Scott, I gave you a shoutout in my newest RUclips video today on how to properly remove bugs with Citrol that you made me discover. It works wonders!
I think it's important to help our communities grow so I mentioned you in hopes to help your channel grow even further, as I'm a fan!
im so happy you enjoyed the citrol and i think its great your sharing it with your viewers...the more we can help the better:)..much love Pan and thanks for the shoutout on your channel, that was very kind but citrol is really the winner here:)
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing its paaannnnnnn the organizer
Scott, i'm from Portugal and love you! :-) does this remove wax ON paint?
gary persaud that makes sense, I was looking at this video thinking the same thing, they both look the same, is it too “rough” though? Ty
Get a room you two
Scott I just used this stuff and it’s amazing. I would have never bought it if it weren’t for you. Thanks for all the videos they’re all very helpful.
Great info. Finally a useful solution to a problem we've all been struggling with. Thanks Scott!
First time responding to a video of yours - but i have to say, this one is my favorite I have viewed, both for the info about removing bugs (I'll be getting some at the store), but your commentary was hilarious. Keep it up!
I was gonna go to sleep early tonight, but now I have to run out and see if they have this stuff at my local Walmart. Thank you Scott again!
Great video Sir. Always watching your videos for advice. Keep them coming
Best video for my area. I live in south Texas where the FAA requires the bugs to have tail numbers because they are so big. Im going to give this stuff a shot.
Here in Florida, the bugs flip off the FAA. They carry assault weapons and wear masks as they jack your car. And, if they're mosquitos, you had best offer up your youngest as a blood sacrifice. If you refuse, they call in their hired armies....the Love Bugs!
Must be a bugger on a bike!
@@bulshtbnd sounds like Louisiana
You are the man! I just put this turtle bug remover in my Amazon cart!
Hey Scott you know what works just as well is a foam nozzle on your spray bottle and what ever cleaner you like best vs those aerosol cans they run out pretty fast imo. great job as always! I've never even seen this product 👍🏼
I can understand why the Armor All hate but never really understood any hate towards the little Turtle. Kind of like Subway - there's much better sub shops out there for sure but you can get a decent sandwich at Subway... I'm also not a pro - so if there is a better product at a price that the pro's can buy at then I could certainly be missing out. A gallon of car wash will probably last me half the year for my 3 cars.... As always Scott - great content and entertaining for sure!
I live in England, I found and watched your channel a couple of days ago and you have saved me loads of money, I was about to put in an order for products casting over £150 thanks,
From all the videos I have seen and search I've done your video made me clear turtle wax bug and tar remover is the best way to go thank you for making this video enjoyable to watch
You're the best... I drive A LOT of high way, and this just saved me so much money lol.
Thank you. I'm gonna try this. I have a white 2017 Hyundai Sonata. Took it to the Steelers and Packers pregame here in Wisconsin. After driving back I noticed plenty of dried up bug guts on the front of the car. I took it to the drive through car wash which usually gets my car very clean but it didn't get the bug guts off. I'm going to be picking up or ordering a few bottles of that turtle stuff. Thanks again.
I have used Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover for years, maybe even decades. My experience with tar has been great. I even used it to remove spray paint from my driver door when it got tagged by a local gang when I was living in CA. It's good stuff.
Thank you for these tips. Who doesn't like to save some money and have a clean vehicle. Thanks again!
Very cool thanks for the tip definitely appreciated👍🏻🤠👍🏻
Great info man thanks for all your tips!!
I had major doubts about this. But after many different attempts to remove 5K miles of Interstate bug death, nothing worked. Pressure washer, ran through automated car washes, power foam wash, hand wash, hand wax, machine wax.... insane! The bug death just became part of my car's paint scheme. After I watch this, I really had nothing else to lose. I tried this stuff. I'm still in complete amazement! Just like your video, spray it directly on area(s), let it sit and soak for 1-2 minutes, came back with cloth towel and moderately scrubbed. Wow! Glad I found your video!
Scott, Thank you again for one of the most informative videos on RUclips regarding bug-guts removal. Your frankness and candor is much appreciated. Although I am almost 99.9% sure some of the companies out there (no names being mentioned) of higher end car detailing products MAY not like your reviews. Well, shame on them anyway for charging FAR FAR FAR too much for their products and getting rich off of the everyday person out here in the real world. It's about time we all rise up and say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH", we aren't paying these prices anymore when we can find a product that works exceptionally well for about one tenth the price some of these companies with fancy bottles and catchy names charge for a product that does the same thing as a product that cost $1 does. If we don't use their products, they have two options, go out of business, OR, reduce your costs to a reasonable and acceptable price point that better reflects what you paid to develop the product and still give you a REASONABLE profit. You see the key point here, REASONABLE. Some of these companies make an INCREDIBLE amount of profit and charge FAR FAR FAR too much compared to what they pay to develop, package, and retail their product. Scott, your reviews are very much appreciated by the "masses" of people all across the world. Us normal folks who don't have the kind of money that some people may have but still have a passion for auto detailing. I very much have a passion, but I don't have the expendable funds to purchase all the products I would absolutely love to purchase for detailing my vehicles. I'm a normal working human whose money must go to living expenses first and "want" expenses at the very very end. However, I have found that by watching your videos, I can actually detail my vehicles with more reasonably priced products found at my local auto parts stores or WalMart/Target, etc. which is great. I'm not saying that some of the more expensive products aren't a better product, maybe they are, but it's just a really nice option to have when you bring to light more reasonably priced products out there that do the exact same thing as the more expensive products, sometimes even far better, for WAY LESS! Keep the videos coming Scott, you are without a doubt one of the best reviewers of Auto Detailing products and techniques on RUclips today and you have MANY fans out here who respect you for your candor. Thank you Scott, I will be at my local WalMart tomorrow morning picking up a couple of cans of this product for use on my bug grime. Turtle Wax has come a long way.....a few of their other new products are actually worth trying as well. They actually work REALLY WELL at a reasonable price point.
Lmao!!! ...hit Chewbacca from Star Wars. Another great vid Scott!
I get the reference with Star Wars but "Bugs with Chewbacca? That doesn't make sense. Vid is still helpful.
Hey Scott, I’m a newer subscriber, been watching your videos for about a week. Just wanted to share another tip about the TW B&T Remover with you and your viewers. I’m not sure if you come across PlastiDip very often, and more specifically, removing it. When it’s been applied improperly or been on a surface for an extended period of time, it becomes extremely difficult to remove. Well, Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover works GREAT for that. Spray it on, let it dwell for 5 min, and spray it with a pressure washer, and it just erases the stuff. It dissolves the hydrocarbons in the PlastiDip like they were never there, it’s great stuff, and clear coat safe.
great tip since plastidip looks so bad on cars:)
THANK YOU !
You just caught me before I go to the W, and wash my car. Going to try this, I need it badly. I'll never jab you with Ray Romano comments again !!
Even the spray bottle foams, good stuff, shake well! Thanks Scott!
Used this product today on grill bugs and it worked as suggested here.
I just tried this stuff after a 2600 mile trip; the front of my truck was covered with bugs. It worked even better than in Scott's video. Best bug remover I've ever tried! Thanks
Is it safe for the painted surfaces too?
If you drive a semi just spray any degreaser product before wash. Does not harm paint if you have it on there a couple of minutes.
Good tip. WD-40 has worked for tar in my case, and also cleans up general grime under the hood. I wash it off the paint when done. Diesel fuel also works on asphalt. I haven't had too much luck with drag strip VHT removal, though.
Thanks for the video. I'm going to try this product very soon
My 17 F250 just did a round trip from chicago to iowa city. I think it went through all of chewbacca's fur and insects on the trip as well as his relatives.
When I got home the following morning I used the Griots product and sprayed the front and mirrors then hooked up my 1000psi pressure washer while it soaked in. It foams a little on contact and didn't fall off instantly. I just used the pressure washer and it all came off to my surprise! My truck has less small parts than the gm truck in the vid but was very pleased with the product and was done in 20 mins.
Just sharing my experience :-)
Great video. Great sensible info!! Thx
Thank you so much for that review. Sad to say but I've been looking for something that would work great on getting bugs guts off my car and with me traveling a lot my 7 month old car looks exactly like chewbacca.
Another winner, thanks Scott
I have a 18 silverado so I saw the thumbnail and this worked amazingly! I also work at a parts store and we had some so it worked out!! Thank you
Do you have the painted front end or chrome? I have same truck with black paint.
I tried the dryer sheets. They worked as well as any product I've tried, including a $20 aerosol can of citris cleaner.
Great video. Thank's for the tip.
You don’t sound like your from Texas!, thanks for the info, I will buy one today, thx
Hi Scott this is what I use on a G650 for all the chrome.
Miller-Stephenson MS-260 SafeZone Glass, Plastic & Metal Cleaner - Made in USA
Great tip. Thanks Scott..
Scott, you should call your channel common sense of detailing! Great videos. Jose from LA
hey my brother:)...we all have it (common sense) but sometimes we don't listen or use it...much love Jose
Nice! Appreciate the tip.
I shall go to Walmart today and try to find this product. Thanks for the tip!
Another product from Turtle Wax that really works well is their Label and Sticker remover. I had a dealer sticker that was coming off so I peeled it off which left the adhesive behind. I bought TW because it was cheap. It worked great. That's not the whole story though. A friend has a daily driver that had a dealer installed clear bra on the front. The clear bra was older and cracked and needed to be remove. After he peeled off all of the pieces, there was a lot of adhesive left behind. He tried a couple of removers but they didn't work. He mentioned this to me at work and I told him that I had a barely used can of TW that I would let him have to try. He sent me a text message excited about how well the TW worked. He removed all of the adhesive with it and still returned the can with a good amount of product left.
Just thought I'd mention that I'm a fan of your videos and the friend that borrowed the TW is the guy who turned me on to your RUclips channel.
Thank you. This is spot on
hey Scott, what are your thoughts on using the "Turtle Wax Power Foam Bug & Tar remover
on a ceramic coated black edition honda ridgeline? Thanks
Your vdo's are awesome
Great! Iwould never have thought of this!
Great information ty ty Scott
Scott. Great idea and thanks. This foam in a can reminds me of armor alls foaming car wash in a can product. I am wondering if these two perform similar to one another. But I am sure there is a key in formulation that is key to soften up and remove bug jerky. I am justqueasy if TW bug remover harms the paint like a caustic or apc cleaner.
You’re hilarious!! Was laughing at your honesty while watching this
Thanks for all your videos.
Can
You use this product on paint???
This is Great ! God Bless You Scott
Scrubbing bubbles works too. I have a friend that’s been using it for years.
Thanks Scott!
Thanks I was just looking a good brand make cents !!
Rain X. Bug remover. Works great. Saved my bumper. Used it often. Would not use anything else.
Used it and works great!
I use wet Bounce dryer sheets when washing my car to get the bugs off. Works great. Also I tuck a sheet under my cap when playing golf to keep mosquitos and gnats away. I may try the Turtle Wax product though.
3D Bug Remover the best that I’ve used.
I’ve been using this product for a while I love it and also a lot products are awesome believe it very inexpensive with them I remember my dad and grandfathers back in the days way back shining their cars under the maple trees here in the northeast come out wicked shiny. Love that little turtle 🐢
You are awesome i want to be a mobile detailer and I'm learning everything by you
I am not aware of a better person for a beginning detailer to learn from.Follow what he tells you and you will save a HUGE amount of money and time. Best wishes.
Great advise to this gruesome problem.
Have you ever used dryer sheets? I use them when I need to and leaves my bumper looking new. I just add a layer of wax afterwards.
Scott what's your method and brush use for getting in billet grilles to clean?
Ive actually had some good resaults with turtle wax products. The ice line particularly. Im a meguires guy but turtle wax is a decent alternative, at least on the retail level.
Hi Scott, what if we don't want to remove bug carcasses? What if we think they are a force field for our vehicles?
This guy sounds like Howard Stern.
Sounds more like Sal the Stockbroker!
Thanks for the review Scott. Whether professional detailers like it or not, some TW products outperform their competition - and costs 2x - 3x less as you indicated. So why not use it right!? Case in point -> TW Wash & Dry is an EXCELLENT drying aid and leaves behind an incredibly durable and hydrophobic surface. It's a $ 5.99 spray wax that outperforms products that cost MUCH more. I know, I've used at least 50 different sprays waxes and TW Wash & Dry I would rank up their in the top 5 for sure.
Just used that for the first time last week and I liked it. Definitely nice to use in between hand waxes. Only thing is I got it on my windows 😫 but it’s all good
Lol @ Chewbacca and lol @ no one is watching me scrubbing over and over 👍👍 love your videos
How does this treat the paint and/or the finish on the paint?
Hey scott wouldn't it be less harmful to pressure wash it off ?
Thank you I'll give it a shot
Hey Scott, is it safe to use it on a ceramic coated car? Thank you
I need a spray to remove bugs from semi trucks easily. What would you recommend?
Can it be used on pai Ted front bumper? Honda Odyssey?
So which would you recommend more. This product or Citrol ??
Blood Guts..
Love it !
Scott, I've used the Rain X Bug and Tar Pre-Wash Gel with good results as well for bugs.
i would imagine a gel would work great as well:)
What you think about using hot water use and a mild car wash
I use fabric dryer sheets with my favorite wash soap
Does that work?
@@CPR4THEBODYlivingaenrichedlife yeah, make sure to spray the car down first then make sure the sheet is fully saturated with water (I use warm water) and get after it. Works great.
Can you use that on your windshield also and mirrors?
It's the foam! Same with super clean foam I use for door jams! Just like the foam cannon is awesome for washing cars, foam is great for everything else. I've been using that for 4 years. Thank you for making realize I was doing something awesome!😂🤣😂 JUST DON'T DO IT IN THE SUN! MORE IMPORTANTLY DRY!
I'm going to be getting a newly painted bumper on my car in about a week. Would this stuff be safe to be put on new, uncured paint?
I use the spray-bottle version of this stuff. Will look for the foam variant when I run out.
If this is truly effective, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
I'm getting a can this afternoon and giving it a shot. Bug residual protein is a thorn in my buttocks when I wash our cars.
How did it work? Do you notice any effect on your paint? The finish/shine of your paint?
Scott what do you think about using Super Clean diluted 5:1 and a bug mitt? I use that for bugs and it works wonders.
does it cloud the windshield?????? The Super Clean Diluted, I mean.
Hey Scott is have a question, so I bought a used car and I don’t think this thing has had a proper cleaning in its 11 years of existence. I tried the Turtle wax but and tar remover (not the foam but the spray, after I washed it of course). Then wiped it off with a microfiber towel and had very little results. Any other ideas or recommendations?
I'm going to try this!!
Hi Scott. First off.... I am a big fan of yours. Your tecniques and product suggestions made my 10 years old black camry look like a mirror. Thanks a lot. I have two questions.
1. Lately there have been some heavy rain followed by couple of hours of sunshine and rain again. Now there are water spots. How do I remove them other than compounding or sanding?
2. How do I remove the old wax or sealant without compounding or polishing? I want to try out a new LSP .
thanks in advance and love you brother!! You're the mentor I was looking for in years
You should check out turtle wax max power car wash soap, like sean B mentioned above. Scott has lots (and lots) of videos talking about how much he loves to use purple power vehicle and boat wash.
eshul rayhan Fine clay to remove LSP, no polishing.
Great video. This Florida boy has been removing lovebugs from cars with dryer sheets. Wet the surface with water and then use a dryer sheet to remove the bugs. Works every time. (The dryer sheet is even softer than a microfiber towel.). Prewash with dryer sheet and then wash your car. The residue flushes off along with the bugs. Sounds crazy but it works.
best bang for the buck.. Haven't found anything better.
@@debo5-073 How about coated cars. Won't dryer sheets remove the coating?
@@LarryRichelli never had an issue. 👍🏻
Can we use it on the painted surfaces???
thanks for mentioning prices
Hi, thank you for keeping it simple and straight to the point. Question: I bought a car a few years back and the previous owners left the bugs on way too long (front). Now the clear coat is damaged and it does not look good (spots). What do you think is the best option to fix or minimize the appearance of the spots? Thank you.
Shaving cream works pretty good too. c
Hey Scott, I've been binge-watching your channel, and this video is so useful to me right now, but I have a question is this safe to use on PPF?
Is it? It's 07/2020 and I am just watching it now.
ara gureghian I ended up using it and it didn’t effect the clear bra visibly but i also didn’t let it sit on for very long before wiping it off. I’ve had the PPF for 4 years now and it’s still good.
@@unitedonez Thanks for the reply... Two years later! I love the PPF by the way. I have this "thing" hating swirls on a car and this time around, within a couple days I had it done. "Solar Guard" Dealers do not remove anything off the car, they have blotters which cuts the patterns to 100th of an inch! "Proshield Hydro+" self healing. 10 year warranty in writing. The hydrophobic peoperties are incredible! No any coating on the paint could ever match that. However, having said that, bug splatters left a few days become hard to remove. Reason for my question. I will definitely try it and follow you in your wisdom... And by the way, they recommended after washing [foam cannon! love that stuff...] and blow dry with a 180mph blower, to only use "Luca Spray Wax". Wonderful stuff. One towel deal, spray and wipe off and even smells great. Thanks again as I think there should be more videos made on PPF. Have a great day...
Hey Scott, What camera do you use, I am in the market for one.
“Blood and guts” 😂
I will try that. Turtle wax used to make a bug remover that was a thick liquid that I liked better than than the watery ones like PoorBoys.
Tested this after this video, clay bar worked best for me, but I used Turtle Wax and it was a close second, especially at the price.
Scrubbing bubbles works good too!
Would you recommend washing the vehicle first. Then applying this product afterwards?
super clean has a spray foam option tho?
