100% agree! You made a perfect analogy.
For myself, I developed severe hand eczema at 35yrs old with zero previous history. After desperately searching for solutions and even trying western medicine “treatments”, I found huge relief from an elimination diet (specifically a carnivore diet). However after 3 months, I had been able to stop the itching and inflammation but my skin was still dry. The missing part for me was supporting my detox pathways, as I came to find out I have MTHFR and MTTR variants that influence my detoxing more than others. For full resolution, I incorporated these things:
1.) Nighttime castor oil pack over my liver with a heat pad in it - every night
2.) Every morning dry brushing to move lymphatic fluid
3.) taking a high quality probiotic like Smidge or SFI Ther-Biotic LactoPlus Prime and homemade fermented sauerkraut (homemade and 24hr ferment is optimal or Bubbie brand pickles/kraut)
4.) Enemas - I did 1-2 times a week and used a high quality coffee like Purity, but you can just use warm water with a little salt or baking soda or clay
5.) Dealing with past grief - I hadn’t been aware that the grief I had experienced after multiple miscarriages had transformed into a shopping addiction. Everything I would buy or research was about becoming a mother, healing myself, and stuffing a hole I could never fill. Going to a grief counselor transformed my life, and becoming aware of the behaviors I had developed surrounding shopping to cope with that grief has helped me more forward in a more positive way
While you may not have grief, there may be other unresolved trauma or self esteem issues etc that can benefit from a deep dive and addressing for a more complete healing.
I can say that after a nearly 5 year battle with very severe hand eczema, I no longer have it and these specific steps were the key to my success. I can now eat a wider variety of food, but prefer to keep it more ancestral animal based because of the nutrients and how I feel - I don’t believe you have to do this component - but eliminating processed and ultra processed junk and excess sugar consumption is vital for long term health besides healing eczema.
    Thank you!

In the meantime her doctors say that it's basically normal to develop water allergy and similar symptoms in her age and with every visit she gets a new product and no further insight or advice. Now we will take the matter in our own hands with dietary change, eastern medicine etc., thank you for the video.

Eczema can trigger from so many thing's, everyone is different, we could spend hours talking about it. I'm 41 and started getting Eczema on side of stomach 2 months ago. I was diagnosed with another auto immune disease a year prior which was definitely long term stress related, so now this, but I'm told if you get one auto immune disease, your prone to another.

I always was told my exczema would dissapear. To this day I have the same problems as a child. Ruff, dry or raw skin very itchy. Ive formed a habit of biting my nails so I don't scratch. I do "even though I shouldn't" take EXTREMELY HOT showers to sooth it. Most people will understand this takes the pain away but makes your skin worse. My diet is ridiculous because I work all over the place and it's quick and easy. I struggle to live right now, never mind get all the things I need. I'm a smoker because of the stress I've endured over the years. I found your channel and I'm ready to take serious steps. I'm 26 and I have always been the same shy, very quiet person. In the end it's pretty easy.
      1. Eat only meat.
      2. Drink only water.
      3. Use hypoallergenic shampoos / soap / laundry detergent.
This is what everyone can try for a few days to start with and eczema will have calmed down.
Then add stuff to the food.
      Personally for me this work.
I also would say main things to never consume are gluten, eggs, all fruits, for me personally at least.
And one other thing that actually might be the worst of them all is citric acid, if I eat anything with citric acid in it it's a guaranteed sleepless night because of itching

I completely agree with you 100% on how in the modern age, health and nutrition has been leaning towards unnatural ways. The food industry provides an endless amount of highly processed foods that are easily accessible to anyone, yet are toxic to our bodies. Pharmaceutical industries are mostly there to sell their products whilst not tackling the root causes of people’s diseases. It’s quite sad how we are turning away from our traditional and natural ways that our ancestors has worked so hard to cultivate for thousands of years for the sake of choosing convenience. Although science has made progress in learning about various diseases, there should also be room to advocate for the larger benefits of natural medicine. If only money wasn’t the driving force of these companies, everyone would have been awakened by now. There is a reason why the oldest people, such as the centenaries in Japan, are living so long. They just seem to know what they’re doing, look at their diet and see!

I've had eczema all my life. I was born with it. I'm now 64 years old. I went to all kinds of allergists and dermatologists during my lifetime to really no avail. Not sure if diet has ever been an issue. Using strong detergents and soaps will cause breakouts from hell. A doctor told me once, I guess with my situation that it was caused by mold or dust mites. He suggested a good air filter. It went away for the first time in my life for 7 years, no trace. All of a sudden it's back. Just shows you how unpredictable and frustrating eczema is.

Also have to eat or do activities that makes my blood circulation run better to help the metabolism of my body. And the eczema disappeared. I notice that I will get eczema back when I eat a lot of sushi and icecream 😅 but you know, those are hard to cut out sometimes. We can start with a different more natural immunising system in mind which could be as simple as everything we eat has been grown properly and naturally which boosts up the immune system. And more natural cannabis treatments as we have cannabis receptors in our bodies. Yes our bodies actually want cannabis and are ready to work with it. That's why it stays in your system the longest on the roadside test which is testing for alcohol and other substances. Your body kicks alcohol out the quickest as it is actually the worst fir you, so all those wine heads that look at weed people like big druggies need to be educated correctly. Cannabis stays in our systems for 2 weeks because it is most welcome. Our bodies are amazing and react to what we do. I will never ever donate to Any Cancer charities ever again. I just found your videos about eczema few days ago and very happy to watch this new video as well. I am suffering from eczema for two years now and doctor just gave me steroid and anti itchy pills, of course it didn’t heal my eczema from truly inside, What you have talked in those video convinces me to try what you recommend. I ordered the probiotic, surprisingly it is made by Japanese doctor so I am Japanese but didn’t know him and his product! I hope the product matches my body. I disagree that eczema is not a skin problem. My breastfed infant got eczema. The dermatologist gave my baby a low potency steroid. I was scared when i saw how it all cleared up in less than a week. But i realised i cannot give her steroid all the time. It will lead to more diseases in the future. Hence i began my experiments. Of course my baby was breastfed. My experiments taught me to keep my baby's skin hydrated during the dry seasons. India being a tropical country we sweat a lot. So i kept her in AC during hot temp because she developed eczema only in those places where she perspired. I bathed her in neem water which cleared up her eczema in a week without any medicine at all. I massaged her with neem, olive, coconut oil mixed together when i didn't have neem water. Changing her detergent, or wearing only cotton clothes, or switching to cloth diaper didn't work either. I just had to be careful with what is ON her skin which can trigger her eczema. After months of such experiments she was eczema free as long as i kept her skin clean & hydrated. Just one mistake on my side could trigger her eczema & it did happen. But now since i know how to control it I'm not scared anymore. So i learnt that it's a skin problem of not a skin disease. As long as I avoid triggers she's fine..She eats & drinks everything.

Hey Dawn! Thank you for another great video on products that can be used with eczema or things to avoid....
I have a question as someone who has:
    - sensitive skin
    - skin that is especially thin on my cheeks
    - whole face and neck area are in a constant state of dry, cracking and flaky
What's a good ALTERNATIVE for Vaseline in the WINTER (When I wake up in the morning, everything is overly dry and I don't use a heater or anything).
I used to use a cortisone ointment especially on the are between my nose and lips as it has always been a problem area, but I stopped using that and turned to coconut oil and vaseline, but I know vaseline is bad... just don't know what to use that can last through the night so that my skin isn't painfully dry and cracking.
BTW I have started a gut health diet, so this is more for in the mean time while my body fixes itself. 😊
    Thank you for reading 🙏

Heyyy I'm so sorry to hear that you are suffering with eczema! Our bodies are under quite some stress trying to grow a healthy baby and that can sometimes make it harder to detox.
I was already completely healed when I got pregnant so I'd say focus more on quality of food instead of what to eat. We don't want you to miss out on important nutrients to grow your precious one. So, the least processed the better. Home cooked meals with high quality (organic meat/eggs when possible or at least animals that get fresh air aynd be outside at least a few hours a day, or whatever best you can get), no msg, eat a variety of fruits and veggies. I think papaya, some watermelon, beetroot, pumpkin are all great choices. Reduce tomatoes, brinjal or you can still try and see how you feel. For me, tomatoes are not my friend when I had eczema. Ah so much to share..if I can make a video on something more specific, let me know. I'll try to make it happen.
All the best and congratulations on your pregnancy! :)

Ow yes, Sister; just like any auto-immune condition (rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc...), some kinds of depression and even Parkinson's, the origin of the problem is not on the spot where it manifests, but elsewhere, like you say in the gut. Leaky gut condition is the cause. The only doctors who approach the problem this way are practitioners of Functional Medicine. My question: why it is always people with great (inner) beauty who get into this kind of mess ?

Everyone take this with a grain of salt please, its true that skin rashes can develop internally, but for a lot of people it is a skin problem where the skin can't hold moisture and becomes dry and cracks. When that happens your skin is vulnerable to anything and everything. Don't use lotion instead use heavy moisturizer creams like cerva or repcillian, and use vaseline lock it in. To say that all rashes on the skin develop from the gut is foolish and disproven by the fact that you can rashes through: bug bites, posion ivy, dry skin. External or Internal

    • @dawnforlife
      @dawnforlife  3 года назад +4

I see where you are coming from but I don't think I mention all skin rashes because obviously there are external causes like you mentioned. However, from my experience, long term use of external moisturiser is pretty much useless if internally is not taken care of. I agree with you to take everything with a grain of salt because everyone's healing journey is different. Thanks for your input nevertheless. :)

Can you develop atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis and dyshidrotic eczema all at the same time? Because I did. I have eczema on the back of my thighs which are darkened now from itching and they say too much use of steroid creams. I developed it since childhood. And up until now, I still get them especially during my period. I feel extremely insecure about it because of the hyperpigmentation, that I couldn’t wear a bikini.
Then I have seborrheic dermatitis which started during highschool. I thought it was only a dandruff problem but I noticed that they doesn’t itch that much and are much smaller than actual dandruff. I think the culprit was those chemicals in permanent hair straighteners that I used during middle school 🙈 Now I am suffering from extremely flaky scalp. And just recently at age 25, I developed dyshidrotic eczema. I haven’t been diagnosed because I don’t want to use creams for it anymore provided by dermatologists, but I figured it is dyshidrotic eczema since it developed rough patches and blisters on the top of my foot in between my toes. Anyone know why am I suffering from all these types of eczema at once? Is this some kind of major of health related problems? Thanks!

Avocados for healthy fats, bananas and all types of fruits should do good for her. If she is breastfeeding, maybe watch your diet too. If she is not, consider organic (raw when possible and heated just to almost boiling) goat's milk instead of cow's.

Leaky gut doesn't exist. It's a pseudo science fib, don't let anyone tell you it's real. You might want to watch the Jilly Juice series, it kind of catalogues the silliness of leaky gut

Carbohydrates, fructose (which is a carbohydrate but I mention it explicitly because it's especially evil), alcohol, high processed foods, vegetable oils - avoid all of these! Even if you don't suffer with eczema.

My sister is 10 year old, she was diagnosed with eczema and her allergic report says her all pannel are positive and dr said she need to go with only a particular food habbit. Then someone suggested us for homeopathic treatment which was claimed to be cure her but It made the situation worsen up. Her skin became black and shading continuously so we returned to allopathic treatment. Dr gave her some injection, then diff dr were suggesting diff therapies then we follow the one who said that the suppress her immune system because it's hyperactive. How long did it take you on the clean diet and following the whole regimen to Heal from eczema? And after healing, how often are you able to eat meat, dairy, gluten, etc. without eczema coming back?

It was very gradual and after my skin healed in about 4-5 months, it took a total of three years to be not so sensitive. I can eat everything now and like I said in this video, if you can get good quality dairy/meat/properly prepared grains, you can still eat them moderately. Bone broth from a good source is good, a little meat ok too.

Hi Dawn, thank you for this explanation. How did you cope with the itchiness and what was your healing story, was healing up and down? Did you get flare ups during healing?
Also when you mention the fish tank analogy, to detox did you do any types of fasting or enemas etc to clear out your gut it did you just use diet?
Sorry for all the questions but l am in the healing process.. lm currently covered in excema and so tempted to use steroid creams the doctors insist on but l am really trying to refrain and be strong.
    Thank you
