Great ride, and what a great way to show off the Wired Freedom. I feel like this bike doesn't get enough recognition for begin a really good bike. For a guy that lives in a beach town in Florida watching your video made me want to take a trip out west. Your video is one of the best most honest I've seen so far.
This video gave me so much anxiety and I'm at my computer desk! i dont think I would even be able to walk that path let alone bike it! Glad you made it out ok.
I just finally got my freedom. the new ones have much better rear suspension. they lengthened the swing arm to provide more clearance and travel. I couldn't be happier.
That trail was a lot more technical than I expected! Very beautiful though, and I'd love to ride it some day. I have one MBT I ride with steep drop offs, and one day my rear tire slipped over the edge. The bike got caught on the skid protector and bent it, but it kept me from falling! The Wired was an excellent choice, and yes, cadence sensing done RIGHT is a good thing 🔥🔥
i am from bavaria and i ride alpine trails mostly, hardtail and fully. i'm nowhere near an expert, just a hobby, but i would NEVER enter the mountains without spare parts. you need more than a patch and a pump sometimes, and it is more feasible to just change the tube if you have a flat, for that the tire has to come off, so you gotta know what you are doing.
exactly this, always carry a spare tube, so small and patch kit for last resort. Also carry Slime & battery pump which fit nicely in the bag, there's even a hand pump as backup, I refuse to walk! @@DennisGr
Hope this reaches you cause this video actually inspired me to buy an e-bike (Wired Freedom of course). This video made me realize that with an e-bike I could get out and see places I would have normally never gone to by walking or riding a regular bike. I have made poor life choices my health hasn't always been the best and recently I've made changes and wanted to live my life again....this video really gave me hope and I just wanted to say thank you sir.
I'm in Alberta Canada but this is one of the main reasons i ordered my first ebike, we have so much unpopulated beautiful country to see this coming spring summer and fall I'll be taking 4 day weekends to do some bikepacking camp trips. Abraham lake will be one of the first places i take my eahora hedonic cupid. Thanks for the video, watching helps scratch the itch while i wait
Love the video Matt. Glad you made it back safe. Don’t want anything to happen to you. Bring the necessary safety equipment next time. People may think if Matt can do it so can I. Wear a helmet, bring a patch kit and at least bear spray if not more. 🐾🐾
Agreed on all (especially the setting a good example part). Though I have noticed Matt's recently began stopping at _some_ stop signs and red lights ... _so that's a good start!_ 🤣
Awe the fresh air... Dude you should always carry some patches, air pump and some basic tools with every one of your rides I've seen so far. Seriously!!! That was an AWESOME ride.
Watching this in 2160p is so cool , im sold on the Wired Freedom , Great Video , Thanks Matt , much appreciation for your dedication on All ....All your Reviews !!
Well that's my favorite kind of rid/range, so a big thumbs up. I pictured ordering a wired freedom and testing it in the wild on the trails up in the pac nw. My confidence has shot up 100 percent now, so thanks!
I'm so jealous that you've got such a beautiful trail to ride. 🤗 I wouldn't be riding fast though (especially on that last bit by the lake). I'd want to enjoy every moment of those amazing views. 😃 Thanks for sharing with us. 😎👍
Thank you for all your videos but especially the Wired bike. I just ordered one and I can wait to take it out. It’s nice to see a big guy on a bike, it gives me better perspective. Take care brother.
Nice video/review. In recent video, you were asking about different review routes. Your normal route is great and consistent, but this is a great supplementary ride. Would love to see a 20x4 ebike on this route. Wired Freedom looked good, but you didn't quite need all of its power on this ride.
Do a show-n-tell of a 20" cargo e-bike riding out there on hard compact dirt trails. If you have a 1/2" dowel cut to your preference in hand comfort holding length, these work great for grabbing your chain and inserting it back onto a chain ring too. I did technical mountain bike riding (intermediate level) without the motor for a few years. :)
Beautiful ride, thanks for sharing Matt (wish Tahoe wasn't such a long drive for me). Dang, that thin part of the trail with the big drop-off would've made me nervous! *But dude, I'm curious why you still aren't carrying a repair kit???* Especially as often as you ride, how long some of those rides are ...and particularly after your experience with the flat up by the Hollywood sign. My first flat on my ebike was late at night and miles from home ...it was a _major_ hassle. I also go for long rides in the middle of nowhere (with no cell service). So for my first year with my ebike, I always carried a spare innertube, pump and basic tools. They saved my A$$ at least a half-dozen times! More recently, I just carry a can of Fix-a-Flat. I've had three flats since and -- believe it or not -- it's always got me back to my SUV or my house (where I could properly fix it without being by the side of a busy road or on a trail in the middle of nowhere). Ya might wanna think about bringing a repair kit (or at least a can of Fix-a-Flat) on your long rides. It's really nice to not have to worry about getting stuck because of a flat! _Just a friendly suggestion._
this was so fun to watch you go through this beautiful trail, I have been thinking about buying an electric bike and your channel is so cool, thanks for doing what you do!!
That was an amazing ride! The bike seemed to perform really well on a tough trail. I also have the Suntour seat post on my Freedom and love it. Most comfortable bike I have ever ridden, and the most fun.
i know there is a new version of this bike but i think you sold me with this video.. i don't need to do any really crazy trails but i am in the Rockies and i could see how i would need the power and suspension..
That was exhilarating just watching you.... I can't imagine how much fun it was doing in person. I really want to pick up a wired freedom just for fun. I have a Fucare Gemini loaded up for cargo with baskets that I use for work... The freedom just didn't have the practicality for me but I still want one😂
You do a great job with your reviews and put these E-bikes through some tough test . I am in the market for one and will never put them through this kind of abuse . If they manage to make you happy then I feel more comfortable buying one .
Yeah, dude! I second @Sparky-Tim, beautiful trail and scenery. Definitely motivates you to hit trail! Plus, you got some power in case Yogi Bear start chasing.
One of the first things I'd do getting a new bike is put FlatOut in the tires, especially Fat Tire bikes. I actually got a flat tire from a thorn tip smaller than the tip of a pin. Best $15 I've spent recently.
We ordered our Freedom bikes in early July. They said the bikes would ship by mid August....and they were right on target! My wife's bike came one week before mine but the minute you get a "bike shipped" email, expect your bike in about three days (depending on where you live). We love these bikes and will be taking them out for some mild mountain biking this weekend. I think they will do well on the dirt, gravel and river stone we'll be riding over.....along with plenty of climbs and downhills. Thank you for a perfectly timed video!
Howdy from Reno, just down the other side of the hill from you! The Tahoe Rim Trail has gotten super popular for people to hike and ride. One of these days, I'll graduate from a 49cc gas scooter to something like this and ride it around the Lake. Meanwhile, I'm just wishing I could start my own testing channel and use our lengthy, hilly and often speedy McCarran Loop for the proving grounds. It's like the perfect stress test. Love your content. I feel like I've partied with you before but that's just a Mandala effect.😂
Wish I pulled the trigger earlier this summer for this e-bike. I understand the demand for this e-bike since if you order one now it won’t get shipped until November.
So glad I seen the first review on this bike as soon as it was over I order one will be getting it this week I think can't wait. I also ordered the blue one. Note there will be a BO on the bike if you order one and there is a wait when I ordered mine it was out of stock so I was on a waiting list . Thanks Dude for the review Cheers!
My wife and I rode that last month on our Aventon Aventures. This bike is really blowing my skirt up!! May wanna be a little more stealth with your videos. Won't be long til these things are outlawed up there. SHhhhhhh! BTW... Nice helmet. :)
Man you've got balls riding that behemoth in that exposed area, especially without a helmet (Once I read: "If you have a $10 head, get a $10 helmet"; don't know what that means for someone with no helmet!).
I saw your other video on the wired freedom. You mention how heavy it is multiple times. Could you ride it around with any assist considering you were on too hilly or a route or something? Or is it the type of weight were you kind of need the throttle assist to have an enjoyable ride? I really want a bike where I can get some exercise, but the power on this beast is seeming irresistible
Matt, getting ready to purchase bike with a friend. Very special video, breathtaking! I hit near 400 miles before realizing I have been winging it this whiole time.punctured just yesterday, roofing nail. I went to wally world and spent 20 bucks..just for little pump and repair to carry. i has stems valves, patches, needed little tools , bead worker etc.. all in one little box. The fat tires are super easy to work with bare hands. Took me 5 minutes.
I love your reviews and i would like to buy an ebike but all the ones i like only ship in America , i wish they would ship to Australia as we have some great trails and places to ride. I do love the more powerful ones. thanks.

No shit!! I had to fast forward when he started picking up speed.
I just finally got my freedom. the new ones have much better rear suspension. they lengthened the swing arm to provide more clearance and travel. I couldn't be happier.
Thanks for that.
This is good to know, might order one soon.
Just ordered one and I have to wait 6 weeks! Can’t wait to see all the new suspension & power upgrades..

At least have flat out in your tires. That’s good stuff. I picked up a big nail once and was still able to drive home with the nail in the tire.

This is the Question I want answered as well.
30 psi on front for a 26x4 tire, basically max psi on front because front suspension can eat the impact and maximize range on street riding.
Rear psi maybe a little lower, 22-26 psi
The lower the psi the worse the range and increased risk of tire coming off bead or pinch flat but more cushy when there is no rear suspension.
For trail riding I’d do about the same really, maybe a little lower on front

31.8
60.3 volts at the end. 18 miles. I would estimate he would get about double that before the battery died. Not bat for the terrain.
