My Lectric Xpeak is a beast! Not only does it look awesome and I get lots of compliments besides the fact that it looks so much like a real mountain bike but the service support team is amazing! I’ve had a couple of issues with my bike but they were quick to respond and helped me get back on the road!
I like to hear more things you don't like about the bikes, also the actual throttle type and location. I hate throttles on the left and by far prefer a twist hand throttle. The more details and specs the better. In case you care.
A nice sample of very popular fat tire bikes! I appreciate your advice to ride these bikes responsibly and not ruin it for everyone else. You also mentioned a really important fact, there is no mass market for higher priced bikes. It seems that $2000 is the magic number for mass market appeal. In electronics, there has never been a mass adopted consumer electronic product over 2k. Bike makers who are selling $2500 or $3000+ bikes are playing for scraps in a niche market. Aventon, Lectric, and Rad know this as virtually their entire line up is sub 2k. I will say once you try a high powered full suspension e bike, you will never be happy on a normal 48volt 750 watt fat tire hard tail again.
I can vouch for the latest 2024+ Wired Freedom. I went from a Rad City 4 that i had for 12k miles which to this day I still love but needing so much on repairs I decided to invest that money on a Wired. I did a local pickup since I live in Illinois and let me tell you, it's a BEAST. Only have about 1100 miles on it so far (in 7 weeks), it's my daily commuter, i've seen over 70 miles of range with both batteries driving for a majority of that over 40mph. It sees 3200 watts on the display, customer service is stellar and although it doesn't handle as well as the Rad due to the fat tires it makes up for in power and comfort.
"BRANDS TO WATCH" -> E-CELLS for sure, with the rear wheel drive 5 Star and the Kings Crown 2 wheel drive, 2 battery . BOTH have dual suspension. The quality of design, build and components are top notch.
@@jfly2249 Are you trying to tell me that a WIRED bike, ANY WIRED model, is better than an E-CELLS because their batteries aren't UL certified?? ALL E-CELLS batteries are SAMSUNG batteries and ALL of them imported into the US are safety certified, just maybe not by UL. WHO makes the WIRED batteries?
@@jfly2249 The E-CELLS SAMSUNG batteries are certified to UN38.3. UL has been lae to the game and is still catching up on testing BECAUSE testing each battery style is very expensive, in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Nice review, guys. I hope that you'll add the Aima Big Sur to your list next year. It's a great all-around fat tire ebike, with quality Bafang components (motor, controller and display), torque sensor, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 203mm rotors, and Shimano Altus derailleur and shifters. And maybe best of all, it's only sold through bike shop dealers, so you get support whenever you need it. Their latest model, the Santa Monica commuter bike, is selling out everywhere; maybe that's why Aima ebike reviews are not that common.
Would love to see a review on the dirwin pacer plus. I has torque and cadence sensor at the push of a button and speed upgrade with a push of a button as well as dual batteries. Thanks
Yes, I would love to see a review of folding bikes, which one would be highly recommended! Hope to see that soon on your channel! Thanks for all the great reviews on all the E bikes.
I know this is a tricky question. Do you rate the bikes and companies long term: customer service, what upgrades are best and ongoing problems or high points? Looking for one of these fat tire ebikes is a nightmare for first time buyers. Especially so when money is tight. Bikes like the Kingbull Hunter, Heybike Brawn and Lectric XPeak are reasonably priced, for me, but what about next month or year? Will their sites be gone and no one to honor their warranty?
Great comparison video! Wife and I will use this to help decide on what is best for us. Have you reviewed any 24" x 4" bikes ? Also, any reviews on car racks?
You should include a 24” fat tire e-bike. Besides a step though version it’s there for those riders taller than 5 feet but less than 5’10”, but I guess you don’t want to talk about the E-cell line😊
Look for a e-bike not that expensive , while I appreciated you presentation, I’d like a solid step though class 2 without so many hoots and whistles . If you ever do that it would be also be appreciated.
I had the Xpeak step over and the death wobble was so bad I rode it back to their Phoenix location to return it so I didn’t have to deal with the hassle of shipping it. I got the Ride1up Cafe Cruiser instead since I didn’t want to spend any more money and I knew a 35+ MPH bike will be in my near future to keep up with traffic on side streets. I wasn’t super happy with it, the motor is very weak for the size/weight of the bike and the 26x3 tires just don’t have great options. But it is VERY comfortable; just needs to be modernized with a more powerful motor/controller. Then over 4th of July… I noticed Ride1up had the rift for $1395 WITH a free battery??? I was instantly sold. Got it in 2 weeks ago, absolutely incredible bike. The fork feels just as good as the Lectric if not a little better, the 4 piston brakes are absolutely amazing, a 20 AH battery is really awesome (the 14AH in the lectric… is just a little small.) and doing the “magnet trick” that reduces the speedometer by 50% lets you cruise at 30mph at a comfortable cadence and effort. It is great off the line, and I wanted a passenger-seat capable bike that didn’t struggle... With a passenger. It’s in my inventory for the long haul. One thing I really like about Ride1up is they don’t throw in a bunch of junk to try and “sweeten the deal.” I’ve bought a LOT of e bike phone mounts, cupholders, locks, etc. at this point and the stuff that comes with the lectric bikes is just not that compelling, you’re going to want to upgrade.
@@EbikeEscape it was when there was any weight on the rear rack at all. Even just the empty basket (that came with the bike.) The only way to fix it was to load it up in the front basket with 10ish pounds of weight and not have anything on the rear rack… which is not exactly ideal.
What do you do with the batteries. I'm very, concerned about battery fires. I see these channels with many Ebikes and I see 10x the battery fire risk. What do you do to minimize the risk?
Not because I'm a big fan of Magicycle, but I've noticed that it is never on your recommanded list? Why is that? Bad customer support? Quality issues or there was too much copying Himiway?
We've reviewed a few and I do like them but we have to prioritize brands we like a bit more. My biggest concern would be customer support, I just have more confidence in brands with US based support.
I think it's a decent bike but these are the ones we like for the whole package (taking into account brands we trust). I just have less experience with Mokwheel though I have heard good things from some dealers.

And for the same $1999 price point the New Freedom comes with 2 batteries, bigger 203mm 4piston calipers, AND an even bigger 45 amp Potted controller. BY FAR THE MOST CLUCK FOR THE BUCK ! Also you need to inform people a suspension seat post is a Band aid compared to a proper full suspension e-bike.
You are right. Full suspension and 2 batteries for 2K is an excellent deal. I am an old dude so I am getting a Wired Cruiser step thru for my next bike. You do have to pay for shipping though.
@@quantumfx2677 I believe that the E-Cells Dual Star Is indeed a better Engineered bike than its almost identical counterpart the Wired Freedom. Initially, the Wired bikes are a much better deal with standard dual batteries and bigger brakes for $2000 then you must pay for shipping, taxes, Insurance, and now it’s a $2400 bike. I spent $100 more buying the E-Cells similarly specked Dual Star and got a torque sensor, dual crown forks (a HUGE upgrade) as well as gold anodized wheels. instead of the Wired bike. In my opinion, I just bought the Crown jewel of the entire E-bike market !
