    Great Video, you give an excellent presentation. Just picked up my Bike today and they made some nice changes. Much better rack, leather screw in grips, a new fork that performs better and is blacked out. Also, the instructions for the controller indicate that P3 is used to switch from imitation torque sensor (p3=1) to Speed control pedal assist (p3=0). Using normal speed control PAS with the bike unlocked would give you a PAS 1 of 18mph. The Imitation torque sensor is really good on this bike and allows perfect control at any speed but you have the option.

    • @danimayb
      @danimayb Год назад +1

      In a nutshell: P2 = 0 - Your PAS levels are governed by speed. P2 = 1 - Your PAS levels are governed by watts. Although I'm not sure why they label P2 = 1 as "imitation torque sensor", Because all it's doing is limiting each pedal assist level to a certain number of watts lol, Like P2 = 0 limits each level to a certain speed... That's it.

    Thank you for this information. I am curious to know if any of your other viewers have reported the issue that I had with the wired freedom. The magnets in the motor had become loose at around 300 miles and were making a terrible raspy grinding noise when subjecting it to Power. Wired sent me a new motor core, and I replaced it myself. It wasn’t too difficult. Otherwise, I really like this bike. It’s almost too good, because it’s easy to cheat and not get the required exercise that I need

      I was told by the Owners (I picked my bike up yesterday)that they are fully aware of some issues with the first batch and have had discussions with the motor manufacturer and have been assured it will not happen again and are replacing or repairing any affected motors from the first batch. The new batch motors are branded Hentac, a brand from Hangtei, presumably a higher grade.

    The copy settings for controllers is probably for factory uses. They probably wholesale these controllers to Wired and other PEV makers too, so those companies will probably set their own values and then copy them to all of their other controllers without having to input in 1 by 1 for each vehicle, making it a lot faster and lower chances for the wrong input.

    CC, here is an update for your subscribers…. I was having an ISSUE with the GRAPHIC BATTERY STATE OF CHARGE not even closely representing the condition of my battery, and so sent an email to Wired. Steven, quickly and graciously responded with this fix… 1). Set P5 setting to 6 instead of 16. -- 2). With the bike on the kick stand lean it left so the back tire is off the ground. -- 3). Put in PAS 1. -- 4). Carefully making certain the rear tire is free and not making contact with ground, advance to full throttle for ten seconds. -- 5. Make certain back tire is stopped before again making ground contact. THIS FIXED MY ISSUE!!!

    The C15 setting is actually to fine tune the walk assist mode speed. You can enable walk assist by pressing and holding the down key on the key pad. The bike will then power up the motor to run at either 4, 5, or 6 kph depending on what the C15 setting is set to. C15 setting options are either 4, 5, or 6 depending on desired speed.

    Apparently the bikes that just shipped in August have Samsung batteries instead of LG. This means in programming P5 needs to be changed to 8 instead of 16 or your battery levels on the display won't be accurate.
    I was wondering what was going on. I got my freedom bike yesterday and noticed my battery showed half full after just a few miles of riding on a full charge. I thought I had a bad battery until I received an email from Wired explaining the issue and the fix.

  • @jimmyjames8736
    @jimmyjames8736 Год назад +6

    Citizen, I think Wired gave you bum info about P3. I don't think it will choose whether the throttle matches PAS or always has full throttle available. That's controlled by C4 as you correctly state later in the video.
    I think P3 will choose between PAS modes. Most bikes PAS mode is speed based, and that is the way it would work with P3 set at 0. With P3 set to 1 like you are using it, then it is in KT's "imitation torque control" power limiting mode instead. I prefer the power limiting mode. It makes powerful ebikes feel smoother. You kind of mention the power limiting when you talk about C14 since it is only functional when using power limiting mode.
    So if you switch P3 from 1 to 0 then I bet your throttle works the same but the PAS switches to speed limited instead of power limited.

I will definitely be using these settings... Because everything on my own I Is multitudes full potential.. I have a Honda Rockets with a 232 Big Bor kit in it and it will 92 HPM.. and Trust me that's pretty sketchy on small tires.. 😂😂 I have one last question... Do you think we will able to mod this wired freedom with a 72 V battery in the future for more speed..?

    • @jaymartinson3236
      @jaymartinson3236 11 месяцев назад +1

      It's probably possible to mod it in that way, but the cost to do so wouldn't make sense.
      If you wanted to spend that kind of money you might be better off putting a whole second battery, controller, and display for a front wheel motor--like CitizenCycle has on his bike that he built... or just sell it and buy a faster electric moped or a motorcycle.
      Honestly, though... This bike is plenty fast. 38-40mph is really pushing the limits of a bicycle. Any faster and you have all sorts of other things to worry about like the integrity of the tires, etc.

    Thanks for this tremendously helpful video! I hope it is okay to request some clarification on C5... I think you are saying selections 3 through 10 allow you to set the "instant on" from dead-start start-up power where 3 would be the lowest power and 10 gives full power. 0,1, and 2 are special in that they give you full power but it provides a ramp up to that point. The ramp itself I would assume is a slower at 0 and is fastest at 2 with selection 1 being somewhere in between. Do I have this correct? Many Thanks!!!

    The issue i have is when i set the speed to UK legal limit it still assists or the assist comes up on the display after 15.5/16mph it is a 250w legal motor with a 36v 15 ah battery its hard to judge if there is still assist being given to the motor past the assigned speed as this i fitted to my Velomobile which is aerodynamically fast anyway and i have still all the gearing ie 9 rear as it is a cassette motor hub which i built into the rim and triple front crank set 36,48,62 so i can get up to 40+mph and cruise on the flat between18 and 25 mph obviously i want to keep to UK rules. But as we all know most bikes can be then pedalled a lot faster after the assist cuts out at set limits but as I've said to people the bike is getting you up to 16 mph with no effort then you can increase your speed through your own leg power but you haven't had to do this from a standing start

    Hello Sir and Thank You. I watched dozens of your videos before buying my Fabulous 750 Trail Bike. It has the same display but I realize the factory settings may differ. Looking to contact you on an issue that I simply cannot find an answer to. As follows: My battery is a 48V 20ah. When I use a multimeter on the bench (battery off bike) I get readings from all 3 sets of contacts. The center contacts (battery has full charge) shows 48.1 V. When I put the battery on the bike, using this display you have described here, the voltage on the display shows 54V. Can you shed any light on this issue? I thought my battery on a multimeter off the bike should register 54V when fully charged. Thank You

    I’m interested in this bike but was looking for a torque sensor bike, I was told this bike can imitate a torque sensor through the control screen settings? I have a lectric bikes now. Which has Candace sensors also and they seem to give you a percentage of power constantly so even if you get over the speed for the pas your in, and you pedaling it still helps you. (I like this) I also have a Magicycle Deer that also has a Candace sensor but that one when you hit pas level ceiling the power cuts out totally so you feel like the brakes were applied. So it’s all or nothing. Putting that bike up for sale, and I’m looking at this one. Could you explain how the sensor works on this bike?

      pretty much the same except P5 should be set to 6 so the battery indicator will be accurate, and C8 should be set to 1 since the 2024 versions have a motor temperature sensor. other than that, the settings are the some.

    • @kev8839
      @kev8839 11 месяцев назад +1

      I’d be curious to see the results of adding a front hub motor and what wattage motor would work best too. I’d imagine setting the power ramp up to the rear hub motor at a more conservative setting would be a good idea though. Don’t want to lift the front wheel off the ground and having it spin up to a speed that loses traction when it touches down. That would be a recipe for disaster. Although the extra weight up from may help a little.

    But, does each level of pedal assist have a speed limit?
    In other words, if I'm pedaling along at 25 mph (I like to pedal when I ride so as to greatly extend my range, not just throttle around like a moped), and I need a little boost to stay at that comfortable speed, but only a little, can I utilize PAS 1 at that high of speed? Or, is it set up like some e-bikes (so I've been told) that limit each pedal assist level to a certain top speed (which in my opinion would be really dumb)?

    I watched this when you first posted it and I FINALLY got my Wired Freedom yesterday so I had to watch it again today. I was wondering my I couldn't get my speed past 33-34 MPH. I'm gonna go with a 2 for the most power and fastest "slow" ramp-up of power (if that makes sense). I can't remember what I set it to to get 33-34 MPH but it was less than 10. Tried 10 right off the bat and, yeah, almost got thrown off LOL. I'm used to it now but I have this strange habit of sometimes using the throttle with only my right hand holding the handlebars. That could catch me off guard.
    Hey, question for you, if you're still reading. My battery voltage was factory set for the one that represents 60v but the battery meter showed half on a full charge and then it actually started going UP as I rode it. Very strange. Any experience with this strange behavior? And thanks for the informative video! 😃

      @CitizenCycle925  Год назад

      Glad you got yours, hope you love it! for top speed make sure speed limit is set to the max, tires are inflated firm, battery fully charged, and then the rest will probably depends on rider weight.. I have not see any strange behavior on the battery indicator before.

      @@CitizenCycle925 I found out what it was. The speed limit was fine. I thought C5 was only intensity. I realized you said it has to do with the amount of power that can go to the motor. It's on 2 now like I said I was going to try and I have access to all the power but it ramps up, which is perfect for me. I had it up to 38 MPH. Yeah, that power meter thing concerns me. I'll have to ask Dan about that.

      "My battery voltage was factory set for the one that represents 60v but the battery meter showed half on a full charge" Like jfly2249 says, you now have to set P5 to 8 (instead of 16) to get a more accurate battery reading on the newer bikes since they started using Samsung instead of an LG battery pack.
