This is such a heavenly recipe! I recently made it for an herbalists’ group I belong to. I substituted May Chang for the Neroli EO because that is what I had on hand. Everyone loved it! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your kind words teresa falco! We love that you are part of our Aromahead community here on RUclips and that you're loving the recipes shared!
I just made this recipe and it is fantastic. I have only problem. On the next video, could you please include how to properly clean up your glass Pyrex jar? It's taking me forever to clean the measuring cup so I can use it again...
This is a great question, Carol. One way that I like to clean out my pyrex measuring cup is to place it upside down on a paper towel or newspaper, on a cookie sheet and place it is a warm oven (200 degrees) for 15-20 minutes. The carriers will all melt down onto the papertowel and then you can easily clear out the remaining residue.
Essential oil substitutions always depend on the issue at hand, the intention of the blend, the person’s age, health, preferences… and so many other factors! For this particular blend, you could substitute Lavender with Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea).
Wow I love and watch all your videos and I can feel that body butter already , but can you do a video on whipped body butters ? or is it for the course only? thanks
Whipped shea is more of a process take does some time (sometimes a few hours). After you’ve melted the shea you need to get it pretty cold before you whip it. I put the melted shea into the freeze for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour until the top layer is thick and solidified and then I begin ‘whipping’ it. I blend with the immersion blender. Whipping to the consistency you prefer can take some time but it is well worth it!
Hi Taryn! Yes, this body butter can be stored in the fridge after it's made. The consistency will be much harder though, so we recommend bringing it to room temperature before using it 💜
Hi Andrea. Love your videos and the way you talk!! I wanted to know , if I substitute Shea butter to the Kpangnan ,what are the benefits that I'm losing on?? And if you could give me the ratios for the butters, beeswax and oils to whip up a batch of body butter it would be of great help! Thanks.
Eshwari excellent choice! 4 oz of Shea butter in place ofthe Kpangnan butter would be lovely in this body butter. Both are skin nourishing and make excellent moisturizers.
Andrea, thank you so much for your wonderful videos. I appreciate your calm, measured approach and easy to follow instructions. I was wondering... next week I'm beginning a six week course of radiation therapy for breast cancer, and have recently completed a course of chemo. I've been told I will need to keep my skin moisturized during this time. Is there any particular mixture you would recommend? I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks so much, Andrea! You are a blessing.
Julie, I'm so sorry to hear about your unfortunate diagnosis. There are different perspectives on using oils for relieving certain symptoms when someone is undergoing cancer treatment; it becomes a personal decision we each have to make. Robert Tisserand suggests not using essential oils 1 week prior to treatment and 1 month after. That being said, essential oils are used widely in hospitals in the UK via inhalation for nausea when people are undergoing treatment. I do believe that natural remedies can be used to help the person with some of the uncomfortable symptoms such as nausea, lack of sleep, stress, anxiety, etc. I would suggest openly discussing with your/his/her physician, and perhaps try herbal teas. For nausea ginger teas with fresh lemon may be helpful. Using jojoba, argan or avocado oils without any essential oils to help support the skin would be a conservative way to help keep your skin in good condition while undergoing your radiation therapy. I hope this helps and I wish the best of luck in your treatment.
Hi Maxine! You can place it in the fridge to cool more rapidly. Either works and it's fun to compare both ways. Let us know if you do, which you prefer.
Hi AD! Yes, these would be great substitutions to try. Here is another video where we share a body butter recipe using a combination of Coconut oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter and Beeswax (you could substitute Shea butter by using extra Cocoa butter if needed): ruclips.net/video/AcopJNiYFW4/видео.html 💜 Aromahead Institute has a fantastic class that is all about making body butters! You’ll learn how to blend with 14 carriers, and also learn how to make lip balms. You can find more information here: courses.aromahead.com/body-butters-lip-balms
Hi Andrea! I made this last night and made sure that I took it off the heat once it melted. While I love the scent, the product came out really kind of grainy with lots of little clumps inside it. I placed it in a jar rather than a mold and find it’s difficult to spread. Did I make a misstep? Thanks so much! Xoxo
Hi Brian! Graininess in butters does happen sometimes and it is still okay to use - it will melt on contact with the skin. Sometimes if the temperature is too high while melting it can cause graininess. Gently melting and then cooling quickly helps. Perhaps next time before adding the kpangnan you could try taking it off the stove, then add the kpangnan butter stirring gently until melted. When you pour in into your jars pop them in the fridge to cool.
@@EspadasYCopas I have found all the Frankincense species to be most amazing on the skin for healing, for all respiratory related issues, for reducing anxiety and relieving pain. I tend to use the species whose aroma I most love when it comes to Frankincense because I find them all so therapeutically effective for the issues I just mentioned. What is b. serrata like in comparison to b.sacra is that it is an aromatic difference really, and personal preference. It’s exciting to buy both to compare and experience the differences. I’d love to hear if you do that!
Was the neroli infused jojoba oil that was infused with neroli an essential oil or was the flower put into the oil and until the oil got fragrant. I notice you use neroli 2x. Once with the jojoba oil and the other the essential oil Neroli. thanks! (Also, do I need a preservant for this???) If so, what would you recommend and how much?
Great questions, amie a! The jojoba oil was infused with the fresh flowers, not the essential oil. You don't need to use a preservative in this recipe as there is little concern for oxidation unless you have it more than 1-2 years.
My kpangnan butter is quite a bright yellow. Is this normal? I notice that what you use is a cream color. I want to make this recipe as it sounds lovely. I have heard that this butter has some pain relieving properties so am hoping it will help with my arthritis. Love your videos, Andrea. I find your voice very relaxing:) Thanks.
Hi Jenny! Sharing information about essential oils is our passion. We're glad to hear you're enjoying our videos! 💜 Carnauba wax or candelilla wax are good vegan options to replace beeswax. They’re different than beeswax though, so be aware of that when you’re blending. We don’t have much experience with either, so we can't advise you on the amounts. You could look up recipes to see how you might adjust the amount and experiment a little with it to get the consistency and texture you’re after. You can find carnauba wax at Mountain Rose Herbs: www.mountainroseherbs.com/catalog/ingredients/waxes
@@aromatherapyoils I can see how passionate you all are and it's so inspiring-I am aiming to develop my knowledge of essential oils so I'm really appreciating all the dedication! Thanks for the info-I'll give it a go :) x
Hi Patti! Nope Nope - Kpangnan and Kokum are two very different butters. I wrote a blog post about Kpangnan butter that I thought you would enjoy: blog.aromahead.com/2015/11/30/kpangnan-butter-recipe-joint-pain
Thank so much for sharing your recipes with us. You are an amazing person. I was wondering where do you get your glass cylinder the little small one that you put in your drops of essential oils in?
Jen, you can find them on Amazon. Here is a direct link: www.amazon.com/Graduated-Cylinder-Set-Measuring-Borosilicate/dp/B075GLWJQ8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1533416286&sr=8-6&keywords=graduated+cylinder
Amazing videos I absolutely love your techniques and can't wait to give them a go. I live in the Uk any suggestions on where I can obtain the ingredients such as the infused neroli and jojoba oil? Thanks Amrit
You might try any of these suppliers Amrit : Quinessence - www.quinessence.com/ Osmobiose: www.osmobiose.com/ Oshadhi: www.oshadhi.co.uk/ (no batch specific gc/ms)
Great question, Denise! Heat can change the essential oil properties over time when heated at a high enough temperature for a long enough time. Short exposure is usually okay. People usually heat oils (like a candle diffuser or incense) for the lovely aroma and the benefit of enjoying the aroma. Most oils are steam distilled and they can withstand pretty high temperatures. Adding essential oils to melted wax etc, is totally fine. 😄
Essential oil substitutions always depend on the issue at hand, the intention of the blend, the person’s age, health, preferences… and so many other factors! For this particular blend, you could substitute Neroli with either Neroli/Petitgrain Co-Distill (Citrus aurantium var amara) or Bergamot Mint (Mentha citrata). 💜
Hi Andrea. It looks so good :-) but how do I get the products. I live in Denmark and I can't find the Panja butter and neroli infused oil? I would love an affordable way :-) Thank you
I know Anne-lise, sometimes it is difficult to source ingredients outside the US. You might try one of these companies: Florihana (France) - www.florihana.com/en/ Czech republic (Florihana eShop) - www.aroma-atelier.cz/ Portugal (Florihana) - www.petalandstem.com/collections/essential-oils-organic-and-therapeutic
Hi Andrea - I love the sound of this recipe. I have a couple of questions. In the recipe (video) you show weighing of the neroli infused jojoba, but in the written recipe you show the jojoba as 30ml (instead of grams), should we be weighing 28g on the scale, or measuring 30ml by volume, or does it matter? In other videos that you have made, I believe you have said to cap the jar quickly after pouring, how does this affect the essential oils by making it in the molds where they are left exposed to the air while hardening? Thanks so much. sharon
Great questions, Sharon, you can easily measure both liquid and solids on a simple kitchen scale. It is totally fine to allow the bars (and even jarred butters) to be exposed to the air. Once the essential oils are blended with a fatty carrier there is less concern for evaporation.
Hi Andrea! Love Love Love your videos and so appreciate you sharing you knowledge! I would love to try this recipe. The Kpangnan Butter is out of stock at Aromatics International. Will you recommend a nice substitute?
We introduce you to the process of whipped shea butter in our Natural Living Class, complete with a video lesson stepping you through the process: www.aromahead.com/courses/online/aromatherapy-for-natural-living
I have never used beeswax before, and am curious how does cleaning the pyrex container look like? Doesn't wax solidify and become a nightmare to try to remove?
We find that it helps to wipe the bowl with a paper towel, getting off as much residue as possible and then soaking it in hot water with soap is a very efficient way to clean the bowl after making body butters or any product containing Beeswax. Hope this helps💜
Hi Natalie! Yes, some people like to add Arrowroot powder to body butter to help it be a little less greasy. We'd recommend using up to 1 tbs per batch, but you can experiment and see what works best for you. 💜
Hi asha! This recipe for "My Peaceful Body Butter" is a softer butter as it is a 5:1 ratio of carrier oils/butters to beeswax. For a softer texture you can reduce the beeswax, experimenting with the recipe in order to get the texture you desire.
Hi Andrea, my question is in regards to the aloe I just purchased at Walmart: Its 99.8 % natural and from 100% inner filet Aloe Gel, Fruit Of The Earth. It needs to be refrigerated and can be taken internally. Can I use this for foaming hand soap and body wash? Will it go bad outside the fridge? I didn't notice it until I got home and opened it.
You can use this for your foaming soaps and as long as you make it in small batches and use it up within a couple weeks it should be fine. You might consider Aromatics International for your aloe in the future. Their aloe has a natural preservative that allows it to last a bit longer.www.aromatics.com/products/aloe-vera-gel
Neroli has a citrus, floral and herbaceous aroma. Common substitutes might be neroli/petitgrain co-distilled (Citrus aurantium var amara (Flowers and Leaves)), Bergamot Mint (Mentha citrata)
Jenni Chalmers Neroli-infused jojoba is incredibly soothing and calming. You're going to love it! I purchase it here: www.aromatics.com/products/neroli-blossom-infused-jojoba-wax
I think you might mean Kpangnan butter? Yes, you can use another other carrier butter/oil you would like. Remember if you use something that is liquid at room temperature your body butter will be softer.
I have a question for you, I want to make my own incense sticks, can you please recommend a company that sells quality incense making oils for that purpose. 2nd question is; do I need also to dip the incense sticks in DPG (dipropylene Glycol) in order to reduce the black soot while the sticks burn? Thank you in advance
Hi Eddie! There are many wonderful companies. We like to recommend buying from companies that import directly from the distillers, that test every batch of oil with GC/MS, and that share the batch specific GC/MS reports with their customers. This ensures quality and demonstrates accountability. Here are a few we can recommend: Aromatics International - www.aromatics.com Essential Elements - www.essentialelementsstore.com Florihana (Europe) - www.florihana.com/en Aliksir (Canada) - www.aliksir.com You can read about GC/MS testing here: blog.aromahead.com/2009/12/04/essential-oil-industry-standards-aromatics-international-supports-gcms-testing We have had great results with the incense stick recipe as it is, and haven't found DPG necessary. Greetings! I've made this body butter in a silicon mold. What kind of container would you recommend for storing. I presently have it in a zip lock bag and I find it sticks to the bag. I hate wasting this awesome body butter.
Thank you for replying. After I sent you that message I was thinking to keep my lip shaped body butter in a soap dish on my dresser. Do you think that's a good idea or not?
Shannon, you might store it in any air tight container, like a larger jar or if you're using is up pretty quickly you could always leave it out on a coaster in the bathroom or where ever you find yourself applying the butter.
hello I was wondering if I can use coconut oil instead of jojoba and still pour them on the molds, I love the molds and want to do a few different recipes and I in your class for Aromatherapy for Natural living and was wondering what ratios and mixes I can use to pour into molds? thanks so much
You can use coconut oil, keeping in mind that this will become liquid in warmer temperatures. This recipe is a 5:1 ratio and that would work the same for one with coconut oil. Enjoy, Yani!
I would like to try this recipe but understand that beeswax make a greasy concoction. Is this butter greasy? Can I just use shea butter & jojoba instead? This is because I seldom make such things & they don't sell in small batches that can keep for long.
Carol Mochizuki I don't find that it is greasy. Beeswax is what gives a nice firm consistency to the body butter. It maybe too soft without the beeswax but you could experiment to see how it goes.
@@aromatherapyoils Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I also read somewhere that it's not eco-friendly to use beeswax (no offence) as bees are now already having a very hard time but thanks for the tip.
Carol Mochizuki you could substitute with some other vegan wax such as Candelilla or Carnauba wax. Carnauba wax is a good option to replace beeswax - it is different than beeswax and I have never used it myself. You may need to experiment a little with the amount to get it to a consistency you prefer.
How would I go about turning this into a whipped body butter instead of adding it to the molds? Would I let it cool until it is mostly solid and then use a stand mixer to whip it?
Ok I think I will start with pouring it into jars and see how that goes - I purchased some butters and ingredients from aromatics international to start with some products for myself. What would be substituted with the beeswax if a whipped consistency was desired? In the past when I've wanted to make a whipped body butter it has become very melted. Maybe whipped doesn't mean it is better :)
I love these video's. Thank you so much for sharing with us. What sort of hardness is this butter going to have if its in a jar? Will it be soft enough to scoop and spread around? Or is it going to be hard and need to melt into your hands before we can rub it in? Will plain Jojoba work as well in this recipie?? Thank you again!
Debora the consistency would be the same as the heart shaped molds. The warmth of your hands will soften it as you rub it into your skin. You could use regular Jojoba oil in place of the Neroli infused Jojoba. Have fun blending!
Thank you so much for your reply Andrea. I will probably make it in jars the first time around, but am double checking with you if its soft enough to scoop out of a jar vs having to dig it out. What would you say the consistency will be like??
Hello Andrea I want to buy some essential oils and not sure which company to chose or where to buy to make sure are indeed free of pesticides. I prefer an affordable company as there are some expensive companies and not organic oils either. Can you please recommend some trustable companies out there please my email is andreea_mirela@yahoo.com and my name is Andreea thank you very much
You'll need to use a bit of pressure to get it out of the jar. If you'd like it softer you could aways add an additional ounce of the jojoba. This will soften the consistency.

I am new to the idea of making body butter. Where do you buy your ingredients. Bee wax, jojoba oil with neroli etc thanks for any help you can give this beginner
You would find most of these things at a health food store. Andrea has said on a couple of other questions that you can substitute the neroli infused jojoba with natural jojoba. You can also try googling them and see if there is somewhere close to you that sells them. Hope that helps.
Kourtney B, you can use shea butter(Vitellaria paradoxa (butyrospermum parkii)) you can not find Kpangnan butter(Pentadesma butyracea). Shea makes a good substitute in this recipe.
You could Jackie, and you might consider adding more jojoba so that the consistency is not as hard and easier to whip. I like to use the molds for something different and fun but you could put this in a jar for sure!
I have been experimenting with making my own body butter. Do you know why the scent of the shea butter overpowers the scent of the fragrant essential oils. I am adding at least 20 drops to recipe.
Shea butter does have a stronger aroma and can sometimes dampen down the scents of the oils. I personally enjoy the scent of shea butter but you could always add a bit more oil to help bring the essential oil aroma through.
I would suggest purchasing an inexpensive kitchen scale available at any home goods store... it would be difficult to measure the ingredients accurately with liquid measure and the butter would not come out with right consistency.

I know some essential oils aren't kid safe or some people have sensitivities can I wear this body butter out in public without effecting others in a negative way? Also, can I used it has a hand lotion and still eat my food with it on my hands?
You are correct, we do have to be careful with certain essential oil around children and some medical conditions but that is not a concern when you are wearing the oils, like in this butter, around children or even eating food out of your hands that have used EO's in a lotion.
Frances, you could simply wrap the body bar in waxed paper and ship it to her. You wouldn't need to add any preservatives since this is all oils. You'd just want to be sure that it doesn't set in the hot sun in her mailbox or it could melt.
Hi! how do I know how many drops of essential oil to add? I'm making a body butter that includes shea+coca butter with jojoba and grapeseed oil, But I'm confused about how many drops to add for essential oil. I know essential oils should be a maximum of 1 or 2% to avoid skin irritation.
Hi Salwa! Thank you for this great question! Generally, effective blends are made using a dilution ratio of 1%, 2%, or 3% of essential oil to the carrier. Here are the dilution guidelines we recommend at Aromahead: -A 1% dilution in 1 oz (30 ml) of carrier is 5 to 6 drops (for children and seniors). -A 2% dilution in 1 oz (30 ml) of carrier is 10 to 12 drops (for supporting general health). -A 3% dilution in 1 oz (30 ml) of carrier is 15 to 18 drops (for acute health concerns). The essential oils in this recipe (My Peaceful Body Butter) using 6oz of carrier are: 15 drops Neroli essential oil (Citrus aurantium var. amara) 20 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia) 15 drops Sweet Orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis) 10 drops Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii) We used 60 drops of essential oil in 6oz of carrier for a 2% dilution. You can find our dilution reference guidelines in the Introduction to Essential Oils class under the 4th tab "4. Making Products" and from there "Diluting Essential Oils". www.aromahead.com/courses/introduction-essential-oils Hope this helps to clarify. Happy blending! 💜
I have used many different companies for my essential oil needs but Aromatics International is the one that I use the most. Their website is Aromatics.com
Andrea, thanks for the videos- just a note, I feel kitchen scales with 1g accuracy fall short, so I'm looking for a lab scale even though expensive. Any comments? :)
Thank you Andrea, that model is perfect with refined accuracy 0.01g / 0.001 oz. It's better to go precise when creating set of products, or else going with drop counts is good enough :)
I like this one because it is very accurate: www.amazon.com/Primo-Digital-Kitchen-Scale-Chrome/dp/B0007GAWRS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1501080464&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=Primo+Digital+Kitchen+Scale+11Lb/5Kg,+Chrome+color&linkCode=sl1&tag=wwwaromaticsi-20&linkId=5b173d269e444426d9a37671ed5d715a
The concern with adding essential oils to a hot base it that they will evaporate more quickly. You could allow the butter base to cool just a bit and then add the essential oils just before pouring them into the mold.

This is a great question, Carol. One way that I like to clean out my pyrex measuring cup is to place it upside down on a paper towel or newspaper, on a cookie sheet and place it is a warm oven (200 degrees) for 15-20 minutes.
Love the molds!!

In the end is it helpful to place in the fridge to harden?
Hi Maxine! You can place it in the fridge to cool more rapidly. Either works and it's fun to compare both ways. Let us know if you do, which you prefer.
Hi, Andrea! Can I replace the Kpagnan Butter with Cocoa Butter? Can I replace the Jojoba oil with Olive or Coconut oil? Thank you!
Hi AD! Yes, these would be great substitutions to try. Here is another video where we share a body butter recipe using a combination of Coconut oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter and Beeswax (you could substitute Shea butter by using extra Cocoa butter if needed): ruclips.net/video/AcopJNiYFW4/видео.html 💜

Can neroli/petitgrain work as a substitute for neroli? Chemical attributes seem somewhat similar. Body butter sounds beautiful!💜
Absolutely! Neroli/Petitgrain co-distill is an excellent substitute for Neroli 💗
@@aromatherapyoils Thanks. Wanting to really try this.
Which Frankincense did you use? Is there one that is more calming or grounding? This recipe sounds amazing - thank you Andrea.
Hi Patty! I've used Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii)
is a good question.im wondering wich is the difference between carterii and serrata for example.
Hi Wendy, yes, kpangnan butter can be quite yellow in color, so no worries about that and thank you for the sweet compliment.
Hello :) thanks for the videos!
What would you recommend using instead of bees wax for vegan recipes? Thanks x
Hi Jenny! Sharing information about essential oils is our passion. We're glad to hear you're enjoying our videos! 💜
Carnauba wax or candelilla wax are good vegan options to replace beeswax.
Love this recipe, is the kpagnan butter the same as kokum butter?
oh and what would be different if i used white Refine Shea Butter instead of Kapagnan? Thanks for the help and recipes:)
Hi Patti! Nope Nope - Kpangnan and Kokum are two very different butters. I wrote a blog post about Kpangnan butter that I thought you would enjoy: blog.aromahead.com/2015/11/30/kpangnan-butter-recipe-joint-pain

Isn’t the melted wax etc, too warm to put the EO into right away? It doesn’t denature the EO?
Great question, Denise! Heat can change the essential oil properties over time when heated at a high enough temperature for a long enough time. Short exposure is usually okay. People usually heat oils (like a candle diffuser or incense) for the lovely aroma and the benefit of enjoying the aroma. Most oils are steam distilled and they can withstand pretty high temperatures. Adding essential oils to melted wax etc, is totally fine. 😄
Aromahead Institute thank you so much!
Hi Andrea, I do not have infused jojoba. Would I add more drops of neroli?
Mary, you could add a couple extra drops of neroli to make up for the plain jojoba. I hope you enjoy the recipe!
Could I use vanilla essential oil and vanilla infused jojoba wax instead of the neroli eo and neroli infused jojoba wax? Will it go together well?
That sounds heavenly, Witoldyna m! Let me know how that goes :O)
What oil can you recommend as a substitute for Neroli?
Essential oil substitutions always depend on the issue at hand, the intention of the blend, the person’s age, health, preferences… and so many other factors! For this particular blend, you could substitute Neroli with either Neroli/Petitgrain Co-Distill (Citrus aurantium var amara) or Bergamot Mint (Mentha citrata). 💜
Hi Andrea. It looks so good :-) but how do I get the products. I live in Denmark and I can't find the Panja butter and neroli infused oil? I would love an affordable way :-) Thank you

Shea butter (Vitellaria paradoxa (butyrospermum parkii)) works nicely.
thanks , can i get the link for the whipped body butter course.

Andrea, the mold idea seems really fun. But, do you have to wrap the body butter in anything to keep it (because a glass jar has a top). Thanks
Hi Angela! I leave the whole mold out on the counter until solid (they get solid fast enough) and I then wrap them individually in the wax paper. 😁
Aromahead Institute Thank you Andrea.

Can you add arrowroot powder to make it less oily
Hi Natalie! Yes, some people like to add Arrowroot powder to body butter to help it be a little less greasy. We'd recommend using up to 1 tbs per batch, but you can experiment and see what works best for you. 💜
Hi Andrea,I want it softer can I omit beewax or how can I make it like soft butter consistency? Thanks.
Hi asha! This recipe for "My Peaceful Body Butter" is a softer butter as it is a 5:1 ratio of carrier oils/butters to beeswax. For a softer texture you can reduce the beeswax, experimenting with the recipe in order to get the texture you desire.
Where can you get the infused jojoba oil?
Tracy, you can find Neroli infused Jojoba oil here: www.aromatics.com/products/carrier-oils-butters/neroli-blossom-infused-jojoba-wax
Can you use cocoa butter instead of the kpangnan butter?
You could Cindy - Shea butter would have more of the same consistency.
What kind of smell does Neroli have?? Is there something I can substitute for it??
Neroli has a citrus, floral and herbaceous aroma. Common substitutes might be neroli/petitgrain co-distilled (Citrus aurantium var amara (Flowers and Leaves)), Bergamot Mint (Mentha citrata)
Wouldn't the mold melt with the touch of your hands? It wouldn't last too long like if it was in a jar, right? I love the idea
Andrea Butje Great information. Thank u for replying! Have a lovely day Andrea 💕
It does melt as you use it but only the outside that is in contact with your hands or skin as you apply it.

Aromatics International is a great resource for both of these ingredients, Diana.
Great videos. I'm wondering if the orange oil is going to cause a photo sensitivity?
Thank you so much for responding and your videos are so wonderful!
This is not a concern with sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) essential oil.
can I substitute for mango butter?
I think you might mean Kpangnan butter? Yes, you can use another other carrier butter/oil you would like. Remember if you use something that is liquid at room temperature your body butter will be softer.
Could you use unscented lotion instead?
Absolutely! Using an unscented lotion as the carrier would be a lovely idea! 😄
Also, can you share a link where Kpangnan butter can be sourced?

I have a question for you, I want to make my own incense sticks, can you please recommend a company that sells quality incense making oils for that purpose. 2nd question is; do I need also to dip the incense sticks in DPG (dipropylene Glycol) in order to reduce the black soot while the sticks burn? Thank you in advance
Hi Eddie!
There are many wonderful companies. We like to recommend buying from companies that import directly from the distillers, that test every batch of oil with GC/MS, and that share the batch specific GC/MS reports with their customers. This ensures quality and demonstrates accountability. Here are a few we can recommend:
Aromatics International - www.aromatics.com
Essential Elements - www.essentialelementsstore.com
Florihana (Europe) - www.florihana.com/en
Aliksir (Canada) - www.aliksir.com

Shannon, you might store it in any air tight container, like a larger jar or if you're using is up pretty quickly you could always leave it out on a coaster in the bathroom or where ever you find yourself applying the butter.
hello I was wondering if I can use coconut oil instead of jojoba and still pour them on the molds, I love the molds and want to do a few different recipes and I in your class for Aromatherapy for Natural living and was wondering what ratios and mixes I can use to pour into molds? thanks so much
Thank you so much!
You can use coconut oil, keeping in mind that this will become liquid in warmer temperatures. This recipe is a 5:1 ratio and that would work the same for one with coconut oil. Enjoy, Yani!
Where do you purchase your oils? Trying to find a reasonable place to purchase.
Eliva, one of the many companies I've worked with and recommend is Aromatics International - www.aromatics.com/
Hi can reduce the amount of shea butter and add some coconut oil instead
You can alter the ingredients anyway you would like, Bana Juma. Using coconut oil will soften the consistency a bit more than using shea butter.
@@aromatherapyoils Thank you very much.
@@CMYT2023 you are most welcome!
Can you please recommend some trustable companies out there please my email is andreea_mirela@yahoo.com and my name is Andreea thank you very much
Andrea Butje I went to the site and didn't see the neroli infused jojoba ... is this discontinued

Andrea Butje thank you Andrea for your quick reply
the site doesn't have the shea butter used in this recipe anymore, is it discontinued? thank you
Kourtney B, you can use shea butter(Vitellaria paradoxa (butyrospermum parkii)) you can not find Kpangnan butter(Pentadesma butyracea). Shea makes a good substitute in this recipe.
Can you whip it and put it in jars too? It would be so much easier to apply.
I personally enjoy the scent of shea butter but you could always add a bit more oil to help bring the essential oil aroma through.
could I use a Pyrex cup for measuring Oz .thank you
Then what should I use ty

I want to make this body butter but how would I preserve it to mail to grandaughter out of state of I make bars
Here are the dilution guidelines we recommend at Aromahead:
-A 1% dilution in 1 oz (30 ml) of carrier is 5 to 6 drops (for children and seniors).
-A 2% dilution in 1 oz (30 ml) of carrier is 10 to 12 drops (for supporting general health).
-A 3% dilution in 1 oz (30 ml) of carrier is 15 to 18 drops (for acute health concerns).
The essential oils in this recipe (My Peaceful Body Butter) using 6oz of carrier are:
15 drops Neroli essential oil (Citrus aurantium var. amara)
20 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
15 drops Sweet Orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis)
10 drops Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii)
We used 60 drops of essential oil in 6oz of carrier for a 2% dilution.
You can find our dilution reference guidelines in the Introduction to Essential Oils class under the 4th tab "4. Making Products" and from there "Diluting Essential Oils". www.aromahead.com/courses/introduction-essential-oils
Hope this helps to clarify. Happy blending! 💜

I thought putting essential oils into anything hot destroys the oil. Is that true, Andrea? Or is the butter mixture not that hot?

The concern with adding essential oils to a hot base it that they will evaporate more quickly. You could allow the butter base to cool just a bit and then add the essential oils just before pouring them into the mold.
