That was actually Maynard walking behind Danny btw...LOL
Yup. Never gonna live that one down! 🤣
I never realized that but the hair should have gave it away.
That wasn’t a stage hand with the mohawk, that was Maynard.
I never realized that but the hair should have gave it away.
Maynard doesn't consider himself as important as his band mates, humble guy. If you see what looks like a janitor lurking around in the shadows, it's probably Maynard.
That's not necessarily true. They love the music they make together and recognize that it's special but don't particularly like each other that much. There's a reason why the only time you will see them in the same place at the same time is on stage if they're touring. They haven't recorded together since lateralus. And that being said not recoding together and waiting until each other's parts are complete before coming up with and laying down their layer often gives their music an almost improvisational feel

They didn’t record 10,000 days together? Wow
I never tire of watching this. Incredible skill.
Neither. Seen it hundreds of times, usually reactions
Same ❤
'My brain didn't expect, but really liked' is the best way to describe Tool.
Danny is playing now with Adrian Belew, Steve Vai, and Tony Levin doing 80's King crimson. Yes, please.
I love how the high hat gets softer and less crisp from verse to verse until it turns in to the ride.
Danny is the drumming icon of our time, in my eyes.
The stage hand is Maynard
WELL THAT IS EMBARRASSING!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Maynard was pro'ly getting another prank on Danny!

There's also a point, maybe two where Danny F's up then recovers so it's barely noticeable because of the poly groove.
Have you done Jambi? Jambi is the Tooliest.
Stage Hand Keenan
😂😂
One of the keys to great music is the setting and subverting of expectations. Tool often does this in such a subtle way it is like a magician. They do it with rhythm, meter & chord structure.
Danny is the GOAT❤ 🔥🔥🔥
He did drop out of the pocket once, for only a few seconds, but he is incredible.
Stop expecting anything if you want to enjoy music. You are a passenger. Take what they give you. If your expectations are a thing then you write it. I'm one who has done it in the past and I can see where I went wrong
You almost feel blessed after watching something like that
Pretty confident we’re actually truly blessed
OK now you've seen Danny play, go back and do the video again with your headphones on but don't look at the screen... You're essentially listening to a pro-released and mixed official live version of an amazing song! When you're not focused on just the drumming you can really hear the parts you weren't paying attention to and all together. BTW Tool hasn't officially released ANY live music other than this (as far as I know) since the box set Salival, 24 years ago.
Rather than say, "And that's how easily distracted I am", you might think, I'm able to focus intensely on something which interests me, pulls me in. This is the insanity of the school system and media propoganda which has fucked with so many minds and spirits. Music like this, can help us realize how focused we can be. Tool is amazing. Thanks for your reaction. Music is the Healer. We are, all of us, songs, either in or out of "tune". 🙏
Sorry for the late comment, again 😅
I kinda forgot what I wanted to write after the first watching but I knew II will be mentioned 🥰
And I appriciate drummers in bands
I am not a musician, I don't know sheit about stuff like drumming but II's drumwork amazes me as much as Mountain ghouls from the band Ghost. Seeing this video, Dannys work suprised me in a good way 😃 Before I watched, I tought I will not really like this but after this, reminded me its not always a bad thing to give a shot to new things 😃
I am so glad that you were able to find some things to enjoy in this video! I thought it was amazing! Watching drumming is definitely a new thing that I am enjoying a lot! 😊
@@BraindeadBreakdown well see, one more reason why music brings people together 😄
Thank you for making these amazing videos 🥰
loving the edit in the beginning. LMAO
Have you seen the Tomas Haake drum playthroughs of Clockworks and Bleed? Those are the most impressive.
Oracular Maynard 🗣️
Danny.
When this album came out my gf and I dropped some acid and listened to it inside the car parked in the driveway :P
Sounds like you had a great time with this album 🤣
24 minutes of Tool in a 17 minute length video?
Strange logic.
2 videos in one day.
