Rawrr Mantis X Review - All The PROS and CONS

- Been riding the new Rawrr Mantis X for over a month now and I figured it's time to share my thoughts and experience with the bike so far. Most are good, some are not. Overall - I still think this is the best bike in it's price segment. For those looking for a thrilling mid-size electric dirt bike that goes 50 MPH (unmodified), this is it! If range is a concern and you like to go on long rides.. it may not be.

Love the mantis X video. Keep doing em !
Can you do a talaria x3 vs rawrr mantis x.
Fr cuz these 2 r my top choices
Great video, went out for a ride with the mantis today and ripped down some new trails.
I got the Mantis and I only ride in Eco 2 and push Sport when needed or go to 3. I can go 50 in ECO 2. A great way to conserve battery.
Excellent review! I placed an order for my Mantis X a few days ago. It should arrive any day now. Is there anyway you can show a video on how to change the gear oil and lube the chain? And what kind or brands to use. Thank you! Once again, thank you for your review on this bike.
30 miles is super far exactly correct. Most people do like 15 20 Max badass video Pat love your content
Just finished watching great vid!!!!
Remember light bee S is 48v and doesnt have the chassis rigidity like the light bee x that we all love which is 60v
@@MooseRidez Right.. which is a rip off compared to this bike!
@@PatOutdoors 100%!!
know of any brake lights that would be pretty much plug and play for this bike?
I’ve got a few at home I’m test fitting right now. None are plug and play, but fit pretty nicely on the tail. Just reviewing the wire harness to make it work with the levers
@@PatOutdoors hell yeah, are you planning on making a video/tutorial on it? I'll keep an eye out!
@@L_s_D_m_T once I successfully get it done!
@@PatOutdoorsI'll be looking out for that
Thank you for all the great info on this bike! Will be getting one soon. Do you know how many watts the charger pulls? Want to use my 800 watt inverter generator to charge the battery while camping. Thanks
Pat is there room for a larger battery down the road or is it limited space like the xxx. One of the rides I do 3 times a month is 30 plus miles with breaks often on my xxx I'm wanting to upgrade it to 72v with the new luna float seat or just get a pro ss but will see what the winter holds. Excellent vid looks like an amazing ride w great views
@@Nobodyatall00 so far, the largest battery available is 72V 35ah for the Mantis X. My Talaria XXX has a 74V 44AH battery that has over 60 mile range
@@PatOutdoors yeah I want to upgrade my xxx or get the pro ss the price would be the same for either option except a modded xxx would hand the ss it's ass on the street anyway. Truth be told the ventus 1 v2 would be perfect all the way around bit far out of my price range
@@PatOutdoorsyea but is it UL approved ? That is what Rawrr is pushing. Making sure it's safe.
A pedal kit just isn’t possible for this frame the day it is this bike can complete with the talaria x3
@@Psnacount I had a pedal kit on my surron, then I took it off because it felt like it barely moved the bike and not worth the added weight. I bought a pedal kit for my x3 and returned it for the same reason. Makes sense for those worried about cops, but not for everyone 🤷🏾♂️
congrats on 11.1K
@@catm0 😂 such a random number. Thank you! I meant to do a celebration and giveaway video at 10K, but missed it so I’m doing it at 12 now
@@PatOutdoors no problem man 😂
Awesome review..so does the motor get hot after a lot of climbing uphill and heavy up hill off-roading?
Is the charger included with the bike or has to be bought separate?
@@RalphMoon it’s included with the bike. I think all the e-motos in this class come with the charger
Nice vid I just got the xxx and every time I ride my butt hurts lol. Do you think seat covers actually add any cushioning.
@@AidenZ7334 I’m about to upgrade my XXX seat actually. Check out Luna cycles’s float seat for $50
@@PatOutdoors yeah I was looking at that but then there wouldn’t be any seat covers right?
@@PatOutdoorsisn’t that for a surron?
@@vrelity2772 they make it for Surrons and 3 different Talarias
Hey Pat
So I need a bike that gets me back about 30 mi at night once or twice a week.
I was thinking about getting the motor goat v3 but I read is to tall for me I'm 5'5.
There's this other bike I saw I forgot the name but it basically has this huge brakes in the back and the front.
But the guy that review it wasn't that happy with it.
Now I'm looking at this dirt bike what are your thoughts about it because the older bikes were regular e-bikes not dirty bikes?
you would be much better off with a regular ebike like that motor goat or something else if you’re looking for a road commuter and need 30+ miles of range. These electric dirt bikes are more geared for torque and for having fun off road rather than range, and road-worthiness.
When is the Next outboard video Coming?
lol pretty soon. I just confirmed there was gear oil in the lower unit. I also swapped out the plastic prop for an aluminum one. Also got a HUGE 100AH battery for all day testing
@@PatOutdoors 👍 cant wait
Id be great to see how it does at tomahawk mx
Hmm 🤔 LOL it ain’t a 2-stroke motocross bike, but I am curious to see how it would do..
Can we add a spare battery to this bike?
@@TylerDurden-bl4py I mean you could just buy a spare battery and swap it out when the first one dies since it’s easy to take out
No levelling just send it track will make itself
I'm actually gonna take my Yamaha TTR-230 and run loops over and over to wear it in faster since that has more weight to it
3rd
wind noise for dayss
@@ilogicg I brought a mic with me but the adapter broke 😕
I really want one but I need to get help from my grandpa paying for it
😂 you need to get a job dawg! This aint a necessity! Trying to drag your grandpa into it is some bs
Dude what if its a kid@98lincolnmarkviii
@DrCuh then he doesn't need a big ass e bike. Kids are spoiled as fuck nowadays. I mowed lawns and bought my own shit. My son will earn his way as I did and this kid should too. It builds character and appreciation
Me too dude im homeless rn but ive been worming since i was 12 and had myltiple jobs for years but jonestly just cuz we didnt and cant have soemthing doesnt mean others cant please look at yourself and heal ❤❤@98lincolnmarkviii
If you can’t afford something on your own then you don’t deserve it
To me it seems like you glossed over that rear suspension or maybe I should have said the lack of rear suspension. This is the reason the Electric cycle rider was saying that this bike would be better for on road use both because of the light frame and the lack of rear suspension. Glad you like it but now there there is an MX5 there will be great deals on the MX4 which would be more in the same price range as this. you are fortunate that you can have a few different bike but most of us will ahvde to buy one bike to do everything we need and I just don't think this is it.
You think the MX4 price is going to be dropped to $3,000?
ECR hasn't tested this bike, they only had the older Mantis. Not only does this bike have rear suspension clearly but it's at a much better angle than all the other e-motos. It's a little soft though so you won't be doing crazy jumps on it but neither will you on the other bikes without mods.
@@PatOutdoors No, I was thinking less but I guess I was exaggerating. I still would not buy a Rawrr no matter what. I really don't think it is a good bike. It is more at home on the street!
@LarryRichelli not true at all I'm 250lb and we rip our mantis x thru some pretty nasty stuff it soaks it right up no bottoming out.
second
First?!
I have never did over 20 miles yet in one riding session 30 + miles is crazy seat time 🪫 s/o to yall who can ride all day like that my average is probably 5-6 miles per ride unless I’m commuting it’s more like 10 miles.
