    I have used every single one of these products… tried eating gluten free, tried dupixent, methotrexate, adbury, nothing has worked. Eczema is the most frustrating thing I’ve ever experienced. You would think after having it my entire life (25 years) it would get easier, but it doesn’t. I was prescribed steroids my entire life without doctors telling me it should not be used on my face or should not be used for a long period of time. I experienced topical steroids withdrawal. I am going to be starting rinvoq next week… I hope this one works fingers crossed!

    Cetaphil actually has some pretty decent body washes, even the salicylic acid one is very hydrating & moisturizing. They just don't lather, which is off-putting for some.

    So this was it? For years I have been having eyelid dermatitis and contact dermatitis on my neck and chest, and doctors kept shaming me and saying i have poor hygiene when i am the person in the family who showers most often. It was just eczema? And all these dermatologists did not know? Insane. Though it makes sense, I am also developing allergies that I did not have before.

    • @jrs2024
      @jrs2024 5 дней назад

      Hi. Same here. Shame on the doctors for shaming! 😑 I think in peri, actual, or post-menopause, (sorry idk your gender or age, I don’t need to know either), the entire body goes through major changes, but I haven’t yet heard dermatologists address this factor. Anyway, what works for your eczema? In addition to diet edits, & using NEA-labeled cleansers & moisturizers (or recommended products from Derms), I now take an allergy pill daily, from the first winter flair-up, through my allergy pollen season. 👍🏼

    • @tibo6749
      @tibo6749 5 дней назад +1

      @jrs2024 allergy pills help a lot. Besides that, I moisturise a lot. Vaseline is always safe. I also change my clothes often, don't let sebum build up a lot because I found out that my own skin oils irritate me. I do end up with very dry skin... But at least I can solve the dryness issue by moisturising, and be irritation free. Mostly.

      Ethyl, methyl and propyl parabens (I call them the wicked paraben sisters) are preservatives which are NOT healthy for your skin especially if you are allergic to them, which I am. Avoid them at all costs which is difficult because they are in almost everything!!! Use coconut oil and castor oil (for hair and skin) instead.

    • @hyunnieo60

      late response, but if you have an eczema + dry & sensitive skin combo like me, i use the cerave hydrating cleanser. it tingles my skin a little sometimes, which idk if that’s bad or not, but i’ve been using it for a long time and it’s hydrates my face. just make sure you pair the right things with it, or it’ll have that tingly sensation.

    I am very disappointed in Cetaphil. I bought one bc it said fragrance free but I went online and researched every ingredient and at least four ingredients are scents. Explains why my face goes red after I use it. Now I’m looking for Vanicream in stores but no luck yet as their ingredients are much better.

      My skin is sensitive with rosacea. I have several favorites that I've been using for years - Neutrogena Ultra Creamy fragrance free cleanser, Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion and SPF 30 - this sunscreen is lightweight and fragrance free, a nice matte finish without the white cast 😊

    • @dccd673
      @dccd673 5 месяцев назад

      @@champagenroses I will look for Vanicream sunscreen next time I head south of the border. I’m in Canada and we don’t have Vanicream in stores here. Sucks. Luckily I bought two cleansers and a moisturizer I use daily. My skin is very happy with it. Couldn’t find any other Vanicream products though. I’ve tried Neutrogena but my face still reacts. I don’t even order Vanicream from Amazon anymore after the first time bc the price doubled since then. I’m just glad I’m not far from the nearest store that sells them.

      @@dr.jennyliugreat options! I find eczema products are terrific for my dry skin - and I don’t have eczema!
      My two cents about shampoos: though I live by Vanicream’s cleanser (can be drying) and the cream for my face and body (I am dry/super sensitive)…sadly, their shampoo dried out my scalp, turned my hair to straw and is not suitable for color-treated hair. I know everybody is different. Hope others have better results. It’s very hard to find a fragrance-free shampoo that does it all. I think I need to invent one.

  • @SandiTink
    @SandiTink Год назад

    Daily use of any mineral sunscreen causes eczema on my neck that clears up when I stop using it. And I have to alternate brands daily or my neck gets annoyed.
    There is no product I’ve found that I can use twice a day on my face or neck. For a short time, I can use separate morning and night routines on a daily basis while my skin barrier recovers. As soon as it’s okay again, it’s back to having to alternate products daily or my skin barrier starts being compromised. I have an absurd amount of skincare as a result.
    My skin has always been difficult and has become more difficult as I’ve aged. It baffles dermatologists.
