Thankfully they weren't issues with the motor or battery but, if you have issues with major components like that, I'd be afraid he would be even MORE inclined to avoid helping you. All he seems to care about is selling as many bikes as he can.
The website is showing Mid-January now. Considering I live in Ohio I'll wait till it says March or April before considering pulling the trigger. Otherwise it looks like an awesome bike, especially for the price.
Love the wired freedom. I just wish they had the same bike with more typical mountain bike tires like a 27.5 x 2.25. Also wish it had mounting points for a front mount basket or rack. I want that same frame motor battery etc just hate the handling of fat tires
@dixienormis3614 it is neither too heavy nor powerful. Many cargo bikes use 20 or 26/27.5 x 2.1-2.4 tires, and they can have 400+lb capacities. As to power plenty of DIY bikes out there with 80V battery packs and powerful controllers rocking 2k watt hub motors and they do great. I keep hoping for one to hit the market to avoid the DIY route and hoping wired expands thier kine so I do not have to.
The cargo bikes are built different though. Shorter 20” wheels typically. A taller heavy bike like the Freedom would suffer with traction. If it were 10-20 pounds lighter it would be ok I bet. I have a few e-bikes one has 29x3 wheels and that is ideal for a bike the same height and weight. I don’t really love fat tires they are too slow and not nimble but I think it’s ok given the weight and motor acceleration
2:17 does everybody in LA behave so irresponsibly because I promise you would not do that on a crowded Beach here in Florida around old people and children as if they were pylons on a slalom course at least not for very long. It's somebody Road at 20 miles an hour past my child with only a foot or two in between I would likely demonstrate to them how a Buccaneers John Lynch tackle is executed.
The fact that it gets 38mph at 2200w on 4" wide tyres means the motor is is super efficient. I'm curious if 3" tires would fit on the rims. It probably can sustain 2200w at high speed because of air cooling.
Fr I’m a short king and I was already skeptical about the height of the seat and now it’s got me tripping more about it. Hopefully the suspension on the seat post is enough for me to be comfortable 😱
Ya, I called down there and they did tell me that the minimun seat height was increased by 2". I do hope this works out for you though because it seems like a good bike non the less.@@TheGodNC
I reached out to them and asked if my height 5'7" could be a problem and they said I'd be fine. I really hope so because I have my eye on this e-bike and to return it would cost shipping fees plus a $500 restocking fee! Ouch! 😬
Ouch indeed! I am aware of that cost. Did you happen to ask them if there is any kind of modification one can do to offset the height change? Is there enough material for example to cut down that central post for the seat in order to lower the seat height by a couple of inches because it's hard to tell just by looking at their pictures on their website.@@ACJr7

Please disclose your financial arrangement with Wired. This seems like a fun bike and a good value but you seem to be trying to sell it too hard in multiple videos. Also you don't discuss the drawbacks like expensive shipping ...expensive return policy. ...weight ...size ....repairability ...storage ...portability etc
He says in the video, it's an affiliate link. Same with every video and pretty standard for the industry. You get the bike or scooter for free to review either as a to keep or a loaner. Then you make money if people click the link in your video and buy the item.
I disagree. Just finished watching this video and this bike really does seem like one of the best values so it is probably one of his favorite ones. I don't think it really matters about his financial arrangement, I mean for all these videos he puts out I hope it's a really solid arrangement! I mean seriously, 40 mph, super fun, removable battery, solid braking, price is fair relative to other bikes, durable, can't wait to see a riding of the 2024 model!
Definitely not bad though considering it lasted and actually got so far. But the boundaries are now set as far as Beach use. And considering the price range. And power range. And new metal fenders. I still want one bad.
Does the old wired freedom also have a Hengtia motor? If I remember correctly, those are the throw away motors sucker 73 uses, would not be surprised if Wired starts having motor issues.

If you like to go long distances on the bike path and be safe this is not the bike you want.. believe me you'll get tired of riding on the beach cuz that's all you'll be able to do
Wired Bike Company is just Criminal! This bike actually cost $2,556 when you checkout and not $1,999! This price is a plain lie! On top of the price $1,999 + Tax, there is another $250 for delivery and $75 insurance! There is nothing special about this bike other than potential higher speed for short range. Also, your warranty is void if you change the speed setting. If you wanted to send it back for some reason, it’s going to cost you £250+ other hefty fees. In my opinion it’s just not worth the price anymore. I can name many other well known bike brands that offers almost as much performance, better build quality, better range, better value and 2-3 years warranty! In Europe this could never happen. The seller is always responsible to deliver the package intact and safe! Courier companies would be fried for damaging and mistreatment of customers belongings! I think I’ll now get a Yoto Leopard Hunter for $500+ less. It offers so much more for so much less!
@@MrT-tn4qe The rack was bent so bad that the fender bolt was pushing into the tire so much that it was not rideable. Also, the deformation caused the whole right side of the fender to be jammed against the tire. The derailleur guard was jammed into the derailleur causing shifting problems but I was able to fix this. But, to make matters worse, Steve told me to remove the 2 back bolts and then pull hard on the rack with the upward motion to bend it back and this ended up bending the bolts (replaceable) but also stripping the front bolt holes in the frame. He wouldn't send me a new rack or compensate me at all so I can have a bike shop fashion something for me that fits. But no issues with the drive train.
Corvettes go over the speed limit and are still legal. The law should not be on the vehicle but if you get caught speeding on you. Restricting bike to slow speed or power is stupid. They should change the law you cant go over 20mph in class 2 places/trails... or 28 in class 3...or you get a ticket like driver would. I talked to Wired said I was getting the new model so maybe a 2023.5 but they said it is there 2024 model guess I will find out.@@rabbithomesteading3797
Make sure you weave around people on the beach within inches and fling sand in their faces just like this TailHappy Matt guy does so you can let everyone know how cool you are

Who else is watching this to fight the urge to buy the predator and save some money 😂
He said it's his favorite ebike ever in a video reviewing a completely different one.
@@JudeTheRUclipsPoopersubscribe - I know. Because of that, I think he should disclosure his financial arrangement
@@kamm596 -okay JayFly
Stay away from people trying to relax at the beach - Give them some space when riding!
Durability test. Bike shuts down in 5 minutes and half a mile in sand.
hahaha I know right
Looked like he overheated it, but then it ran fine after it cooled off, but that was pretty funny
Definitely not bad though considering it lasted and actually got so far. But the boundaries are now set as far as Beach use. And considering the price range. And power range. And new metal fenders. I still want one bad.
And appearently, the safety shut off works. Which is good.
Does the old wired freedom also have a Hengtia motor? If I remember correctly, those are the throw away motors sucker 73 uses, would not be surprised if Wired starts having motor issues.
I just bought the Wired, waiting on delivery. Can you send a link to any discussions about the Hengtai motor being a "throw away" motor or where people are having issues? I have not seen anyone saying that about this motor and want to know what to expect.
@@MrT-tn4qe just search for the old super 73 vids the R and XR were the ones with the issues, Ariel Rider also used the motors for a year maybe two before going to Bafang.
@@MrT-tn4qe I'm sure they fix the problems by now
I just don’t see anything about these motors being bad, I can see reports suggesting they aren’t as good as Bafang but nothing solid. I hate how obscure info is on these Chinese parts. So shady. Oh well I’m taking the gamble.
I have an xclass with that brand motor it’s a beast compared to bafang brand been very reliable got about 12k miles on it so far
Motor quit cuz dude riding it in the ocean 😅
You are a terrible example for ebike riders. I mean really riding between peeps laying down on the beach??
Bike is not really $2000. They are charging $250 shipping in addition to charging the buyer $75 for shipping insurance. Calling this a $2,000 bike is misleading.
Do they charge sales tax on the shipping or insurance too?
LMAO THERES TAX AND SHIPPING ON EVERYTHING YOU BUY WYM
ONLINE ANYWAYS
Most of the ebike companies are offering free shipping and a realistic return policy, this company seems sketchy AF
@@keithstevens8739 ive spoken with the owner over the phone, they answer right away have excellent customer service, and send you new parts if needed free of charge if something happens during shipping sees pretty legit to me. thats prob why they charge shipping
If I could afford it, i would provide insights into its' construction.

Curious how many people you kicked sand onto while on the beach… Not good behavior.
If you need a bike this powerful you'd be better off getting a gas powered one.... They won't let you ride on the bike paths and if you do you'll be pissing people off... If you like to go long distances on the bike path and be safe this is not the bike you want.. believe me you'll get tired of riding on the beach cuz that's all you'll be able to do
Orrr you can ride it on the road..
Or you could ride at a reasonable speed.
11.18.23😮
Most CA beaches prohibit motorcycles and your bike will be classified as such with the safety speed limiters modified or disengaged.

Why are you such a rude rider? Aghast at you riding so close to people on the beach. Please stay in California.
Mashallah ♥️♥️♥️
Ride it like you stole it! Haha
It's too bad Steve from Wired screwed me and got away with it. I don't want it to happen to other people.
Lol, still bitching about a bent rack? Give it up already.
What happened? Is your bike not running? Or was it like a faulty / broken part from shipping or something like that? Does the bike itself work?
@@ChristmasEve777 ahh ok good to know because I just ordered a Wired Freedom last week and want to know what to expect in terms of customer service
Why are people hating on this guy saying he's riding too close to people on the beaches???? Hasn't anyow heard of fish eye lens????
this company will not exist in a year
Why is that?

That bike is illegal to drive on public roads and the safty speed limiter has been illegally modified.
But that runs into problems if kids dont have a license. so maybe make it also age restricted. But what happens if your 14 year old riding a class 3 bike in a class 2 trail... IDK, I dont have the anwer to this but the fact you say its illegal it is! but that is a silly law comparing it to vehicles is what Im saying.
@@rabbithomesteading3797 so since a corvette an go over 65 they should not make laws for motorcycles, mopeds or electric motor driven bikes? How about bicycles? Ive seen BMWs go over the speed limit so I guess we dont need any bicycle laws...
It's not illegal on public roads in America where I live. If you keep under the posted speed limit you will not be breaking any laws. Where do you live?
@MrT-tn4qe where do YOU live...that's the important Q
@@johnrob3215 I live in the USA and ebikes are not illegal here, even the class 3 and 4 ones are legal. You will lose $1325 if you return within 30 days. Also, if you unlock the 20 mph, VOIDS WARRANTY. In addition, ALL returns must be NOT broken. You will lose the $250 + $75 shipping cost, and you will pay about $450 in s/h costs to return it, then they will deduct a $500 restocking fee.
