I consider myself to be extremely skilled with the AT Pro. (5) Trimes, numerous seated, a capped bust, 1662 cob, etc. I've only been detecting for 2 1/2 years too. That being said, the Patriot seems like a good choice to liven up my old permissions. As with any machine, it's all in how well you know it and the amount of hours you spend on it.
There are some VERY good AT Pro users out there. They know it inside and out and will get every last bit of the detectors ability to come out. You better have something special to get anything they left behind. IMO the Patriot is one of those special machines however. Sounds like you are in a great location as well....that is probably the most important thing to consider. A guy with a Bounty Hunter Jr. in Massachusetts will find more "oldies" than a guy with a CTX3030 in the middle of Idaho. I am guessing a few weeks with the Patriot would be great for you if you are making finds like that.
TheHunterGT definitely. I'm on the eastern shore of Maryland. Lots of history out here. I might have to invest in one and see how it does. I have a spot that has been hit my myself and Hoover boys. If the patriot can pull an old coin out of there then I'll be extremely impressed. I get a bonus in August so I might have to buy one!
Killer comparisons! I've owned 3 AT Pros and they are all gone. Im keeping my new Patriot! Thank you for the discount code. My new Patriot is on the Bench soon to be in the field.
T2 breaks iron at 40 while the Patriot is at 15. The compressed iron scale on Patriot allows for a more spread-out non-ferrous scale. Much better for coin and jewelry hunters. The wider iron scale on T2 makes it better for relic hunters - especially guys who hunt large iron relics like cannonballs and tools...etc.
Thanks for doing this video. I was really thinking about getting an ATPro as an upgrade but , as you know, I went with the Patriot. I am sure happy I did. I still was wondering if I was missing something by not getting the ATPro (mostly because of its popularity) but I am really thrilled with this new Patriot. On my first testing, in my yard that I have gone over LOTS of times, I was finding old pennies 7-8" deep. WooHoo!! Happy Camper :) THANKS to your vids :)
Do you have any thoughts on the Patriot vs a Whites MXT, XLT, or MX Sport? I’ve used an XLT and liked it a lot, but the Patriot has caught my eye now due to the price. On the other hand I have been looking at used MXTs lately too. I can’t decide which would be better for straight land hunting (primarily coins and sometimes relics). If you have any thoughts please share!
I don't sorry Drew. I played with a prototype "GMX" gold machine they had at the recent gold show. Other than that, I have never really touched a Whites. Nothing against them...just never been around one for whatever reason.
I upgraded from a entry level Bounty Hunter to the Patriot. I love it! I’ve found HUNDREDS of coins down at Manhattan Beach CA where my daughter lives. I’ve found gold rings, earrings, knives etc. I only go down a few times a year. I did go out early in the mornings in Sunriver Or to a park while on vacation. So, there was another Hunter there a few mornings using an Equinox 800 he worked a sand volleyball court for a few hours while I worked the grass field. I found over sixty coins, dog tags, silver necklace etc. he found one coin and two rings. So the next morning I went to the court to see if anything was left. I found a silver ring, a Gold engagement ring with four diamonds and about eight coins! When he showed up he asked if I found anything? I showed him all of my finds ... it blew his mind that I found even more treasures at that court. Long story but I’ll keep my $399 Patriot thank you very much. 😀
Over in the UK most people don't water hunt but we detect in a lot of rain which is why the at pro sells well. I have bought a quest Q 40 which is not submersible but is weather resistant, it comes with wireless headphones as standard and is very quick and light.
The real reason to buy an atpro is to start a RUclips channel. Because there’s a shortage of metal detecting channels with people swinging atpros. Am I right?
$850 for the Impact...$399 for the Patriot. Kind takes the wind out of the sails for a VS video. I've read that Tom Dankowski still chooses the F75 LTD over the brand new Impact by a slight margin. He field tested both before release and knows his stuff. Since this Patriot is technically a step down from the LTD - I do agree it would make for an interesting comparison all the same.
Without a doubt, one of the best comparison videos I've seen. Lots of good information that helped me decide not to change detectors. I currently use a F70 and was considering the AT PRO for very shallow water hunting. But as long as I'm careful, the F70 will outperform the PRO in that environment too. Thanks for the great review!
Thanks Tom...glad you enjoyed it. In my opinion the ONLY advantage it has is waterproofing. Beyond that the Patriot wins in every performance category I can think of. Thanks for watching and commenting.
awesome video! only issue I have is you say these are night and day.....but the patriot is a new platform based off of old ones. the at pro you have sitting there is how old? I'm no garrett fan boy besides pinpointers, just seems like someone comparing a 90 corvette vs a 2016 BMW m5. That patriot is obviously a massive bargain! can't wait to see the omega review as I'm torn between it, and this patriot.
Yes - based off of a F70 that was released in 2010...same as the AT Pro. No other tech changes have taken place other than the new look and massive price drop. So the comparison is actually spot on as far as technology and release date. Thanks for watching and commenting!
TheHunterGT true, good point. it really is an amazing value the more you think about it. 400 bucks.....thing is hitting those targets on air test within an inch of my f75. has me thinking of what back up machine I want now to be honest
Dave Johnson who engineered both has said that you should never feel like you need to upgrade to a F75 if you have a F70 (Patriot). Made me really think about how powerful this detector is if he said that. Glad marketing finally gave it the love it deserves.
I used the code and my Patriot will be in my hands in one day. Your right I don't plan on going in the water . I was seriously considering a AT Max. I am glad I discovered your video and the other company took to long to release their new machine.
Thank you - I really appreciate the support! You will love the Patriot. From what I have seen the AT Max does NOTHING the Patriot cannot do other that waterproof and wireless....and it's 2X the price.
So my Patriot came today and i will give a brief review. This thing goes deep. I had the sensitivity at 80 and threshold at -3 and i was pulling penny's at 10+ inches. My house was built in 1890 and i had a Ace 250 around my yard several times. The Patriot was hitting the yard like i was never there. My wife was working the Patriot and i was pinpointing and digging. We found two wheat pennys, a bunch of newer coins 1980 and up, a really old Hoe "no not my wife", and a few other metals that we are not sure of yet. This thing really is a monster. The Patriot and a Garret pinpointer is all you need in this hobby. Thanks
Right on Michael. That is fantastic to hear you are doing well with it. The Patriot is a whole different animal from the Ace series (or even the AT Pro like I show here). So deep and fast it's a wonder they are selling it for $399 with the code. Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciate your support man.
My pleasure and glad to help!. Thanks for using my code!. Fisher makes a 5x10 for the F75 that works. Any F75 coil will work on the Patriot...aftermarket or First Texas made.
Liz, get yourself a NEL Hunter coil, it really wakes up the AT PRO. I just put one on mine and it makes a real difference. I had good signals in my yard I couldn't hear and after the coil swap they came right into existence, like pure magic best $142.00 spent.
In my opinion this is an excellent video. I actually use the AT Pro and I do water hunt but thinking about getting the patriot for my land hunts thank you for the comparison.
Great comparison video Hunter I would have never guessed. The only water I would ever consider detecting in is salt water and I hear the AT Pro is not that good in salt. My dying Bounty Hunter still gets up to 10 to 12 inches. The problem watching these comparison videos is it seems to always alter my thinking. I really appreciate the time and effort you put forth in every video, always explaining fully every step of the way. Have an awesome holiday weekend, my friend.
Thanks Eric, I appreciate the kind words. These VS videos are fun to make since I can really dive into two separate detectors and see the differences. They alter my thinking too - and I always learn something on every test. Try to anyways. HH as always.
Been using an Ace 250 for quite a while and been looking for a good step-up detector. I was saving up for a T2 and then the Patriot caught my eye, better and cheaper with a well proven DD coil. Your videos gave me confidence to order a Patriot with your coupon code, thanks. I look forward to learning my new machine, when it comes...
Glad to be of service Kevin. Thanks for using my code...I appreciate that. Patriot has been my go-to machine since it got here. Very powerful even at 60-70 sens. Let me know if you have any questions on it...always here to help.
Awesome video i was thinking about upgrading from my ace 400 to the at pro or at max. Thank you, you have changed my mind i will be getting a teknetics. Happy Hunting
I don't think you will be disappointed Wayne. I feel I could walk behind ANY AT Pro user and make some finds that they missed. It's not a bad machine...it's just not a Patriot. :D
I have already done the Makro - Garrett - Teknetics/Fisher test...it was the only 3 I had at the time. Teknetics/Fisher was clear winner. Check back about a year in the videos sections and you should see them.
I just don't understand the popularity of the All Toy... Uh, I mean the AT Pro. With the AWESOME selection of 'tectors available now-a-days, it wouldn't be on my top ten list. ie... Nox, Deus, F75, T2, Impact, Simplex, Alter 71, G2, Patriot & my first TR I bought in the 70's. ALL I would choose before an All Toy... Uh, I mean AT! Great vid Hunter GT!
I am kind of new at MD. I recently bought a BH 2200 discovery. Not a bad beginner. I live in Virginia Beach. Now the BH goes nuts with false beeps on the wet sand. Dry sand it's fine. The coil is water proof. I thought I wanted an At pro till now. I'm not river or lake hunting in balls deep water. So Dah! Why would I buy an AT pro? I don't need to spend that money! Help me make a decision. Is this detector good for wet salty sand as well as dirt?
Hunter, is there a coil I can use on my Patriot that is good for open fields and woods , maybe a little more depth and able to cover larger area? Thanks!
MGC-Lab is sending me a 13 inch coil they are making for the F75.....hope to have it soon...it would be perfect. Other than that....Nel/Cors would be the best bet. They make some pretty big coils.
Looking to get a metal detector would love the Patriot but I see when I went to their site it's not being made anymore bummer. Do you know of any that is as good as the Patriot?
Never knew getting back into the hobby would be so difficult. Torn between the AT Pro and the Patriot even after this. I'm leaning toward the Patriot except for two reasons. Of course one is the lack of waterproofing (I will be in rivers and creeks at low flow half the time) and the other is after asking a dealer I've used in the past a quote he informed me he no longer carries the Patriot model due to QC and reliability issues. Have you heard about any issues like this?
David Tamboli There are no quality control issues with the Patriot. The dealer most likely gets a higher profit margin for an AT Pro so pushes that to line his pocket better. I'd stay the hell away from that dealer if I were you...whoever it is. As far as waterproofing...not much wiggle there. Ya either need it or you don't. If you can live without it...Patriot is the better performer. Also has a better warranty.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have been trying to figure out which one of these to get and now I know. I have a BH Quicksilver and it has been good to figure out if I really do like the hobby but now I'm ready to move up. I have trouble pinpointing with the BH where to dig which is very frustrating. Do you know how long the $50 discount will last?
Should be good for the foreseeable future on the Ameriteks. Other detectors are cycling through flash sales and come and go and Teknetics pleases. Great sales and price drops they have going lately.
Hard to say...they are different machines. The Patriot is probably one of the best price to performance detectors around right now. Nothing in the $399 price range comes close to it in my opinion. It's based off the same 13 khz platform as the T2 and F75 and has the performance to prove it. It is deeper on coin sized objects compared to the G2. The G2 is a great relic machine and nugget shooter however - and will hit smaller bit and pieces better in bad mineralized soil. Also one of the best ID's on coins I have seen for any VLF detector. Separates and unmasks quite well in heavy iron.
Hello have u had time out in the field with the patriot yet what do u think off it is it ok in trashy places and so finding coins ok,thanks just as I was going to get a at pro but after seeing this, patriot wipes the flour with it, going to order a patriot this week I I can get some info as there's not info out there yet,
gunner836 I love the Patriot and have well over 100 hours on it. It is one step away from a F75 and T2 since it runs on the same 13khz platform. Shares the same fast recovery speed and separation. Even shares coils with the F75 (not T2). For $399 it is one of the best buys in all of detecting. Alot of my recent dig videos in the last 4 months show it off.
$300 difference. In good to medium soil I see no benefit in the 600 over the Patriot. Only in terrible soils would the multi-freq come into play for depth. 600 would be slightly better in nail tests.
@@thehuntergt thank you for the reply! Yeah my buddy is a die hard Minelab guy, but I've been into Bounty Hunter and whatnot. I know the BH/Fisher/Teknetics are pretty much all cousins of each other haha. Love the vids btw.
innertube205 Best place is factory direct at www.tekneticsdirect.com using my code A1474 during checkout. $50 off...free shipping....5 year warranty. You will love it.
Very well done. You just showed it how it is. Wish the patriot was out six months ago when I bought my Delta ,I do like it but the Patriot does seem to be a step or two up. Jim
I have a question, would the garrett or teknetics work better with the smaller coil for separation? Not sure if both coils are wound the same. I have an old fisher 1270 an old Nautilus LF. Looking to get a newer machine. I live in Ga while I dont go underwater it does rain here alot in the summer. and its common to get soaked while out in the woods. I have also had my eye on the t2. I do relic hunt. What do you recommend?
Well the Patriot is already the better separator that the AT Pro. Going down coil sizes on both machines should stay fairly relative. I do think the Patriot with the 5x10 dd or the 5x10 concentric would be a better choice than the Garrett with a similar sized coil. If you are a relic hunter. You might want to look at the new T2+ that comes with the Tek-Point pointer included. For $549 it is a hell of a deal. It's a T2 Classic with boost process (BP) added to it. The pointer is $129...so it's basically a T2 with boost for $420. Hard to beat. As far as the rain and getting soaked. I would wrap a gallon baggy with a rubber band before I ran the AT Pro. :)
Looks like the Patriot has better separation and depth than the AT Pro. Now if they would just come out with a waterproof version of that Patriot or T2, it would dominate the field. The new Garrett AT Max supposedly has better depth than the AT Pro, but it looks just like the AT Pro with different decals and is a couple of hundred dollars more expensive than the AT Pro. I know the old Fisher Cz series had great separation and pretty good depth, but I don't think they are as deep as today's detectors. Just a thought, but that 5x8 coil that goes with the AT Pro might have been better on the target separation.
Yeah but then I could just slap on the 5x10 on the Patriot and conquer it again. I will say the At Pro can unmask fairly well...but beyond that waterproofing it the selling point. Even the Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro matches it in depth. At Pro is plenty fast on recovery speed - but the audio cannot keep up. It needs a break in the audio before the next signal comes through. I would LOVE a waterproof T2 or Patriot...maybe something is in the works. Never know! :)
I don't record all my hunts...and absolutely not sure what video it would be in. But there should be footage somewhere in these videos of me pulling 8-9 inch coins with the Patriot. It is definitely not something that happens every day....but I have shown my PP totally below the ground line more than once with the Patriot and T2 both.
The Patriot is quite a bit more powerful. The Platinum Pro is only sold at one vendor from what I understand...so they have a corner on how they price it.
I bought a used Delta 4000 first edition about a year ago I like it . I am looking to buy a new detector and this looks like the one I'll be getting. I am on a fixed income and can't afford a very expensive machine. Thanks for the vid.
You will be very satisfied in my opinion. I have used the Delta and it is a great machine for the price...but the Patriot is the best deal in all of metal detecting right now in my opinion. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey HunterGT, use a small TK/BH 'nugget coil for your TK and this machine should be unstoppable. By the way, I rediscovered that I shelved a TREMENDOUS little machine, my Teknetics Eurotek Pro with it's 11" DD coil like you're using. WOW, that machine pegs a dime at that same appx. distance as your Patriot! It is amazing on all the other coins you tested too and was actually pegging the quarter out to appx. 12" AMAZING!! I had set it aside because I was believing the hype from a lot of other brands/models. GLAD I rediscovered the versatility and (sheer) power and recovery speed/response times of this wonderful machine. Even at (0) disc, this machine is 100% accurate and extremely quick. Light and balanced just as your's and the really nice thing is that it only needs the (one) 9-volt battery. I hope to take it to the beach where one can truly use little to no disc and still get the tone i.d. capabilities. Nice! Has the VCO as well!
They don't make the 4in concentric nugget coil for the 13khz machines (F75...T2...Patriot). They do make a 5in DD however, which I do own. The EuroTek Pro is a great machine for the price. Theyhey are selling right now as the MinuteMan from Teknetics. Same machine...but priced at $149 which is a steal. One of the best price to performance ratios in all of metal detecting.
Great video sir, just wondering if patriot can handle wet salty sand, I'm not planning to go into water, just wet salty sand, will patriot handle it? Thanks sir, wish you the best
I will let you know this weekend as I plan on using it on the beach and making a few videos with it. I have yet to use it on the beach. Just my T2 and F19 which handled it quite well.
TheHunterGT thanks sir, I'm going on vacation in 2 weeks, so I want start hunting on the Mediterranean sea, and it gonna be my first time buying and owning a metal detector, so I will try to hunt mostly jewelry over there, hesitating between patriot and land ranger pro, but I'm open for more options, something cheap and very good with jewelry on salt sand lol, the patriot is out of my budget for the first time owner, the more I watch videos, the more I get confused, I'm a beginner in this field, I have to order one soon early next week, I really appreciate your fast reply
No doubt about it, Teknetics makes some great detectors. I've got an Omega 8000 I wouldn't part with. Especially like the manual ground balance where it shows whether the gb is too high or low and one can adjust it manually with the arrows. Also like the crisp tones, but I sometimes like to hunt in the lakes, and with the AT Pro you don't have to worry about getting water on it. Its not as bad a machine as you let on. I've found a lot of coins over 6 inches deep with it. Have you ever compared the Patriot to the Whites MX7 or MX Sport? I hear they both go pretty deep. .
Yeah, I agree I gave it a pretty hard time here. It will find the goods for sure. For a water hunter, it has been great for a decade now. For a dry land hunter, I'll def keep my Patriot or a T2 or a F75. I have a buddy with the MX Sport...he really seems to like it. Did real good in his test garden.
And I have found 5 silver dimes including mercs, 3 silver war nickels, a silver quarter, and believe it or not a two reich's Mark German coin from 1938 all with my Cheapo Bounty Hunter 4,BUT.. I am wondering how many great Silver's Etc I've missed so I'm definitely ready to upgrade and I'm seriously eyeballing that Patriot
Hey I noticed you did not max out the the AT Pro on sensitivity like you did the Patriot till it chattered on sensitivity. Not exactly a fair shake but the Patriot is impressive and I expect Garrett to up their game. Maybe with the AT MAX?
That was max on the AT Pro. 8 full bars of sensitivity. It goes no higher and does not chatter at max sensitivity in my garage...which is why I mentioned that it has room to grow to hit its ceiling. Perhaps with the AT Max...we shall see.
It will ground balance to 0 (salt). It is one of the only quick grab detectors I know of that does it. Press the GG button...pump the coil. Off you go. It GB's at the same phase readout as the F75 does if I manually do it by ear. Huge time saver.
That is one thing about the AT PRO I don't like. I've been to the beach a few times and I tested it. It loses its ability to detect deeply. At about half the depth of regular dirt.
You have greatly helped me make up my mind on what detector to buy. I found a like new AT pro I was going to make an offer on, but after this video, I am buying the Patriot. It seems like it would out perform the new AT max also. A test on the At max against the Patriot would also be a good test, since the AT Max out performs the AT Pro by a little. . Thanks for the excellent comparison, you convinced me for sure. My old Garrett coin commander will soon be a second machine.
Right on Duane..you won't be disappointed. Like I said in the video the ONLY think it has over the Patriot is waterproofing. I would LOVE to test a AT Max against it. I feel the Patriot would be right there with is easily.
thanks for the video, i bought a garrett at pro, b,c we get a lot of rain and we like going to the creek canoeing hitting sand banks, but when its cold water we don't go, doing to research into the garrett i ran across you video glad i watch, I now know what i will be buying for my wife her birthday and i can say its lighter, better balance and more options for you darlin. ;D.
For water stuff like what you are talking about...nothing wrong with the AT series. But if you are a dry land guy...no point in paying the price difference when the Patriot is the clear winner in almost all categories.
just so people know the water proofing is more then just water hunting, iv had the teknetics patriot was out hunting one day an a rain storm popped up caught me out in a field. got to my truck went home put detector away . went to use it next day an the screen was blank, it still beeped but lost all screen. because the rain ruined a $400 detector an thats why you always buy water proof. a non water proof detector is a wast of money, when a little rain or snow touches the electronics there instantly broken an u end up with a very expensive paper weight.
They sell a $15 rain cover for it. I would personally rather pay better attention to the weather and be prepared instead of paying $200+ in insurance I will never need. To each their own or course.
Nicely Done! Been debating on what to get since my old Teknetics 7700 Coin Computer I bought back in 1985 crapped out a few years ago. Whats the deal about the promo code? I see the Patriot selling for $399...can I get one cheaper than that using a promo code? Todd
TODDSNAKE It's $399 with the code. Amazon and Ebay sellers are just dealers with a code putting it up for same $399 price. It helps me out personally if you use my code of course. 😀
Great video, but I do not like the aesthetics of "The Patriot", Killer performance though on the tknetics though very impressive response. I'm a whites and minelab guy and always wanted to try another brand at pro but after this video, uh I'm doubting it's performance. Is there another md you'd recommend with similar performance without the patriotism on the MD? I mean no disrespect to the country guys, it just looks cheesy to me, looks like something you'd find at on a fourth of July fireworks stand.
To each their own for sure, it is not for everybody. I personally love it but can see why somebody would not. It is a re-skinned F70...so if you can find one at a reasonable price it is the same as the Patriot. Something similar to the AT Pro would be a NoktaMakro Simplex+. It is waterproof - deep - fast recovery speed - good separation - better ergonomics. But about half the price of an AT Pro. Or take a look at the Kruzer. About $80 more than the Pro but has 3 frequencies - way more options - and way better performance in every scenario I can think of.
Okay I was going to get me and my wife one eack garrett but now you put on a good analysis ,,, whats the best models in Teknetics ,, I know nothing about them but I want the very very best
Sorry for late reply William. I just saw that this one slipped by. There is no "best" really. One might be a better coin shooter...one better in iron...one better on small gold...etc. What type of detecting were you guys wanting to do?
Incorrect. It is still in discrimination mode...just set to zero. It is not the same as a true motion All-Metal mode like the Patriot (or even an AT Gold for comparison). Which is why they are including it in the AT Max.
I am more than happy to sell Garrett products. However, that would not change my opinion - and it certainly would not make the AT-Pro pass the tests. Enjoy your Garrett.
@@thehuntergt Don't have one yet, but probably go with the Garrett just because I do live around a lot of lakes and rivers, and they do get a lot of five star reviews (with the exception of yours of course). I do like the Teknetics, just not water proof
3.5 maybe. If you want a 5 star waterproof machine go get a Nox....Kruzer....Anfibio...etc. If Garrett spent as much on their marketing as their engineering...the AT Max would have been a leap...not a baby step.
I guess some individuals would want a waterproof detector if they get caught in the rain. Can't say if the Teknetics would survive a downfall. An extra $150 might be good insurance to keep rain from destroying your detector.
Nor should you look back. The LRP is better than the Ace....and Patriot better than the AT. Obviously great finds can be found with all 4 machines...but there is a 1st and 4th place lol.
there was a video from a guy in missouri that tested the LRP against the at pro and he concluded the same thing you did for dry land hunting the lrp holds its own even against the a.t. pro.
Nope...I check the weather before I got out. If I needed rain-proofing....I would use a $15 neoprene cover...or a plastic baggy...instead of paying and extra $150 premium for an inferior machine.
Well I don't exactly agree with your assessment of the AT Pro being Inferior, however there are better machine out there on the market, I live in Florida and it rains all the time during spring and summer, I use the AT Pro on beaches, creeks and streams as well as dry land. It servers the greater purpose the non water proof machines don't have, with that being said I'm in the process of making a trade with someone for my AP Pro and Whites CTX 300 in exchange for another detector. I am looking at the AT Max or the Equinox which are both water machines, I have to say I hunt with several people who don't have water proof machines and when thunder storms pop up while it gushes rain they run for cover in fear of getting their machines wet and rightly so as I stand there laughing my ass off as it pouring buckets of rain not worried about a damn thing!
I have a F44 for those soaked days....and covers for all of my detectors. No running here either. I don't do streams or creeks however...so I can absolutely see how waterproofing would be relevant there. AT series is great for the water guys. For dry land hunts however...I'd take the Patriot over the AT Pro (or even Max) any day of the week. I have a new Max in my possession I have been testing. I can say I like it more than the Pro...but still prefer the Patriot for my needs.
MrMenotume Kurt from the Hoover boys said he would 100% give up his beloved( hoover) at pro for the at max. so I'm guessing there is a big improvement with at max.but I would love to see the at max vs the t2.
Steve Klein: Yes, I saw. The main improvement is built-in z-link. There are other convience features (backlight, more controls, etc), true all-metal mode and some kind of "depth increase". So, no doubt in my mind that the max is better than the pro/gold. But what really matters (to me) is recovery speed, target separation, depth, Vdi accuracy, etc. I also would love to see Max vs T2 as I swing the T2 ;)
Great! Thanks for the honesty! Finally answers about weight and balance! I tried an Ace 400 - destroyed my arm And - not impressed with Garrett’s capability Patriot is looking good
Canny test of a old hat ATP old technology and new technology Patriot . The Patriot is well thought of in the UK for performance and great value . ATP has its followers . We had the ATP'S 5 years ago .One instance I can remember . My son shouted me over the ATP had found a ship half penny ( small copper coin ) at 14 inch which is some going . Things have moved on might of been a better test against the new Garrett AT MAX . Not a lover of are tests though . Well done on giving honest test which you asked to do . How would the Patriot do against another new kid on the block the Nokta Impact ???
david hopper That Patriot is actually based off the F70. Nothing has changed internally other than a new faceplate. The F70 and AT Pro were released one year apart making it a pretty even test. I would love to get an AT Max and Impact to compare against. It would be a close race in my opinion. The Patriot is the best deal going in all of detecting and others are still playing catch up to the F70-F75-T2 platform. Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the comparison, I have a ATPro and true, you have to cherry pick but more importantly you have to swing slower, it is easy to miss a coin by a half an inch, yes my arm gets tired and no I do not think the AT Max is better. I like the pro and although I do not use it in lakes or rivers I like the water proof for rainy days. But that was not the main reason I got it, I like the easy to use function of it but now I do like the T2 patriot thanks to you and I very interested in getting one soon, how long is that code good for? because I do not have a purchase time worked out yet (New job starting soon). It was a very factual review but you did make my ATPro cry!! Thanks again GT
Very good point about the swing speed. I would never swing it as fast as my T2 or Patriot and I did need to get accustomed to the short wiggle with it to get some targets to pop. Still never got the depth I wanted in my terrible soil...but it did ok in trash and such. Code for the T2 or the Patriot is good for the foreseeable future. The Digitek and Omega deals end Fathers Day. Thank for watching and commenting!
And I still say you could not be more wrong....west of the Mississippi anyways. No AM mode...no ground balance...no volume adjust. All things the LRP has and the Ace lacks. Glad it works for you though Steve. That is all that matters. :)
LMAO...oh for sure man. I look forward to the witty banter that is incoming. The vulgar spam that gets deleted is even worth it. :D Thanks for watching Steve.
Garret sucks . they are out of date with the new detectors. Ive owned a few of them and they all work at the same rate. Buy anything but garrett, unless you are a beginner
I've heard some say they prefer with or without. I don't have DST on my T2 either...and so far so good with both machines. I can absolutely see how some would prefer it though if they deal with bad EMI.
TheHunterGT just kind of the piece of mind knowing it's there if it is needed. I hunt old farm fields where I turn off my dst simply because I personally feel it robs my machine of a little depth.....but also hunt turn of the century and slightly newer homes with wires dangling overhead where even with it engaged, still likes to chatter unless you drop sens. way down, or raise disc.....which I never do. is this code good through father's day as well? I'm digging this machine.
Yessir the code for the Patriot is good past Father's day. Just the Digitek and the BH Jr promotion stops then. I think the Omega as well ends on Father's Day.
Sorry to comment on an old video . How does the patriot stand against the BH LRP I have the LRP and was trying to find a deeper machine without breaking the bank.
just watched this vid again and it hit me....my buddy has an AT PRO and when I compare finds with my f75 I noticed I have way more silver dimes in my finds. actually the hunt we went on I we went back over a path he took and sniped a silver rosey. just hit me when you demonstrated the dime in the center there.
Thanks for the discount code.. Patriot will be here tomorrow!!
My pleasure! Thank you for the support! You will love it.
Come on teknetics send me a reply about your Patriot I'd love to try it out and give you my opinion I also also already have a Technics 4000
Honestly sir, this channel should have tens of thousands of subs. We humans are funny creatures. You've got an excellent channel.
Thanks man I really appreciate that. Someday soon I shall ten of thousands! 2-3 more years I figure....5 or so to 100K.
I intend to place a plastic bag over the electronics to protect the machine from the rain that is so prevalent in Washington State...
An easy and cheap fix that has worked for many other detectorists.
I would recommend you do the same with the Teknetics t2 plus vs the AT Pro. I would love to see the statistics.
I might just have to...
Killer comparisons! I've owned 3 AT Pros and they are all gone. Im keeping my new Patriot!
Thank you for the discount code. My new Patriot is on the Bench soon to be in the field.
Thank you for using my code. I really appreciate that! You won't be selling the Patriot anytime soon! Best of luck with it my friend.
Great comparison test... but what's the big difference between the Patriots and the t2 Limited? Seems that they're almost identical.
My pleasure...glad you enjoyed it. Nothing can compare to the Patriot for $400....it's a bonkers deal. I'd walk behind a AT Pro user any day. :)
TheHunterGT Alrighty. Thank you for the response!
My pleasure. Sorry I can not help more on this one.
This is why I love watching your channel. Keeping it real.
Appreciate the kind words Ted!
Over in the UK most people don't water hunt but we detect in a lot of rain which is why the at pro sells well. I have bought a quest Q 40 which is not submersible but is weather resistant, it comes with wireless headphones as standard and is very quick and light.
Did you test a minelab vs patriot
The real reason to buy an atpro is to start a RUclips channel. Because there’s a shortage of metal detecting channels with people swinging atpros. Am I right?
Still to this day...
But how would your Patriot do up against the Impact? THAT'S the comparison I'd like to see!
When will the promotion expire?? Totally sold me on this, but want to purchase in April.
It's still $399...code A1474. 😎 Thanks!
TheHunterGT thanks for quick response! That says volumes in it self! Thank! Sold!
TheHunterGT does Teknetics sell a 5X8 coil for the Patriot?
My pleasure and glad to help!. Thanks for using my code!. Fisher makes a 5x10 for the F75 that works. Any F75 coil will work on the Patriot...aftermarket or First Texas made.
How does the bounty hunter time ranger pro compare to these
Same as the G2+...smokes the AT Pro.
First off i own an AT pro and water hunt. That being said WOW! No comparison, i have a good idea for my next detector!
Great to hear Liz! You will enjoy it for sure. Best of luck.
Thanks for watching and commenting Steve. I think any AT Pro user will be pleased with the Patriot for dry land hunting.

What kind of Bounty hunter do you swing?
Been using an Ace 250 for quite a while and been looking for a good step-up detector. I was saving up for a T2 and then the Patriot caught my eye, better and cheaper with a well proven DD coil. Your videos gave me confidence to order a Patriot with your coupon code, thanks. I look forward to learning my new machine, when it comes...
Glad to be of service Kevin. Thanks for using my code...I appreciate that. Patriot has been my go-to machine since it got here. Very powerful even at 60-70 sens. Let me know if you have any questions on it...always here to help.
What about the possibility of making the Patriot waterproof? Seems like it could be done.
Duane Weldon I'm no engineer...but enough silicone will make anything waterproof lol
would you do a Pin pointer test? and if you do can you post the kHz they put out?Thank you
I have already done the Makro - Garrett - Teknetics/Fisher test...it was the only 3 I had at the time. Teknetics/Fisher was clear winner. Check back about a year in the videos sections and you should see them.
Patriot , T2 or Vanquish 540 ???
They are all good. 👍😎
@@thehuntergt I know that they are all good , was asking your opinion on which you think is better .
Guys on TV used it...so it must be the best ever. I mean it's a tried and proven detector and all that...but it's not on my top 10 either.
Pj Plue Yes it works great. Check out my recent beach hunting videos with the Patriot...works great in wet or dry beach sand.
Does anyone know if the "patriot" would be even deeper and better with the detech ultimate 13 "coil? THX
Love your review on the patriot, looking at minelab vanquish 540 what are your thought between them?
Looking to get a metal detector would love the Patriot but I see when I went to their site it's not being made anymore bummer. Do you know of any that is as good as the Patriot?
They are still making it from what I know. www.tekneticsdirect.com/products/detectors/teknetics-patriot Make sure to use code A1474 at checkout! :)
So so happy i purchased the Patriot! Got one for 315 hardly used! Cant wait to go into the field!
Hell of a deal man. You will love it.
TheHunterGT Thank you, I feel like I'm gonna end up with that Patriot soon
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have been trying to figure out which one of these to get and now I know. I have a BH Quicksilver and it has been good to figure out if I really do like the hobby but now I'm ready to move up. I have trouble pinpointing with the BH where to dig which is very frustrating. Do you know how long the $50 discount will last?
Should be good for the foreseeable future on the Ameriteks. Other detectors are cycling through flash sales and come and go and Teknetics pleases. Great sales and price drops they have going lately.
Very good comparison testing on these two units. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching! :)
Whats better the patriot or the g2 for the money?
Hard to say...they are different machines. The Patriot is probably one of the best price to performance detectors around right now. Nothing in the $399 price range comes close to it in my opinion. It's based off the same 13 khz platform as the T2 and F75 and has the performance to prove it. It is deeper on coin sized objects compared to the G2.
The G2 is a great relic machine and nugget shooter however - and will hit smaller bit and pieces better in bad mineralized soil. Also one of the best ID's on coins I have seen for any VLF detector. Separates and unmasks quite well in heavy iron.
Which machine do you think preforms best in iron, clay rich soils on TID? My AT Max sucks. I am looking for a new one to replace it with. TIA
TheHunterGT thanks a lot for the info will check your other videos out,
My pleasure! Thank you!
Good comparison video! Thanks!
Thanks Charles!
I wonder how this compares t the Minelab Equinox 600. Hmm.
I'm thinking about getting in to the hobby. Well done presentation. Where is the best place to get the Patriot?
Michael Moore
innertube205 Best place is factory direct at www.tekneticsdirect.com using my code A1474 during checkout. $50 off...free shipping....5 year warranty. You will love it.
Thanks. I ran across the info on a subsequent video you had. Sorry to bother you.
innertube205 Never a bother. Always here to help and answer any questions you have. Appreciate the support.
I just bought the Patriot and a Pin Pointer from the Teknetics site. Thanks for the code!
innertube205 Right on. Thank you for the support. Stop by the forums or email me if you ever have any questions.
Air test settings on patriot from this video? Thank you
Very well done. You just showed it how it is. Wish the patriot was out six months ago when I bought my Delta ,I do like it but the Patriot does seem to be a step or two up. Jim
Yeah it;s absolutely a step up. Nothing wrong with the Delta though. Even it has an All-Metal mode this AT-Pro lacks.
Never know! :)
hi..you have link to the video of you pulling 9 inch silvers with with the patriot ...thanks
I don't record all my hunts...and absolutely not sure what video it would be in. But there should be footage somewhere in these videos of me pulling 8-9 inch coins with the Patriot. It is definitely not something that happens every day....but I have shown my PP totally below the ground line more than once with the Patriot and T2 both.
hey thehuntergt is the bounty hunter quick draw pro is a good to use
Very good detector for the price. Check my review of it here - ruclips.net/video/Y-sJsF8MmMI/видео.html&ab_channel=TheHunterGT
just ordered the Patriot from teknetics.com..............thanks for saving me a whole bunch of time researching this stuff. Be well!!
You will love it! My pleasure - always happy to help! Thanks for your support!
Hey hunter GT what replaced the Fisher F70? and is it just as good as the F70?
This Teknetics Patriot is a re-skinned F70. No difference...same machine on the inside. F70 was $700 at the time...Patriot is $399.
wondering how the Patriot compares to the BH Platinum pro since they are at the same price point.
After seeing this video i sure do want a patriot now thanks for the video
david and john My pleasure...thanks for watching!
Intersting comparison. Thanks for posting this video!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it.
TheHunterGT what is the cheapest best metal detector for gold on salt sand, thanks TheHunterGT
TheHunterGT what is the verdict sir?
Nadjim Amzal Patriot handled it very well. In the salt water it chattered a small bit...in wet sand and dry sand no issues at all.
Found a silver quarter with my AT Pro. I'll keep mine.
Soinds good. I'll stick to dozen or so silvers the Patriot has brought me. Happy hunting.
@@kirklyles1705 You won't be disappointed. For the price there is nothing that can touch it.
i would buy the Patriot but it just seems confusing to set up
It is very easy to setup once you understand it. Much easier than setting the clock on a 80's VCR!
thanks for your help. I enjoy your vids and find them informative
My pleasure..thanks for watching!
TheHunterGT OK thank you! I misunderstood. Thanks for the test.
Hey I have a question about the patriot in general. How does the ground balancing work? Can it ground balance on wet sand at the ocean?
Hunter, great comparison between the two. Thanks for sharing this info.
Thanks Jerry. Glad you enjoyed it.
thanks for the video, i bought a garrett at pro, b,c we get a lot of rain and we like going to the creek canoeing hitting sand banks, but when its cold water we don't go, doing to research into the garrett i ran across you video glad i watch, I now know what i will be buying for my wife her birthday and i can say its lighter, better balance and more options for you darlin.
To each their own or course.
would you say the patriot out performs the teknetics g2+
Not in heavy iron no. G2+ is an amazing machine in nails. Where the Patriot wins is depth and tone options.
Air test patriot setings?
I do not remember.
Excellent comparison tests, very informative. Go Teknetics!
Thanks Travis! Night and day difference in my eyes.
I have a Teknetics Liberator + love it , + a At Pro . now I want a Patriot. Thanks for review .. Hunter !
Love your test.
Thank you!
So how much did teknetics pay for this video if you don't mind please 🥺
It was free...just like your sister. 😎
ill take my Teknetics Ameritek Minuteman over any garrett all day.
I would not argue that one bit with you.
@@thehuntergt we have sandy soil we are new to metal detecting ,, may hit Creeks as well ,
On the AT PRO zero mode is all metal
Incorrect. It is still in discrimination mode...just set to zero. It is not the same as a true motion All-Metal mode like the Patriot (or even an AT Gold for comparison). Which is why they are including it in the AT Max.
TheHunterGT oh okay I was wrong I apologize.
No worries man. I am wrong every day....more than once!
Considering the kick back that your getting from Teknetics it's no wonder that you would chose the Teknectics over the Garrett.
@@thehuntergt Those look really nice, just a little out of my price range right now, but thank you for the suggestion, will have to save up.
I guess some individuals would want a waterproof detector if they get caught in the rain. Can't say if the Teknetics would survive a downfall. An extra $150 might be good insurance to keep rain from destroying your detector.
in my case the ace 400 vs land ranger pro caused me to go LRP and save a 100 bucks and i have not looked back.
Nor should you look back. The LRP is better than the Ace....and Patriot better than the AT. Obviously great finds can be found with all 4 machines...but there is a 1st and 4th place lol.
there was a video from a guy in missouri that tested the LRP against the at pro and he concluded the same thing you did for dry land hunting the lrp holds its own even against the a.t. pro.
Great info. Best comparison video I've seen
I do appreciate that.
Are you ever been caught in the Rain in the middle of a field
The people in the UK like waterproof as we are always out in the rain 😂 good review 👍
jim barnes Valid point. Maybe a rainproof cover would be ideal so you still get the Patriot performance. Thanks for watching from UK.
Do you think Garett will donate an AT-max to you for a side-to-side test? I think not. ;)
If I was a betting man...I would keep my wallet shut on those odds. :)
MrMenotume Lol so do I bro
LOL.....not even close.....i started with an ace 250.......i thought all machines were the same.. (silly newbie) i sold the ace....for a delta.
Yeah, the Delta is loads better than an Ace 250. We don't know what we don't know...until we know!
this video explains why i can't stand the at pro, well done
I love to try out the Patriot someone want to give me a let me try it I'm out here at Fort Hood
Possibly the best detector for the money, ThePatriot...
Very good for the $ - no doubt about it.
I am not water hunter...but i need to wash my machine...i wash my at pro everytime after mudding...
My TESORO CIBOLA will put my AT-MAX to shame every day.
Great! Thanks for the honesty! Finally answers about weight and balance! I tried an Ace 400 - destroyed my arm
And - not impressed with Garrett’s capability
Patriot is looking good
Thanks for watching! Pretty clear cut difference for me...but plenty of people do choose the Garrett.
Thank for watching and commenting!
and I still say the ace 400 does better then LRP except in your soil. lol
And I still say you could not be more wrong....west of the Mississippi anyways. No AM mode...no ground balance...no volume adjust. All things the LRP has and the Ace lacks.
Glad it works for you though Steve. That is all that matters. :)
TheHunterGT I sold the ace to my Dude like 5 months ago been hunting with t2 ever since. lol
I thought you had a T2 lol. Steve is an Ace guy still? It didn't sound right. :)
TheHunterGT your going to catch a lot of shit for this video. but your view count should be good and the comments are going to be funny.
I think your RUclips name is pretty fitting Jimmy! 😎
@@thehuntergt You haven't seen anything yet, just wait until my videos come out in April
Excellent Job
I wish the patriot had dst.
I think the Omega as well ends on Father's Day.
nice..thanks!......subbed!
Thank you!
salut très bonne vidéo merci !!!
Je vous remercie! J'apprécie le soutien de la France.
Makes sense. F75 is easily the deeper/faster machine...separates better as well. AT Pro does a good job unmasking. I will give it that.
