The Wired Freedom Ebike has a UNRIVALED 60V battery and 40A controller pumping over 2400W of peak output to its geared hub motor. Most other ebikes offer 48v or maybe 52v for comparison, 60V is an absolute game changer. 60V is what comes on the Sur Ron. And for just $2200, this electric bike is one of the fastest and most powerful ebikes I've experienced for the money. The best part is this one "looks like an ebike" instead of an electric motorcycle, so even though it exceeds class 3 electric bike limits in most areas, it doesn't look any different then your typical fat tire ebike.

Trigger pulled!
Hey love your reviews this is Mike in Chicago. I want to apologize because I ordered one of these bikes couple weeks ago waiting for it to come in August but I did not go through your link because I was with the owner Steve and I got a military discount on top of it but when I do go to pick this bike up, I will mention all the info about you so you get credit for this ! I have 7 electric bikes from the FLX blade which is pretty quick and a couple from Rambo , IZIP and so on ! I have family out in Torrance and I do bike up to Venice now and then when I’m out there The similarities of biking on the lakefront in Chicago and LA are almost the same. lotta fun so thank you and take care. MIKE
are they going to ship august first? or like mid august?
Just ordered the Wired Cruiser yesterday! So excited! Supposed to ship mid October 🤞
Sold my Ariel Rider X-Class 48V yesterday and that topped out at (33mph speedometer) and (31mph GPS) flat ground fully charged and I weigh 195lbs.
If this Cruiser gets me to (35mph GPS) I’ll be thrilled!
is the cruiser better, why did you chose it over the freedom bike@@johnb6174
I really like it when YOU do all the research for us bro. Its much appreciated - especially the real-world test rides
Make sure to either loctite that rear fender or remove it. The screw backed out on me during a ride and caused a major accident. Wired helped me out which was great but it was preventable.
i go over my bike every time i take it out loc tite or not I'm on the Facebook page with you glad your ok didn't they give you a bike if I'm not mistaken
I'm pulling off those plastic fenders soon as I pull it out of the box. It rarely rains in Sacramento so they aren't needed and if I do need them eventually I will upgrade to metal fenders that don't flop around.
@@beggart7The new batches have redesigned rear fenders and racks that securely hold the rear fender. If you keep the rear fender on the older version you need to let the air out of the back tire and make sure the screw is tightened preferably with loctite.
Mine was delivered this week. Just got it assembled Sunday afternoon and took it for a short ride before dark. It's not lacking for power at all. As a matter of fact, I'm going to detune it in the controller to make it a more mild mannered long distance cruiser. But a few button clicks will unleash it's full potential if you're so inclined! FYI- mine was delivered with a Samsung battery instead of an LG.
Mine is bottoming out somewhere and cause the tire to rub. It's not rubbing on the controller. Must be rubbing somewhere on fender. Hopefully, I'll figure it out. Is yours rubbing anywhere on big bumps.
You could just be hitting the limits of travel, try tightening the spring. You need to hold the top while twisting the bottom. Some people may have racks that are bent slightly causing the screw that holds the rear fender to contact the tire.
Where did you purchase?
did you buy the same Freedom model? their website says PREORDER for NOV delivery
@@kevinsiegel4798 I ended up ordering a totem bulldog and got it in a couple days
Been waiting on this review from you! Great work!!
I wanted one of these for awhile, but they are still on pre sale for a few more months… I picked up a troxus explorer when it was on crazy sale for 1200 and it’s so so much fun but only 31 mph lol. Be safe out there .
Just ordered through the link. Current bike is a Carbo folding belt drive. While it’s great to throw in the car for trips, you can’t hack the controller for more than 19mph 🙄
Looking forward to November delivery. Appreciate your in depth reviews.
I just got my first ebike and its a blast. I watched 5 of your videos and now i subscribed. Good channel and good quality 👍🏻
Thanks absolutely the best review. Can’t believe you drove in the deep sand. My old bike didn’t make it to Venice Ca and back to Manhattan Beach but I know now this will do it. Really great review thanks.
People are going to be happy with the upgrades Wired introduced in this latest shipment. New frame Geometry creating much more travel with no chance of rubbing the controller! An 11 cog in the rear and a better derailleur, a new fender that is firmly attached to the rack and doesn’t flap around. Wired has upgraded the bike with each batch they bring in and now it’s just about perfect. Anyone waiting for October or November orders are going to be freakin psyched!! They keep making the bike better.
when was this latest shipment done?
The current batch people are now receiving, this is a review of an example of the previous batch.
@@jfly2249 where did you find out about these changes - id love to read more
@@Joz1I just saw my Friends. Also has Samsung cells now and new rack that incorporates rear fender. The specs and pictures on their website are from their first batch.

FINALLY! A review of a bike brand I've heard of! The Wired Freedom is one of the e-bikes I am considering buying first. The other is the Philodo H8 dual drive bike. Eagerly awaiting your review of that bike, because all your tests are the same for every bike, and that provides us viewers with the best information to compare brands.
Same with me, which one did you get though?

I've emailed Steven the owner of wired bikes a couple times and he always responds, I always thought that was really cool of him
Great review ! You made it very easy for me to make a buying decision on this bike. Wired Freedom checks all the boxes for me, and what looks like B5 blue is absolutely stunning ! Only have 53 days until delivery .I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas..
53 days is a lot
Matt, great review. I went ahead and ordered one after watching. Looking to get a bike for my wife as well. I’ve watched a ton of your reviews, have you ridden the Juiced RipRacer? Would be a great size for her and has a decent price point. Thanks!
I have watched almost all your vids looking for that perfect E-Bike for myself. I think the search is over!
I used to ride the bike path from Redondo to Malibu 30 years ago every weekend (no e-bikes then). Sometimes twice. Never once saw it that crowded.
💯 would like to see a review of a another bike with a different design that has similar power and options as this one
Great review, can’t go back to a 48v bike after feeling the power of 60! The bike has a great battery, great controller, great brakes and a hybrid metal reinforced geared motor with 5x the expected lifespan. And it’s only 77lbs with full suspension. If you live in the Chicago area you can arrange to pick one up and save on shipping.
How is that ??? I live 100 ft from the 606 trail and always biking to the lake !
LOL never mind I see there in Wood Dale IL. but thats nice to know thanks and yes that is off of Irving Park Rd on the other side of the airport
Yeah I was surprised to see they are local to the 'burbs. I just ordered and will swing by to do pickup. It's about an hour from me living in Lake County.

I totally agree with you, once you experience the power of a 60v bike, it's hard to go back to anything less. The freebeat Morph 2-in-1 eBike I'm currently enjoying has a brushless 750W motor that delivers an impressive 80Nm torque, providing a similar powerful experience. The battery on this eBike is removable and has a 48V 15Ah capacity, giving you an impressive range of up to 60 miles on a single charge. The controller ensures smooth and responsive performance, while the brakes provide reliable stopping power. And the full suspension system makes the ride incredibly comfortable, even on rough terrains. It's a well-rounded eBike that truly stands out in terms of quality and performance.Comment 3: If you live in the Chicago area, you can arrange to pick one up and save on shipping.Reply: Hello there! If you're in the Chicago area, you're in luck because you can conveniently arrange to pick up the freebeat Morph eBike instead of dealing with shipping. It's a great opportunity to save some extra cash while getting your hands on this amazing eBike. Enjoy the riding experience and all the exceptional features it offers!
Why don't you get a normal bike and pedal yourself?
Just pulled the trigger. Was on fence between cruiser but the back shock convinced me to go with the freedom. Clicked link but no discount. I messaged them .

Thanks Matt for another fun and informative video, I always look forward to your next video. You helped me to make my finale decision on this bike! Wired's warehouse is local to me in IL, so I was able to test ride this "Muscle Bike" and meet the owner of Wired, who happens to be a great guy and very proud of his creation! So I ordered a blue Freedom Bike right on the spot!
Says on the website it’s a 1000w nominal rating on the motor, which makes sense with 60v and 40a you’d probably be looking at around 2kw or thereabouts max. Good to see 1000w motors in this form factor now, very discreet
i remember getting my first electric bike back in the early 2000.. i was the only person with a electric bike.. went on the board walk at the beach.. 100% reg bikes.. except mine.. now 99% are electric bikes.. even elementary school kids riding electric bikes... what a trip..
My dad was probably the first person to have one here in the UK in our large town of 300k people. Back in 2002 or so 🤣. He used some shitty 12v lead acid batteries and the range was about 15 miles barely reaching 15mph. We had to have someone build the wheel out of some sort of motor ripped out of an appliance. Back then there were no regulations around them so the police would pull it over and not know what the hell it was. Good old days.
@@JudeTheRUclipsPoopersubscribe Now look.. everyone and their Mother has a electric bike... what im afraid of is there are sooo many electric bikes and alot of brainless teens that will not obey the laws.. and the electric bikes will get banned in alot of places mainly the beach boardwalk.. and near parks etc... when i had my bike.. i used human power on low gear when i was in a heavy foot traffic area.. once i was clear and on a strait clear road.. i engaged the throttle.. Still thinking of getting one again.. there are sooo many cool bike now.. I would like to get a 2000 watt one.. and if i won the lottery.. i would get a Delfast 3.0i that bike is really nice... and really expensive.
@@greatfullded Yeah there are so many nowadays. Even with our horrendous laws of 250w and 15.5mph top speed people still buy and ride them. Not me though I built one running about 1500 watts.
@@JudeTheRUclipsPoopersubscribe ya that should get you to abt 28mph.. which is plenty fast.. and all using Lithium battery.. and getting alot of Miles before you need to charge it... when i had mine... it took Lead Acid batteries.. Bloody heavy... i used 4 12v lead acid battery... here the laws was 17-18mph was concidered bike.. well back then... any faster was concidered a motorized bike.. which needed a lic... but now days its up to the rider to obey the laws and keep it under i think now is 18-20mph.. but all the bike sold that i seen and ask the rider, they say it goes 25-28mph...
@@greatfullded I get about 33mph on a flat decent road, which there aren't too many of because the UK roads are just full of potholes and random bumps. I could get a 72v battery upgrade in the future and probably get over 40 quite easily. I'm running a 52v 17ah right now.
The touch up paint is great 👍
Dude I've been waiting for you to review this bike. I've seen lots of reviews on this but I wanted to see your review because your awsome at this ty so much. When I order mine I will go through this to help you out lol
Getting a fat bike myself, I reckon the extra power will make it safer than my current old faithful 250 watt bike, like easier to keep up with traffic, I think always wearing a helmet and high vid will be good practice when I get it, 1000 to 2000 watt should suffice, plenty of power for my big size, can’t wait should be cool.
I think I found my first e bike. It looks like you had a blast on that thing! Great review!
I'm 51 and I've had probably over 20 dirt bikes and 10 4wheelers I don't really remember back then but I'm so excited about this I can't stand it
Love the review, but what about warranty and after the sale service?
I just got an EKX X20. It is only a 48V system but is also very capable. It tops out around 35MPH and is similarly equipped. 48V Versions available for as low as $1200 if you get the lower capacity batteries. I wish I had got the 20Ah instead of 10Ah now that I have it though.
3rd party ebike battery extenders.
Great review
I have a freedom bike coming in August. I can not wait
just spoke with wired. they started shipping yesterday the 15th. cruisers this week, freedom's next week. just came by to spread the good news.
I've got well over 300miles on my WIRED FREEDOM EBIKE, it's fun to see people try this as the first EBIKE they've ever ridden.....and now I've got a few who have honestly looked into buying one.
I think they will be kinda disappointed with less power and comfort. All I can say is please do your research to find the best for your needs. I'm glad I did! Another GREAT VIDEO! Thanks again
You've put 300 miles on it. You're the perfect person to ask this then (if you don't mind). Okay, I just ordered one of these and Matt was wondering how long it can keep giving him 2000w for. I'm curious, if you're commuting and going at a constant speed, what can I expect? If I tried to go 35mph for 30 minutes would it cut out on me before that and overheat? 30mph? The "continuous" rating is actually not much more than the bike I already have (750w vs 1000w for this one).
@@ChristmasEve777 I've not had any problems with losing power, I have road 45miles using ps2 and when I used the throttle still had 1900watts
I've beat the bike harder off road and haven't had the motor get hot when I put my hand on it. Even riding on county roads with throttle only it hasn't got hot.
I've been checking because I thought it would get hotter. Hope this helps
@@ericberg7364 Thanks so much for the info!!
Hey there! I came across a new project that might interest you. Have you heard about the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 eBike? It's a revolutionary eBike that combines both indoor fitness and outdoor exploration. One of the most outstanding features is that it can be charged when you apply indoor mode! With its brushless 750W motor and impressive torque, you'll experience exhilarating speed and power. The puncture-resistant fat tires and front suspension ensure a smooth ride in any terrain. Plus, the Smart Saddle Detection+ feature provides valuable performance insights and keeps you motivated during your rides. It's definitely worth checking out! 😄🚲
It's illegal to ride on bike paths, which most people do for recreation.
TC 14:13 I have to put on larger chain rings on my 750w fat tire. Glad to see proper gearing stock.
Great review dude awesome bike👍
You guys are so lucky to be able to ride these powerful bikes, here in Australia the legal limit is 36v 250w with a cut off speed 25 kph = 15 mph. Of course most of us buy more powerful bikes and remove the limiter, if the cops wanted to be mean they could charge us but I've never had troubles in 3 years now.
We're in the same boat. At this time, unregulated and unknowledgeable enforcement is bliss.
Damn that is ridiculously slow
The Australian government is hurting the market.
Here in the USA e-bikes like this are technically illegal as well. It’s just no one will ever enforce this and even if they did enforce this it would be impossible to do so. The legal limit here in the USA is a 750watt motor that cuts off power at 28mph
Usain Bolt top speed is 27mph... this 🥷 speed while running is illegal in Australia 💀💀
Put two batteries on this with dual connector and you are good.
Any chance you could review the philodo h8 there aren’t many reviews on it and would love to see one from you hopefully even comparing this bike with it because I am debating which one to get

This bike is insane it might have to much power for me but if i lived in a place with huge hills this would be my bike.
Hills = mid drive motor not hub motor. You would burn up that cheap motor within a week.

Love your videos ...really great stuff, so thank you!
Quick question, if you don't mind...
Does the bike have speed limits for each PAS level (some bikes, with their "smart" cadence sensors and controllers now do this, and I think it's ludicrous).
In other words, can you utilize PAS 1 or 2 even at higher speeds if you so choose? I sure hope so!
You know, man, I think I actually overlooked this in my initial ride. I don’t think I even bother to check if the pedal assist worked beyond certain speeds, because I’m so used to them having cut off points in a certain miles per hour like you’re mentioning. My guess would be this is how the cadence sensor on this bike works, but I actually don’t know that for sure. I will ride the bike again and make another video with this one soon. I’ll make sure to include that.
@@TailHappyTV Thank you sir. My hope is that the bike allows the rider to utilize whatever level of pedal assist he or she desires, regardless of the speed the bike is traveling at.
I think that's the only set up that actually makes sense.
@@OpenmindedHusker1 I agree, the menus and settings on that bike is like really advanced so I have high hopes. Most importantly, the bike felt super natural when riding in its stock form, which I cannot say is true for some of the bikes I review.
The PAS just give you a flat wattage for each of the 5 levels so yes, you can use them at any speed. There are 3 levels of adjustment for the power assist to dial it in to where you want it. With c14=1, I get 120 watts on PAS 1, 300watts on PAS2, and about 600 watts on PAS3. Works much better than the mph based cadence sensors. Fully programmable and you can even have the mph based assist if you choose.
@@jfly2249 Thanks very much!! :)
Nice edit everytime you blow past a stop sign. 😉
Can one upgrade to a torque sensor? Does the controller need to be altered or replaced?
I love the way you rec your floor with tire marks just for our pleasure! lol
Wait til you see the wall 😜
Awesome review and video! As a motorcycle rider I cringe a little seeing you riding at 35 mph on the streets. Imagine the road rash of a get off or a collision at that speed. I don't want to mother-hen you, but maybe check into some protective gear at your local motorcycle shop.
The long girly hair will protect his melon. 🤣🤣
I'm confused as to how they can put that class of a sticker on it when clearly this bike is capable of blowing that out of the water?
@@rentvestingthe stickers are layered, with class 3 underneath, you are technically supposed to remove the class 2 sticker to reveal the class 3 once unlocked, obviously no one would intentionally give themselves away to an officer, if it's capable of over 20 mph many bike lanes and trails restrict what can be ridden on them leaving you subject to getting harassed by law enforcement, most law enforcement may know of the class system but likely won't have inside knowledge of the user interface or how to check to see if it's been unlocked or not, leaving many to rely on information provided by the sticker 😉

It's a shame none of these decently powerful e-bikes seem to ship to Canada. I'd like something for commuting to save me some gas when I don't need to bring the car for what I'm doing. Also, Hi from the other coast! :D
Check out Fabulous E-bikes out of Montreal! They have many awesome bikes! I purchased
their Trail
Step Extreme 26x4" step through and love it. They also have Trail Steps with skinny tires for commuting.
Why not just find someone over the border and then have it delivered they’re and go pick it up… maybe get temp post office box if that’s possible
@@top1cat01 I don't have a passport and I'd end up paying an extra 200 in gas. XD
@@jimbianca9560 might have to check them out sometime!
Yeah. I like this one. I think it would survive me. Thanks!
I am seriously have a case of envy LOL. It is perfect, and perfect color for PBS, I want one bad. As I approach 10k miles on my Philodo AWD, maybe I should ask for one for Christmas?😀
Nice bike, ground breaking in many ways. @$2K for preorder, it would be worth ordering one, if I didn't just buy a commuter bike. I'd love to see this bike in a commuter configuration with 27.5 wheels and all season road tires on it, in a step thru. Looks like the priority was the battery pack (very expensive) and the controller, and motor. The motor with this 7 speed setup can take you faster than you can keep up in gear ratios with your legs, unless they put a bigger cassette on it with more speeds. The controller will need to be external because of the heat it generates; I've seen other bikes like that too; big AMPs == big HEAT. The motor is off brand but obviously works very well. it's solid state, I would not expect to have problems with it. If anything; the battery will be very expensive to replace; and the controller may have overheating / reliability problems over time. I like the weight; it's only 10 pounds heavier than many commuter bikes in the same price range.
IMO, it would be so good if it used 1.9-2.5" tires instead of 4" wide tires.
At 2.2" wide, Contact Urban III's would make this bike ride so fast off of the line :P
@@neutronpcxt372 I think the 4" tires improve the suspension. the fork and rear shock seems to be the cheapest they found
good info effort here with jeffster folks, Question: I can hear the motor noise when rolled backward so... this is a geared motor that does regeneration - Correct ? Let's have some info regarding the gear-set (ratio of motor RPM reduction) if possible and the regen behavior on the road... and I will watch vid close to see what the tailster says... Regen helps extend brake life, and distance... I like having regen.
its too bad these dont ship until november because these reviews convinced me this is the perfect bike for me but i need something for my 16 mile super hilly daily commute sooner rather than later so ill probably go with the nomad since it seems to have everything i need for a relatively decent price
Right! Who wants to wait over two months 🤦🏻♂️
What's the nomad?
Where can I buy his bike? Can someone let me know. Please

7/29- SOLD OUT- GREAT REVIEW OF A SWEET BIKE
Love the box opening experience 😂
Did I win something or is that a scam?
Let’s hope the quality is there. It’s so easy to sell specs and features without durability.
600 trouble free miles so far! Great customer service if you have problems or questions. Controller is oversized, it can handle 80volts as is the motor, it can handle 3000 watts continuous and is rated at 5x the lifespan of nylon geared motors. The battery has the highest quality LG cells. Everything else on the bike can be fixed or replaced at any bike shop.
Could you please do a video on the best bikes to buy for each price range so many to choose from.
What air pressure did you have in your tires when you were on the beach? We have similar soft sand here in South Florida.
Is it possible to check out the E-CELLS FIVE STAR E-BIKE?
He already has
