Hello from the American Midwest. Indiana to be more specific. I have the Ace 250 with an 8.5 X 11 inch DD coil on it and I have a pinpointing tip for you.
When I pinpoint with the coil, I move side to side to find the strongest point. Then, without letting go of the pinpoint button, I rotate the coil 90 degrees, being sure to keep the center hole exactly in place, and again move side to side to find the strongest point. One last time I rotate back 90 degrees and repeat. You'll find that the target is now precisely under the center hole.

Hi mate I have done many trips to the bush "outback" prospecting and never got lost. But there were times I found myself " temporarily geographically misplaced" , you become a member of the "fugarewe tribe". That's when you say to yourself or someone you meet "where-the-fug-are-we!".

Hello from the New England section of the east coast, U.S.A.!
"Every bit of the woods looks like every other bit of the woods." Lol!! You can say THAT again! :) I grew up in the country and know it's easy enough to get turned around when you're preoccupied with other things.
For anyone wanting to go metal detecting in older deep woods : take along a spray can of fluorescent paint...the kind of paint that is TEMPORARY and will wash off after a few good rains...and spray an old tree stump or log, or a few downed branches every now and then, probably 50 to 100 feet apart.
Of course, if you spray an old log and then turn into a curve where you won't see that mark, spray another old log/branch/stone in that curve before continuing on.
If you don't have any spray paint, though, you can always take a few larger stones and make a small but noticeable pile of them every 50 to 100 feet. Use these piles as your "path markers".
Also, your eyesight and the density of the foliage around you...or the lack of it as in late Autumn, Winter, and early Spring...will be the ultimate determining factors as to how far apart your markers need to be so you won't get lost. :)

that mangled metal seems to bullets that were shot into the ground. You can see how they kind of mushroom or flatten out on impact. The two circles together are a bracket for mounting a bayonet to a rifle.

Try taking a magnet with you. It will help you to determine if an item is steel and also when you are digging a hole and keep getting and signal , but cant find anything, it might just be a small piece of wire or part of a rusty nail, you can run your magnet around the hole and helps to eliminate than kind of stuff.

Hello. You will need as everyone has stated: gloves, and then the following; Mosquito repellent, or go to your hunting and fishing stores and by a hat mosquito screen which I always place in my back pocket, it downs matter what your fans think of how you look. When it comes to getting a mosquito viral infection like Dengue or malaria, you will understand why you should where one. Also No matter how hot it is where long sleeves it helps with the mosquitos even though you placed the repellent on your face, eared on the out side and back of neck. Boots never sneakers, why in case you sept on something that slithers and bites you the teeth won’t go through them.
And also nails will go through sneakers but not the boots.
Also when scanning an area with camera slow down it gives a much more indication of where you are and if you get lost or your camera gets found with out you the person who sees it could possibly help find you by getting the camera to the police.
Also if you look on line there is a shovel that is about three feet with a long thin blade with teeth on bothers sides that cuts thru roots like butter. You simply make your first cut and make a small cutting circle pop out the “Plug” that’s what it is called and away you go to the next hole. Gl and HH

My detector seems to always go off or detect aluminum cans as silver...I dont know why that is...a tip is...if your detector detects "silver" and you dig down around 5 inches, and you haven't found it yet...this means it is a larger target, deeper down...which is usually a can...I have found this to be true 100% of the time...

    • @markbrownsell7443
      @markbrownsell7443 5 лет назад +1

Aluminium and silver detect around the same discrimination range. Same as iron and gold are similar range. Discriminate against aluminum you won't find silver. Discriminated against iron you won't find gold

Old video, but one thing i noticed about the detector you are using is that the wire down at the search coil should wrap over the metal shaft instead of under it. This will sometimes cause false signals because the coil will often sense the wire that is hanging down in front of it(have seen it happen before)...Just my worthless 2 cents worth of observation

Your finding are 99% war related. You have to be very careful. I was born in Poland and as young boy me and my friends in 1970's were finding a lot of life ammunition in the forest just like yours. No metal detectors then. Those forest are littered with war relics but some are still dangerous.
