  • Some common healthy foods to avoid if you have eczema. In Ayurveda, food is medicine. So, some food that are in doubt nutritious and healthy for our bodies, may still be less suitable when you have eczema.
    I'm sharing a few eczema foods to avoid EVEN when they are filled with goodness.
    Love,

    Drinking 16 glasses of water or 1 gallon of water has helped my eczema a lot. I think it’s just a way for the body to flush out whatever allergens are attacking the body. Good for gut health. Everytime I get flares I start drinking water and keeping tab of humidity levels. The flares visibly go down but at some point it is hard to control. I just developed eczema so will keep you posted…

      you can eat garlic,the only reason these "heat" foods she is avoiding is because your stomach is destroyed and cant handle it till u heal,but in same time those things will heal the cause of your skin problem,so ye if u have parasites that are ripping up your gut and u get skin problems adding something HOT to it will make it worse but hey,no pain no gain so eat that garlic,ginger,oregano,basil,kim,onion,chilly,peper,oh and kimchi is a probiotic food right? so theres ur proof probiotic dont have a problem with HOT stuf,and the bad guys do ;). oh and also about the acid food in the video,lemons,lol no they do not cause the problem,again your bad gut health is the problem,ur stomach is VERY ACID,how the hell do u guys think food is being digested,this is pure logic xD but when ur stomach is not in a good shape its not as acid as it should be ( H. pylori bacteria might be the problem) so then when u add acid on a poor sick stomac u end up with angry skin,but in the same time you are killing those parasites,try apple cider after meals.and remember its not the food,its the filth level in our gut,and oh my god our guts today are disgusting...

      Seafood makes my pee and poo smell like it. Fish, lobster, clams, scallops, shrimp, langostinos, doesn't matter, they all cause it. It's awful so I have to just avoid all seafood. 😭Is this an allergy whereas I can't breakdown and digest it? I have the same problem with white vidalia onions and asparagus (my pits wreak the next day from onions other than red) and grape juice makes my pee smell like fish! From what I've read I'm not alone. It's frustrating. I can't eat or drink much of what I like for one reason or another. Nightshades like potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, etc, plus salt, make my joints ache. *sigh*

    Because watermelon is high in salicylates it is best to avoid eating if you have eczema. Anytime I eat more than a thin slice of watermelon on an empty stomach, I start belching. This was my body immediately telling me to avoid watermelon. It took a while for me to figure out the watermelon/salicylate connection and why my body was immediately telling me not to eat more than a thin slice of watermelon.
    Always listen to what your body is telling you. Learn to tell what your body is saying. If you are eating only one type of food on an empty stomach (especially after fasting overnight), and you start burping or belching most likely your body is telling you that this food or the amount of food consummed is not best for your body.

    I really appreciate your video and I'm sure it's gonna work, but sometimes it comes to mind the though: should I really stop eating all these foods? Is it worth? The most of them are so healthy (at least what they doctors say) and they are so tasty. Should I stop for instance eating tomatoes therefore tomato sauce, including soups, spaghetti, salads and all these meals that include tomato sauce? There are so many foods that I should avoid. It's weird and it's make me feel so sad. It also make me feel that I'm different from the other people. It's sounds kinda dramatic but I think that people with eczema know this kind of feeling. Anyway, I just wanted to say my thoughts and say a big thank you for supporting us and giving us hope :)

Also because of stress from raising a toddler and lack of sleep. I get what you mean though but when I actually flare up, I think it is not worth eating them 😆😆😆.

    Your are right, all the taboo food that u mentioned are my favorite.. High heat food. I am suffering from eczema for years. Radises, ginger, chilli, mustard, tomatoes are to be avoided. Even moringa leaves aggravate me.
    And btw I like sour food and eat fermented food frequently. 😔. I guess I have to clam down on that... Yes, in ayurveda too much tamarind is not recommended. TQ for ur post.
    Recently, I am trying out an SOS diet(salt, oil, sugar free diet) , this gonna be shocking for alot of people. I have started to get skin allergy daily, lumps like mosquito bites. Itch like crazy. Since especially the salt free diet, my skin feels much better.
    Those interested can google SOS diet and do your own research.

    • @dawnforlife
      @dawnforlife  3 года назад +1

      Hey..it's not the same thing and in Ayurveda, vinegar is very sour and may trigger itch but I also know a lot of "remedies" which mentioned ACV with baking soda. I've tried them during my healing but it didn't work for me. You could try it and see if you find any improvement. Every body reacts differently and ACV wouldn't do too big of a harm. Make sure it's organic and has what they call "mother".

  • @Taiwaneverything

    Shocking that most of the foods to avoid mentioned here are the ones everyone recommends for a healthy diet. Are these recommendations meant as a temporary solution to get rid of eczema, or are these foods to be avoided forever, cause they will always trigger eczema?
    OK, after reading some comments, this is not meant as a permanent ban on those healthy foods. Let's try it. Oh, boy. Garlic, eggplant, beets, onions, radish, ginger, nuts, tomatoes, citrus fruits, kimchi. First, I will cut out the garlic, ginger, tomatoes, onions, which I eat frequently, and nuts.
    Thanks for this video!

    Hi im new to the channel, I found it interesting that you mentioned meat as being a poor food choice. Based on the paradigm shifting work of many researchers and medical doctors helping patients in supervised medical care, it appears the carnivore diet (meat based) has significantly ameliorated and in some cases fully resolved such autoimmune/inflammatory conditions such as eczema. Have you heard anything of this?

    • @dawnforlife
      @dawnforlife  4 года назад +6

      Hey Austin, no no no, don't get me wrong! hehe I'm not saying meat is a poor food choice. If you've seen my other vids or follow me on instagram, I always advocate for whole foods over processed foods and when it comes to meat, it is important to know where it comes from and how the animals were raised. Organic, free range, grass fed meat are very healthy, depending on our body type.
      As for my own experience, in terms of healing my eczema, I followed the Ayurveda way, where meat is categorised as "heating" and since eczema is also "heating", my experience of avoiding till it is cleared, helped me heal.
      At the end of the day, I think we have stick to what works to heal AND then it is important that we will heal to the level where ALL food groups can be in our diet without problems. Real food of course :)

    • @Withpeace7597
      @Withpeace7597 4 года назад

      Beef, lamb, reindeer and other red meats, as well as pork all make eczema worse. Alternatively, organic and free range TURKEY is shown by doctors trained in BOTH Chinese medicine and western medicine to be ok for people who have eczema. Definitely not cured turkey though - animal based nitrates and nitrites are problematic. (no immediate reference available, but I can look for one...)
      Whole-food, plant based diets are best. Check out nutritionfacts.org.
      Also not mentioned to be beneficial are true whole grains - not previously milled. When the fiber from whole grain reaches the large intestine (colon) they feed good bacteria (probiotic) in the most natural way. You don't need to buy probiotics, your body will do the job by itself. Again, check out Nutritionfacts.org.
