Seems like a good price... I bought a cheap bike but after upgrading everything on it I probably have $2,000 in it... It was a fun journey though.....best hobby ever😊
Ride Hard with Wired. Top-notch review of this model. You do it right with reviews, after this review who wouldn't buy this model. I can see for sure you will spend more time riding and less time upgrading with the wired freedom. Your channel is my go-to channel for ebike reviews.
This is one of the rare bikes I would not bother to upgrade because it does everything I want. Some may want a torque sensor, but that would add to the cost, and some people prefer a cadence sensor. I can't believe they are offering it at that price. The rack is a little large, and the only benefit I can think of is a huge custom basket. You can't use it for a passenger because it will bend below where the main supports join, but it's more than strong enough for normal use.
@@louisbensinger4239It's stored for winter now (Maine :( ), but I believe I was around 600 miles and the one issue I've had, which I think someone already mentioned somewhere was the chain bouncing off when the bike is on rough terrain or when you hit a few large bumps. I plan on addressing that before I bring it out of storage this Spring, but other than that, NOT a single issue. The only things I noticed was having to tighten up the handle bars and front light (more than when I originally assembled it) as it needed far more torquing down than I realized, but I think that will depend on how rough you are on the roads and trails. I've ridden it in complete down pours (not by choice) and no issue. I've never had to change or adjust tire pressure yet. Battery is holding up just as well from day 1 and I monitor travel and PA levels very careful. All of my rides are hard, fast, rides and are anywhere from 15-30 miles at time.
Got one on order for Nov delivery and was super happy to see this video. Super happy with all the changes they have made with the possible exception of the rear rack.....I will wait to see on that one. As to taking advantage of the new suspension..... The previous rear suspension was not the best, and this revision looks fantastic. For those looking to take advantage of it, keep in mind the standard formula for primarily street ridden bikes is to have your suspension preload set to about 30% of the travel when you are seated in your normal riding position......so if you lift the rear of the bike off the ground and place a zip tie on the shock shaft against the shock body and then slowly sit on the seat holding on to a wall/tree etc. the zip tie will slide on the shock shaft and allow you to measure the "sag" which if you have 3 inchs of total suspension travel the sag should be about 1 inch. Then adjust the compression and rebound (extension) to achieve the stiffness desired to prevent suspension bottoming and best allow the tire to track with the road surface under various surface irregularities. Many thanks to Wired for the inclusion of the upgrades on all the bikes that will be shipped......looking forward to delivery so that I can post a review with detailed setup instructions for those new to this subject.
The shock has a setting ring so you don’t need a zip tie! The new suspension design is amazing and they put in a really good adjustable air shock and the RST guide fork is hydraulic with a progressive lockout. Nothing to upgrade save 203 rotors on the front?
Im looking for my first e-bike which has been a long process. I thought I wanted a moped style looking bike but I love how this almost looks like a regular bike and I really dont want something that ghost pedals which most moped styles seem to do. Are you happy with the bike?
great vid so i have a step thru for the wife she's 5,4 120 lb and she tosses this big bike around like nothing and i have the freedom and we love them Steve and Dan are great have called me at mid nit to walk me thru adjusting my detailer customer service is great i have sold a few of these to my friends and the new model is going to be great looks like ill have three also i live near Pittsburgh go Steelers and we have big hills everywhere and these bikes crush them ill never buy a 48 volt bike again i don't care if it has three batteries on it would ok in flat Florida or Ohio but if your terrain is hilly wired has you covered with out ripping you off 2k unreal thanks citizen and wired fore a great product
My Beautiful Blue 2024 Wired Freedom bike finely arrived 2 weeks ago. Sadly because of a supply issue with Kenda, the November bikes were delivered with the Chao Yang tires. The term LARGE AND IN CHARGE suits this bike very well ! This thing is a hoot to ride ! Every where i go the Freedom turns heads, and people always ask me about it ! You don't completely realize how big this bike is until you see it in person. I have indeed peddled the Freedom to Well Over 40 MPH ! (with a very slight tail wind ) I'm Very pleased with my purchasing decision. WELL WORHT THE WAIT !
Finder should be longer @ the back to cover the control box and front to protect the frame..ok if you live in California..but in Vancouver always raining..
Aww man.....we just got our 2023 models a month ago. Even the 2023 model suspension is pretty dang good for the trail and single track that I ride. I would've loved the 2024 suspension but I'm still very satisfied with what I have. The 2023 forks seem to have a bit of "fore and aft" play in them, but they still worked well for me...and fyi, I'm at 230lbs. Thank you for another awesome review!
I was worried about the suspension and gearbox gap on my November delivery Now I’m super excited about the new upgraded bike I’m getting. Thx CC925 & Wired 👍
This would be the only ebike I would consider replacing my Aventon Aventure 2 with. Truthfully, in traffic I would never go 40 mph .... but on the empty country roads I ride on, it would be nice to experience it from time to time. I'm really happy the fenders move to all-metal, not so happy they are shorter. Again, my country roads are surfaced with chip-and-seal, so there is a lot of small pebble debris that can get kicked up on the tires. All of that, from both front and rear tires, can get shot into the rear suspension and the controller area. Wired, please make fenders a bit longer. The length of rack I like. I've seen some cases on other bikes where storage on top of rear rack gets too close to the seat. On this rack, that storage can be moved rearward. If you have something like a milk crate back there, you can't swing a leg over the top of that anyway, so rack length isn't a problem.
One minor complaint is that they charge $250 for shipping plus another $75 for shipping insurance. At $250 for shipping, seems like this should already include insurance. They do offer pickups in Illinois though so if you live in the area, you can save yourself $325.
Most other e-bikes offer free shipping, everyone keeps saying this e-bike is $2000, but it’s not, wired website should have list it as $2324 price tag, or $1999 + $325 shipping instead of unknown shipping making people think it’s under $2000 and free shipping.
Shipping insurance? Cannot stand when a company pulls that!! Only 1 other i know of that pulls that. All! Other companies . No matter the item, covers the item right up to your doorstep. The way it should be. Hopefully they at least package it very well.
My current e bike was 1,300$ free shipping , 750w motor will do 28 throttle only and 31 mph with assistance . Also uses all name brands like Shimano , Tektra, Schwalbe, Samsung, etc.
Wow, I’m impressed with all the upgrades and the price is staying the same. I ordered my Freedom earlier in the month, with delivery slated for early November, so I will be receiving the 2024 model. Woohoo…
I ordered mine in august, but he stated earlier in the video that they're already sold out of all the 2023 models so well def get the 24 model! So stoked plus it shows when I log into my acct, a pic of this 24 model is on my order #. Can't wait for beginning of November.
thanks alot. just got mine 3 weeks ago and now i want to trade it in. lol. the 23 model does have a longer rear triangle with more clearance but not that much. holy heck. I have a 19 inch bag that fits the 20 inch rack perfectly with room for the trailer hitch that mounts on the back. the late 23 model i believe has the new windings as well. looks like i will be upgrading the front fork next year, hopefully they will have the new shock and fork on the website. I bought a cafe lock from rad power that fits 4 inch tires and it will mount to that new frame easier. I had to mount mine to the front fork. It works but is not ideal. congrats to the lucky people that get this new design.
you want to buy it? it's got a little over a hundred miles on it so the battery is just now equalized. I really love it. got studded snow tires for it too. thought about it. not for sale. maybe i will get another next summer. lol. @@keithstevens8739
Have one on order due in November. Even more excited, and very pleased with almost all the upgrades, especially the suspension. One thing that stinks for me is the batteries are not compatible between the old and new. Since my son has a Cruiser, I was expecting to be able to take a spare battery on long rides when it was not going. Hopefully they will offer the connectors for sale to be able to retrofit the old one with new connectors, or at least offer an occasional sale on the batteries for $500 instead of the eye-popping $800. The higher gearing on the front sprocket is especially amazing since I thought it was already high, being able to easily go over 35 on PAS. With my two Ride1Up ebikes, you have to pedal comically fast to approach 28mph. For me, the longer the rear rack the better. I have a large folding basket that I occasionally add that fits perfect on the 22" rack the Cruiser has. When the basket is not mounted, I can swing my short legs over it since it is the height and not the length I am swinging over. I do have a maximum setback seatpost to be able to have the seat lower while still getting decent extension to pedal. The first thing I will do with the new Freedom is remove the fenders, like we did with the Cruiser. Don't need the rear when you have a rack (and put a bag or just a thin plastic sheet on it), and the front fenders on the new model look like they won't do anything anyway.
Having check out lot's of bikes the price is right in the middle. Longer rack is perfect for mounting a milk crate to. Being a 70 yrs old is a great way to stay fit. From my house to town is 10 miles and i can put groceries in the back rack & drive 10 miles back home.
1st of all, Gotta thank Wired to choose CitizenCycle for this much anticipated release of the 2024 Wired Freedom👏 I can't believe this bike with all the performance & upgrades is at that price point! Hey Wired,Since you are very good listening to the Wired community, I got 5 Ebike's so How can I get one this one without my wife getting me in another Guillotine Choke hold forcing me to Tap Out and comply to work assignments at home? 🔋🚲🥊🥋 🤕😵💫
the fact that they can keep this at 2k shows you how all these other company's are taking advantage of everyone no big advertising just word of mouth and youtubers like citizen helps keep the price down good job both wired and citizen another great vid as usual
See? Another person think this e-bike is only $2000, they charge over $300+ for shipping.😢this $2000 price tag everyone is talking about needs to be stop.
That ginormous chainring is the first thing i noticed. Im usually ghost pedaling in 4 and 5 PAS on the couple ebikes ive tried. Really comfy looking cruiser with those upright bars. 👍🚲
Great video. Got mine coming in November. I totally agree about the handlebar room issue. I will add one of those extra additional horizontal bars for my many accessories. But I disagree about the rack. The more room the better for me (plus I got the Cruiser, so throwing my leg up and around is not an issue). A second battery AND a rear bag might fit, which would be great, as entertaining the idea of a second battery to get some awesome range.
The only thing I don't like about this bike, is the cruiser style seating design with a lower seat and those silly raised handle bars that leave you with less control of your front tire for navigating obstacles. Some people might like that design but I have been riding bikes for a long time and I don't think I will like it. I really like a lot of things about this bike and hill climbing is high on my list of necessities, but I would want to try before I buy. So many bikes are online sales these days, and a bike is sorta like a pair of shoes, you really have to try them on to see if they fit you and your style of riding.
I was hesitant about the look of the new suspension based on his previous video. But now after seeing it fully, I’m sold. The usb charging port really is nice. Still no water bottle mounts 😢. Lol.
That's going to be beautiful for the streets of Detroit where we have some unbelievably bad streets (I know you're thinking) pot holes big enough to swallow my Buick. Great show can't wait to get mine
Very real world review of this updated beast! What’s to bitch about? Nothing. As far as preference, I agree shorter rack would be easier to mount the bike. Great job Bryan!
I don't know why you always ignore shipping cost when you redo bikes some have no shipping some have up to $300 shipping. Shipping cost is important in your reviews. Last I looked it was $2,000 plus $200 shipping
Just asked them, $250 + 75 insurance😂everyone needs to stop advertising this e-bike for just $1999, unless you just happened to be lived in WOOD DALE, ILLINOIS. I hate that they never mentioned about shipping on their website making people think it’s just $1999.
This bike is awesome! It's getting better and better. I agree that the rack should or could be shorter. I would prefer the longer fenders because of splashes, especially at those speeds. I'm not ready for a new bike yet, but would definitely get this one. Do we know how dependable this brand of motor is since it's not a Bafang? Not that Bafang is that great since I had to get a new motor at 5000 miles.
be fang motor isn't that great i have read were people have had them not run straight out of the box this is a better built motor if you do your research also this motor was built just for wired they wanted it built to there specs now the first verson had some problems with the magnets a few not all of them not having enough glue but that has been fixed i personally would pass on the be fang im sure there's some that have gotten some millage out of them but they don't come close to this power
Ridiculous. Still 2 grand! This is top of the food chain, kids. The BEST eBike out there, in my opinion. (and actually still looks like a bicycle) The changes are awesome and the design is cleaner and sexier. The pre-order green has sold out and the other counts are dropping pretty quick. Better get your order in.
@@CitizenCycle925 Awesome very detailed video/ review! You covered everything with the Freedom! Maybe I missed it but I’m assuming the 2024 Cruiser has the same upgrades? I ordered my Wired Cruiser August 11th and expected delivery is 10/23 I’m hoping it has the new upgraded Samsung battery and upgraded motor?🤞
As always , CitizenCycle videos are done to perfection. I already have my ordered in for nov. Also I ordered the game cart with this bike. So I really don't see a problem with this new resigned rear rack. Amazon has a brotech Bike Handlebar Extender Double Handlebar Extension Carbon Fiber Mount Holder with Aluminum Alloy Bracket Space Saver Brand: Kbrotech, also Graspur Single ATV Gun & Bow Rack - Model ATV, and mud flaps for the fenders. I can't wait to get this new ebike.
Think I like the longer rack, I was looking for comfort first for a bike, I have really bad wrists so super excited about the shock, looks like it’s going to be perfect
Great job Wired EBikes❤What a significant improvements🔥! Thanks again, CitizenCycle, for another fantastic review of our beloved Wired Freedom🔥! I am still waiting for the November Shipment 💪🔥💪
I think the new rack is good with longer length. Rear suspension design looks like a major improvement. The RST Guide fork is built strong and should hold up well at high speeds. I prefer metal fenders, but the new front fender looks too short to be of much use keeping your legs dry. The handlebars being too narrow is kind of silly since they are available in all sizes. When they saw where they were putting the shifter, they should have used longer handlebars. Overall, the bike looks much improved, though.
The Wired guys MUST be doing some magic with vendor deals and sourcing - to keep the bikes at 2 grand. My prediction is that 2024 will be the Year of Wired bikes. I predict they capture some serious market share. And then prices will creep up.
I have an ebike way less powerful than this and I haven’t shifted out of 7th gear in months. They could put the shifter on the rear rack is all I’m saying. 😆
Yeah, I'd prefer the front fender to be longer to help prevent the battery from being splashed if you go through a puddle. I will admit the shorter fender without the wire support looks much better, though. And I think metal fenders are the way to go as long as they are quality. A little concerning that the rear one doesn't seem easily replaceable, though. It looks like it is welded to the rack.
Woooooow, a bike with a gear ratio where you NEVER have to ghost pedal? That, for me, is a game changer. I don't use an ebike to just throttle around as if I were on a motorcycle. I use an ebike because I have knee issues and need some way to get a decent amount of exercise and stretch on my knees despite a very arthritic kneecap and a joint that has been scoped twice. So to never have to ghost pedal is a major benefit to me.
Well, turns out my excitement about this bike (see my other comment) was short-lived. Turns out Wired does the same thing most ebike manufacturerers do: They advertise a rider height for their bike which doesn't at all match its geometry. I'm 5'8" and have a 30" inseam, and by the recommendations of companies like REI, I should choose a mountain bike with a standover height that is 2-4" below my inseam so I don't rack myself when coming off the seat and putting my feet flat on the ground at a stop. Unfortunately, I didn't know this when I was first shopping for an ebike, so I ignorantly trusted manufacturers' specs on how short a rider can fit their bikes. I bought an Aostirmotor S18 with a 34" standover height before realizing this was a mistake. Then I bought a Haoqi Cheetah which was supposed to have a 29" standover (nope!), and then a ReAspire Warrior, whose standover is supposed to be 26.8" (I don't think so, but it's good enough). Now I'm researching a Freesky Wild Cat because Freesky is the only company I've found among the dozens I've researched that might actually advertise a standover height that's actually real, and maybe even conservative. (I got them to actually measure from the ground to the top of the rear suspension, which is actually higher than the crossbar, and it turns out their advertised standover might actually be higher than the real standover.) Can I ride all these bikes, and could I ride the Wired Freedom? Sure. But when I come to a stop and have to put my feet down, the Freedom, the Aostirmotor, and the Haoqui are going to try their damndest to crush my dongly bits. No thanks. I'm 5'8", and these manufacturers are trying to tell folks that are 5'4" or 5'6" that they'll fit these bikes. Bull. Standover height matters. It matters when you are road riding and need to stop at an intersection. Or when you're taking a turn and unexpectedly hit deep gravel, sand, mud or clay dust and need to stop to avoid wiping out. Or when you take a blind turn and see a serious barrier (fallen log, car, pedestrian walking out behind a van or tall shrub) and need to stop suddenly. Nobody -- male or female -- likes to rack themselves on a too-high crossbar when they have to stop and put their feet on the ground. I wish bike companies would quit lying about the size of rider their bikes are designed for. It's a scummy practice and seems to be widespread in the industry. Even the Wired Freedom website is totally sus on this issue. Right now their Geometry tab for the Freedom shows a measurement that is normally used for standover height, but they measure it on the horizontal part of the crossbar before it starts to rise at all. Consumers often don't understand bike geometry, but if you understand it and see this graphic, you'll instantly see that measurement is useless for calculating standover on this bike because the horizontal part of the crossbar is so short that it is not the part of the bar the front of your crotch will impact when you come to a stop, come off the seat, and stand over your bike. The part of the bar your crotch will contact is at LEAST 4" higher. So the standover is NOT 29.7", but instead it's probably closer to the 35.4" minimum seat height, and may even be higher than that. I don't know anyone who can afford making $2,000 mistakes over and over because some jackwagon in a bike manufacturer's marketing department decided to lie about standover and rider height. When you shop for an ebike, avoid the $2,000 mistakes I made and research standover carefully. Measure your inseam accurately and get real measurements of the ebikes you're shopping, not just "rider height" measurements or lies from dishonest marketing bois.
GREAT upgrades! I'm very happy with the August 2023 delivery I received, but this is next level for sure. Steve and his crew are absolutely creating the best-value e-bike on the market today!
Second review I watched on these, compared to others and my old Rad bike I just sold so I can upgrade this winter. I think this is the bike for me. I like the larger rack space. I like to haul stuff, more room better. The suspension upgrade is really great, I seen the reviews from people on old one where it would rub the controller. This is great. Look forwards to ordering one.
My brother got the Aug '23 model with two different shocks. He still has the smaller one on the bike and has had no rubbing on the controller box yet and he is about 250 lbs. He likes the rear rack on his better than the upgrade because it is just as long but it connects directly to the rear frame instead of that single piece on each side coming from the center. He prefers the longer plastic fenders which won't rust or make lots of noise on loose gravel roads. He also like the lower seat height of the previous suspension since he can just touch his feet on the ground when parked.
My Wired cruiser should be here in October. Really looking forward to it. I personally like the larger rack, i'll be using the bike for hunting so the more storage for gear the better. Great review as always.
It looks like they could move the back rack perhaps a couple inches closer to the seat if it's to long but personnaly I like the back rack just the way it is. Also, I totaly agree with your assesment of the handlebars, the handlebars need to be a couple of inches wider just as you said; there is not enough room there. The only minor issue for me would be a softer seat like perhaps a cloud 9 style seat, but hey beggers can't be choosers. A BIG thank you to Wired for maintaining the price point, it looks like I got in at just the right time for my upgrade. Would this be called the "Wired - 2" or perhaps the Wired Freedom 2, or perhaps just the freedom 2 bike. Hmm, I wonder what the new upgrade name will be. Thank you sir for doing this, this means alot to me!
$2000 is not begging. Powerful ebike motors and batteries are less expensive than ever. They should be adding better accessories. Better seat, a lighting system that includes a HORN and turn signals etc. Only a couple dollars of profit difference per bike. And more people want to be safe and comfortable than go a couple mph faster. They are limiting their customer base with greed.
Hotdog! I can’t wait for my Freedom! This will be my first e-bike and admittedly also my bar hopper. I’m no “cyclist” but these upgrades are RAD, the fenders are worthy of going on the bike now and I’m stoked about the suspension and new gearing. Torque sensors are for baby wieners! Nice job WIRED/CCycle
This would be my first e-bike as well. I've put in a lot of time researching and was leaning to the FREEDOM, then this 2024 showed up. Now I'm absolutely sold on this bike!
Your first e-bike and you have the experience to label those who desire torque sensors negatively. I question whether you even understand the difference. Good luck not killing yourself bar hopping.
I'm about halfway through this video, and plan to watch the rest but have a question I want to ask. Do you or anyone make a purpose-built accessory for carrying large coffees? Very nice looking bike by the way. Does it come with any security? I don't know if bike theft is big in my area but wouldn't want to take a chance either.
Yeah I agree with the handlebar thing with adding a few more mm cause it looks too cramped together with that last thing almost not fitting on the straight part of the bar. Also, not sure if I like the bike being 10lbs heavier. Was hoping that they added turn signals to the taillight and updated the headlight to a more rectangle design. Does the bell come with the bike or did you add that? Overall, looking forward to getting this newer model.
I’d also add that I’m not sure the Tire change is a great idea, I have Kenda crusades on another bike and the rear tire is quite worn starting about 350 miles. I run rear cargo/weight on my bikes and those tires seem to wear quickly. The Chao Yangs on my Cruiser show little to no wear after nearly 300 miles…
Short rack just big enough for a bag is better save on room for legs to get over and lighter I never need that much of a rack on an e-bike thanks for sharing the information bud great job I watch your channel a lot 😊got a wired coming in November thanks
the rear suspension looks a lot more robust- thanks for that footage at 6:20 , that helps visualize it. I like how it comes with the big chainring, decked out with accessories rack fenders light etc. It's a good lookking bike. Just wish they were in stock for once. It's always some weird pre order situation.
They are taking ordered then buying not fronting any cash, which means they are not cash flowing yet raking support small margins, I'm betting once they hit an order volume they get a discount or a rebate
Hey Brian. First a disclaimer, I really like your channel and am a subscriber. That said, why do you take the bikes you are reviewing and post the speed they can do when you are going downhill? That's not the bikes speed, that's gravity! That dosen't mean anything. Depending on how steep the hill is you probably could hit 60+! Okay, now the new Freedom. I REALLY like all the improvements. The rack might be a little long but I can live with that. I'd rather have it a little too long rather than too short. Like many of the other comments, I wish it had a torque sensor. I've been considering this bike or the Havoc X2 AWD. Both have their pluses and minuses but the BIG plus for me on the Havoc is duel motor. That's huge for me. Top speed (important to me) was close ON LEVEL GROUND. Havoc was 34 and the freedom was 37. Being that close I honestly don't think I could tell the difference when riding the bikes. One thing that scarted me about the new Freedom is you not being able to put your feet flat the ground when sitting on the bike. In your video "Wired Freedom eBike - Final Product" you had both feet flat on the ground when sitting on the bike (like you, I'm 6 ft tall). I don't like the idea of coming to a full stop when I'm out riding and having to use my toes to balance the bike when stopped. Bottom line, I'm still up in the air about which bike to buy. Havoc is more expensive but the shipping is free and right now they are not charging sales tax which brings the final price of both bikes closer. Film at 11.
Your debating between a 20x4 AWD and a 26x4 single high output. Quite different bikes. There has to be a use case scenario that one really fits the bill better for you??.. Far as stopping and being in tip toes, just slide forward a tad and stand over the top bar at 6ft tall.
I know they are very different bikes. That's what's so crazy. I have no case scenario as you suggest. I have never owned an ebike (just a tricked out Harley years ago). So I am just looking at a ton of RUclips videos (tursting Brian's videos the most) and picking the ones I like the most and make a decision from there. If you have any suggustiion on how to make that first ebike drcision I'd love to hear them. As you can tell from my choices, top speed is important. I don't wamt to putt along at 20 mph. I'd rather not slid forward to put my feet flat on the gropund but I may have to.
@@leeolson9103 I’m no expert, I have multiple e-bikes and have experienced a few different configurations. For me I really like the Wired bikes, I like how it fits me and have been able to dial in how it performs/rides nearly exactly to my liking. I don’t have any personal experience with Fabulous e-bikes but was cross shopping the Road Warrior AWD with the Wired a couple months back. I really like the features of the Fabulous bikes but realized how little Id actually use the AWD and that the extra weight/maintenance of all those components would rarely benefit me in the riding I do (mostly forest covered bike paths, some dirt paths and occasional street riding). I have a couple 20x4 bikes and they are more convenient to maneuver around but once I’m up on the bikes riding I much prefer the 26x4 bikes. I also prefer 52v and up systems as it seems like even when locked into class 3 speeds (28mph) I don’t notice as much performance decrease when the battery gets lower vs the 48v systems. Really like the 60v system on the Wired bike. I rode 48 miles yesterday and came home with 55v on the battery that jumped up to 57v after sitting a minute. I used a mix of top speed throttle runs when I felt spicey and mostly pas 2/3 averaging about 18mph overall. Great range for a big powerful bike.
OK, I"m Pissed at the Seat Height. The main reason i Bought the Freedom was the low seat height of 33.5 inches. Now the new model is up to 35 inches. Thats taller than the Cruiser. Citizen, Is the seat as low as possible? Do you think the seat Tube can be cut down. Please me know....Thanks for the great video.
I bought the suntour suspension seatpost before getting the bike, with the new suspension upgrade do you think it’s overkill with the seatpost now? Also any settings changes needed for new battery? Or do they have it setup right from the start? New rear rack looks beefier but not a fan of how they connected it, like the older style that goes down the swing arm as it’s more stable. Wish the front light mount be upgraded to prevent sag.
I agree about the rear rack I got mine in August I like how they bolted the rack to the trailing forks and beefed up the rack. I like some of the improvements they made like the rear suspension and front forks. The 56 tooth gearing is only slightly better (necessary?) And I like the longer plastic front fender on mine better.
@CitizenCycle, tried to use your link when I ordered but for some reason don't think it worked for me as I didn't see a discount. No worries though, the order went through and should receive the titian color (orange). I always didn't order when I was surprised with the $250 shipping, but my next choice was the Cyrusher Trax/Ranger which is $2799. $1999 + $250 is still far cheaper than the Cyrusher even though I'm a big fan of a torque sensor. I've been on the fence of ordering the Freedom for some time to supplement my other high-end narrow tire bike, and glad I waited for the 2024 model. At my age, I really don't care about the speed, more looking forward to that rear air shock. Thanks for your time and effort you put into making these videos.
I hope the discount was there and you just missed it... discount ended on 9/30 so not sure what time you ordered and what time they shut it off. but you will have to let me know how you like it. suspension is similar to the Ranger but power is totally different, its lighter than the range too.
I just received my Titian-colored 2024 wired freedom the other day! Amazing bike!! In regards to the rack, I think longer is better mainly because if I want to buy a second battery the batteries are close to 18 in long so it would fit perfectly on the rack!
That bike is STUNNING in the Shinny Titan orange ! I'm with you on that battery idea, However I can not find a proper bike bag big enough to hold the 18 in long battery.?
That part at 20:08, the peddle assist settings, was invaluable. I've been looking for a bike that lets me more or less control how many watts of assist I want.
I'm really interested in this, and I would definitely consider buying it if I didn't already buy a 2022 Magicycle. Selling my other used e-bike on fb recently was a hassle, dealing with numerous people attempting scams and shady dealings. While i have a top speed of just 27mph, making things a bit safer for me, I have to admit, this new wired is tempting. But timing was off by 1.5 yrs
Hope you have hydraulic brakes on that Magicycle. It should be illegal to sell a class 3 bike without them!! Wtf, 2023 what are they thinking? Perfect example of a Company putting profits ahead of safety.
I like everything about the bike, and prefer the longer rack to carry my gear and saddlebags when I go tent camping at specific parks, it's the perfect bike for it.
I just took the old model for a test ride and I really liked it a lot so I ordered two of them. I really hope I don't end up disappointed with the changes if this is what they're sending me. Aesthetically the suspension changes the entire look of the frame, and the bike appears to be longer and taller.
Love ALL the new improvements ! What a well done amazing bike for the Buck ! I cant tell you how happy and excited I am that my new Freedom bike will be the Totally upgraded 2024 version .YES !
Sold my fully updated Rad Rover with a true 750 motor, controller, two 52v batteries, with a Datex2 ,I’m now looking at this, it’s totally amazing, It’s what I always wanted in an Ebike and no major upgrades required.. this leaves anything the Rad company has in the dust, Rad and other companies are going to have to realize that what people want is more power, and yes speed, let us decide to follow the law or to break it as It’s our choice, we can be foolish or wise we are adults, and most of us like myself are senior citizens anyway, if we want to mess with the settings, let it be on our head and not the company. 👍😎 (I want this awesome machine)🤓
I like the longer fenders. I live in Washington State and as I write this, it's raining. I need more protection from the splashing.
Fantastic upgrade…. This is now genuinely the best bang for the buck on the market!
Absolutely love this new bike!
Your channel is my go-to channel for ebike reviews.
just got mine today!!!!!!!! its absolutely amazing! what a beast of a bike!!
I love big racks 😂. The bike is really beautiful besides everything else it has going for it. You forgot to mention #10, free bell!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my wired bike, delivered this past August 23 and have been using it like crazy!
How many miles, and were they trouble free?
@TheTaxreliever thank you. I appreciate your response 👍
I’m blown away with that speed, wow
I love all the upgrades. I really like the bigger rear rack.
Hey I’ve looked everywhere to see if this bike is an all terrain bike do you happen to know if this bike can handle winter riding ?
I also need to know about winter capabilities
Ordered my freedom 8/23. I was kinda bummed that I have to wait. But now seeing the updates I'm glad they weren't in stock. 😊

Awesome!!! Enjoy!!!
Finder should be longer @ the back to cover the control box and front to protect the frame..ok if you live in California..but in Vancouver always raining..
available in Canada?
Aww man.....we just got our 2023 models a month ago. Even the 2023 model suspension is pretty dang good for the trail and single track that I ride. I would've loved the 2024 suspension but I'm still very satisfied with what I have. The 2023 forks seem to have a bit of "fore and aft" play in them, but they still worked well for me...and fyi, I'm at 230lbs. Thank you for another awesome review!
I was worried about the suspension and gearbox gap on my November delivery Now I’m super excited about the new upgraded bike I’m getting. Thx CC925 & Wired 👍
What are you seeing for average max mileage. I like the rack. I’m looking for an ebike for adventure photography.
So glad I got a aug 23 model. Best e-bike ever !!!
One minor complaint is that they charge $250 for shipping plus another $75 for shipping insurance. At $250 for shipping, seems like this should already include insurance. They do offer pickups in Illinois though so if you live in the area, you can save yourself $325.
Freight shipping cost $250 minimum. $75 insurance would only cover $750 typically.
Exactly. Even after paying 300 for shipping they should automatically deliver it without a scratch on it
Thanks for pointing out the $50 affiliated link. Order today and save 50 bucks. Great video great info.
Never heard any negative feedback about Wired Bikes, now they even made it better, what a bike, wish WIRED would have a dealer here in Canada.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sell it, not many of these on the market. They'll retain value.
you want to buy it? it's got a little over a hundred miles on it so the battery is just now equalized. I really love it. got studded snow tires for it too. thought about it. not for sale. maybe i will get another next summer. lol.

Only wish is a Torque sensor, but im still Excited Can't wait for my delivery.
Order one for October, hope I get a 2024 ,Now that was GREAT NEWS . 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Same here 😂
Just get it! Shes lost count by now
the fact that they can keep this at 2k shows you how all these other company's are taking advantage of everyone no big advertising just word of mouth and youtubers like citizen helps keep the price down good job both wired and citizen another great vid as usual
Hey just wondering does anyone know if this bike is made for winter riding?

That ginormous chainring is the first thing i noticed. Im usually ghost pedaling in 4 and 5 PAS on the couple ebikes ive tried. Really comfy looking cruiser with those upright bars. 👍🚲
I bought mine, can’t wait until November!
hope you get it quick! you are going to have a blast!
Thanks mate
Can you buy the longer fenders to fit this bike, hopefully you can, because I live in Florida and it really rains a lot here.
Agreed. I’m not sure who would use this regularly and accept getting road spray constantly up on their clothes.
Great video. Got mine coming in November. I totally agree about the handlebar room issue. I will add one of those extra additional horizontal bars for my many accessories. But I disagree about the rack. The more room the better for me (plus I got the Cruiser, so throwing my leg up and around is not an issue). A second battery AND a rear bag might fit, which would be great, as entertaining the idea of a second battery to get some awesome range.
does it have enough juice to power wheelie
Hey do you happen to know if this bike is made for winter riding? I haven’t seen anything that says this is an all terrain bike.
@@cameron2090the cold is not good for the battery etc
Who made this batterie
I'm looking forward to my bike in November but now I'm super excited!
I would love to see a throttle only range test on this bike on a single battery charge
he's already done this.
25-30+ miles depending on weight , wind , uphill, speed etc.
Nice Bike Matey! Is the new suspension enough or would you still recommend a suspension post aye?
I don't think a suspension post is really needed with this model.
Getting mine next month! Can't wait!!!!! 😀
@@dixienormis3614 already did 😂
Awesome I'm putting my order in as soon as I'm done with you video thanks for making my day
They did a excellent job with improvements now if we ever get into the graphine batteries it will be even better.
Wow! I am impressed with that bike's top speed. Thats almost Talaria Sting MX3 speeds but in actual bicycle form factor & half the price.
$250 plus $75 for insurance
Just asked them, $250 + 75 insurance😂everyone needs to stop advertising this e-bike for just $1999, unless you just happened to be lived in WOOD DALE, ILLINOIS. I hate that they never mentioned about shipping on their website making people think it’s just $1999.
E cell ebikes sell same bike better controller no shopping 1899.00?
Just picked mine up in northern Chicago. This thing is huge! I wish the free bag was long enough to store another battery inside.
This motor is better than bafang it’s also what super 73 use I believe
My Bafang motor lasted 6,039 miles before the nylon gears disintegrated
I was not able to get the 2023 😢 I’m so glad I waited 😊for 2024.
And this is kinda Why I did.. Technology always improves and it will always change. 😮
I was about to be salty that I just bought the old model, but I'm even more hyped to get the new one. 😂
I can't wait to get mine this November!!!

Awesome very detailed video/ review! You covered everything with the Freedom! Maybe I missed it but I’m assuming the 2024 Cruiser has the same upgrades?
I ordered my Wired Cruiser August 11th and expected delivery is 10/23
I’m hoping it has the new upgraded Samsung battery and upgraded motor?🤞
As always , CitizenCycle videos are done to perfection. I already have my ordered in for nov. Also I ordered the game cart with this bike. So I really don't see a problem with this new resigned rear rack. Amazon has a brotech Bike Handlebar Extender Double Handlebar Extension Carbon Fiber Mount Holder with Aluminum Alloy Bracket Space Saver
Brand: Kbrotech, also Graspur Single ATV Gun & Bow Rack - Model ATV, and mud flaps for the fenders. I can't wait to get this new ebike.
By the way , I love the enthusiasm in your voice when you talk about the Wired Freedom
@@Grevlain🤫
I have an ebike way less powerful than this and I haven’t shifted out of 7th gear in months. They could put the shifter on the rear rack is all I’m saying. 😆
@@roger3958 LOL. Yeah, I gotta admit that I never shift my hub drive bikes down either.
(I got them to actually measure from the ground to the top of the rear suspension, which is actually higher than the crossbar, and it turns out their advertised standover might actually be higher than the real standover.)
Can I ride all these bikes, and could I ride the Wired Freedom?
Amazing upgrades, even more excited to get mine in November now! Thanks Citizencycle!!

Already own the Cruiser, talked my nephew into buying one
Second review I watched on these, compared to others and my old Rad bike I just sold so I can upgrade this winter. I think this is the bike for me. I like the larger rack space. I like to haul stuff, more room better. The suspension upgrade is really great, I seen the reviews from people on old one where it would rub the controller. This is great. Look forwards to ordering one.
Good choice! will be way different than your Rad!
Did yours arrive yet??
rear rack is a good length, but just needs to me moved foreword or have a couple options for front to rear placement
Ordered mine in blue. Can’t wait till November.
I really like my 2023, Steven called me three times, they really have some awesome customer service, that's all I want to say right now
Why does the website still display the old model? Kind of scared to order without the new model being on the actual site
Should be updated shortly. They don't have any of the old model to send out, so you're good.😊
Thank you @CitizenCycle , Bryan for sharing this.
Excellent video! Ordered myself a 2024 Hunter Green this morning.
Awesome, hope you love it!
@@CitizenCycle925 I already do and I haven't even seen it yet. My first ebike:)
The Nakto Super Cruiser, They CyrusherXF900 and theWired Freedom bike are the best 3 Engineered ebikes to me
I’d also add that I’m not sure the Tire change is a great idea, I have Kenda crusades on another bike and the rear tire is quite worn starting about 350 miles. I run rear cargo/weight on my bikes and those tires seem to wear quickly. The Chao Yangs on my Cruiser show little to no wear after nearly 300 miles…
I am definitely buying one of these
Let's go!!! I can't wait until my bikes get here next month!! Thanks for this video!!
Me too!
Same I can’t wait I got the army green colored one looks sick
I wanna get one, but i think i'll wait a few months and see if any hiccup's need to get resolved. I'm very impressed with what i see so far.
Film at 11.
I think the downhill was intended to show the elimination of ghost pedaling even at ridiculous speeds.
I would agree but he shows downhill speed on all his videos.@@BabyBoomer1959
Can wait for my October order. Just a few more weeks!
OK, I"m Pissed at the Seat Height. The main reason i Bought the
Freedom was the low seat height of 33.5 inches. Now the new model is up to 35 inches. Thats taller than the Cruiser. Citizen, Is the seat as low as possible? Do you think the seat Tube can be cut down. Please me know....Thanks for the great video.
35.4 “ is minimum height
I bought the suntour suspension seatpost before getting the bike, with the new suspension upgrade do you think it’s overkill with the seatpost now? Also any settings changes needed for new battery? Or do they have it setup right from the start? New rear rack looks beefier but not a fan of how they connected it, like the older style that goes down the swing arm as it’s more stable. Wish the front light mount be upgraded to prevent sag.
I want to get that seatpost as well. Overkill on comfort?
Better off with a dropper post with the new rear suspension.
I agree about the rear rack
I got mine in August
I like how they bolted the rack to the trailing forks and beefed up the rack.
I like some of the improvements they made like the rear suspension and front forks.
The 56 tooth gearing is only slightly better (necessary?) And I like the longer plastic front fender on mine better.
Oh yes, I'm also not crazy about the heavier weight of this design.
@@CitizenCycle925 I like it already, even before getting it as I bought the Titian (Burnt Orange) lol
Just ordered one, thanks
Hope you enjoy it!
I like the new metal fenders. Plastic is never straight
Wait till they start to rattle.
I think that this one is the best for a new rider that likes speed along with a bicycle!
I like everything about the bike, and prefer the longer rack to carry my gear and saddlebags when I go tent camping at specific parks, it's the perfect bike for it.
Very informative. Good on you. I believed you changed my mind on which ebike I'm going with.
I just took the old model for a test ride and I really liked it a lot so I ordered two of them. I really hope I don't end up disappointed with the changes if this is what they're sending me. Aesthetically the suspension changes the entire look of the frame, and the bike appears to be longer and taller.
Well, what’s your verdict on the 2024?
I like the longer rack! Good for carrying a spare battery!
yep, and $800 for a second battery, still just about 3k for all that
Love ALL the new improvements ! What a well done amazing bike for the Buck ! I cant tell you how happy and excited I am that my new Freedom bike will be the Totally upgraded 2024 version .YES !
Me too!
6:16 2002 Subaru WRX STI with Blue/Gold standard color option and a Side-Skirt kit. Very cool.
Mighty difficult to beat what Wired Freedom 2024 has to offer at this price point.
Good Deal!@@TrumpWinsChristmas
