E-Bike Question of the Day: What do you think about our picks for the best fat tire electric bikes? What others would you add to it? Let us know in the comments below!
I would have bought an Aventon but in Canada they are far more expensive compared to Lectric xpeak. (Aventon 2 3000$ CAD lectric xpeak 1800$ CAD) the difference is huge.
You guys MUST try the new Wired Freedom and Cruiser. Full suspension, 2100 wh 60v battery putting out 3200watts, thru axle fork with 203mm rotors and 4 piston brakes for $1999. Makes every bike on your list look slow, underpowered, and overpriced. I’d bet they would gladly send you one since they seem to really value objective reviews and yours have a rigorous and objective format.
e-cells five star dual star and the wired freedom. neither are mentioned here. also, juiced bikes jetcurrent pro is not out yet but coming later this year. it may be worth checking out for a folding ebike. velotric fold 1 is also a noteworthy one. with the ebike tarrifs all the prices will be going up.
I am 69 and have purchased an Aventon 500.3 cruiser. First E-bike. I have ridden motorcycles all of my life, Enduro’s motocross hillclimbing and Harley Davidson’s. After researching extensively, the first thing I want to know about an E-bike is how fast does it go? Thanks for the reviews.
I bought me and my wife the Lectric xp 3.0 and we absolutely love them. I have the passenger package so my 5 year old son can come with. My son absolutely loves it. The Lectric xp 3.0 perfect for family’s
Haven't watched this video yet. But I was studying what my 1st E bike fat tire should be for weeks. I used a lot of your videos to help me finally decide. Hopefully the Aventon:Aventure2 doesn't disappoint me will be here next week.
Look at Fucare. The Scorpio is an awesome bike especially for $1079. 20x4 fat tire, full suspension, sweet non balloon tires, great lights, big battery 20ah with LG Cells, super strong trellis frame with 400lb load limit, etc. you guys should review Fucare
This is exactly the video I needed, now a list on Torque Sensor e-bikes would be the icing on the cake, I want an affordable e-bike that is good for hill climbing. My ideal bike would be sub $2k, torque sensor, off road tires with front suspension , high torque motor, and screen with good information. The Aventon Aventure 2 checks most boxes but at $1800ish is a bit much for my current budget and I don’t like integrating racks, would prefer something that has more of a traditional bike shape like the Ride1up Lmt’d, my only real complaint is the lack of off road tires and the battery is just a bit physically larger than I’d like. Great video again guys!
If climbing hill get a mid drive. Being able to run motor through gears makes a huge difference. Look for used at an ebike store if you want quality at a low price.
The Aventure did come to mind while reading it. The LMT'D would be a great choice too. You can always look at swapping out the tires if that's all that's holding you back on it.
E-CELLS SUPER MONARCH AWD 1000 WATTS seems to be very versatile and checks a lot of boxes. Thanks for your testing and review on various E-Bikes to help us know which will fit our needs the best! All the best!
how does the Obsideon compare to the Vitalin T7 pro? Want to take advantage of black Friday and can't decide which is the clear winner they are close to the same price point.
Finding objective useful brand on brand videos is almost impossible - thank you for this! I’m upgrading from an XP2.0 and was wavering between the XPeak or Adventure2.0 - and this may have leaned me towards the Aventon.
Hey @ElectricBikeReport do companies like Aventon pay for you to review. It’s a lot of work editing and what not just wondering. Do they comp you a bike? Not just Aventon but other suppliers as well. Thanks
Yeah E-Cells 5 star and Wired freedom along with the Motor Goat must not have filled your pockets . These 3 bikes have the most value for your $$$$$ not the ones you claimed were best of 2024
@@ElectricBikeReport Regarding the Nomad, it being 1299 right now for the power and range it provides is a steal. It just seems like the option that gets you the most per dollar spent. The Adventure is sort of great at everything. I don't have one but from everything I've read Aventon uses quality parts and is has a great reputation. Rear rack and fenders are also nice additions.
Very informative video! Graphs for each test result with all 20 bikes would be have been interesting and helpful in comparing bikes. I was disappointed that the Denago Fat Tire wasn't tested since it is one of the bikes available at a shop near me. But overall, a very helpful video.
@@Margo-q8v I did. Assembly was easy enough. I put about 8 miles on it so far. I tested rode a Neo Allroad S. Main difference between the 2 are power, ones a class 3 and the number of gears. Definatle say the Radrover 6 is well worth the $1000 less.
what would your recommendation be for a 20" E-bike to be used for the following: Long distance bike Touring, (weight ~ 320lbs), grocery haul, week-end adventure with two dogs?
Look at the Fucare Scorpio. Fits all your requirements and many more. Load limit of 400 lbs, trellis frame. Big ass battery, great tires. Bmx style handlebars, full suspension, great lights and only $1079 free shipping. I just got one and highly approve! Lectric makes a nice dog trailer and put it on sale often
@@tenncutt I like FUCARE also; I ended up purchasing a Fiido T2; Beautiful and also everything I need to carry me, all of my camp gear, and my two dogs :); Compact Cargo. (Check it Out).
2023-2024 best fat tire e bikes you reviewed and aventon is always on top. How come no wired freedom or e cells 5 star both of them are way better than any of the bikes your team reviewed and better priced I sure you heard of them
Because we have not tested either of those bikes yet. The Aventure is still what we feel is the best all-around fat bike. We have a Wired bike on the way though so we'll be testing it out soon.
My two favorites were the Adventure 2 and Velotric Nomad. I was able to find a Nomad for sale locally and after cruising around on it I was sold, they were also able to match the online price which made it a great deal at almost half the price of the Adventure 2! This is my first E-bike, it’s easier to pedal than I thought it would be and you can get a workout on it if you choose to pedal on the lower pedal assist settings. Thanks EBR, I was looking for a fat tire E-bike and this review definitely helped make my final decision easier!
I am surprised that the Ariel rider Kepler or other models by Ariel rider never made it on this list. 1,000 watt hub motor 1,800 max 52 V 20 ah 45 miles an hour of road 75 miles range This thing flys Do you need Brakes hydraulic Tektro HD-E 350 Currently $1,499
I'm surprised the Aima Big Sur is not on this list. I found it to be superior to the Aventure 2. I think it also looks better. I would love to see a review.
Great question! We'll give you a couple options. The Aventure.2 is a great all-around choice; it's big, comfortable, and tons of fun. The Radster Trail is similar but feels a bit more like a regular bike because of its narrower tires. And then the Mokwheel Obsidian's full suspension will make it a bit more comfortable if users will be riding over rough and rocky terrain.
funny. when i first started researching fat tire ebikes i started with the aventon aventure.2 (adventure misspelled in the model name). it’s your best overall on your list here. my list changed to the e-cells five star dualstar and the wired freedom. neither of these are mentioned on your list.
I'm just starting to look at these bikes, mostly because my son just got hooked into these things. Question: Why wasn't the Grizzly included in the testing?
All of the bikes on our list are ones that we have personal, hands-on experience with; we don't recommend bikes otherwise. We haven't had the chance to test and review the Grizzly yet, but we've heard good things.
My buddy has a Super 73 with 960 wh battery. My Gazelle NL with 500 wh goes at least 25 miles further keeping it in turbo assist the whole ride. Fat tyres and suspension really reduce range😮
It depends on the style of bike; for example, a moto/moped-style e-bike won't have much trouble. But on something like a city bike, it can be tough to strike a good balance on a single-speed drivetrain. If the gearing isn't right, it can be tough to start moving or climb hills. On the opposite end, it could also end up with ghost pedaling in the bike's higher assist levels.
I like my Hiboy P6 , i haven't seen anything better for the price yet. The big flaw on most bikes seem to be the brakes and the acceleration I would like to get something that go faster but not over 2 k. Oh and normal tire size hahaha never again , Fat tires are fuzing awesome 😎
The BEST fat tire, rear hub e-bike made in 2024 (BAR NONE) is my dual-suspension 60V Wired Freedom. It blows away your weak choice of "Best full-suspension rear-hub" being the 1000 watt, 948 wh Mokwheel Obsidian, as mine has a high-torque 2200 watt rear-hub motor that moves my mass at over 40 mph, has a 1200 wh battery, full-suspension and a price of just under $2000. Sad that your reviewers are considering more expensive, lower-performing brands that offer FAR less value.
Man, no crowd loves as hard as the Wired crowd does :) We currently have one on the way in for testing. We only recommend ones we've tested since that's a pool of hundreds. We won't be surprised if the Wired Freedom makes the next video after we've been able to test for ourselves.
What is it that made you put the Aventure 2 as the best overall instead of the Mokwheel Basalt? By the numbers it seems like the Mokwheel beats or meets the Aventon in most categories. It goes further, slightly faster and cheaper. Just a bit longer for braking. Do you just not want to give the same bike more than one award? If so that's not very helpful. Is there something else that makes the Aventon better?
Excellent question. We hope to eventually do a full comparison between these bikes to go really in-depth. The Basalt is a solid bike, but the Aventon edged it out in a couple of small areas. We liked the Aventure's geometry and overall feel a little better. Its torque sensor also felt more natural and responsive.
@@ElectricBikeReport Thank you for the reply. As someone who is about 300 lbs and wanting to ride about 30 mile round trips do you think that the advantages of the Aventure outweigh the larger battery of the Basalt? Both in theory would have enough range, but I'd prefer to not have range anxiety.
The Aventure 2 has a problem with the front brake calipers. They angle is not correct, and the brake will make a clicking noise. You could sand the disk to stop this, but then you risk it being below the spec width. The Radster Trail isn't for bigger folks. It only has a 290 max rider capacity and you really have to drill down on their site to find out that the 370 lbs isn't actually correct. Sorry anyone over 6'2" tends to be around 300 lbs. The XPeak as a fatal flaw. You can fix the high speed wobble with an after market head tube insert, but Lectric won't even acknowledge the problem. They've taken back a bunch of these bikes because of this problem. I'm not going to speak to the others, because most are just not what I'm looking for.
Sorry you feel that way, but there's a reason these bikes made our list of the best! Still, no bike is perfect, and we have individual reviews for each model that address our points of critique.
Well ... for example, the X Peak Walk Trough has a wobble so bad Lectric recommends you not add the racks and baskets, to the existing mounting points, for safety reasons. U R unaware. I thought not!!!
I almost bought this dangerous bike ... but the reduced "sale" price plus all the added extra accessories just seemed wrong. Thankfully, I did not hit the order button. I did more research and found true, HONEST reviews showing the danger of this "off-road, durable" bike that can't SAFELY use the still-for-sale accessories to make it a practical bike. U made NO mention, Sir$$$. Thanks but, NO!

Umm.. no Rambo E- bikes ?
We haven't had a chance to test and review any of their bikes yet. Maybe in the future!
I stopped watching when your top fat bike had a 750w motor.
I’ll subscribe if you send me a fat tire e bike 👍
