If this guy thinks he knows more about cleaning cars than you Scott why is he watching your channel? You are a good teacher thanks for sharing. Wayne
Who cares what that guy said your videos are awesome and I learn a lot from you keep using it. Just got some scratches out of my wife's door on her Chevy equinox with your techniques thanks. I watch a lot of the people on their RUclips channels. I just like the way you go about things . You actually get the science behind it which makes total sense. Awesome videos!!!!
thank you so much..im happy i can help:)..i don't know it all, but what works in my world I'm happy to share it...much love Joseph
what year is your wife's Chevy Equinox. My wife has a 05 Chevy Equinox!! Yes you can learn a lot from this man!!!!
I can honestly say, I doubted this stuff... My 2000 dodge dakota was hit & it left paint transfer on the chrome & plastic front bumper.. I ordered my $18 can from Amazon & was thinking "this crap better work"... I get it in the mail & first try the chrome bumper, WOWWWW, I then thought, let's see what it will do on texture plastic.. Sprayed let set a good minute & wiped.. 50% was gone.. Sprayed again & let set another minute, put some elbow grease into & BAM it was GONE! ONLY thing left behind was the actual small pcs of plastics missing.. I have now tried it out on THICK grease, WOWWWW.
YOUR AWESOME! I love knowing that you give your best advice off of your personal experience & not who is wanting to sell us something.. Kisses my friend! 😗 😘
Mr. Scott I bought a gallon of Citrol off Amazon and used it today to clean 2 years worth of tar off the inside of the rims on my Jetta GLI. It worked a lot better than anything I have ever tried. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I was in McKinney & Frisco last week and looked at several NAPA's and could not find it, and they couldn't find it in their catalogs, so not sure where you buy it in Dallas for $39 a gallon. I paid quite a bit more for it on Amazon. But it is definitely worth it. The gallon may last me 10 years because you use so little of it. Thank you again for bringing this great product to viewers attention.
Scott I live in El Paso Texas and I would just like to say thank you for everything that you do and the time that you spend showing us products at work and no BS thank you sir
2:20 - Wipes across bugs with Citrol on rag
3:26 - Wipes off Citrol to show final result
3:54 - Closeup of surface
Finally got around to ordering this off the internet as it is not sold locally. Can't wait to put it to some use. Thanks for the recommendation. Love the Chanel.
I need to try this product! Your recommendation of Super Clean was spot on! I finally found it in 1 of the Walmarts by me! I've used it in place of my Meguiars super degreaser and all purpose! I'm very pleased with the results this produces! It's certainly earned a place in my arsenal of detailing products!
Just received my first gallon!!! I am excited to try this out!!
Mr Sparkle how did it work?
You can lead a horse to water .....
Great video Scott! 👍🏻
Holy cr@p Scott, that stuff really works! I have been purchasing some of the products you have been showing for my new black Toyota and this was in my first Amazon order.
wowzers. will definitely be trying this. Curious, have you ever tried Purple Power Citrus Degreaser for bug removal. Just wondering how the two compare.
Thanks for the video!
I found your channel A while back and I have a never turned it back I love this product
Love Citrol! Soooo good ! Took off clay and asphalt so easy peeesy!!
I've also watch your other video on Turtle Wax Foam and it does work great but finding it in Florida, not easy. I just ordered this product this morning from Amazon. Bugs here in south Florida are bad too! Thank you for all the videos you show!
Thanks!
I'm focusing on eco-bio safe cleaners.
Where can you purchase this at??? I have to get some for my husbands car!!!
this stuff looks great, just picked some up cant wait to use it
You are awesome dude. Please keep teaching us.
Scott, You Show 'em better than telling 'em!!!
do you have to rinse It off after use to take out the citrus?
Scott can I use citrol in a matte factory painted wheel to remove tar without affecting the finish?
I like your honesty and professionalism!
This is perfect for trip cleaning aircraft!
Citrol is a great product does a great job on hardened road grime also.
I personally use a couple of sopping wet dryer softener sheets. Bugs come right off. Plus it doesn’t cost 50 bucks a gallon. I use the citrol for other issues.
Hey Scott, I'm currently using a 3D product for bug removal. Have you ever used this on polished aluminum? The grill on our Peterbilt is show quality polished and any kind of acid will etch it. I'm going to order some just didn't know if you knew or not.
What product do you recommend for bug/bird poop/tar/road grime. That can be purchased by the gallon?
Scott, I have learned a lot from your channel, thank you! While I like the idea of using this stuff, I'm having difficulty with the price. Purple Power Citrus Cleaner is also citrus based and quite a bit cheaper. I was wondering if you tried it and if there is any comparison?
FWIW, I use Oil Grabber Advanced Cleaner/Greaser. Removes bugs from painted surfaces with a spray and a hose. Similar to the Citrol product. Bought it at Big Lots for $6/gallon. I'd like to try the Citrol, though.
Scott, will it remove Opti-gloss coating from the paint? And what is what is the product called? You didn’t show it in vid
I just ordered a gallon of this magic sauce! Should be here within the next few days!
Mad Wax Mr Sparkle how did it work?
I want to know what kind of sponge was used in this video if anyone could tell me I would greatly appreciate it because I have this product I just am not sure what applicator sponge to use
Who makes this stuff? Citrol? Is there anywhere in Canada to get it?
Hey thanks for this video. I have this bug gut on front bumper and I couldn't get it rid of it.. I'll try this later! :)
Do you find that Citrol removes wax\sealant?
can you use citrol on the paint for bugs everyday?
Question: do you need to get rid of bug guts from a radiator? If so what do you use.
Another Great Video.
Scott your awesome keep being ridiculously funny. Love you
Took them off very nicely buying my own Can is a must! I own a black vehicle so it shows all the bugs
Where I can buy citrol, any store, no amazon or eBay. I am in Nashville Tennessee for 3 days, thanks in advance for quick responses Scott your the best to explain the process steps by steps.
Awesome but what do use for tree sap? Like from a pine or spruce tree...haven't found a great solution
dantonliam use Lacker thinner
I parked under a pine tree & had some sap on the roof of my car... This stuff makes it easy.. Oh & I tried it on gum that was on jeans.. Don't ask lol.. But it worked, easy...
dantonliam 0
Hey Scott. Great video. Thanx for showing me how to easy remove bugs etc from painted car without damage. Dont listen to scribsciber who " picked wholes in your suggestions/" your advise. Sometimes mate you cant help people if they have shit for brains. Keep up the great shows.
Scott, how is this on Tree Sap?
I could not find it locally but have a can inbound.
I hope this is not really the last Citrol Vid you make!
Thank you!
Hey just asking can u do a video on cleaning very dirty alloys plse thank you Aidan 🇨🇮
Thanks for all the info ! Don't let the negativity get to you. People don't always agree. Take what you want & leave the rest I say but it cost 0$ to be nice !
Anyway I was wondering if this is the same or similar to "goo gone". I've used it before and thought it worked well on different things. Is Citrol better ?
I don't see negativity here at all. Mostly the questions and comments that come up are the same or similar to me. There is a lot of real info missing from this video.
Do you recommend diluting the product?? or should I just use it concentrated for bug removal?
i use it straight for really bad bug splatter but this product can be diluted for light work..make sure to remove residue after using, i do that by simply using water on a towel or a detail spray
What about the black plastics integrated in the bumper, grills, and mirrors
Fantastic. Nice
Where can I order scott?
Hi do you sell this stuff? I live in NC
Does it remove the 3M tape for mouldings? Decals? Does it remove gum and stickies inside the interior? Never used the stuff, i've always did the old scrub method with APC, Acetone, etc.
after removing the moldings or decals you need to remove the double sided tape with a 3m eraser wheel first but after that citrol will remove all and any glue residue from the paint and allow you to polish if so desired...that 3m tape will be rather thick once emblem removed and I'm not aware of any product that could break down that 3m tape in its thick form and thats why i use the eraser wheel to remove it...yes you could slowly remove the tape in small parts by hand but i don't have the time:)..and just use the 3m eraser wheel
It says specifically to not use on plastic, what about the plastic bumper and grills on the vehicles?
Stuff made fast work of those bugs.
Would have been nice if you showed the product so I can know what you used and I can purchase some! Lol I travel a lot and I get bugs all the time! Is it citrol? Based on the comments? If so, which one or do they just have one!!?
Would goo gone work too? It’s an orange based degreaser. I’ve used it on my chrome appliances and it wipes the built up grease with no problem. Also doesn’t do anything to the finish either. Has anyone tried it?
Do you use the spray or liquid? If liquid what was to ratio? I own a motorcycle that rarely gets washed. The finish is a matte black and I am looking to find a product that will clean bugs off the paint and Powdercoating.
Harleyforever20 I’ve been wondering the same exact questions
What’s is this product
This video doesn't bug me. Quality product, I believe this is one of the best bug remover.
i love your comment..its so witty...love having you on the channel my friend:)...much love and thanks for your support
Great Video i use Bug Zap from Commodore Detailing supplies. Dilute 4:1 spray on let set for 2min rinse off all buggs come off. Great product your using I will be purchasing some from Napa.
James Edwards does it take wax off at that dilution?
Andy Aulakh I've never had it take wax off. Works great on side mirrors an chrome just don't put it on glass.
Going to try out the "Stoner Bug Eraser"
Scott, gasoline, hands down is the best bug remover. 😭😭😭. I kid.
and a match..lol..that will get them off for sure:)...always love hearing from you Driveway Reflections
Gasoline and a match??? lol
I tried the Gyeon wet coat... its like a coat over the vehicle! When the dirt is on the paint.. just use a hose to clean it... it wil shoot away without touching the paint🤙🏼
gyeon makes great products...it would be great if every car in the real world had a coating so removing bugs would be easy but 95% of the buying public isn't buying:(
I'm
Buying this immediately
I wonder if the aerosol can is as good? That's the only size I can find other than the gallon jug.
you know thats a great question..my local napa has both and i will check for you and test it out..i have a feeling it may not be as slick as the gallon fluid but i could be wrong..maybe spray on a microfiber and perhaps it will work..love the comment and i will get back to you...much love my friend:)
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing Thanks buddy! love the channel.
This is the first car cleaning video I have seen where the demonstration does not actually show the product (bottle, can, whatever).
I just wash my car every couple days...I live in Florida and it is TERRIBLE All YEAR! I go to the spray wash and hit em with the high pressure and just use my wash mitt to wash the front and the rest of my car. I would think the dryer sheets would scratch it or leave the residue of whatever chemicals are in em. I mean also all these chemicals has to degrade the clear coat.
*You call them bugs?? Hold my beer... lol*
Do you buy it locally or online?
i buy it from my local napa in a gallon size for 39.00
People are going to hate and I get it there is a lot of crap on RUclips but I have always loved your videos.
Anyone is Columbus, OH that wants to split a bottle of Citrol? I'd never be able to get through a gallon based on the minimal amount I see Scott using!
Seems like a great product!
I use the original creme style Go-jo hand cleaner. The kind that is like animal fat and WITHOUT the crushed pecan / walnut shells.
Put it on the painted surface, let it sit for a minute, and then hand buff it out. Follow up with a thick hard paste wax coating and the next time you wash the car, the bugs come off easy
oh my lord i am sold
Where are you located? I need your help with my paints car
im in dallas
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing me too in plano
Where do I order some of this stuff??
citrol 266 can be found on amazon
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing awesome thank you very much
Citrol of course works! It's made of :30-60% citrus. 10-30 butoxyethanal. 10% propane.isobutane;amide, coco, diethanolamine ;10% isobutane. The citrus could some kill some wax and sealant~
and using a bug sponge with car soap and a lot of scrubbing will also remove wax or sealant from the process of friction and scratch the paint..thanks for the info and the comment..love having you on the channel:)
It is said only the auto finesse citrus power could avoid hurt the wax. However, i prefer the way you showed. It is a pity, i counld try some products you showed~ I love the way you introduced the products, especially, you can think outside of the box!
Does Citrol need to be flushed off? Thanks for the education. Great vids!!!
I USE TURTLE BUG AND TAR REMOVER FOR HARD TO REMOVE BUG AND STAINS. STILL THE BEST FOR ROAD GRIME 😂
I need to try some of this. I mowed down the entire population of butterflies it seems. I went to pressure wash all the shits off and I ended up busting a quarter sized piece of paint off mistaking it for a bug. So needless to say I won't be doing that anymore.
Will this product take off the wax where you use it?
great question and yes it will...but what i have learned after 26 years, even if you use car soap and water and a bug sponge, your going to remove the wax or sealant through the process of friction..so its always best to apply a fresh layer of protection either way..hope that helps with your question
LMAO, haters gonna hate Scott, especially on the internet!
Why don't you dilute it and rinse afterwards as cautioned by Schaeffer? I'm afraid that if you use it in concentrated form without rinsing that it may soften the clearcoat.
then follow their instructions..i have used it for over 10 years on the front of the car in this video and many more vehicles and never seen a issue...but do what you think is best...have you seen it soften clear coat?..it sounds like your talking from experience..thanks for the comment and if your talking from experience i look forward to your response ...most if not all companies will have a concern with any product they produce for the buying public and i don't blame them but follow your gut and do whats best for you, i can only share my experience of using the product daily and for years and on many cars
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing &
it left a stain on my paint and window
I used 3M hard water remover gel today and it got just about everything off!!
but removes sealant and wax?
working in the real world Steven and cleaning a customers car that hasn't been washed in months plus bug guts left on the paint for the same amount of time, i don't have to overthink it because most in the real world don't even wax their cars as they should and I'm going to apply a fresh coat of wax anyway....even if wax was present under the bug guts and i used citrol to remove them it only takes minutes or seconds if i use a spray wax after using citrol...but yes if your removing the bugs on time and they haven't been sitting on the paint and burning in the sun for months than you could use a more gentle cleaner that doesn't remove the wax..but have you driven on the highways lately, do you notice how little people care about the bugs on the front of their cars or even if they are washed weekly?...the more time i spend on youtube it becomes obvious that most that are watching a channel like mine are taking care of their vehicle as they should and thats awesome but my customers aren't on youtube, they live in the real world with busy lives and for the most part their vehicles don't get the attention they deserve..and thats a fact!
For some reason, this Citrol stuff doesn't work for me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but it does not remove bugs for me. I tried it on very old bugs, not surprisingly, didn't work. But today, I tried it on brand new bugs which I acquired just today on a short road trip. No dice, still doesn't work. Doesn't even touch the bugs. I still have to scrub them off (scratching the paint, of course). I saw this video and it apparently works for you. It doesn't work for me and $17.00 for a spray can doesn't seem to have been a very good investment at this point. Can you please advise? Otherwise, I love your videos, but this shit just doesn't work for me.
Thanks, Scott. I love your videos and I assumed there was something wrong with the way I was doing it. Also, I just watched the video again and realized you were spraying the cloth first. I sprayed the car, then wiped it off. I just went out and tried it again and it worked much better your way. Thanks so much. I guess I will use this $17.00 spray can and then see about getting the concentrate next time. Where do I buy it and how big a quantity do I have to get? I suppose a gallon. That's cool. I do a lot of highway driving due to living in the sticks now and that equals plenty of bugs. Also I have a black car and it's really hard to actually see the bugs. Thanks so much. I love the videos.
What about etched bird poop
but I dont want to rewax the front of my C7 Corvette after every use of this product, so I use Griots speed shine, removes bugs just fine.
steven wentling but you have told many on the channel that you never drive your corvette in the rain EVER, you also said you would NEVER use a rinseless wash on your corvette. it's obvious your in love with your corvette and it doesn't sound like it sees real world conditions on a daily basis like other's vehicles so i would imagine a simple spray wax would just work for you..will griots speed shine work for other cars or just corvette?
Scott Bley I dontv drive my vette in the rain, speed shine is not for washing your car.
steven wentling ok..you made the comment about griots speed shine below the video about bug removal. .I'm sorry i can't do this it's actually exhausting...im happy your speed shine is removing bugs for you but in the real world when people are lucky to wash their car once a month at best, i don't think, well in fact i know griots speed shine will not remove bug guts as fast or easier than citrol..thanks for your comment and have a beautiful week my friend:)
Scott Bley speed shine, its used to remove bugs, bird crap, fingerprints, smudges, its not a car wash product, and it doesn't remove your wax or sealant, please do some research, do you even own a car?
5 years and the guy didn't respond in the comments? That must have been awfully humbling if he couldn't even comment.
how so
Use wet dryer sheets!
Scott , do you still feel Citrol is best bug & tar remover ?
Yes
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing Thanks , I’ll stock up .
you sound just like mismag822 that teaches magic tricks
Citrol won't ship to cali
What about the low VOC foam formula?
At $65 a gallon and should be good. I’ll bet kerosene will do the same thing.
I hate those F Bugs! Their acid is hell
Wtf... hardly any bugs...
People, people.. Many spoil humans in America.. They have one thing for everything 😏
What if you were in other country like Portugal where I live and those products don’t exist at all? Does it mean you are not going to be able to remove those bugs? I’ll tell you one thing, baby shampoo with water will just do as good as your “fancy” product in the video.. ay Dios mío 😏
if you clay barr the front of any car or truck and then wax it anything will remove the bugs easy you just got to keep the front end slick and keep clay barring it tfs buddy good video
i don't need to use a clay bar and clay lube..thats two products and labor plus a clay bar will and can scratch the clear coat detailer king but if you like the labor plus getting your clay bar filled with bugs, I'm happy its working for you and your world and would never want to change your mind and i honor your process
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing no once you clean the bugs off buddy clay barr it the nextime you will see that you can wipe them away with plain water i done it on my 2017 Nissan checkout my video it makes it so slick the bugs really dont stick to the paint break that nano skin out ha ha ha ha tfr buddy you the best
plus in dallas we get bugs hitting the car daily and lots of them..if i used a clay bar weekly i can promise you my clear coat will be scratched over time and its not practical to clay your car every week or every other week
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing you right thats why i said use a sealant to protect your work glad i can help you out i am a car cleaning guru ha ha ha ha ha
i love you buddy:) ...mr car cleaning guru is how i will address you from now on;)...you are a trip and i love you on the channel
breAK that nano skin clay spray out keep that front slick good video buddy i enjoy you
citrol is far more slick vs nanoskin clay lube
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing ha ha ha ha i am just like mike from autogeek we best friends tfr
My secret is Goo Gone
