Used your code to save $ today ! Thanks man
I'm happy the bike can go 71 miles but I'm not sure my ass would hold up 😂
lol i have riden the tail of the dragon, i am sure i can ride this bike to work 2 miles, Hee Hee
oh the dragons tail was on a 2003 harley superglide sport.
Man, that thumbnail is hilarious. I can't wait to start pumping out some Wired content in a few short weeks!
waiting for mine in the mail as well, got the black but kind of wish I got dark green
lol so funny! You do look about 71.6 miles older. 🤣
I am expecting mine in 2 - 3 week. I am so pleased with your review.
Thank You.
This was what I needed to see today. I contacted Wired yesterday and they told me that I should get my Freedom by the end of this month. I ordered it on the 29th of March and the anticipation is killing me.
Woah jeez! I ordered mine literally about 2 weeks ago
Ordered mine 3 days ago. Bought two, me and the wife. Local pick up.
I bought mine in March, too. The wait is killing me! Ugh. We got the sickest bike, though!
Bought my cruiser a week ago end of March, super excited as well 😄
@@cellsheet wow! Sorry about the wait! It will
Be coming soon
It's nice to know that they keep improving the bike.
That video is awesome, From citizen cycle to senior cycle.
Ordered mine through your link mid May and delivery is middle to end of this month. Can't wait!!!
same here
👍 Thanks for the testing and demonstrations. The Freedom ticks all the boxes for me.
Ordered one a couple days ago through your link. 😆
I've been on the fence of months now. Thanks to your refreshing reviews and videos i'm jumping on wired
Another excellent video! I own the 2nd generation Freedom in black, it’s a great bike. I placed an order about a month ago for the white Freedom, I’m keeping my black bike as a companion bike for others to ride. (when I’m with them of course) The extra mounted battery is a real bonus. I paid $800 for a spare battery on my black bike. You sold me on Wired before and you did it again. Thanks again for spending my money!😂🙏🏽
This is hilarious- EXACTLY THE SAME FOR ME! 2nd gen black, new gen white i will pick up in chicago area (Wired local pickup option). And im gonna ride with friends and SO excited to. And have a backup mounted battery for solo long rides. I have a 40aH second battery which i used on the black 2nd gen ( battery balancer installed) - that battery cost $850 lol
It's not 2000 its 2700
@@curtseth7995It’s $2249 not $2700 😂
David Cleveland says what? Yes they charge tax where its required by law and no they do not choose the "Free Shipping" hook so many other companies do....of course in reality those companies just bundle it into the cost.
However unlike those companies, with Wired you can choose to simply pick up your bike and avoid any shipping/insurance charges and dangers. PS does Ecells offer any cash back to those who pick up their bike in person?.....Oh thats right its free....what was I thinking LOLs
Great watch .thank you 👍
Thanks again for another great video!
Great review! Thanks to your review I just placed my preorder for late July pickup also thanks for saving me $50!
Thanks for this. I've been considering the Wired Freedom.
great video! very good range and so fast!
Thank you so much... that really tells a story.
Sweet! Can’t wait for mine. Supposedly by the end of the month.
Great video!
Love the motor sound.❤
DUDE! You scared the hell out of me with that intro of you as an old man! Well done. Very cool! Who ever did that make up is an artist! Did I see you going 43 mph in PAS2? That's crazy! Anyway, great review as usual. Thanks for sharing your riding experiences with us. Be safe out there.
Looks like a nice bike. Going 71 miles is great range. The price is right too. Going 71 miles is no picnic on the backside. I did 70 miles the other day on my Philodo Jumbo, Here is the kicker. I did it without pedaling [was doing a throttle only test] I did it in pas5. One major difference, I looked older than you did when you were done, when I started. Maybe I should ride backwards? ; )
I would like to see no peddling at mid speed range.. maybe someone might not be able to pedal.
Love it my friend.
I was dying with the face swap! This really is the ideal setup for all around use, while still avoiding the motorcycle look. Going fast at the end pulled the battery below the low voltage cutoff, but you probably could have turned it off and on and just been gentle with the throttle on the way home. Full throttle voltage sag on a high powered bike is usually 6 to 8 volts with a single battery, and 4 volts with dual batteries. 60 volt battery cutoff is at 42v. With your voltage at 51.2, the throttle would have dropped it to 47.2, and the controller just said "Nope!". I programmed the low battery management system on mine to gradually taper the power down beginning at 25%, and it works out well for me. Thanks for the video!
Holy crap these filters are getting pretty good.
This range is more than enough for what I would want to do with it. So this is fantastic to get a trustworthy estimate of such a high range!
Thanks for the videos! I'm new to the E bike world. This video in particular made me pull the trigger! I bought two cruisers for the wife and I using your link!😀👍
Awesome! I hope you get them delivered quick!
The cruisers are the last model to get the controller adjusted for the pedal assist, not coming to the end of July
I'm really impressed with the power of that hill.Climb with a single motor you really can't beat it for the price especially
Absolutely a great review on this updated bike, it's back on the menu for me. I ret like the twin batteries on this now. I'll follow your link for this one👌
Mrs Citizen knows she's set for years ;)
Awesome!
Citizen, you don't look a day over the distance you traveled on that range test 😁
i was not wanting to spend this much money on a bicycle but i am now convinced that this Ebike is worth every red cent for the bang you will get from it, nice Video, thank you .
I like your mirrors.
Wow that's a long range test- I hope your kids still recognized you when you returned... gnarly
😃👍 Great Video!
Great video Bryan, do you know if any of the settings are going to change from your previous video on display settings?
Nice range test ya old fart! Pretty good distance considering the type of riding you were doing. Nice content!
2024 Freedom will do close to 80 miles using PAS 1 and 2 with 3 to get over a few hills. You gotta pedal to get that but not very hard. Just sayin’. I bet the 2024+ when riding in the same manner will get ~140 miles.
Had the problem of seat discomfort on long distance rides until I got a air seat cushion. About as comfortable as my Sleep Number air bed. When I get a Ebike I'll still be riding with a full helmet and Joe Rocket jacket, pants, gloves and boots. From experience I know how harsh low speed accidents on the road can be.
The problem I have noticed when I go on roads with reasonable speed limits like 35.Someone has to pass. You know matter how fast you are going
So jealous, I just bought mine in March before they announced the dual batteries
I have the 2024 Wired Freedom and I got 82 mi on pas 1. Some of it was downhill. I rode from Lafayette, Indiana to Indianapolis.
I think you should spin a wheel to decide what face change app you use next. I thought about the frown app, but that might send the wrong message to new people tuning in 🤣
What a sleeper bike. This modest head light helps down play how capable it is. Impressive package. Prices sure do look low ebikes right now, but maybe manufactured parts have plummeted in prince (in China)?
Unfortunately there's supposed to be a pretty hefty import tariff going into effect in a few days. 😔
Citizen , Do You happen to know the true stand over height on the step over version? Also if you were to buy one today would You still be partial to the step thru? The step over version seems to fit You very well.
Wow it's head to head with Ecells and Wired
Hi ! always great videos!!
It seems to me that it would be nice to do the same thing at 20 miles an hour.
As if going far would be the right thing!.
Great review, but one quick note.
I have a 24 Freedom converted to 72 volts with dual batts (actually 3). I have found. If you want to do a battery voltage comparison you should blip the throttle to drain/cycle the capacitors in the controller to get an actual battery voltage reading....Not sure if this is always the case but I would suspect it is.
Also in case you are wondering about the three battery setup......I wanted to keep the stock 60v so I built a 4P4S pack and ran it in series with the stock batt to achieve the 72 volts. The rear is a 20 AH 72 rack mounted deal.
I am glad that the Wired factory seems to have finally added the rocker brace behind the seat tube as well as the one in front. The rear of the seat tube is where all the side loading takes place, I had mentioned this to Steve in early 24 and shown him what I did (adding a piece of 2x2 aluminum box tubing to the rear section to eliminate the side to side shift.....Not sure if they also addressed the slop in the bolt to hole interface where the rockers are mounted on the frame bracket as this on the 24s was also a major source of side to side which with the addition of a rear pack become a much greater issue.
Footnote: Your aging scenario was hilarious I thought you had started smoking Meth when I first saw it LOL
What controller did you use to achieve 72 volts

😂🤣....man you are freakin crazy I was like is that his father😂....super stoked to get mine and like I said before man you are the reason why I am getting this bike👍🏻✌🏼
Hey Citizen, thanks for giving us the range test on this one! Aged like fine wine! How well does this one hold up with rain conditions? I ordered mine a week ago or so and planning on using this as a vehicle replacement myself so I wanna know the limits before I need Uber 😅 I'll also be planning to commute about 5 miles each weekend as well to for visiting, so about 30 minutes in the rain or so perhaps worst case. Fortunately the grocery store is close by though. Also what side mirrors did you end up getting? Do you know the inner diameter of the handlebars as well by any chance for compatibility?
Dude ur makeup artist is great wow what a transformation
Ok now do a fork swap add the citizen warp drive and set youtube on 🔥 Let's go Bryan!
Hey citizen cycle what mirrors are you using on this bike can you use the adventon mirrors on the new wired cruiser ?
Man o man, you need to hydrate a little more while you ride those long distances. You've dried up and turned gray!! Hope you look better tomorrow. 😉
Now being serious, this bike looks like it's a definite top tier buy for 2024. Thanks for the review.
Could you tell us this? Did they use a combiner for the batteries Where is the combiner and what type of connectors
the intro ❕😂❕
Can I ask you and the ebike people's. Would you choose a 48v 40ah 150 BMS battery or a 52v 20ah 50bms battery.
Great video! 😂
Glad you enjoyed!
Is the speedometer right
Wow the bikes don't shut down until 350? Mine gers to 250 and I feel like it's getting to hot
We could pass for brothers as long as you keep using the old man filter, Citizen. Another great range test. Nice mix of usage. But it would be good if you would also tell us the average speed recorded during the test.
Please answer? Were the speeds showing on stock controller or did you modify the shunt or anything. It looked like 45mph is this correct. Im getting one
Nothing has been modified, it's a stock bike, 40+mph is pretty easy
I put an extra 60v 20Ah in my pannier for rides to the beach.
is it fully assembled out of the box or do you need to assemble it?
Very cool Photoshop ..... I have only 1 question ...... Why does your homemade Citizen Ebike not ever show an GPS on a cell phone when you are riding?
Any idea where to get that spare battery and a battery balancer at? I have the previous version and another 2000 is pretty high entry cost for realistically the same bike, when those same upgrades would IMO be around $1000. I found a spare battery on aliexpress (same SN and supplier) for about 450, I cant imagine a controller being more than $200 and a balancer the same. but I have no idea where to even start looking for a controller or balancer, let alone a pancake battery like that, which is awesome.
Does it cut power if you change gears? Will the chain fall off easily?
It’s taking so long to get the warp drive too! What’s up?
Hey! I used your discount code and am waiting in my bike! Question though - my wife is short like yours, she is 4’11-5’. What bike do you recommend for her? I’m thinking something with fat tires and something with decent range. Any suggestions you have would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Magicycle Ocelot
Papa Citizen Shirt, lol. ;)
This or the new emx ultimate 60v by furious e-bikes? @CitizenCycle which one would you say is better for exercise/ a more traditional bike feel?
Both are able to be pedaled for exercise, i think it would come down to the size of the bike you want..
Would love a side by side shot to compare sizes! Love ur channel thanks for the great videos!
Still awaiting my delivery for this month
How does this compare to the juggernaut xd power wise does the 60v vs 52v make a difference or is the torque close?
I've never tried the Juggernaut XD, not sure of the feel or the specs
So much more for your money, in Clayton, NC.😯
😂This was great!
Excellent review, however I have a problem with the stats you post at the beginning. You state that the rider weight at the beginning of the test is 180lbs, however you didn't state what the rider weight is at the end of the test, you could have lost 20lbs by the time the batteries ran out.
Would love to see you do a short review about the bike racks on the wall. When I look at rack that appear to be similar they are rated for like 70 lbs or so. We know e-bikes are heavy, so curious as to what you have on the wall, and in the racks (non-ebikes?).
I'm not sure what the steady racks are rated for off the top of my head but I've had 100 lb bikes hanging on them for years and they've stayed strong
@@CitizenCycle925 Thanks for the reply. Ya, that's been my biggest concern about them as I now have 4 e-bikes, and an e-scooter and I do like to put the car in the garage at times.
The brand is "Steady Racks", will have to try to find them.
@NOWitsOKto yes steady racks, and they get bolted into your wall studs with quarter inch lag bolts so they're pretty sturdy
The tariff is not on top of the 2018 #301 tariff, it simply replaces the tariff that ran out on June 14th. The 2018-era 25% tariff, ends, this 25% tariff replaces it. DO NOT PANIC.
I have an important question for you , will the 45 amp controller on the new wired freedom wear out the motor(1500watt) a lot quicker than the original 40 amp controller ???
Nope, that is just a fantasy in Cleveland’s mind, like his yacht🤣😂🤣. Btw, the torque sensor on the jail cell bike is a total fail🥲 The guy takes a photo off of Alibaba of a yacht and claims he owns it but he just got out of jail and couldn’t pay his restitution and lives in the desert? How can you believe anything coming out of that guy, it all BS.
@@jfly2249
Thank You!! The Words of Stevie Goldman aka “The Fly”!!!
@@user-ht3hm9ng8sTry again Dave. You are such a loser, Steve is not on any social media and Wired does no marketing. Maybe Cleveland will take you on his 110 ft yacht if you let him sniff a line off your Ciccones.
@@jfly2249 I'll ask you, since you seem to be very knowledgeable about these bikes... do you know anything about the Wired controllers made by Patriot Systems? I can't find any info on the company or find any other bikes that use them. Also, I was considering the Wired cruiser but they are tucking the controller (and battery balancer) inside the bottom bracket. I'm concerned about a 45 amp controller overheating in that small confined space. I've read about Freedom controllers shutting down from overheating and they are mounted out in the open air. (at least they self-reset when they cool down). Even Cleveland's version of the cruiser (Step Star) is mounting their controller externally like the Wired Freedom. What do you think? Any reason to be concerned? Know anything about controllers made by Patriot Systems?
Clayton!
Not factory settings ?
This bike can't come fast enough! It's going to open up so may new places in my local area to explore and enjoy the outdoors! I used to think e-bikes were stupid until I realized what a cool thing it is, especially when the bike looks as bad ass as the Wired bikes do! Thank you for this video, old man!
I can't get the affiliate link to work or offer a discount..?
Clear your browser history and then click the link again
wired cruiser order form only mentions the rear battery as a $400 option .
i am 64 now and want the freedom to ride a bike to work until i retire, about 2 miles from my house but tired of driving the car, i do walk about 20,000 steps aday so the Ebike is not for my cardiovascular, LMAO it is for freedom to be car free on most work days, i will love this as i was a harley rider for many years, we have to learn to have fun again when we become semi disabled, i want to Ride .
I feel the same I recently sold my car I'm now 100% free no insurance no car payment just freedom and I just retired
Has anyone gotten theirs yet? for the June delivery? I am so excited to get mine in the mail!!!
😢 Why? Just WHY? Some changes from most previous 2024 Freedom version:
1. Rambo Bikes Trailer Hitch is now REMOVED from rear frame rack. Can't easily tow Granny/Invalid/*Wife-Riding-Shotgun* out of Harm's Way on deer cart trailer during a major critical incident;
2. Appears to be proprietary or NON-mainstream output connector to bike wiring harness for the rear battery;
3. Front fork requires our Favorite Ebike Reviewer Bryan to QUICKLY AGE as he and loving family figure out the revisions for future Citizen Performance Front Wheel Warp Drive kit on the now revised, souped up Wired Freedom.
WHY???!!!
Great video and range test Bryan. 👍
How do you come up with the 3100 watt power, is it because the motor is rated for that high? Where is it the theory behind it voltage x amps?
The controller is 45amps and peaks above 48 amps. A 60v battery has 67 volts at full charge so 67x48=3216 watts. The new bikes peak 1000 watts higher and also have a higher continuous amperage resulting in significantly better acceleration and top end speed. Just wait until the production reviews are in, absolutely destroys the competition!
I want to do a real range test on this bike when it comes, and I want to record it, for the average guy like me 5-9, 220 lb and see what the range is
@@jfly2249
Don’t Trust The Fly Comments. He is Stevie Goldman and hides behind The Fly Handle. Puts out a lot of Lies and Disinformation!!
1830 watt hours (I'm assuming they are both 15amp 60v) really doesn't last that long when you are going fast and uphill. Happytailstv went about 50 miles on a 3kwh battery with a lot of hill climbing.
Do all of these new Wired bikes have dual batteries now?
Yes
Where are you from man? Those country roads remind me of Indiana.
71 miles ? I get 15 off the last model year with settings at max . But if you’re going 39 uphill , then you must have them turned up
Which wired freedom is this
lhow did you get your bike already ?
It’s a prototype bike
I thought heck his Dad looks just like him.
Haha gotcha!
Has anyone ever been caught in the rain on a Wired Freedom? I’m just curious how it would hold up if I got caught in rain. Is it water resistant?
This thing needs 60ah battery like Aniioki and Eahora bikes then were talking. I need 60 miles of range 35-40 ain't gonna work. I'm sure it's fun for short trips under 15 miles out. I just can't justify spending 2-3k on a bike if it isn't range capable to replace my car for most trips.
See what I wanna know is if this would be a good bike to commute to and from my 18 mile workplace at a constant speed of 35 mph e.e, still would love to have it just to ride around the neighborhood tho
I believe it could do that commute, but also depends on how much you weigh and how hilly it is.
@@CitizenCycle925 I'm like 170 maybe 180 now and I assume if I put on maps it'll direct me a place withoit hills hopefully
1/2 hr for an 18 mile commute is pretty good timing- looks like this eBike is for you
@@MrAdamNTProtester see some vids say it gets 30 miles of range while others say it can get over 50
