I recently made a Paula's Choice order and I was offered a free gift. I chose the lip moisturizer. So far I'm really enjoying it. Not sure if I'll purchase it when this is gone because it's so expensive for a lip product.
I use the L’Oreal Revitalift 10% Glycolic acid serum on my lips two nights a week - when I am also using it on my face, instead of the tretinoin which I use the other 5 nights.
I only have a dry and cracked bottom lip. I suspect this is possibly due to me occasionally licking food/drink remnants off my lips instead of reaching for a napkin like a normal person as I don't typically lick my top lip. The bottom lip usually starts peeling from the sides the next day.
I'll have to get me a chemical exfoliation for my lips. I am a lip licker and get the red dry skin around my lips which is annoying and can be a little painful if I keep licking. I love aquaphor but I do find it doesn't do it's best when I still have dry flakes and I've been physically exfoliating but I'll try the other as to hopefully not irritate it so much. But yes I stand by aquaphor. Very moisturizing and doesn't further irritate. In fact it almost feels soothing
Have you tried LANSINOH lanolin ointment? It's a product used to soothe and heal sore, dry, cracked nipples when breastfeeding, but it also works well to heal dry lips! I alternate with a regular lip balm. One thing to note, is that it is a little sticky, so I prefer to use it at night before bed. (It's very similar to Vaseline or Aquaphor, but thicker.) It's also a great lip protectant when out in the cold. I wouldn't be without it! You can find it in the baby supply aisle (comes in purple tube). Hope this helps! : )
I hear nipple ointment is a great product so maybe i'll look into it :) I'm a mom but never had to use the ointment so never had a chance to try it as a lip balm. thank you @@michellekelly2937
My lips have been discolored for a while I'm African American male dark with dark spots I've been trying to get rid of for a while I'm pretty attractive but can't be as confident as I would like with this problem PLEASE HELP
Ma'am i have dry and cracking lips once i have used a lip balm containing castor oil, coconut oil, wheat germ oil etc and then my lips got swollen and it took 1 month to become normal, from then i stopped using lipbalm can u suggest me a lipbalm
My 4 year old daughter has had dry lips for a good while. We have used Vaseline and Chapstick products. Recently though her bottom lip has been bleeding simply after brushing her teeth. Her lips look so damaged and i know she has a tick on picking on them. Her pediatrician recommended Neosporin. Should I use anything else? How do i help them heal?
@lalomtz84 this sounds weird but diaper rash cream is a godsend. There's a dermatologist on RUclips that I can't spell her name but I think it's shreene idriss, ik I spelled it wrong anyway I had some sort of severe dryness going on with cracks I think because I was so sick but I swear the results I saw in 24hrs was so impressive that I kept using it and 3 days later completely healed. I use the boudreauxs butt paste but any will do fine as long as it has zinc oxide in it. Ik she uses it on top of a chemical exfoliatiant which I didn't and you shouldn't on you're daughters lips either due to her age and because her lips are so cracked, anyway sorry for the long response hopefully it helps. P.s. it also great on skin anywhere, I use it on my face from time to time
Hello doctor As said by you I had symptoms like lip lickers dermatitis. Had treatment on that but it converted into a picture you shown on allergic dermatitis (somewhat like it) Now I am having a treatment on this from 2019 and now I have only extreme dry and chapped lips. I need to put lip moisturizer in every 2-3 hrs Can you please suggest anything on this.
@dr.jennyliu hi. Can you give me any advice. I have chronic dry lower lip. I watch what toothpaste i use and defo no sls. I use fragrance free lip products. I use aquaphor lip balm and vaseline. Do have another stick with a mix of balm and glycolic acid. I have sjogrens so this canbeffect the lips and i have a very dry mouth. Can u please tell me what else i can use. I get a very thick skin that prevents my lip from flexing. This can usually be removed daily. But my lips are then tender and vunerable. Please help
good morning..mam.. i am 20 years old... i have receding temple hair... patches.. both side... so what should i do... avoid shampoo or not.. because . when i use shampoo it can cause hairfall
I have been really good about using lip SPF from Sun Bum, but now I’ve been diagnosed with a contact allergy to propolis and have been told to avoid beeswax, fragrance, and flavor ingredients. Can you (or any other viewers) recommend an SPF lip product that is mineral only and free of beeswax, fragrance, and flavors?
Sorry to hear that have you tried vanicream? Can’t guarantee they are devoid of all those ingredients off the top of my head but if you had this diagnosis by a derm you should have gotten a CAMP list of products you can use
@@dr.jennyliuthank you so much for responding! It looks like the Vanicream SPF lip balm would be perfect, but I think it may have been discontinued! I will keep looking for places to buy it though. My dermatologist did give me a list of products I can use, but it doesn’t include any mineral SPF products for lips, except the Vanicream one. There are a few SPF sticks, so maybe I can try one of those. It’s a little awkward to apply to the lips in public, but I’m ok with that 😆
My lips have been perpetually dry and chapped since quarantine. I'm going to watch this very attentively!

It never occurred to me to use petrolatum on top of lip balm as opposed to using one or the other. I'll have to try this!
I never knew this either I'll have to do the same

The lip balm by La Roch Posay that you’re talking about isn’t the Nutrinic one, it’s the Cicaplast one. And it is great!
They do have a nutritic one that’s great as well. both are nice for dry and chap lips
Yes but it says in the video Nutrinic lip balm with a photo of the Cicaplast lip balm
Which one would you say is better?
I've been using AmLactin 12% lotion for exfoliation. Thank you so much for pointing out the differences between the various occlusives.
You are so welcome!
Good afternoon, I hope you are well. What is the best lip sunscreen or most effective one ?
Love your video. Would you please discuss or recommend a moisturizer that helps with the lines above the lips?? Thanks! ❤
Thanks a lot Doc❤may God reward you abundantly

I love it too
@@dr.jennyliuI use a moist wash cloth to exfoliate my lips.
Yes!!
I have not found anything that works better than the Nivia chapstick in the blue container. Even more expensive brands don't come close.

I have developed suddenly an allergy to lipstick. Could it be due to dry lips? do you know of a non allergenic lipstick? Thx
I am having the same issue. It could also be that your lipstick has expired.
Excellent content

Try the Nivia lip balm. I had chronically chapped lips, and it's the only thing that works. Aquaphor didn't even work.

You should get it looked by a local dermatologist too or get more opinions if you aren't sure about the solution.
