Mine was the c model and I got the parts from another fellow utuber to turn it into a regular 250. The zama carbs are junk imo so I got the wt215 walbro carb from dealer for 35 bucks. After I gutted the muffler and opened up the exhaust outlet it absolutely ripps for a 45cc saw! They just vibrate terrible bad and my white knuckle hates it! Good little saw no doubt! Super clean is an amazing product I use to keep my saws looking like new! See ya next time!
Super Clean is awesome from burnt on messes on the kitchen stove to the shop and is the best degreaser I've used for cleaning up nasty saws! I buy it by the gallon now, and anybody who hasn't tried it yet should! Great job getting those saws going again👍🏻 the ms250/025 is a legend in its class. I can't really give input on chinesium spark plugs as I've never used them unless they came pre installed in a chinesium saw. My experience with aftermarket carburetors has been hit or miss, even with Hipa. Sometimes they work great, sometimes not so much.
Awesome feedback as always AP! I am pretty impressed with this model. I believe this is one of the saws that has given STIHL the reputation that they have had. Use em hard, and put em away till next time.... repeat.
Great video. I just lost my Grandfather as well and have 2 saws he gave me that I need to get running again. Both in great condition but he never serviced anything. Changed the oil for him once in a 64 GMC dump truck and he said it hadn't been done in 20 years. 😅 .. miss that guy.
I am sorry for your loss. I hope you can get the saws running well! The good thing is that some of the old saws were built like tanks and can handle a bunch! Be safe and enjoy making the memories!
Any used saw I buy, I take apart and clean. Blow them off to get the big chunks off and then wash them with super clean. Works great. Also id suggest scrubbing with a tooth brush with the super clean, gets it much cleaner if you agitate it. Then every time after I use my saw I blow it off with air. Keeps the saw much cleaner in the long run. Also I buy the gallon jugs and either refill my spray bottles or use the refillable pump sprayers. Works great. I also like to start the saw once it has sat and dried to make sure any water that may have gotten in the engine gets burned up and removed.
Awesome! I thought that blowing them off, it would be a better use of the Super Clean. I have done it before where I just soaked em and the results were really pretty good. The Super Clean goes a lot further this way however. Good tip on running the saw. Great way to get the water out of it for sure. The heat and vibration get it out of the nooks and crannies.
I use Super Tech all-purpose parts cleaner, brake cleaner, or carb cleaner (use whatever I have) along with the air compressor. I've never had a need to use water on a chainsaw, but I don't feel it's a big deal to do so. Super Clean seems like a good product. I'll have to try it some time.
👍👍 nice repair!! I don’t change spark plugs much either- but it’s bitten me a few times with deposits and carbon bridging. Make carb adjustments or think there is a leak and it was just a plug. I’ve had good luck with a lot of the import plugs.
Lots of the chainsaws I work on are dirty like these Stihl ms250. I would use Super Clean to spray on them to cut the dirt and either pressure wash or blow off. Thanks for the videos
Excellent! Honestly, the system seems robust enough and does seem to work well. I would say the spring assisted start would have to go first for me out of those two features. I do like the plain old 250 though. Thank you again!
I'd use the super clean on my street bike. With my saws I find an ounce of prevention is as good as a pound of cure... I blow them off with the air hose on a regular basses so the oily mess doesnt get baked on. With cars and bikes I change spark plugs every 4-5 years so they dont seize into the cylinder, saws dont matter they dont seize in them, I dont wait until they're running bad. You will have issues getting the plugs out of your S10 due to age/seizing, been there done that. When the plugs are original in an old car/truck you just leave them and pray you never need to change them.
Great comment! I hope the plugs dont have an issue coming out!!!! oh no! I am pretty sure my dad never did them. got the truck with less than 100k on it a couple years ago.
If I had some super clean, I could use it on some of these chainsaws I repair most of them look like they have the original dirt on them from the first would they ever cut! Caked on and greasy to the max.
I use super clean on a lot stuff around my shop. I would spray it on there let it set for a little while then spray water and scrub some with a light brush is what I would do. Super clear is an awesome cleaner. Please enter me on the give away and I am in the USA thank you from a Georgia guy.
I have an ms 250. It has a primer bulb and actually a decomp valve. I don't think this is the most normal and it doesn't need it. Not my biggest saw but one of my favorites. Maybe because it was my first saw and my dad got it for me. It was a used saw but none theless.
Wow, another variation out there that I was unaware of. Really interesting and I really appreciate you sharing this bit of information. Super cool memories associated with it it seems as well. Thank you for sharing!
I got a husky 55 for 25 bucks cause the guy said it didn’t run. It had so much caked around the coil that it lost spark. A simple cleaning and it ran like new. Super clean would have made the process even easier. Looks like great stuff!
hey Todd, there is more to it than just the bulb. Different carb too. HIPA does sell the kits now or the 250C but they sent this stuff out before those were avaialble.
I believe so. There is one bar stud and I haven't checked to see if another could go in there or not. It would take a few parts. Better off with a standard one to also not have the easy start.
Yes, but it was more than the bulb and line. The carb is different too. HIPA now how the kit for this saw but they did not when they sent the parts out to me. I have links in the descripton for the 250C

great comment and I did not know about that saw Ted! Very good and good luck!

Super clean is great for cleaning my dirt bikes and my lawnmower. Car rims too🙂
Awesome! Thank you for sharing that. Love to hear feedback. I know the first time I did this, it was utterly shocked at how well it worked.
Thanks so much Joe! Outstanding job, I can’t wait to run them on our projects.
They are much more fun than I thought they would be Chris! See ya soon!
Hi Joe. Great job on those saws for very little money. These are great saws for limbing. Enjoy. Nazdravja!
Thank you friend! I was impressed with the saws once I got them running in some wood!
Great video. I just lost my Grandfather as well and have 2 saws he gave me that I need to get running again. Both in great condition but he never serviced anything. Changed the oil for him once in a 64 GMC dump truck and he said it hadn't been done in 20 years. 😅 .. miss that guy.

Super clean is a fabulous cleaner that works everywhere. Works when and where you need it
Thank you for watching and commenting!
great cleaner. use it on processor and tractors during routine maintenance.. great video
Thank you for sharing!
Nice job on the 250s buddy. Thanks for the mention also. My buddy Brock over at Lewis mowers and boats uses super clean. He like it.
You are very welcome sir! I hope you are well and thank you or the feedback on the other channel

"180 was not a bad saw it just never ran right"
It runs just like a 170 does and I have run them. The one I had was used. It ran well for some time, that is why i said that.
Super Clean would be amazing to keep our saws and splitters cleaned up.
you betcha! Thank you for wartching buddy!
Super Clean is a fantastic product on grease and grime
Thank you sir!
Great job! The ms 250 are great saw!
I am impressed with them. Run really well and actually could be a useful tool.
I use general purpose household cleaning spray for cleaning my saws but I don’t hose them down with water and it works great ❤
You spray them and wipe it but do not rinse? Thank you for sharing!

I know it works well. I prefer the smell and lack of harshness of not using brake cleaner.

That is something for me to keep in mind CF. That makes me go hmmmmmmmm..... Maybe I am on the opposite end of things.

Gosh dang! That is tough to get to the task at hand! Thank you much for watching!
Super Clean. I would use it to get all the smeared anti seize off everything lol
😂
hahahahaha!
I’m definitely using super clean next time I do a Stihl clean up !! Great video Oakie!
You are very welcome! Thank you for stopping by watching and commenting!
Shout out from Enid, OK!!! Oakie represent!!
Hello Neighbor! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I have a sthil ms 250 saw with the twist saw blade tensioner and I think it is a beast 😁
Excellent! Honestly, the system seems robust enough and does seem to work well. I would say the spring assisted start would have to go first for me out of those two features. I do like the plain old 250 though. Thank you again!

My grandma had that dust pan 🤪
Mornin Mr Todd
hahahahaha! Love it! Stays in my shop man!

Awesome comment! Thank you for watching! Good work figuring that out
Superclean works great to clean my stihl ms250 just like in the video
Awesomeness! Appreciate the feedback!
both those saws turned out great. Im not a fan of the ez start system or the tooless adjuster eaither
I would not get one either , I use to use the ms250 every day, my favorite actually
@@toddcaskey9984 I think some of those systems work for certain people, but overall complicate what would be a simple system
@ only good if you don't have screnches 🤪
I have a video where I weigh some parts too, that has not been edited yet.
I think the Super Clean would clean the concrete in my garage where my Kia decorated it from the exhaust pipe.
I bet it would too! Thank you much!
I would likely use it for the same thing as the LA Totally Awesome degreaser laundry pretreater that I get from the dollar store which now costs $1.25
Thanks for sharing!
15:31 Is that a rocket stove stump for sale in your firewood stand? Have you sold those before?
I would get a new bulb for it
I have not sold them... but I have sold the noodles.
hey Todd, there is more to it than just the bulb. Different carb too. HIPA does sell the kits now or the 250C but they sent this stuff out before those were avaialble.
Can you swap the easy adjustment system for the regular setup?
I believe so. There is one bar stud and I haven't checked to see if another could go in there or not. It would take a few parts. Better off with a standard one to also not have the easy start.
You forgot to take the cover for the brake mechanism and clean behind. Hahaha
Is there something there? I am not very familiar with these saws. Not a huge fan of the clamshell designs. The mechanism works just fine. Thanks much!
A primer bulb with the fuel lines for a MS250 is less than $10 on Amazon.
Yes, but it was more than the bulb and line. The carb is different too. HIPA now how the kit for this saw but they did not when they sent the parts out to me. I have links in the descripton for the 250C
Mornin
Morning sir!
I like how you said clam shell saws are hard to work on. I don’t necessarily agree with that. More likely a Stihl chainsaw is hard to work on
I have the most experience with STIHL Clamshells so you may very well be right. I just prefer being able to pull the jug without a total disassembly.
