Sir, this is one of the best tar removal videos on RUclips. The only other thing to test is how these products affect plastic and trim. Jon at Forensic Detailing grabbed a sheet of polycarbonate to test on and it was very helpful. Thank you
Love the test. Comprehensive, balanced and consistent testing between products. Quick - no padding. So helpful. Great to see the before and after together. Very Impressive. Being lazy, I want one product for Tar and Bugs. I watched your comparison of Bug removers as well and settled on the Turtle Wax product to do both jobs well.
You're absolutely a godsend dude, your video's are very informative and educational. I've recently just started appreciating and taking an interest in cars and It's nice to know which products and methods I should be using. Looking forward to learning more from the channel!
I just bought the RainX Bug & Tar sprayer today, after watching your video last week. It is amazing on the tar!!! Now for the bonus. My car looks dirty but you can slide your hand over it and it is clean, I was planning on using a compound. BUT the RainX sprayer removes the dirt that was under the wax , or whatever was holding the dirt! Going to use on my entire car! Thanks Again!!!
I'm so glad I found this. My Honda Civic lost it's plastic liners YEARS ago and after prepping the engine bay for paint, decided it was best to hit the wheel wells. Your test showed that sometimes, brand names can get over saturated and forget that they shouldn't just attach their name to inferior products. Mothers has great products, so I was surprised to see how their tar removed basically did very little! I'll be going with the Stoner brand. I'm hoping I have the same success. Thanks again! **Edit** Grabbed my Goo Gone that I forgot I had and sprayed it. Had the same results! Goo Gone came through and smells amazing!
RainX will work well, especially if you soak the surface of the bugs pretty well. You can even overlay a paper towel on top of the soaked bugs to keep the spray from running down, allowing it to fully soak into the bugs.
I was using Stoner Car Care on a project, and loved it. Ran out, and replaced it with the Mothers brand. Wow, what a difference, the mothers was almost useless compared. I had to return it.
The best bug remover and the best tar remover is a wet dryer sheet. Lightly rub. I know for a fact it works because I have used it on my 2014 white platuim ford escape. Simple and easy.

While it is important to observe the cleaning abilities of bug and tar remover, one must keep in mind that the stronger the cleaning ability, the more likely it is to remove wax and paint protection. The less powerful cleaners are designed to preserve wax and protection.
@@ghazisaeed2739 Almost all waxes and sealants would get removed immediately after two applications of bug and tar remover. However, if if you use a ceramic coating, it could withstand to repeated bug and tar remover use with no degradation.
That’s a good question, I don’t recall seeing any notes on the bottle about that, but it wouldn’t hurt to reapply wax to the spot you used the tar remover on.
I didn't get paid by anyone, its like a $5 product. You should try Goo Gone or applying whatever cleaner you have to a paper towel and leaving it on the tar for a while to soak in.
Driving on the highway during certain seasons and times, like spring and fall in the morning and night, that's when the most bugs are out. On highway speeds, these bugs accumulate on the front of your car. When baked in the sun, they are really hard to remove so chemicals are needed to loosen them.

I think Stoners is basically relabeled brake-clean, which is super powerful when it comes to diluting petroleum based chemicals.

Best thing for tar is wd40 or baby oil

Why do you guys accumulate bugs on your cars?

bugs commit suicide when they see your car driving at 70 mph.
