styles, much more speed/range, but stairs/obstacles are a much bigger adventure.

    The competition is really the Aventure, the Kepler and all the 26x4 fat tire bikes. The mopeds are for people who don’t want to pedal and are short or kids. Tall people look like clowns on these. My Freedom easily goes 40 and peaks well over 2300 watts not sure what’s wrong with yours. I can see how this bike might be bad news for the rav 1 and similar bikes as the Freedom easily out performs them. In my experience, the 26x4 is much more comfortable and stable than 20x4. The rear suspension needs to be firm because of the limited travel (couple inches up and down but limited latterly by the controller), but that’s what you want at high speed. Going to switch to 26x3.5 road tire to improve travel. Easily the most comfortable bike I’ve ridden, you should compare the ride to other 26x4 bikes. If I had to ride 15 miles on a little moped bike, it better be to the hospital to fix my back. I go over potholes that would swallow a rav 1

    • @jfly2249
      @jfly2249 11 месяцев назад +2

      Rear suspension actually really does work well at high speed. I added a Suntour seat post and now the ride is perfect. Moving to 3.5 inches will dramatically improve travel. The tire goes up and down a couple of inches before it hits the controller. An extra inch by the controller should allow full extension of the frame. Then it’s worth getting an air shock. Really like the heavy spring fork on the Wired, it needs the weight.
