If you use distilled water and distilled white vinegar, the product will last for 1-2 months. You can also add a dispersant to the blend which causes the essential oils and water to homogenize. Simply add to your beaker the essential oils and add in the same amount of dispersant. Mix well. Finally add the dispersant and essential oil blend with the water/vinegar mixture and mix well so all ingredients integrate. An Australian Essential Oil Company "Springfields" sells an essential oil dispersant. Other dispersants are Polysorbate 20, Polysorbate 80 (mainly used for skin care, baths products, etc), Quinessence's Solubuiliser and Solubol. A good natural preservative that will allow your product to last up to 6 months is Potassium sorbate. Potassium sorbate inhibits the growth of yeast and bacteria as well as mould and microbes. Its is found in many products as it provides a longer shelf life. Another ingredient I use is Caprylyl Glucoside as it is a highly effective solubulizer and also acts as a gently cleansing surfactant that is great for cleaning products.
I currently have a bad cold . So I'm am diffusing Tea tree, spike lavender and eucalyptus right now. I love this blend. It helps greatly with my cough and sinuses. It's absolutely wonderful.
Love eucalyptus!! I got a new bottle of sweet almond oil and I was transferring it into a glass bottle that I store my oil in, stays cleaner than a plastic bottle. My dog was sniffing the air, I had a little on my finger and she was trying to lick it! Definitely one of her stranger moments but apparently almond oil is one of her favourite smells, who knew! 😂 😂 😂

Hi Octavia! We have a great recipe starring Eucalyptus and Lemon that was featured in our weekly newsletter that I can share with you. Do you receive our weekly email? You can subscribe here and we will send you more great recipes each week - and it’s free! info.aromahead.com/ah-weekly Eucalyptus Lemon Shower Spray 3 drops Eucalyptus Globulus essential oil (Eucalyptus globulus) 3 drops Lemon essential oil (Citrus limon) 1 oz (30 ml) Water (distilled or filtered) 1 teaspoon Vinegar Equipment one 1 oz (30 ml) Glass Bottle Directions Make your cleaning spray in a spray bottle. Pour the water into the bottle. Add the vinegar and the essential oils, close the bottle, and shake gently. I suggest making this blend fresh every few weeks, since it’s not made with a preservative. To Use: Shake well before spraying this on your shower walls and wiping them down with a clean rag or paper towel. I like to use this blend after I take a shower. It works great for any surface that’s water-friendly. All I do is spritz it on my shower walls and wipe them down, and then I don’t have to worry about things like mold or grime building up. Safety Note Eucalyptus: Use with caution for topical applications on children between 5-10 years old, avoid applying close to the face.💜

Great question! Yes, you could use Eucalyptus oil in any of your favorite carriers, such as Vaseline, for skin application. We would recommend using a 2% dilution with 10-12 drops of essential oil per ounce of carrier. 💜
Hi Andrea. Love your videos and your book. I also love Eucalyptus, it is my all time favorite scent. I like both Radiata and Globulus. Is there a specific reason for using Radiata? I want to make sure I'm using the right one. Thank you!
Lilacjr Randolphthere are many different species of Eucalyptus and when I made this video I had more radiata, so that’s what I used. Just know that the different species of Eucalyptus essential oil are pretty interchangeable.
Yes, you could smell the aroma straight from the bottle, but you would want to make sure not to get any on your nose. Another idea would be to put a few drops on a tissue and inhale it that way 💜
Hi Emma! Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-ba) is a carrier oil. It’s actually a liquid wax. Pure, raw jojoba wax closely resembles the natural oil produced by our skin, called sebum, which means our skin reacts well to it. It’s great for even very sensitive skin. Jojoba absorbs into the skin and leaves it feeling very soft and smooth, almost silky to the touch, and not oily or greasy. blog.aromahead.com/2015/05/11/jojoba-101

Love all your videos and this one is no exception. A lot of information and great recipes. Thanks so much for this knowledge. Just a general question as I’ve just recently found the value in EO’s, what is a good substitute for Ylang Ylang in making perfumes. Thank you for your time🌸.
Any of these would work, Connie M. Bromley, Neroli (Citrus aurantium var. amara) Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Jasmine absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum). All of them are so beautiful in perfume blends.
Hi Debbie Morales! Sorry about that, I apologize, I should have mentioned for the gallon size jojoba to email the Aromatics customer service team and they'll assist you with that: team@aromatics.com
Hi Lara Everett! Glass is ideal and if you prefer it’s definitely a good choice. Most plastics react with essential oils and we always use and recommend PET plastic which is non-reactive. You can use PET plastic when you’re blending essential oils into a carrier oil, water, or gel. Sometimes plastic is handy, like for travel, cleaning products, or blends you’ll use in the shower (where your hands might get slippery).
@@aromatherapyoils Great! Thank you. I was wondering where to get a glass bottle like that, if it was glass, and what kind of plastic, if it was plastic. So I guess Amazon for the PET plastic?
