I was just on a cruise and met a gentleman who “worked from home” and only spent 30 days of a year off the ship! Booked back to back to back cruises by winning them through the casino. I cannot imagine. I will say he did not get the same room every cruise, and would have to get on and off the ship each time.
That was my first thought. You’d have to switch rooms like every week or two, take all your things on and off the ship to re-check in, have all your documents (passport etc) re-verified, possibly even quarantine… what a pain.
@@DKF_oliyou actually don’t if you book in advance. If you book the exact same cruise and go back to back you can keep your same room too and not have to pack all your luggage. I'm somewhat attracted to minimalistic and nomatic life styles, but this sounds like a nightmare. There is just something about cruises that's so unappealing to me. I haven't even been on one, but I don't like all inclusive hotels, unethical tourism or very curated tourist areas. Cruises are all three on hard mode....
dude i have to start fully paying attention bc i looked away for a second and suddenly danny was in a suit (i thought it was real for a sec, it was fairly well edited for some reason)
1. Cruise culture is insane and living on cruise ships has been a thing for a long while. 2. Why do people still listen to Graham (guy from beginning) anymore? He's promoted multiple scams while claiming to "not give financial advice"
Honestly one of the main downsides of this would be that viruses spread really fast on cruise ships. *There's a non-insignificant risk of getting sick while you're on the boat, in a way that might be worse than if you were on shore*
I was thinking that, too. Even with vaccines for COVID and the flu, being on a cruise ship puts you in constant contact with people carrying all kinds of infectious diseases. And when people are feeling sick on a cruise, they’re unlikely to quarantine for a week or two in order to protect others. Outbreaks are always a possibility, and the elderly would be especially at risk.
The "problem" with it being comparitively cheap is that it's difficult to work. So it's only really feasible if you can make all your money online and that job (whatever it is) allows you to not have your own permanent space. It will be interesting to see if more digital entrepreneurs do this and if that then drives the price up.
To explain why cruises are cheaper than a lot of land based living options; 1. The same company controls everything on board and buys all the stuff in bulk. 2. The staff is payed terribly. 3. They do not offer the kind of medical care you would expect in a nursing home. Living on a cruise ship really only makes financial sense when compared to assisted living, (where old people get non medical assistance with their day to day lives) or to constantly traveling around as a digital nomad (someone who works online and roams the world since their job isn’t tied to a location.) Otherwise, you will probably run into problems.
About mailing things: you can often get things sent to where you will be when it arrives. You can just have it be a pick up order from one of Amazon’s pick up locations or more UPS and FedEx locations at the port you’re at. You can also do this while you’re traveling in general
@@JoongKittyCruise ships main purpose is to be on the ship for entertainment. They often visit different ports, but not necessarily. The cruise ship itself is the destination of the holiday. Ocean liners on the other hand are basically ferries, albeit often more luxurious (if you have the money). The Titanic’s main purpose was to move people across the Atlant Ocean. Ocean liners were basically the only way to travel between continents until air travel became much cheaper.
I’ve heard that it’s decently popular for senior citizens to live the rest of their lives on cruise ships instead of a group home type situation. Where a lot of homes can be very negligent and families often drop off their relative and forget all about them, leaving it all up to staff and other residents to be their closest thing to family.

Ok but the old lady and captain is adorable😭
Edit: nvm
i feel like these cruise ship staff are not properly equipped to handle the decline in ability and health that comes with the full-time housing of an aging population. what are the workers expected to do when residents stop being able to go to the bathroom by themselves?
As a nurse I KNOW at least some of those old ppl have medications so like how do they get their meds
delivery people swim furiously
The ships dock lol these folks have their meds sent to the next port that they'll arrive to
@@shannonceleste5557 you have to see your doctor every 6 months to a year to get them filled sometimes sooner depending on the medicine but maybe the ship has a doctor ?
@@shannonceleste5557 that's the not fun explanation
That’s what I was thinking! And like even if they get them when they dock, what happens if there is supply shortages of a certain medication when they dock and they have to leave before they can get their meds? That 88 year old is going to die and expect the “help” to deal with it!
1:58 her smile is actually really sweet. She looks so happy and it’s making me happy.
Agreed that was kind of mean of him to make fun of her smile
Yeah, that part definitely reminded me everyone is pretty much a bully on the internet.
Yeah, sometimes I think he just says things without thinking. Everybody has those moments. I don’t think he’s unkind. He just let the inside thought out and it was an on the spot judgment.
I don't think he meant any harm😭
@@lauren3173 Yeah, but he didn’t have to choose to leave it in the video after he recorded it. We all have unkind thoughts and may sometimes let them slip, but that’s different than saying something you post in a video for hundreds of thousands of people to see.
Danny ponders cruise living logistics for 13 minutes and 12 seconds
Danny's outfit really highlights how much of a dad he has become
0:59 life is easy he says. Pirates make life easy. Waves are easy. The smell of the bodies in the ship morgue is easy to deal with. Eating the same thing every day is easy.
That just sounds like living in a shady neighborhood, which some people have done for their entire life

i live on a cruise ship too. they just don’t know it yet
interpreted this as your house on land not knowing that it's a cruise ship
😂🎉
The cruises actually hate it when old people live on their ship because they end up having to provide extensive care most of the time. Falls are difficult to treat well at sea.
9:58 Honorary nod to the "MS Narrative" being build by "Storylines" by a CEO named "Pun-ton".
7:20 She knows her grandkids and she doesn't want to be NEAR those great-grands 💀
She be like: “I don’t want to deal with any of that skibidi toilet Ohio rizz stuff”
Literally ten seconds later she says it's the exact opposite of that.
Ah, but you couldn't let something as petty as "what she actually said" get in the way of such a *BANGER* of a comment, right? The world woulda been a worse place without this creative masterpiece of a comment, truly the work of the century.
You just get off and get back on (but you get to get back on far earlier than everyone else!) They already come to clean your room daily so it’s not like anything changes. My mom actually has been looking into doing this for quite some time and knows some friends who have lol, she already takes like 2 cruises a year.
i’m clocking in for my danny gonzalez shift

"She has her opinions" is a terrific approach to characterize a person.
Bro I just sat down to eat and refreshed my feed. Perfect timing
Also the fact that you're trapped on the boat most of the time. That ship's gonna feel claustrophobic after a while
I'm a trucker and this life is the exact opposite. You see all the ugly parts of cities. But the country views are unmatched.
You sound insufferable

1. Cruise culture is insane and living on cruise ships has been a thing for a long while.
2. Why do people still listen to Graham (guy from beginning) anymore? He's promoted multiple scams while claiming to "not give financial advice"
Yeah a lot of old folks do this because it's cheaper than most retirement homes.
By a ton I think it’s like 5-7,000 less per month
Yeah that's the insane part. Way cheaper and no 10 year waiting list. Probably far less of the annoying and restrictive rules too.
9:03 I just got a cruise ship ad during this
the first couple looked exactly how I expected them to
Honestly one of the main downsides of this would be that viruses spread really fast on cruise ships. *There's a non-insignificant risk of getting sick while you're on the boat, in a way that might be worse than if you were on shore*
This is basically how covid first got into Australia
I was thinking that, too. Even with vaccines for COVID and the flu, being on a cruise ship puts you in constant contact with people carrying all kinds of infectious diseases. And when people are feeling sick on a cruise, they’re unlikely to quarantine for a week or two in order to protect others. Outbreaks are always a possibility, and the elderly would be especially at risk.
Did you hear about all of those cruise ships that couldn’t dock because people kept getting Covid?
Even in a world without covid, this is still what I perceive to be the biggest most commonly occuring risk of cruises
Perfect place to retire! Gotta make sure to expose yourself when your immune system is at its weakest.

Love the new cruiseship channel ! Can't wait for more cruiseship news from Danny Gondola !
The reasons it’s so affordable on the boat is bc cruises often pay their workers poorly
The "problem" with it being comparitively cheap is that it's difficult to work. So it's only really feasible if you can make all your money online and that job (whatever it is) allows you to not have your own permanent space.
It will be interesting to see if more digital entrepreneurs do this and if that then drives the price up.
"i hope you go to live on a cruise ship" we all grumble in unison
THE CUBS OUTFIT IS THE CRUISE OUTFIT
Finally I've been scrolling in the comments tryin to find someone who would mention him wearing cubs lol. Are you also a cubs fan?
Can’t wait for part 3 where Danny moves his family to live full time on the titanic replica. Packing is a breeze since you only need one shirt!
Man. Just the idea of not having to grocery shop and meal plan sounds amazing to me.
To explain why cruises are cheaper than a lot of land based living options;
1. The same company controls everything on board and buys all the stuff in bulk.
2. The staff is payed terribly.
3. They do not offer the kind of medical care you would expect in a nursing home.
Living on a cruise ship really only makes financial sense when compared to assisted living, (where old people get non medical assistance with their day to day lives) or to constantly traveling around as a digital nomad (someone who works online and roams the world since their job isn’t tied to a location.)
Otherwise, you will probably run into problems.
Loving Danny Boatzalez era :)
About mailing things: you can often get things sent to where you will be when it arrives. You can just have it be a pick up order from one of Amazon’s pick up locations or more UPS and FedEx locations at the port you’re at. You can also do this while you’re traveling in general

The line between them can be a bit blurry, but the Titanic was most definitely an ocean liner
what's ocean liner? what's the difference
i think your pfp accurately describes your emotion while making this comment lol
The titanic two is????
@@JoongKittyCruise ships main purpose is to be on the ship for entertainment. They often visit different ports, but not necessarily. The cruise ship itself is the destination of the holiday. Ocean liners on the other hand are basically ferries, albeit often more luxurious (if you have the money). The Titanic’s main purpose was to move people across the Atlant Ocean. Ocean liners were basically the only way to travel between continents until air travel became much cheaper.
Waiting for someone to mention Suite Life on Deck.

I’ve heard that it’s decently popular for senior citizens to live the rest of their lives on cruise ships instead of a group home type situation. Where a lot of homes can be very negligent and families often drop off their relative and forget all about them, leaving it all up to staff and other residents to be their closest thing to family.
After years of watching your channel, I made an account and immediately subbed and turned notifications on. I am truly Greg now😌
