DIET DIET DIET!!! It’s so important and no dermatologist has ever told me this!! I’ve been dealing with eczema all my life and im 29. I just found about this recently after spending so much money on all these medicines like Dupixent and steroid creams. All I did was change my diet and all my rashes are almost gone (been doing this for a month now). I went vegetarian, cut down on sugar to abare minimum and excercised alot to sweat and clean the skin. You don’t need anything else really other than a good lotion to keep your skin soft. I’ve never had so much progress in such little time and all I did was change my eating habits!!!! I encourage anybody suffering with this to try it! It will be hard to adapt to a new diet but if you can do it you can cure it!!! I hope this message gets to anybody who needs it.

Rudi, for what it's worth, your advice helped turn my little boy’s life around. I took Dr. Dray’s product suggestions (because they were immediately available in my local pharmacy) and combined them with your daily routine. Within a couple of weeks, my son’s eczema had almost completely gone away.
It was so bad I thought we were going to have to pull him out of sports and have to put him on steroids. His classmates had started noticing and making comments. It killed me to see him have to go through that. You’ll never fully know how much you've helped us, but you've given my child his normalcy back, and I am truly grateful. Thank you so much and God bless you.

I had eczema since very early childhood. At times it became almost debilitating especially when it involved both of my hands. At one point, I was referred to a dermatologist who lectured me about wasting his time with my eczema and there was nothing that he could do or prescribe. Later on, I discovered a severe allergy to eggs with increasingly more severe allergic reactions. So, I had to remove all eggs from my diet. Some months after this I realized that I had no eczema ANYWHERE for the first time in my life. I long suspected that eczema is an external reaction to something going on inside. Get tested for possible food related allergies or conduct your own elimination of possible culprits. Common food allergies are milk/dairy, wheat or gluten, eggs, nuts, seafood. Mine is eggs. Eczema-free for 15+ years now.

I healed my eczema through healing my gut , sleeping 7 hours of sleep , drinking apple cider vinegar , taking the right vitamins , not stressing so much ! For me, a balanced diet with lots of fermented veggies at first not eating gluten . I also used tea tree oil with a bit of coconut I sea salt with pepermint oil. It took me four months of trial and error , I stopped using lotion, too. At first, I was using all these products, but after 1 month of using them, it wasn't working 😕 so I bought a mugwort with pepermint salve , and it worked like magic , my cuts and the imflammation from my hands went after applying it. Whenever I had eczema, I just applied it on my . I am also mindful of what I eat

ditto on everything you mentioned! thank you for making this video because it is what i’ve been dealing with for the last 5 years. i’ve had eczema since childhood, but it decided to get out of control 5 years ago! the only thing i’d add is that once you get a handle of your skin with a routine, pay attention to the different triggers that cause your skin to get dry in the first place and that’ll be when you’ll need to get ahead before the eczema flares out of control. triggers like the weather, food/skin allergies, stress, etc. my journey included learning that i’m allergic to coconut, aloe, and vitamin e, which are in about 95% of skin products. but learning to read ingredient lists has been my most recent life-saving skill. eczema survivors unite!!

Hello- I’ve been struggling with eczema for about 10 years of my adult life (had bouts as a kid but never too bad). Ive had eczema from head to toe- literally. Ive seen multiple allergists and dermatologist and I feel like I should make my own damn video at this point lol. Anyways, here’s what generally works for me: everything free of dyes, perfumes, etc. For laundry I use arm & hammer detergent that’s free & clear (I’ve tried other brands this one is just really affordable), downy free & clear softener, up & up free & clear dryer sheets. For body care I use Cetaphil gentle soap bar and CeraVe healing ointment immediately after the shower. I have tried a slew of products but these seem to work with me. When it comes to hair care I’ve tried so many things too but currently I’m loving Garnier Fructis’ curly shampoo & conditioner. When I flare-up I use Protopic (generic version is Tacrolimus), I try stay away from steroids as much as possible but I will use on more stubborn flares- as needed. I try to manage my stress (stress can cause flares), and I try to stay away from my allergens; cats & dogs 😭 and a blue dye found in synthetic clothing 🤯, I know (disperse blue dye 106). Anyways, hopes this helps someone.

Every summer I would get Eczema on the back of my neck, none of those creams stopped it from coming back each year. I said to myself I need to try natural, I researched and came across natural castor oil it does every thing and some (don't need all those different creams), I added to it with my own understanding honey (it has natural healing properties), I used Manuka it was grade 250+. I had really bad flare ups on my eyelids, face, neck, stomach, behind my knees and on top of my elbows. All of the dermatologists around my area are booked until April 2023 which is a real struggle. Finding the right products and consistent routine can also be emotionally draining when you’re not seeing results. Thank you for sharing this. I don't normally talk about my eczema, I've had it for 13 years and I went through so many struggles. And even thinking about it makes me cry, let alone talk, so I am proud of you for being so brave and resilient. I couldn't even wear clothes without feeling irritated. And lol I have the same steroid tub. And I've used it almost all over the course of a few years. I knew steroids are harmful so I only used little but at one point I was using more and when I kind of quit, I think I went through tsw but i'm not sure but I was literally dying and somehow recovered without medication except hydroxyzine which I needed to prevent myself from scratching until I bled while I slept. Idk how I survived. Protopics and vaseline and honestly just vaseline by itself. Protopic wasn't helpful. I am now on dupixent and doing much better. I have a lot of hyperpigmentation and I have a deeper skin tone so I am addressing that now. And yessss i relate to the burning your skin part. Your skin looks amazing now and I hope your eczema totally disappears forever and your life to the fullest. Sending you hugs and best wishes.

Mineral salt bath may help a little. I make a excema butter with shea butter, jojoba oil, glycerine, colloidal oat powder for itch. Depending on the person I will use lavender Essential oil that has been scientifically studied for eczema. I personally think detoxing help and stopping gluten and dairy and processed foods/sugar.

I am another eczema victim, but it my case also asmathic since I was a child. Asthma and eczema are "best friends" because you hypersensitive. I put a lot weight during covid and struggled from anxiety, depression and alcohol abuse and things went from bad to worse. However, in summer I was strong enough to carry and and found out that intermitent fasting was very useful focused on a highly veggie diet and a 10-15km walk. I literally felt the effect in less than 1 month and was literally a new man. However, I lost the battle again for many reasons and am really looking to give myself another chance. Trust me, there is nothing worse than having asthma and eczema at the same time. Eczema is probably one of the worst chronic diseases in the world. Good and useful video.

my youngest had nasty eczema, and it usually flared after a "sugar binge". I also found that putting her affected body locations in direct sunlight, I could see almost immediately a change for the better, which led me to believe a possible vitamin D deficiency, as it was worse in winter time with low sunlight exposure...

GIRL, I live in NY, and WINTER IS COMING 😩🥺. My eczema got really bad when COVID hit due to all the gloves and hand sanitizer and Lysol being sprayed everywhere. It broke out all over my body….. I’ve been through several dermatologist, and finally one prescribed me dupixent….. I tried it out but didn’t like it because of constant sticking myself with needles 😂😂😂😂 WE REALLY GO THROUGH IT! As of today I’m clear but as I said winter is coming. Smh so I really thank you for this!!!! Shout out to all my Eczema Warriors! Stay hydrated and Stay moisturized this winter!!!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍

Hope your skin has stayed clear!! I was on Dupixent for about 9 months until my health insurance just decided to stop covering it. However, when I used it I saw results after a couple of days. I had really bad flare ups on my eyelids, face, neck, stomach, behind my knees and on top of my elbows. All the dermatologists around my area are booked up until April 2023 so I’m hoping to push through this winter as well. Stay strong people!!

I think I will buy the cerave moisturizer to test for myself. things I learnt and think is good advice are: eat oily food for your dry skin and anti oxidants food to reduce skin inflammation, eat as less sugar as you can, probiotics can help too but don't rely on them only. keep your routine.

Things that I've found help me, even if I still have Eczema today, it's nowhere as itchy as it used to - I've been off steroids for 2 years now, and I have never learned so much about Eczema since I stopped using that ' easy ' solution (which as you clearly say, is not really a solution on the long term! and Yes, that steroid tub is MASSIVE, I would have a panic attack🤣) :
    - Making my own laundry with marseille olive oil soap and bicarbonate of sodium. Adding an essential oil of your choice if you want, whatever your skin can handle.
    - Cotton only wardrobe (for the tops, jeans etc are fine for me personally)
    - Getting a lot of sleep (at least 9, sometimes even 10 hours)
Taking enough breaks during the working day.
    - Spending time outside, walking, cycling.
    - Vitamine D supplement + Probiotic
    - Paying attention to what I eat in general - for example, I notice that I feel itchy after having eaten things like tomatoe sauce from the shop! Or sometimes something too sweet, like crumble or fruit juice. I suppose this all comes down to sugar.
    - Drinking enough water during the day! No alcohol, which I find quickly dehydrating. And again, that sugar...
    - Washing my face only with cold water and Aloe Vera shampoo (I love Dr. Organic brand!) Never using the shower head on my face, it's too strong. Only at the sink, using my hands.
And when taking a shower, using "low-mode" hose.
For the body, I use Tea Tree Shampoo from Dr Organic. It has a very nice cooling effect.
I know Dr Organic also has Aloe Vera/Tea tree body wash but I haven't tried these yet. I initially used the shampoos for my hair, and realised it works well for my skin also!
    - Shea & Cocoa Butter from the Fushi brand has been a blessing.
    - Aloe vera gel
    - Keeping track of my menstrual cycle: I know there are sensitive times when my skin will be more inflamed, but thanks to an app I can see what part of my cycle I'm on and understand better why it's flaring without any apparent reason - I find that ovulation is usually a tricky time. Ah, hormones! I got off the contraceptive pill for that reason also, because I suspected that it was drying my skin even more and I wanted my body the chance to heal without interference. But to each their own choice.
You are brave that you have gone back to a dermatologist. I have been very disappointed in how limited our medicine is, especially how Eczema is seen as a skin condition, when it's so much more.
Good luck to all the Eczema warriors out there!

I haven’t finished this video, but I am SO glad I stumbled on this video. My go to when I get eczema around my mouth is just to put the steroid cream on because it sometimes works, but usually doesn’t make my eczema worse on my body, and I just want it to go away. Recently (I’m blaming an infection I got for this because I’ve been on antibiotics for about a month and my immune system has been fighting this instead of the eczema) I’ve gotten eczema EVERYWHERE. I have eczema on my back, stomach, sides, places where there are no folds of skin. Anyways. I had no clue there was such a thing as eczema body wash!

ACV 50/50 with water and it does help I just started 1 week ago. Hope this helps. I also heard that we need to fix our gut issues first then all else will follow. I will start with probiotics for my gut hope it works! I'm exhausted with this eczema.

The instructions said to avoid healthy skin . It did not mention to make sure to wash my hands after , or how often to use it so i would use it every day .
Long story short avoid steroids as much as you can . The treatment that has given me the best results is cold showers , lots of sunlight , soaking in salt water and Vaseline on the red areas .

Had eczema for years mostly induced due to an anti fungal topical cream. Steroids used to just work as long as they were applied and then symptoms used to get back within no time. Was using them occasionally. Had finally given up when the use of steroids started causing the eczema to flare-up like crazy. Coming across this video was certainly a game changer. Having tried so much until then, I found no harm in trying this out. So, just a regular use of CeraVe Moisturizer worked wonders for me repairing my skin to an extent where I do not even have to rely on it anymore.
Definitely worth a try. To be noted is the fact I never had acquired eczema by birth, rather as an unfortunate side effect. So, not sure whether a moisturizer could entirely address the root cause in other cases as there could be more to it that may require something more than a mositurizer.
    Thanks a ton!

Get y’all some of that aveeno eczema itch relief balm and put it on your red, irritated spots. Wait for it to dry and soak in and then apply your steroid over top using as little of it as you can. Then apply your lotion over that to lock it in. I had a nasty red area on my stomach and I got the redness down in about 3-4 days using the steroid mostly at night. It still hurts a bit, but the area isn’t red anymore so I’ve discontinued the steroid as it causes me pain at tbks point. But the aveeno balm is the truuuuth! Also the first aid beauty ultra repair cream works to calm itching. I love that stuff so much. It’s expensive though. But yeah get yourselves the balm. It’s lovely. Not 100 percent, but infinitely better than scratching and leaving scars

So many infections, bubbles, sores, flaking, leaking.....I used to be on steroids but i cant stay on them for long and I worry about long term effects so I've been avoiding going back on them. My eczema is multiple kinds in one so if it's dry, it gets irritated. If it hydrates from anything even oatmeal creams, it gets irritated. I know oatmeal baths or bleach baths work for some people and I'm willing to give those a whirl. I hope those help because I don't want to take auto immune supressors. I'll definitely try your routine and pray it works.

It's a condition for the rest of our lives, but we can make the time between the crisis go longer and longer.

    Great video!
After an allergic reaction to the Portland cement in tile grout during two DIY bathroom remodels I had chronic and worsening eczema on my hands and wrists that lasted for several years, with frequent cycles of itchy, thickened, peeling, & cracked skin. None of the dozens of OTC remedies I tried provided enough relief or stopped the intense inflammation.
“Clean beauty” and “natural” products usually made it worse - especially those with essential oils!
Eventually, I saw a dermatologist and when the first steroid prescribed didn’t make a dent in the problem, I was prescribed a strong steroid ointment (halobetasol) that I applied (per Dr instructions) before bed with (occlusive) exam gloves on my hands over the steroid ointment to increase the medication’s effectiveness and to keep the ointment on my hands and off the bed linens.
During the day I avoided or minimized soap use (dermatologist recommended Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser instead - I carry a trial size in my purse for use in public restrooms bc the anti microbial soaps provided dry out and strip my skin barrier). And I applied Cerave moisturizing cream or Ceramedx cream several times a day and always after washing hands, showering, etc. creams and lotions that contain ceramides are critical to successful eczema treatment, because the natural ceramides (lipids) in the skin barrier are inadequate in eczema.
Every time I washed dishes or or other household tasks that involved getting my hands wet, I wore Playtex Living gloves (deluxe version, with fold back cuff to prevent drips going in the gloves). Within two weeks I saw considerable improvement in my symptoms. I gradually backed off using the steroid ointment at night and replaced it with Vanicream Moisturizing Ointment (new name for the same ointment with dimethicone that was former.y called Vaniply Ointment). I also switched from wearing exam gloves to white cotton gloves over the generous ointment or thick cream at bedtime.
I also became a Dr Dray RUclips video watcher and started focusing on protecting my skin barrier with ceramide containing products, such as Cerave, etc. I also like lightweight products with high dimethicone amount, such as Gloves in a Bottle, which is popular with medical and restaurant workers who have to frequently wash their hands.
It’s been a few years and my hands are well healed, though I occasionally have slight flare ups if I slack off my hand cream and Playtex glove habits. At the first sign of dryness, itching, red or slightly bumpy skin rashes between my fingers or on my palms, I double down on my good habits, generous moisturizing cream applications, or even a couple nights with the steroid ointment & white cotton glove treatment.
I cautiously have used alcohol hand sanitizers since 2020 when it’s been prudent in public places, etc., but always follow right up with a generous moisturizing cream with ceramides application (excess wiped with a paper towel).

I am new to eczema. It only started after I had my fifth Moderna booster vaccination, also had a clot in my left leg. Then followed eczema on the same leg. No one diagnosed this condition for four months? Only after seeing a private doctor it was confirmed. I even had a spell in hospital and confirmed two others with the same condition. Both had the vaccination. So this is a side effect from the vaccination. If anyone out there has an itchy rash after having the vaccination then there is a good chance that you now have eczema and contact your doctor straight away in UK.

I really appreciate your recommendations. I have suffered from very dry skin (not eczema) since young, but did not know this until my adulthood and have had some bouts of eczema and extremely dry scalp as an adult. I have even had eczema in my ears. I now have children with varying, yet fairly mild forms of eczema that we've been able to keep under control. I have been researching and looking for something for my daughter with eczema that recurs quite regularly around her eyes and on her eyelid. When it's been bad it will break the skin, cause bleeding, spread to her mouth area, and anything you put on it will feel like and even sometimes burn the skin. There's things like aquaphor ointment that I've used on the kids other body parts with extremely dry skin or eczema that make her eyelids sore. So I thank you for the recommendation on the facial spray. I hope it will help it to not recur. A steroid cream is the only thing that helps when it flares up which is totally not a good thing to be using by the eyes. Now that her eyelid situation is under control, as soon as a spot of eczema comes back a tiny bit of steroid cream will vanish it away in one treatment and keep it at bay for weeks at a time. Other things we use are humidifiers in winter, aquaphor on hands with gloves at bedtime, aquaphor on face before going out in cold winter winds, making sure to keep the face very clean especially after windy beach trips and sand/dirt gently washed in just warm water on a washcloth, and we use Vanicream lotions which a free of all the junk. I have tried Cicaplast balm by La Roche Posay and had success with stubborn dry spots in my ears and on my neck. We also use very gentle sunblock especially on the daughter with facial eczema such as La Roche Posay Anthelios Melt in Milk. I have extremely sensitive skin and this sunblock irritates my skin very little. Usually I breakout with most sunblock use. I wish I would've understood my skin when I was a child because I think I would've had a lot less breakouts and negative reactions to treating my persistent acne as well..

i’m going through a rough patch with my eczema journey and just knowing that others are/have been going through this too just warms my heart. if i may ask, how long did you use these creams before seeing results? i’ve had eczema for a while over my whole body and i just wanted to see if this step by step tips would help me with my journey so since two days ago i’ve bought the cerave moisturising cream and i’ve tried it on my hands and so far i haven’t seen any big differences, my skin is still extremely red so i was just wondering how long it would take before seeing massive results.

I keep regular cerave lotion in the fridge. The cooling sensation helps against itch without the need of any active ingredients, but only if it's a mild flare. I do use steroids if the itch worsens but most time it doesn't

Same here man. Rashes, perioral dermatitis, horrible hormonal acne. I just started using the SLMD sensitive acne line by Dr Sandra Lee and i think I finally found something that works. The main active is a leave on sulfur lotion. It’s the only acne skincare routine I have tried that doesn’t seem to irritate my skin further and I’m so relieved to see it finally healing...

I feel so seen. I have struggled with my eczema for years. It started in college, before that was just nail biting. My skin on my face, at the corners, on my neck is healing from eczema at the moment. Same with right above my lip. My hands are also crazy dry. The other day I put on two moisturizers and one on top of the other made my hands burn that I had to wash them with soap and just use one. Definitely have had to go through so many products that claim to work but just don't. So helpful to have this list!

Borage oil worked for me. Open up a cap and rub it on affected areas. Anything with GLA helps, Borage is highest. Sun also helps. Steroid cream made the eczema go away but pop up in other places. Plus it thins skin over time.

I`m curious to know if you have looked into the foods you eat. I did an elimination diet to find out if I had any clear allergies, well apparently I do not, but it was worth it anyway. I have changed what foods I eat and cut sugar and carbohydrates by at least 50%, my skin issues and arthritis have improved. I hope this idea can help you or someone else.

let me share my journey to CONTROL my eczema after more than 40 years of suffering. after my shower, i quickly rubbed a generous amount of store bought aloe vera gel (i got mine from the body shop) before applying my body butter (my fave - the body shop argan body butter). to seal in all the goodness, i applies a mixture of my own diy sunflower, grapeseed and coconut oil concoction all over my skin. been eczema free for almost a year now!

I’ve always had eczema on the crooks on my arms and legs. It was always manageable, but annoying. However, in the past month my eczema has just exploded. The entire top half of my body is completely covered with eczema. It’s dry, it oozes, and it’s so unbearably itchy. What’s helping for me is showering, then using argan oil, then vanicream, then eucerin, and finally aquaphor. It’s really time-consuming, annoying, and greasy but at least takes the itch away in the day. At night though, I’m forced to use Benadryl to sleep. If you have any tips let me know!

When you brought up the big tub of steriod cream.... GIRL you don't know how much I related to that. I remember when my dermatoligist perscribed me that and I was so suprised at how huge that thing was but it did work for me back in high school until one day I had the urge to scratch and I did and well.... Yeah.
I've suffered from eczema since I was about 10 or 12. I'm 20 now and its still a reoccuring issue. Because of eczema its made me very insecure and unsure of myself because of how ugly it looks on my skin. I was young then so I couldn't invest into other forms of treatment that aren't bound to a doctors perscription but now as a working adult i've invested into cerave and so far their goated.
I'm investing into the cerave body wash and soon the moisturizer as you reccomend to see how things will go. I use cerave hydrocortisone cream which helps with an eczema rash or breakout and its king. I'm gonna start invest more into certain cerave products and with consistent use hopefully my ugly scarred eczema will go away one day.
People really don't understand how bad and uncomfortable eczema is unless they deal with it themselves. Its not pretty. Especially when its inflamed OH GOD its some of the worst days I've had.
Thanks for this vid sweetheart. I'm glad to see a video of someone who relates to this annyoing ass condition. And thanks for the reccomendations as well.

It’s amazing to hear another persons story about their eczema. It’s so similar to mine! I only started getting it in my teens and have struggled with it since. It’s so hard to get it right with steroids too. I will be trying your tips and hope it makes a difference! Hopefully I won’t have to resort to steroids anymore. I know a big game changer for me too was applying lotion to wet skin, it definitely helps lock in moisture throughout the day. My biggest struggle is moisturizing every single day because it’s time consuming and I’ve gotten in the routine of only moisturizing after showering/ bathing. I am going to try the body wash too I think that would help me a lot. Im wondering if anyone else has tried taking antihistamines? I was told to try them and I know it helps me from flaring up with eczema when something irritates my skin like pet dander or dust.

Hi there! I was prescribed an antihistamine called hydroxyzine and it really does help with the itch. However, it made me really drowsy and I could barely do anything throughout the day because of how sleepy I was, so I just had to stop using it. Now I just use an ice pack if the itch gets out of control and then follow it up with a moisturizer to lock in the dampness from the ice pack.
