i bought a sport bike from an auction that was totalled cause someone muscled the handlebars and snapped the frame to steal the bike . it doesn't take much strength to pop those locks but that added with other protection is nice to see a company adding these small details to help prevent thefts. i too laughed when i read the ops comment
I disagree, I think they should all be priced around $500 to $1500 max. I do agree that they are all way overpriced. I'll stick to petrol and riding beyond the local neighborhood.
I’m 57 years old and I’m seriously considering this bike. The biggest reason is how quiet these bikes are. The other is the amount of power and torque! No need for gas. I can keep going. 😂
Regen would be nice but it would increase the cost because they would have to use a regen controller. It's not just a firmware update, the controller has to be capable of regen.
Regen is worthless unless you have an aftermarket controller that uses a regen thumb throttle and will actually lock up the back wheel. The range you save is worthless but it can save brake pad wear
You can have regen hooked up to your brake lever. And it will add a little regen if you pull light and full if you squeeze it Way better than thumb version

2:19 Having the belt drive connection between the front sprocket and the motor is a benefit even if it adds complexity and some weight. The belt isolates vibration from the rear wheel and suspension from reaching the spindle on the motor. It also eliminates any tension from the chain pulling on the spindle. Is the motor built robustly enough that this isn't a concern?

I am looking for a super cheap e-bike to store in a container by the road that can get me up, but not crazy expensive. I would really like to avoid gas bikes (for sound, safety of storing fuel or starting a fire ) all these comments are totally valid, but there are use cases, it’s only 2 miles from the road to my cabin, but I don’t want to make that hike all the time, plus I made friends with the property owner.

Only Reason I'm saying that is Because if you buy it from the Dealer , You Have to Pay Dealership Fees + Tax , Tag & Title , Hence Why there Is A Fulltime Headlight , Blinkers & Brake Light can be Added on to places where it's street legal. Hell in Florida Golf Carts Are Street Legal !
That's not bad at all whenever you look at Sur Ron or Talaria bikes that have less than 72v for about the same price... I'd like to test ride this just to see how it is on the street but then again I'd want street tires because I only ride street. Also 45-50 mph is exactly what I would need for street riding in a small town w/ 25 mph - 40 mph zones so that's a major plus.... I'm curious if it would handle a controller swap like a Kelly 72250 or even a VESC style controller. 😮😍🖤
It’s much cheaper to just build one! I have one that does 100 mph and I built it for 2 grand, uses a QS 273 3t and a fardriver controller pushing 350 amps! It’s faster than a 450 dirt bike! The trick is building your own battery out of used cells! I built a 72v 32ah battery for 230 bucks!
Tell em about the plastic gears in the gear box that strip out when you put it in sport mode or do wheelies with it. Has about 300 hours of life before you have to replace it at around $450 a pop
The knobby tires and 19" front wheel will both work better offroad. You don't want to squeeze the largest tire possible onto that rim. It won't be the correct shape.

79 bike is 4.6 k, it has a much more impressive off-roading capability than the xxx and comparing it with a bit more power plus 300$ cheaper i think it’s well worth it
I'd still rather have a Kawasaki 110 rl or Kawasaki 140r for the price. Though this is a good price compared to other e bikes in its class, theres no refuting that you'd be better off spending $3k on a name brand gas dirtbike.

For example the shock has to have linkage, its what connects it to the bike. And a "liner curve" what the hell does that mean??? just like riding animal cant find its fuel to operate in city . same AS machines cant find it food or fuel to operate in woody jungle .'' machines vs animal ''. not many can adapt to '''be'' in each others environment . where would you charge it if it runs out of battery ? or fuel up in deep jungle ? unless theres a system to provide fuel

three upsides, better off-roading (better suspention, + stock dirt tires), more power, and the lower price point it’s also a larger bike. The downsides are definitely there, less range, less upgradeability, no regen, but it’s okay there are definitely a reason for each bike, want street? XXX want dirt? definitely this.

I don't think it's a $5k bike. There's a video of the 72v Mantis getting absolutely smoked by the E-Ride Pro, which is a $5k bike. I think it's a compelling option but it's not anywhere on the level of power of other 72v bikes. Also I hear a clicking noise when you let off the throttle and I don't think it's the chain. Range is also questionable.

I know you love your regenerative breaking but brake pad wear and tear is supposed to happen and pads are cheap. Regenerative braking adds immense thermal and torsional stress to your entire drive train which is not cheap to replace. You'd be lucky if you got a whole extra mile in power back from your regenerative braking. Regenerative braking is a gimmick. I recommend upgrading to motorcycle brakes which are far more powerful and cheaper than bicycle brakes. Thanks for the vid. This looks like an excellent choice as a first bike.

First Gen e ride pro, talarias, and sur Ron’s all have lights that are always on
But an on and off switch would help save some battery life.

It's not difficult to make your own stealth bomber replica for cheap. The only problem I had is the police took it off me on the first ride 😂

sure the bike is 72v but only 6.5 kw vs talaria mx4 8.5 kw and they add up to about the same
if you put a new controller on the mantis but ,to bad as there is basically no part for this bike

cut some corner for the 72v name so what that dose that say about all the part how is the build quality is the battery a brand

I think he might have been sponsored so far. I've only heard positives of the bike. no shade there. You are correct. It's not just the voltage. It's also the tuning of the controller. But we'll have to wait and see.
@@zane___k7333yeah from the videos i’ve watched it’s all positives, but with my experience (i own this bike i bought it from a dealer two days ago) its crazy fast, and the range isn’t as bad as his, maybe it’s because it’s a tester bike and some sort of difference from the for sale bike but from 100-20 i got 37 miles on my mantis x, i also raced my buddie on a xxx and smoked him, the race mode on this bike is unbelievably torqy, anyway im loving the bike so far and for the price its great, i also took it off road, the tires are so much better for dirt than my buddies xxx, also the suspention, compared to the xxx it’s so much better, does it feel like a 5k bike? maybe some bikes but not somthing like the. eride, but does it feel better in quality and power than a stock ron yes most definitely.
@@zane___k7333my only two negative on the bike are the range and the brakes, the brakes aren’t bad, but there not outstanding and with the speeds your going on this bike i feel that will be my first upgrade, my second complaint is the range, i bet i could to around 45 from 100-0 but that’s still a bit low seeing as the xxx can do about 55, anyway great bike super impressive.
@rexhardman2519 seat comfort, range, suspension, controller tuning. Charge speeds Noise level. Braking stopping distance. Come on, man... For example, i love the solar e-clipse by the noise. So from the noise aspect, i wouldn't say solar is a good bike. But it is. Same with this bike. You cant judge a bike just on one metric

I don't think it's a $5k bike. There's a video of the 72v Mantis getting absolutely smoked by the E-Ride Pro, which is a $5k bike. I think it's a compelling option but it's not anywhere on the level of power of other 72v bikes. Also I hear a clicking noise when you let off the throttle and I don't think it's the chain. Range is also questionable.

@@Kingtalik4x the thing is I don't think NPL has rode an E-Ride because that bike is a $5k bike and there's a world of difference in suspension, brakes, and power between this bike and that one.
Now it's all subjective because maybe it feels like a slightly better Surron which would be around $5k but since the E-Ride exists for $5k, it's easy to see why this one is $3k.

I know you love your regenerative breaking but brake pad wear and tear is supposed to happen and pads are cheap. Regenerative braking adds immense thermal and torsional stress to your entire drive train which is not cheap to replace. You'd be lucky if you got a whole extra mile in power back from your regenerative braking. Regenerative braking is a gimmick. I recommend upgrading to motorcycle brakes which are far more powerful and cheaper than bicycle brakes. Thanks for the vid. This looks like an excellent choice as a first bike.

Okay, first time I watched this video I appreciated the detail and delivery…but having returned to this video, can we talk about the flip flops/slides??😂 Why?
