2:19 Having the belt drive connection between the front sprocket and the motor is a benefit even if it adds complexity and some weight. Regen would be nice but it would increase the cost because they would have to use a regen controller. It's not just a firmware update, the controller has to be capable of regen.
Regen is worthless unless you have an aftermarket controller that uses a regen thumb throttle and will actually lock up the back wheel. The range you save is worthless but it can save brake pad wear
You can have regen hooked up to your brake lever. And it will add a little regen if you pull light and full if you squeeze it Way better than thumb version
I’m 57 years old and I’m seriously considering this bike. The biggest reason is how quiet these bikes are. The other is the amount of power and torque! No need for gas. I can keep going. 😂
It’s much cheaper to just build one! I have one that does 100 mph and I built it for 2 grand, uses a QS 273 3t and a fardriver controller pushing 350 amps! It’s faster than a 450 dirt bike! The trick is building your own battery out of used cells! I built a 72v 32ah battery for 230 bucks!
That's not bad at all whenever you look at Sur Ron or Talaria bikes that have less than 72v for about the same price... I'd like to test ride this just to see how it is on the street but then again I'd want street tires because I only ride street. Also 45-50 mph is exactly what I would need for street riding in a small town w/ 25 mph - 40 mph zones so that's a major plus.... I'm curious if it would handle a controller swap like a Kelly 72250 or even a VESC style controller. 😮😍🖤

You mean $3k bike
@@Kingtalik4x i'm referring to 7:48 when he said it "feels" like a $5k bike
@@rickystafford7433 well directly comparing it to a bike that it “feels” like isn’t a good comparison 😂 I would hope a 5k bike would be better than a 3k bike but I’d rather have a 3k bike that feels like a 5k bike
@@Kingtalik4x the thing is I don't think NPL has rode an E-Ride because that bike is a $5k bike and there's a world of difference in suspension, brakes, and power between this bike and that one.
Now it's all subjective because maybe it feels like a slightly better Surron which would be around $5k but since the E-Ride exists for $5k, it's easy to see why this one is $3k.
@@rickystafford7433 are you making a comparison based on experience riding both bikes or just because you saw an eride race video.. again you are comparing a bike with a $2000 price difference so I would hope it had better suspension, brakes, and power. Just because he said it felt like a 5k non-named bike doesn’t mean you have to directly compare it to a 5k name brand bike
Could I put a chai battery in it
No they’ve made it hard to upgrade, personally I would get a talaria xxx bc it goes just as fast, is the same price, comes with supermotos, and it’s upgradeable
I find it HILARIOUS that some people compare these for gas powered . Relax not everyone wanna be making hella noise going 30mph 😅
7:00 i hear a rattling?
It’s because it’s not direct belt drive
@@ConnorEdwards-t2p ohh thanks
battery may rattle
but like how is the grom only 3500?!?!
sounds like your chain is tight make sure its not too tight
In 2024, $3000 with this thing, is actually insane slick price
Not really. The talaria XXX gets 4 times the range and power for the same price
@@Styles1991it doesn’t, and the mantis x is for off road, the talaria xxx is for the road. different bikes
@@liamk9906 nah I have a talaria and the sticker strictly says “for off-road use only” lol
@@liamk9906 I get it tho they’re coveting they’re own ass
That bike is set up for dirt. Not meant to be a street bike.
How it’s because it’s all cheaper components and a less quality bike that’s how… Probably still pretty good for what you get for the price
The big goofy overbite looking bit near the controller breaks it for me, it looks so dumb right there
Regen Braking is going to cost another $1000
It also doesn't do that much because you don't have the mass or general speed to use it. Region breaking doesn't work below a certain speed cars like Tesla's a fade in brakes as the regen gives up
Okay, first time I watched this video I appreciated the detail and delivery…but having returned to this video, can we talk about the flip flops/slides??😂 Why? I don’t like to nitpick or troll but the flip flops really hurt this review for me and completely distract me from the content. You might as well be wearing Uggs for this review
6:59 dont like that clocking noise
They don’t all make that noise
You can find a Suzuki DRZ400 for $3000 and not be seen wearing flip-flops while riding it.
Definately! Coming from a motorcycle back ground, I laugh at these prices and performance. Plus your motorcycle can legally ride on the road!
Only $3000. You can buy a like new 2005-2009 Harley Davidson Sportster for that price.
All... Been riding since I was 5. Please do not ride anything with crocs or sandals on. I have seen some nasty shit from having sneakers on let alone boots. Just saying.
Back to the e bike. Was thinking Varg, but these little cheaper things are growing on me. 17min of riding then waiting however long for a charge is rough. Then again a typical moto in MX is about 20 min
Man use boots don't use crocks or foam type shoes be safe use equipment minimum is gloves and helmet and some kinda closed toe shoes.Had a friend loose a flipflop on a mountain bike he lost the entire bottom of his foot to the sidewalk at high speed same will happen with electric bikes you won't stop as soon. Other wise video is helpfull just be safe.
Clip that limiter wire
Id rather have a kx85
