      @@dawnforlife thank you. i've been trying to change my diet. Foods that contain gluten and high in sugar seem to be the trigger. It just sucks that i love bread bread so much.

      Steven Tyler oh yesss bread is a hard one to let go. The comfort of sinking into a fluffy one but you can always have some (organic at least) ones you get better ☺️

      @@VarozPk There are also some gluten free breads available online or in organic stores, that have great ingredients and also taste great / wheat bread like. Also for sugar you can take "Erythrit", which has the same sweetness and isn't artificial (you only have to take 2-3x more the amount of sugar) and actually ist great for the teeth (!) / and doesn't affect the blood sugar / doesn't have calories.

    After meeting some top notch naturopaths and ayurveda docs in India, I discovered that if you are eating very clean and your digestion is fine too then the only thing triggering your eczema is stress and anxiety. Yoga is recommended to overcome this.

    SUCH a wonderful video! I'm at my wits end with my eczema on my hands. RE: your comments about gluten-- when I lived in England and worked on a biodynamic farm, I met another American who could not tolerate gluten AT ALL when he ate wheat in America but had no reaction at all to a sourdough biodynamic (organic) wheat bread. Hey my friend, I'm sure you would. What do you mean a family full of kids and you cannot cook? Even so, you can make simple snacks if you can't cook. Fruits are a great option, fresh greens are also great. Doesn't have to start with something complicated. One step at a time, don't stress as it wouldn't help. Start with having fruits for breakfast instead of sweet biscuits or peanut butter and jam on white bread. Start with simple fruits. Wishing you well and keep the will going. Your body is designed to heal itself and you can heal. Remember that

    Hi Dawn, watched few videos. I am currently living in Malaysia. Totally agree with you on holistic approach to health and that gut health is the key. I went to the doctor to accompany a friend and the doctor recommended me to see his wife who is a dermatology with special interest in psoriasis. He talked abt an injection. I have tried steriod creams with Singapore Skin Specialist and not willing to do injections. Glad that now my husband is on board eating healthier. I am still looking for ways to heal myself holistically. Thanks for sharing.

    I used to get full body eczema, even on my face. I happened to go from vegetarian to vegan and my eczema went to away within a few days along with digestive issues. So I guess I was allergic to eggs or dairy or both. Now I only get it on a few fingers on my dominant hand. Would love to get rid of that as well. It's funny because when I switch doing things mostly with my left hand, my eczema switches to that hand and heals on my right. Makes me think that it's an external irritant like soap.

    I have eczema right now. “Nummular” eczema which appeared after I was bitten by bed bugs of some nasty beddings from a shipping line. My eczema followed only the bites and became bigger and circular. I have this now for almost 2 weeks. A steroid cream, lotion and an oatmeal soap was prescribed to me by a local dermatologist. It’s now all brown and some became flat and started to peel. I am hoping my skin would go back to its original shade after a few months🙏🏻

    I m suffering right now.. last three months were the worst.. i m going through TSW... its terrible hell .. the only thing comforted me is ordering out... But i try very much to curb my junk cravings.. i try not to order out all d time bt once a week may be as a reward.. Have cut out meat completely... i eat rice , whole wheat bread (homemade) (called roti/chappati in India) with veggies or curry... I have not completely been able to stop sugar.. i drink tea 2 time a day... With package milk and sugar.. i will try to stop it... But it so hard... Feel like missing out... But after your calm explaining.. i really dont feel like eating processed food at all.. thanks hope this feeling lasts... Donno when i will reach where u r at... Ur skin looks stunning.. i have had it since i was born .. more that 20 yrs i used steroid creams... 😭😭 Newy love your videos.. gives me hope... Please help on to what else can i do to heal my gut... Oh dear..yes TSW is very painful and I just had steroids short term, so I really cannot imagine 20 years. Sending you a prayer Siby and you are strong, your body is strong, just keep doing your best and eating clean.
      Please try to get organic wheat for bread making. These days, non organic are sprayed with glyphosate which is a very bad pesticide and even without eczema, you don't want that.
      Are you living in India? If you have any Ayurvedic doctor nearby, I recommend you seek them out for a smoother journey and support.
      Try to stay strong about junk/processed foods because they are really a huge problem. If you want a treat you can maybe try making them yourself? Or a healthier version? What do you like? Sweet or salty? Maybe I can try to come up with something so you can still have a home made treat that's healthy. Let me know :)

      You mentioned that you had this since birth for almost 20 years. Generally juvenile eczema gets cured or get some relief as you achieve puberty. Did you notice any change when you achieved puberty. If not, in my opinion you need further treatment and care. Steroids give temporary relief. Eczema returns the day you stop steroids. In my opinion, you should try homeopathy, having tried allopathy, ayurveda etc. Stop all sorts of nonvegetarian foods for some time. Avoid all diary. Not that all diary is bad. The problem is you cannot guarantee the type of food when those birds and animals grown by someone else. God alone knows the hygiene conditions. Drink lot of water. If possible try water fasting once a week. The idea is to detoxify your body

    Hello dawn! Thank you for your informative video.
    Why do we not have the bacteria to digest certain foods?
    Is it because we weren’t exposed to those bacterias in infancy?
    Thank you!!

    • @dawnforlife
      @dawnforlife  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! Great question. To be honest, I'm not too sure but I believe it is because of the modern diet where we eat a lot of processed food compared to our ancestors who had a lot of fresh produce and fermented food which introduces different bacteria strains into the body. And long term processed food means less and less of these bacteria and then less is passed on to the children and I believe even less when a child is not born vaginally. Not an expert but that's my understanding :)

    I currently have eczema flare ups that are the worst I’ve had in my life... it’s popped up within the past year, and hasn’t really budged... I have severe allergies to peanuts, soy, chickpeas, lentils, and peas, so I need to find a new way to get my protein if I can’t access untreated meats. I stay away from most -if not all- processed foods, and always have (chips, baked goods, soups, cereals- all those packaged and processed things). I’ve always preferred natural sugars from fruits, and the taste of fresh fruits and veggies, anyway! I’ve been drinking organic cow’s milk and lactaid (since my boyfriend is lactose intolerant), and I stay away from tomatoes and other citrus fruits, since i get awful acid reflux, and i heard those are inflammatory, too. So I’m wondering why my eczema is so bad and painful all of a sudden.... I’m twenty years old, and had pretty bad eczema as a baby (I was born extremely premature, so I have very sensitive skin, and I know that’s also where the asthma/allergies came from...) but i didn’t suffer from any flare ups until the past year.... Especially with the hot weather where i am, it’s a struggle... I was thinking of starting with cutting out dairy, since I’m not too keen on giving up my almond butter just yet, but I’ve also heard that nuts are not good for eczema... I was wondering if you had any advice? Much thanks- I loved your video, and I’ll continue to watch more!! ☺️

      Emma Calame-Pennington honestly I know exactly how you feel I am 20 as well and for the last 3/4 days my eczema has never been so so bad and I have no idea why it’s been like this!

      "I stay away from most if not all processed foods, and always have (chips, baked goods, soups, cereals- all those packaged and processed things)" - what does that mean? You stay away from most but you have chips, baked goods, etc? That's quite some processed food.
      As with nuts, they are rather heat producing in Ayurveda. Do check out my video on healthy foods to avoid for eczema.
      And finally, organic milk is NOT the same as organic raw milk which have all the enzymes and goodness necessary to digest it and give you healing. Organic milk when pasturised and/or homogenised, as mentioned in video, not really milk and more a processed food.
      Hope that helps :)

    How long after changing your diet did your eczema even begin to start clearing up? And then how long until you were healed? My eczema is so similar to yours from what you’ve explained it being like and based on the pictures! I’ve had it for almost 19 years, I changed my diet about 2 months ago and it’s discouraging to not see changes but I know it takes time so I’m trying to stay hopeful

      Hey Maya, I've just answered someone in these comments earlier so I'll just paste it here :)
      "I get asked this quite often, maybe I should address it in a vid so everyone will know hehe. It took me about three months but that thing is I didn't know how and what in the beginning and so it may have taken longer due to me experimenting with food and all.
      The reason I have not talked much about my "time" to heal is because I don't want people to have an expectation and feel more frustrations if they heal slower. We all heal at a different rate, but we heal. So, I hope that helps but stay patient =)"
      So yes, STAY hopeful, keep trying your best. 19 years is a LONG time so there are a lot of toxins your body is dealing with so help it and stay positive. I'm rooting for you. Remember your body wants to heal :)

    How do v get sufficient good bacteria in our gut to digest certain food like eggs

    • @dawnforlife
      @dawnforlife  4 года назад +1

      Start by eating a well balanced whole foods diet because green leafy vegetables and prebiotic foods are great to help our gut maintain a good environment for our existing good gut bacteria to thrive. If gut bacteria is already way out of balanced, a good supplement definitely helps.
      As for the specific biology to CREATE bacteria to digest a certain food, to be honest, I don't have an idea. I'm guessing a variety of whole foods fresh from an organic garden (which has lots of good bacteria), maybe be one way to introduce different good strains of bacteria to our gut.

    • @dawnforlife
      @dawnforlife  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, as Jennifer says, Humda. :) However, in the beginning it may cause a reaction for some people because fermented food in Ayurveda has the heat element which may worsen a rash. You can try though.
      Other ways would be to work with your hands in your own garden (if it's possible where you life). Lots of good bacteria in the earth and if you plant your own veggies, you don't have to wash them off the dirt too well because, as people say, some dirt can be good for you =)
      If it's not possible, at least when trying to heal in the beginning, I truly, highly recommend probiotics; a good one as the one I mentioned or some others without fillers. When you are strong and steady as I mentioned, then you can maintain with a healthy lifestyle :)
